A raw, lovely mix of desert and beach, away from the city and typical resort feel. October was still too hot, but we enjoyed the 4pm visit to the mangroves. Ask about tickets at the main tent.
The pool is nice but needs constant cleaning due to insects; not sure if it’s heated in winter. The kids’ club has no supervision, just a screen and colouring supplies.
Enjoy sunset beach walks to spot crabs 🦀, wake up early to see roaming oryx, and explore the tents on the free bicycles 🚲, which we all loved!
This was my second stay at Kingfisher Retreat, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The tent was elegant, clean, and beautifully designed, and the private pool was excellent with the perfect water temperature.
I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary tent upgrade without requesting it, which made me feel valued as a returning guest.
The service was exceptional throughout the stay. Everyone—from reception and the boat captain to the buggy drivers and restaurant staff—was friendly, professional, and very helpful.
A special thank you to Mr. Akshi at the restaurant, who kindly made my additional main course complimentary, even though I was happy to pay for it. It was a thoughtful gesture and a great example of the hotel’s outstanding hospitality.

We had an amazing stay at Kingfisher Retreat. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, and very comfortable, offering a unique experience surrounded by nature. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday during our stay, and the team made it extra special by wishing him a happy birthday and surprising us with a lovely cake.
A special thanks to Yubi, who was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and made us feel truly welcomed.

We had a really great stay. The whole place has a very calm and relaxing feel to it, which made it easy to just switch off and enjoy the trip.
One of the best parts was definitely the staff. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful, and Ahmed, the activity advisor, really stood out. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time, which we really appreciated.
The food was also very good, and the chef deserves credit for that. I also liked that they were flexible with the food and happy to prepare things the way we preferred.
We booked four tents, and everything went smoothly. Moving between the tents was easy with the golf carts and bikes, so it never felt like a hassle.
Overall, it was a lovely experience and a place I’d be happy to visit again.
