We had an amazing experience exploring old Dubai with our guide, Ahmed Magdy! He was knowledgeable and friendly, making our visit to the Gold Souk and water taxi ride truly memorable. The stop at Burj Al Arab was breathtaking, and the beautiful mosque added a serene touch to our day. Ahmed’s guidance made this tour unforgettable! Also many thanks to our driver who made the journey nice and smooth.
As a previous review say, you buy mostly with the eyes. Vendors are relentless, does not stop after the words "no thanks" It is just the way it is. Gold to me looked too shiny to be real, but according to various websites, it is real gold. I'm still not convinced. Trip with water taxi was cheap and quick. The wait in the que can get a bit long. all and all a great day out.
Make sure you have 1 dinar for the driver. You can also buy your ticket from the courter. It is the easiest way to get around from one souk to another souk. I enjoyed the ride. It was quite hot waiting, so make sure slap on your sun screen.
If you happen to be in Dubai with time on your hands, then I would recommend a visit, but no necessarily with a view to buy. The negotiations would be too draining!
The river taxi is a convenient way to cross the water from the older part of Dubai to the gold souk and spice area. It wasn't a luxury trip but it felt safe, functional and only took about five minutes. Much more preferable than arriving by road vehicle as the traffic by the souks was awful. A constant traffic jam.
The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and catered for a variety of different languages. The offering was well priced and presented excellent value.
The tour guide was very informative and friendly. The only downside was the shop at the souk he took us to - they took us for a ride price wise - a typical High pressure act Quico busy busy sales experience. But everything else was amazing!
Amazing day in old dubai!!!! I had a great time with the guide Ahmedabad alla ... Higley recommended
We bought this excursion recommended by the rep in the lobby of Hilton Jumeirah Beach. She stated this would be suitable for us - elderly with walking difficulties- as it was a private one for only a few people. The vehicle was a small minibus and totally inappropriate for us as it was difficult to get in and out and to move around because of it's shape and size. We were 10 people onboard of various nationalities; the guide spoke English, French and German, but not well. We stopped by a mosque which we were not allowed to visit, then to an art factory where they tried to sell us their goods, then by the Heritage Village (not impressive) and finished eventually after a water taxi trip outside of a gold and spice souk. We had an introductory chat outside of a tea and spice shop run by a company called Model Training LCC that was over charging for their products.
Tour guides were good. The Gold Souk very busy and the merchants are unrelentless! Enjoyed water taxi. An hour late getting back to destination is the reason for a four rating.
We went to the Gold and Spice Souks via water taxi 3 times. The first time we went with a guide and were unfamiliar and had time limitations. The 2nd and 3rd times we went on our own. We were experts at haggling by our last trip. The souks (markets) are very busy with vendors clamoring for your attention to get your business. They are friendly enough but aggressive. You have to know how to say no and know how to bargain to get the best price. The 1st time that I went...I didn't want to offend on how much I wanted to spend. By the 3rd day I ended up bring their prices down to what I wanted to pay for my gold, spices, and souvenirs. I found...they will only refuse your offer if it is too low and most of the time they will accept it. Going to the souks is exciting! We got everything that we wanted at the prices that WE were willing to pay. The water taxis ride was only 1 Dirham (about .50 cents) one way and it is a nice little ride to get to each side. I would recommend if you are looking for good deals on gold, spices, and souvenirs.
Dubai is an amazing city... so modern... a city that has everything and more. It is not only a beautiful city but it is the cleanest city... more clean than Beverly Hills... If someone drops a paper on the street they get fined $2000.00... The Dubai Museum is fascinating... very historical. The gold souk is fun to see. I want to go back to see more of Dubai and just hang out... Great great city!
Me from Canada and my sister in law from UK visited the Dubai Museaum and learned so much about the old Dubai. It was quite informative and interesting if you like to know more about the old days and culture of dubai. Very well planned lots of things which take you to the old days ,we njoyed it and must be visited if you have kids. Thanks Pika from Canada
Good tourist attraction and very neat and clean place to visit Dubai Museum Gold Souk and Water Taxi. You can visit with your family and best for half day tour.
Dubai Museum is small, but interesting enough. The old fort is great, and the underground reconstructions are interesting, but the artifacts are the main attraction. The gold souk is awe inspiring and overwhelming. I didn't relise there was so much gold in existence. The water taxi is a step back in time, and a great experience after weeks of jet travel and luxury trains/coaches etc.

You could honestly do better by taking a cab and going to these places yourself. For Jumeirah beach and mosque, they only let you off on the side of the road for 10 mins to take pictures. My favorite was when they took us to an art gallery where they herded us into a closed room and shamelessly gave a sales pitch for carpets. The rest of this art gallery was also just a store where people aggressively tried to sell you things that are available anywhere else in Dubai for cheaper. What a waste of time!

Amazing tour. Tour guide was awesome and got to see many cool places. HIGHLY recommend

This was a good tour overall and a lot was covered in four hours. However, we were picked up over half an hour late and then had to wait additional time at a further two hotels for other people to join the tour. We did not visit the Women's Museum or the Bastakiya District.

Fun tour to see Old Dubai. You don’t have enough time to truly bargain and purchase anything. Also, the communication related to the transportation was poor. We had to actually call to confirm pickup time and location. Once picked up, we waited 40 minutes in the car for the next patron.

the best tour with the best guy tour in town for sure. he was knowledgeable, attentive, protective, trustworthy and respectful to women. Hard to find when you are american women and traveling alone.I love it the tour every part of it.

Great tour. Learned alot and had a really great time. Would recommend this tour again and again

The tour guide was knowledgeable but didn't seem to love the area she was leading. But she did take care of every person and was clear about the destinations. She also moved through locations with ease and that inspires confidence.

The tour started late, and so it ended late and this meant that some people who were going on other tours felt like they needed to leave early We didn't see a private fashion show which is ok, but also didn't see the Women's Museum and that would have been interesting

The activities described in our program were not all carried out despite the great professionalism of our guide who was at the top
Excellent guide All right. But Stop on the public beach little interest We regret that we were not allowed to enter the mosque
Space that is very worth visiting in Dubai, tells the history of the city of how it all started, its interior is impressive very well preserved, looks real, very good.
