The Dubai Fountain one of the spectacular view, set sail on a traditional abra ride, and embrace the world’s largest performing fountains allows you to get closer than ever, giving you a whole new perspective of the captivating performances. Guests can start their journey from Burj Park or Fountain promenade and stroll down the 272-meter boardwalk, with the closest point putting you only 9 meters away from the fountains!
It’s a very short ride in the boat, but so worth it to see the fountain up close and all the other buildings and go around the fountain. It’s a long walk to find the check-in desk but definitely worth it. Instructions were helpful when asking people around to find the check-in desk.
We took the 7pm boat ride to coincide with the fountain and light show, we couldn’t have worked it better if we had tried! A pleasant pace on the water with every angle covered for great photos. To see the water and light show whilst on the water was priceless! Definitely worth the price.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we booked the Dubai Fountain at Burj Khalifa Lake on 25 December with pick up at our Hotel which we paid for directly to Orient Tours, the tour was cancelled, at the last minute we are still waiting to be refunded for the pick, they are a scam company, not sure what VIATOR is actually doing to get our money back???
I booked the Dubai Lake Ride (Ref 1340003401) as the final highlight of our trip. Viator sent a confirmed ticket, so I reasonably trusted that everything was organised. What happened instead was an absolute disaster. 1. The operator refused us — said they were full When we arrived, the local operator told us they had no space. We showed them our confirmed booking — they still refused us. 2. Viator’s support was even worse I contacted Viator immediately on WhatsApp: • I explained we had a confirmed booking • I told them the operator said we weren’t on the list • I told them we were physically at the location • I told them we were devastated, this was our last day Their responses were slow, dismissive, and robotic. 3. Viator claimed: “We didn’t receive any notification” Then later changed the story and said the operator told them it was a holiday and the tour was cancelled. This was completely false — the tour WAS operating, just oversold. I even told Viator that directly. 4. They admitted it was a “system error” In their own words: “It was a system error that booking is confirmed but… it is already full.” So a “confirmed ticket” means absolutely nothing. 5. No attempt to fix the situation I repeatedly begged them to help: “PLEASE HELP ME” “I want to do the activity as paid for” “This is so sad” “This is distressing” “Please try and fix it” Their answer: “There’s nothing we can do.” No backup option, no alternative operator, no compensation. Nothing. 6. The only solution they offered was a refund — in 3–7 business days We’re in Dubai right now, on our last day. We needed the money returned immediately so we could book another activity. Their reply: “As much as I wanted to return your money immediately I have no access to that.” So Viator gets to keep our money for a week while providing zero service. 7. This ruined our final day in Dubai This was supposed to be the final highlight of our trip. Instead we were left stranded with: • No activity • No support • No compensation • No money returned • A completely disappointed family 8. Misleading, unprofessional, and unacceptable Viator sold a “confirmed ticket” for a tour that had no availability. They then offered no real assistance beyond a delayed refund. I now understand why so many travellers say Viator is not reliable. I will be attaching screenshots of the entire WhatsApp chat to show exactly how this unfolded — the lies, the excuses, and the lack of any real help. Avoid Viator at all costs. Book directly with reputable local operators or through companies that actually honour their confirmations.
A Nice short boat trip with great foto and video opportunities, but it's a mess trying to retrieve the tickets. It's better to have a lot of time in advance.
This was definitely worth it. It was so cool to see the fountain so close and the view all around it was really magical. It’s also inexpensive. I definitely recommend.
This was awesome. Very convenient. Didn't have to wait in the line. Got to ride the boat at given time even though it was the pick tourist season of the year.
A charming trip on the Burj Lake Boat Ride. We booked this well in advance of visiting Dubai and it was a pleasant surprise. A nice alternative view of the daily fountain show and a nice way to see the Lake area

Very well organized. Worth every penny! It could have been a little longer than 20-30 minutes but it was OK.
The boat ride is peaceful, relaxed, & great for watching the display closed up. We have been before, chose to do it again.
Amazing time loved every minute worth the money and would highly recommend doing this trip nice to experience the fountains without all the hassle of the crowds.
The fountains were awesome. Better to see from the boat as the Burj Khalifa was in the background lit up like a xmas tree. Just fabulous.
Boat ride was nice. I’m glad I did it at night since it is July and really hot. The staff was very thoughtful and organized.

I thought this was a fantastic way of watching the fountains. Really beautiful. Not signed posted very well though. You change your print out or scan at the desk inside, the same desk as "At the top". Then you go outside to the boat.
At the bottom of the Burj Khalifa is a manmade lake with fountains (a copy of The Bellagio of sorts). Unlike in the original, you can get onboard a boat that takes you around the lake and you can watch the fountain show whilst sitting in the boat. They have an ample supply of boats on the lake so even when it's busy the wait is not long. Unlike in Las Vegas the air does not smell of marijuana (currently a massive problem in Las Vegas). The boats are clean and well maintained (something you can say about all of Dubai). The music that the fountains are choreographed to match is not as recognisable as that used in the original, it is still very well done. I don’t think you get a better view of the fountains from the boats; it does seem to elevate the fountain experience and you get to sit and take photos. All the seats on the boat give a great view and the pilots will try to help you get a good photo.
It was magical experience to view the fountain show from the boat. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended
The trip was nice but not super special. We could see the same things from the shore. For others I would recommend a later time when it is dark.
A great tour, was the perfect amount of time to then head to a nice dinner on the water. Boat wasn't crowded so there was plenty of opportunity to take photos.
Great show, but hardly worth the money or time to wait for your turn to see it slightly closer up. I agree with the previous review that you should expect to wait an hour past your ticket time.
The time you are given is not your time you just join the q and hope to get on or wait for the next one average waiting of one hour
