Built-in late 1700’s this fort is the oldest functioning building in Dubai and in 1971 the fort was converted into Dubai Museum. your next stop will be Al Bastakiya Area, A place where you can still find some parts of the town which existed over 40 years ago. Al Fahidi's historical district, which is commonly known as ‘Al Bastakiya’ still holds the memories of an era that existed even before the union of Emirates. Al Bastakiya quarter is the oldest standing residential area of Dubai.
Get aboard the Abra (the traditional water taxi) ride across Dubai creek to reach Dubai Gold and Spices Souk. A Tourist attraction in the old part of Dubai you cannot miss. Our tour guide was most delightful. We're both in our 80s and Mr Hussain was respectful of our slower pace and reduced endurance with extra physical assistance and excellent itinerary planning. The tour of old and new Dubai was exceptional due in part by Mr Hussain's knowledge of area history and his clarity of presentation. Highly recommended!!
The trip was very fun, we did many photos stops and took our time seeing the sites. Cold water was provided and Hussain was very accommodating and knowledgeable on the construction of the modern sites.

The views were amazing as our tour guide Saad elaborated on the historical aspects and sights. We learned a lot about Arab culture while visiting the reception rooms and lifestyle.
