The hot air balloon sunrise tour was an unforgettable experience. Watching the sunrise over the Dubai desert from the balloon was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The pickup was on time, the staff were friendly and professional, and everything was well organized from start to finish. The balloon ride was smooth, and the views of the desert were incredible. I also appreciated the comfortable transportation, which made the early morning trip stress-free. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Dubai.

Though a slightly chaotic start, rushing to beat the clock so the sunrise wasn't missed (pick up driver arrived 20 mins late) what a fabulous and memorable experience this was for our family of 4 adults. Captain Ersin was a very personable, informative and expert pilot. Highly recommended...

Balloon ride fabulous, very professional the breakfast was awful, the camel ride non existent just a photo opportunity

It was one of the best experience of my life. We were flying highest among all the balloons wohooo! You can spot endless desert and Gazalle running although its hard to spot a gazalle but if you have good eye congrats. please note don't underestimate the weather by experiencing normal city temp. Desert is truely cold in the dawn time and air makes it more harsh, make sure to carry a heavy jacket. Best of luck.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS AND DO NOT BOOK! I was really excited for this experience, but was left disappointed. After booking, I tried to reach out to the operator for two days straight before my excursion and was unsuccessful. On the second day. I reached out to Viator to see if they are able to get in touch with the operator, they said they weren’t able to get in contact with the operator and I should wait 72 hours in order for them to hear back from the operator and then issue a refund. Later that day, which was four hours before our excursion, the operator reached out stating that they tried to contact us from when we booked because they needed information from us that was required before we can even submit payment. So, clearly that was a lie! He then offers 75% refund and I was not having that because you’re at fault here. This seems like a Scam because why you wanna take 25% of my money and you’re at fault. Viator then issued a full refund after 48 hrs.

We picked up early in the morning and driven one and a half hours to the Reception in the desert. Then the hot air balloon over the desert to coincide the sunrise which was a stunning experience . Didn’t take the breakfast option, but the entire trip was certainly a highlight

Wow what an experience can highly recommend this trip. I'm not the best with heights but after about 10 minutes I settled myself to enjoy the experience. The sunrise I'll never forget. The whole team looks after you from start to finish. Captain was excellent and made sure we were all ok and what a superb landing. Defo put this on your bucket list of things to do if visiting Dubai.

Unfortunately we were unable to do this excursion due to high temperatures and high wind, which I totally understand and appreciate the safety concerns, however, leading up to our excursion they were uncommunicative, even though viator did the very best to communicate with them we waited out at 3:30 AM for a pick up until 4:30 AM when they finally cancelled the tour crazy enough it was 37° waiting for the tour viator did their best to get a hold of them, but they never responded if they said at 3:30 were considering cancelling the trip stay tuned I would understand, but the lack of communication makes me never recommend not doing this tour

What would have been a fantastic experience turned in to a very bad experience. I messaged the company the day before to re clarify pick up time. Later in the day I received a message informing of cancellation due to the hot weather. Which I completely understand and have no issues with. A refund was offered, which I accepted and was informed that this was completed. I then began to become concerned after not receiving the refund. I contacted the company twice about the time scales and to inform that I had not received the refund, with no response. A week had passed and I contacted the bank who informed me that no refund was scheduled. After speaking with Viator support they have now arranged my refund which will be another 3-7 days

We had the most magical morning on Shepard hotair balloon. Our pilot so was friendly and made us feel so safe. Would highly recommend this experience.

Amazing experience with this tour operator, they were great with communication and ensured that he could safely enjoy the experience and remain well informed throughout the process. My wife and I were slightly worried about flying for first time in a hot air balloon but the pilot was incredible and the safety briefing beforehand was very informative and set our minds at ease.

It was a wonderful trip and definitely an unforgettable experience. Watching the sunrise over the desert from a balloon is simply wonderful. We had a first-class captain who explained a lot to us. Afterwards, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in a quiet, well-kept spot. The transfer from the hotel and back was also very comfortable.

The views were amazing, great experience! Safety was top notch as well. Everything ran in a timely manner. The landing was so smooth we didn't even notice! Would definitely recommend it.

What an incredible experience. Such a calm, peaceful flight; felt like a bird suspended in the air. As the hot air balloons travel "with" the wind the flight is incredibly smooth, you don't feel any wind even at height of 4000 feet above sea level. I took my 21 year old daughter and we both loved it. The flight Captain was a true professional. All the staff were fantastic too. You are clipped securely onto the basket itself via carabiner connections but mostly for the landing which was super fun in the desert. Experienced 4x4 dune drivers follow the flight path to collect you from your landing spot and take you back to your hotels etc. Would highly recommend. The excursion starts early so that you are in the air for the sunrise. We were in the air for over an hour but flight times vary slightly depending on the flight pattern planned. Loved it and our flight was super safe.

Flight was excellent - very smooth landing and very experienced captain. Had to wait for two days to receive meeting instructions, which could have been better, but in the end it worked out fine.

Great experience. Professional pickup service. Punctual pick up. The ride itself was fabulous. The pilot was very experienced. We had to change the day of our flight and it was handled perfectly.

I went on a balloon ride on the 23rd March 2025 with friends. The pilot took us up in the balloon despite the weather forecast warning of high winds (we didn't know this at the time). The balloon crashed on sand dunes, I was knocked unconscious and was treated in hospital for concussion from which I am still feeling the effects. My friend will need part of her finger amputated following the accident. We were both given flowers on the day we were leaving Dubai so left them behind. We have not had any contact from the balloon company or crash investigators since leaving Dubai. We were given flowers and that makes us feel better? Unless you don't mind going to hospital during your holiday or feeling ill and dizzy for more than a week after, do not go on a hot air balloon. Money is the deciding factor not customer's health and safety.

Great experience only bad part was SUV was to small for 5 adults and had to scramble in third row for a 45 minute ride each way .

The hot air balloon was a cool experience! I would suggest you research the entire process before doing because the landing is very hard and rough.

1000000000% recomnend. One of our highlights from Dubai. Worth waking up for. Very smooth lift off and take off. Everything was amazing. Not scary at all. The crew was very professional, efficient and made sure everything was perfect.

. We were picked up on time ( 4:00 am!), drove to a facility in the desert for safety briefing & tea/ toilet stop. It was cold before the sun came up, but the staff gave good direction on where to stand in the basket - there are 4 sections of 6 people; so 24 people in one big basket. We were clipped on with a waist harness. We had to wait lying down in the basket while the cold fans filled the balloon, then the captain used hot air & we slowly & smoothly went upright. I don’t like heights & had jelly legs of fear for the first 5 minutes but then the beauty and wonder of the view distracted me from feeling scared. We went right up to 4,000 feet, and it was incredible! Other balloons were taking off at the same time & we then descended and spent most of the flight at a lower level. We flew over farms, saw wild oryx & gazelle… all whilst the sun was rising. A beautiful, serene experience. The landing was a little bumpy but fine. Overall very exhilarating! An amazing experience I would recommend for couple & families with older children.

This was one of my best experiences. I am actually afraid of heights, but this was a present for my boyfriend. Very smooth ride & the views were amazing. Our captain was so calm & collect & talked us through everything. From safety of taking off to landing. Defo a must do if it’s on your bucket list.

This was our first time Hot Air Ballooning and it was nothing short of amazing! Our Captain, Caroline was informative, knowledgeable and certainly made the whole experience one to remember. We found the views incredible, we were able to see Dubai on our morning, and the experience felt so tranquil. A bucket list item for decades, thank you Caroline for a truly wonderful experience. So worth the early start!! I will say, our driver was tired in the morning, that had us a bit concerned, but we arrived safely.

The hot air balloon experience itself was amazing. The views are incredible. I also booked in for the extra camel ride and falcon experience however this Elmer was disappointing- it’s just in a section of the breakfast holding area and you do three small loops on the camel. The breakfast was also very disappointing and I didn’t eat anything.

I did this as a solo traveller and it was great - I’ve done a hot air balloon trip before so I already knew what to expect but this experience was very streamlined and there was definitely an emphasis on safety which is a big positive when you’re 3000+ft above the desert. The 4am pick up isn’t for the faint of heart however, the sunrise over the desert is definitely definitely worth it, especially if you’re lucky enough to see camels!
