Great experience and an excellent guide — patient, funny, and enthusiastic. Logistics were poor: a 1.5-hour round trip to pick up the vehicle added unnecessary time. It would be better to pick guests up in the correct vehicle and go straight to the desert. Overall enjoyable, but somewhat overpriced.

During our holidays in Dubai we’ve spent a fantastic day with David from OffRoad Zone riding Jeep and conquering the dunes. There were only 4 Jeeps in convoy. It was amazing family attraction. We did the half-day self-drive experience with Off-Road Zone yesterday and it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The team were incredibly professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The briefing was detailed and confidence-building, and within minutes of getting out into the desert we understood why they’re considered the best in Dubai. The route they took us on was superb, a perfect mix of flowing dunes, technical sections, and wide open areas where we could really get a feel for the vehicle. David the instructor was always close by, offering tips over the radio that genuinely improved our driving and made the whole experience feel both safe and exhilarating. What stood out most was how personal the whole session felt. We never felt rushed, and the Jeep Wrangler JLU's were impeccably prepared and clearly maintained to a very high standard. Whether you’re new to off-roading or have plenty of experience, this is an absolute must-do in Dubai. We came away smiling from ear to ear and already want to book again. Highly recommended.

Second time I have done this experience and it didn't fail to deliver, again! The Jeeps are modified to make the most of the experience and the guide was excellent.

We went to the desert in a small group with the Jeep Wranglers. The experience was awesome and Dave was a great instructor. The experience was exactly we were looking for. It took roughly 7 hours from our hotel to our hotel back including transfer, driving the Jeep by ourselves to the desert and roughly 3 hours smashing the dunes. I can recommend Offroad Zone, great company for offroading and a great place for car enthusiasts.

Five stars to David, my instructor for the day, who was extremely calm and pleasant and guided me theory my first solo on the dunes! Took his time to show me everything and provide answers to any and all of my questions. 5 stars! Can recommend

This was our first time going dune bashing and Off Road Zone and David made it so memorable! David was our driver and guide and he was amazing! He taught us so much! He’s also so nice, and we were able to watch him help another group out when they got stuck. He also told us the best places to get out and take pictures which was really fun. Overall, this was such a great experience and I highly recommend coming here!

I booked the trip as I wanted to drive by my own in the sand dunes. As no other drivers have booked for that day, we got a private tour with instructor David. After driving to the desert we made a stop at a shop with a restroom and David gave me first instructions. Driving on the highway was not difficult at all. Then we entered the sand, released air pressure and directly drove into the dunes. I followed David which was not much difficult, although I had not been tough enough to drive at some positions without guidance. We came to a higher dune and David teached me how to drift along the dune. That was amazing and I had not expected to be allowed to drive such challenging moves. We had about 2 hours in the dunes which was the right distance. David made great photos of me and my wife in the unbelievable beautiful landscape. The car was an almost new Jeep with extensive modifications. Overall it was the best experience I had during my 10 day Dubai trip. I can recommend it to anyone.

Totally awesome hands on experience. We were the only vehicle in the „convoy“ that day last week and our incredible guide David, who picked us up right at the hotel, made this an incredible day for us. He managed to increase the difficulty level in a perfect way, so as I learned fast the way he explained and demonstrated the driving techniques, we got up to some pretty advanced driving quite quickly. It was the perfect combination of having insane amounts of fun, while developing new skills at the same time. Would 12/10 recommend this to anyone who is into cars and driving and wants to get away from the main touristy crowds. The Jeep we got was almost brand new and in perfekt condition as well. Absolutely amazing experience!! Did the experience as a solo traveller and thoroughly enjoyed myself. This is the best way to see the desert. Dune bashing is easy to get a hang off and extremely fun. I had an amazing guide, Kevin, who also gave precise instructions, making it very easy. Highly recommended!

This is a well organised activity from the very beginning off-road zone was in contact with me quick via WhatsApp sending documents needed and nearer the time sent videos to watch showing you what to expect etc. On the day they were in contact informing who was picking me up and arrived on time in vehicle I would be driving and took me to there premises a brief rundown of controls and paperwork and we were off. As an experienced off-roader albeit on mud not sand I wanted a move advanced driving in dessert and was sceptical if I would enjoy this trip but took the chance and glade I did. The guide David was very friendly really knew his stuff and once he taught us some tips for driving in sand he took us on a great trip into the dunes increasing the difficulty as we went luckily there was only two cars on the trip plus instructor so gave plenty of driving time and because we both took to the sand quickly got a lot out of the experience. It did feel like a real dessert drive like you would see on YouTube etc not a tamed down trip for tourist. The jeep was in immaculate condition really well looked after, the people were great so was the dessert. My only criticism and that’s not with off-road zone it’s with Dubai traffic. The first 30 min of driving is very chaotic in busy traffic trying to keep in convoy Is difficult even for someone that is a confident driver and only three vehicles in the group. As a suggestion maybe have satnav in jeeps or even allow the drivers to have destination on the phone just so they have better idea when coming to exits etc would help a foreigner not use to the country a lot. If I’m ever in Dubai again this is top of my list to do again and usually I’m not one to do same thing twice neither do I write many reviews but felt Offroadzone staff and the experience deserve it. I’ve said experience a lot because it is it’s more than just a activity to get money out of tourist you do and soon forget it’s something you will remember forever and a lot of organisation gone into it. On this particular day we were the only family on tour. This in turn meant that we had all the attention of the tour guide and we’re able to get a good amount of time out in the desert. The guide David was a great teacher for someone who has not done any kind of off roading before. He was always calm and his instructions were clear and precise. By the end of the experience I became more and more confident and knew how to handle the car and what it’s capabilities were. Getting stuck in the sand a few times (which you will end up doing) was also a good experience and learning part of the day. I was also told that I wasn’t stuck because they didn’t have to tow me out, so bear that in mind (always a plus).

Awesome self drive experience with OffRoad Zone. The instructor was very helpful and knew his way around the desert. He guided me to gain confidence in the sand and I was able to master the techniques quickly. We drove on proper sand dunes for more than 3 hours; the experience was just exhilarating. The car was in great condition and well maintained. They had all necessary safety equipment including winch, though we didn’t need it during the drive.

În 02.01, we had a perfect dune bashing driving lesson. Our guide, David, it was a very friendly "teacher", in our first 4x4 desert expedition. The car it was în good condition , verry clean and powerfull. Verry important, they provide us enough water,for all my family. It was an exiting experience, but safe. It is another kind of driving. We (me, my wife and our two daughters aged 24 and 17) did a 1 day self-drive trip (booked through Viator). We were picked up right on time (12.10) from our hotel. We were taken to the OffRoad office by David, and then got in our 4WD jeep for the drive out to the desert. We went in convoy with our guide Kevin and one other vehicle, driven by another client (Brigitte). We were provided with walkie talkies so it was very easy to communicate the whole way. The drive to the desert took about an hour on the highway but was very easy. We stopped at a shop to use the toilet and buy anything we'd forgotten for the trip, and then went to the desert where Kevin deflated our tires. We then set off driving in the dunes and we loved it! My 24 year old daughter and I shared the driving and it was challenging and certainly adrenaline inducing to start with but we soon got used to it and it was a lot of fun! The other 4WD vehicle got stuck a couple of times but, rather than sorting it out himself, Kevin coached the driver Brigitte how to get out of it and both she and we learned from that what to do if you got stuck in the sand for a bit. We drove in the desert and sand dunes for about 2 hours in total. The only downside was that one of our party got motion sickness but that wasn't OffRoad Zone's fault.! We then drove back to the city, after making a brief stop to re-inflate the tires, getting back to Dubai about 6 pm. I love going to the desert, but getting a chance to drive in it was definitely more exciting to my mind than alternative desert safaris' on offer such as camel rides (done that) or trips to Bedouin camps. And Kevin was a great guy. OffRoad were very professional from the time I signed up, We had to provide a copy of passport and driving licence in advance. One thing to be aware of is that you have to pay a security deposit or excess of 3,500 Dirhams in case of damage. Ours was returned in full within the promised 5-7 days.

Among the many desert safaris offered in Dubai, OFFROAD-ZONE is number one. Certainly not for lazy people or novice drivers. It's an unforgettable experience. David makes this tour very safe with his professionalism and balance. The organization in advance is also very well organized.

Honestly, I love to drive, I love Jeeps and I love the desert! I had it all. I was lucky to be accompanied by David. The perfect guide. Cool, insightful and 100% present. I took they half day adventure, perfect package for an introduction. Basically, you get your Jeep (impeccable machine), you drive an hour to the desert, deflate the tires and hop you go! Pure pleasure for 2 hours exploring the desert, learning how to navigate and earning confidence. By the end of the expedition, you rock the dunes and have a blast!!! Absolutely recommend this activity. My goal is to do the 3 day expedition when I come back to Dubai. Truly a « once in a lifetime » experience.

Sorry, english isn't my best language... The trip was the best thing that we have done in Dubai. We we're here one week and we went one day with offroad zone on a jeep tour. We booked the hotel pickup, which happens perfectly on time and just in front of the hotel. Then we were driven to the office from offroad zone. Here we get our jeep, everything was very simple and thrustworstly. Our driver David was so motivating and gentle. We drove to the desert on our jeep for 1h. Then we go to the desert, let the air out of our jeep tires and then the fun began. We started with lower dunes and get higher time by time. We drove for about 2.5 hours in the desert. When we got stucked, David helped us over the radio to get out of it. It was so much fun!! After that, we drove to a gas station to pump again our tires. We went back after one our of driving and David brings us back to the hotel. It was a completely simple and funny trip. If we come back to Dubai once, we will book the two days trip with offroad zone, it was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much David for this Adventure and this Experience!

We had an amazing day with Offroad Zone going into the desert of Dubai. We did the half-day trip (self-drive) and it was superb (2hours drive offroad was enough for us and felt actually quite long). It all worked very well from the pick-up to the drop-off. Also the booking procedure was super easy with a online chat and good e-mail communication. Even though we were the only booking of the day, the tour was not cancelled or rescheduled, which we really appreciated. Driving ourselves was challenging at first, but at the beginning we did some training on easy ground. Plus, we always got instructions when necessary, so we felt very safe at all times. The landscape is beautiful and it is so much fun. The only advice is that the journey in the desert obviously gets a bit bumpy, so if you have a sensitive stomach, it might be helpful to take any precautions in order not get sick. My boyfriend booked the tour for us, since he has been with YouDrive once before with the family, and we would do it again. Absolutely recommendable!

One of the best family friendly adventures which you can enjoy in Dubai. We rode in the desert with 9 and 5 years old kids and it was a lot of fun! It was thrilling but not scary. Kevin was our guide and he knows his job very well.

Not the experience we were expecting first didn’t expect to have to drive through Dubai to sand dunes bad enough going but horrendous on way back due to rush hour and guide not allowing for us new to driving in Dubai just left us had to follow other car who was on trip .Got to the Sand dunes was on a 2 driver experience had 5mins if that for driver 1 to practice driving on the sand then straight into the biggest sand dune far to much for inexperienced drivers on sand this is definitely not explained in any of the write ups . after getting stuck 2 times more we finally got of the dunes so we didn’t spoil it for the other car and waited till they finished how driver 2 was ever going to do this as he never got into the driving seat ? Definitely needs to be explained better its extreme driving not just the sand dunes but the drive from garage to sand dunes and back . For us definitely not value for money could also look at the facilities were you stop shop ok but toilets horrendous.This was a surprise for my husband birthday so disappointed 😞

I bought a 2002 Jeep Wrangler from OffRoadZone back in January and it came with a free YouDrive day. Because of Covid I wasn’t able to take advantage of that until now. But my wife and I have just had a fabulous day of dune bashing in the Dubai desert in our wonderful old Jeep. What a car! It coped with everything that the new Jeeps could do, as we were led through the sand by our excellent guide and lead driver David. I highly recommend this activity - whether with your own 4x4 or with one of OffRoadZone’s rental Jeeps.

Fantastic trip self driving in the desert. David (our guide/instructor) was excellent. Self driving the 4WD Jeeps in the desert was great fun and an experience no tot be missed. Scary and exhilarating at times but a truly unique experience. We travelled as a family of four (with two teenagers) and all thoroughly enjoyed the Jeep trip. The driving is really challenging but also great fun. David was an excellent guide who explained how to drive in the sand and provided a challenging but safe trip. Don't miss this experience. It was the highlight of our holiday in Dubai!!!

We had an absolutely brilliant time with Kevin our instructor. He was an excellent teacher and very patient! The desert was beautiful and the scenery was magnificent. I had a half-day self-drive Jeep safari, which I enjoyed a lot. Kevin, my guide, is a super nice guy, he was very helpful and showed me some interesting tactics how not to stuck in the sand. Jeeps are new, very well kept and the trip is very safe. I can strongly recommend this also to families with small kids. I understand they also do multiple days safaries where you spend a few nights in the desert, completely isolated from the outside world (no phone, no internet, etc.). I would like to try that next time together with some friends.

This is the number one thing to do in Dubai! Fabulous day out...picked up promptly from our hotel by David, great staff at the office, clear professional instructions. Lived in Dubai 22 years ago, first trip back (it's changed a little bit!), so this was a must for us to enjoy the dessert once more. Our 'boys' 21 and 22 experienced dessert driving for the first time - great encouragement and guidance from David and we all had a ball. Don't do the 'tourist' chauffeur desert drive, this is soooooo much better, feel how it is to really drive in the desert - you'll have much more fun and the exhilaration and confidence of conquering the route will be remembered for a long time. Wonderfull day driving myself a Jeep Wrangler JKu V6 lifted in the sand dunes following a very qualified leader. If you have never experienced 4X4 in the desert try that. Fun and adrenaline !!!

We had an amazing day and had so much fun in the dunes! Since there were no other guests we had a private tour! After a short training session we headed towards bigger dunes and finally to Fossil Rock. Kevin made a great job and took care of us in every situation. Highly recommend it!
