We had a wonderful day on this tour. I loved that it was a small group. Our tour guide Anna was wonderful. She and driver picked us up on time. Anna gave us clear instructions and explained what we will do. We had sufficient time in each stop to explore and enjoy the beautiful sites. We also did a lot of hiking. The trails are wonderfully maintained and marked. All the places are beautiful. I am very happy we did this tour.

Beautiful thoughtful and full day 9 or so miles hiking; moderately challenging. Not for those who are not moderately active.
Our day trip to both Saxon & Bohemian Switzerland National Park was a good experience. We enjoyed the small groups and appreciated the picking up and dropping off right at our hotel. The hiking was more challenging than expected and advised but we all tried hard to make it. John was such a great tour guide, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. He always looked back and checked to make sure everyone was safe and sound, stopped and waited and supported the slowest person. Thank you so much, John, for taking good care of us.
Let me start my feedback on the people who made this day possible. First of all, many thanks to our guide Dalibora who provided us with great commentary in both English and Spanish and she offered me her seat next to the driver because the seat I was supposed to sit on was broken. She also helped sorting my lunch at the restaurant when I was served something other than what I ordered. I really appreciated her gestures. She is also a walking encyclopedia, she knew every little detail about the places we visited. Continuing with the people, we actually had 3 drivers during the day. The 1st driver was Milos who didn't speak much English but he also didn't make us feel safe in the van. He used quick steering wheel moves trying not to crash into incoming traffic and he also almost crashed into traffic standing at traffic lights, breaking hardly at the very last minute instead of slowing down normally. These are just a few examples to illustrate my negative feedback on him and the other participants were also complaining about his careless driving. The 2nd driver Milan was fantastic, I had a great chat with him (in English) and he drove safely and carefully. I didn't catch the name of our 3rd driver who drove us back to our hotels but he knew a little English and he was a great driver as well. The experience itself was exactly as advertised, we were taken to great photo spots and walked across the Bastei Bridge before going to visit the Pravčická Archway in Czech Republic, which was a place where hiking shoes are recommended over ordinary sneakers. Then we had lunch where 1 drink was also included, I had a delicious pint of dark Kozel on draft. We then visited the Kamenice Gorge which is absolutely beautiful. We hopped in a boat large enough to fit everyone and went on a lovely boat trip on the Kamenice River. There was a lot of walking the whole day, since I booked the Hiking version of this tour but it was worth it and we had an amazing day.
This was an unforgettable experience. Breathtaking scenery throughout. The tour was well managed, but read the comments. There is about 9 miles of hiking up and down steep hills. It was perfect for me, but not necessarily for all.
Our tour guide Mira was such a nice person. It was a wonderful trip. Especially, the fun game in the Trecny forest, of identifying shapes from the the sandstone rocks was fun. The drive was good, very safe, very smooth.
A truly wonderful and inspirational experience—stunning views, great company, an excellent guide, and a delicious lunch on top of the cake! I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful scenery, but the hiking part was quite challenging at some parts with steep steps, uneven rocks. The tour was well managed and hotel pick up is definitely needed because you will be so exhausted after full day hiking.
A nice change from exploring the cities. Our tour of 8 started in Dresden, and we met another group from Prague at the first stop. Our total tour size was about 16 people, and our tour guide was excellent. The first stop was at a park with restroom facilities; it was a nice easy walk with beautiful views. The second stop was at a rural trail where you hike uphill on a sandy uneven path to view the arch, much more challenging than the first stop, no facilities until you reach the top where there are bathrooms and a little restaurant. After coming back down we went to lunch, it was delicious and included a meal and a drink. I had the venison, and it was very good. The third stop was the boat tour where you hike down a switchback trail to a gorge where the boat tour is. It was very pretty but after the first two stops our legs were getting tired. The walk back up the steep hill was challenging with tired legs. In my opinion, I think the tour could have ended after lunch and it would not have changed the experience. Overall, we really liked the tour, it was a wonderful change of pace from touring city streets and museums, and we would highly recommend it. This tour is not for out those who are unsteady on their feet, people with recent surgery or those who are not in decent physical condition. Wear good sneakers or hiking shoes and layers.
It was wonderful, enjoyable and informative trip. Mira - the guide and driver - was fantastic. We spent a wonderful time exploring the sights and hiking.
Mira, our guide and driver, did a great job. However, the hike would have been much easier if the company had provided hiking sticks, even if it was for a fee. It had rained the day before, so some sections were slippery, so my husband and I had to be careful. It was a blessing that we didn't slip or get hurt. I heard that similar tour programs provide hiking sticks. Keep up the good work 👏
Well organised, very professional and nice guide. I would only advise to be prepared for more walking that originally expected.
Viator does not make it clear that this is a day of hiking. I absolutely loved it but fortunately am relatively fit. My guide Yvette and the driver (apologies I don’t know her name) were fantastic. Highly recommend to those seeking a hiking experience in these magnificent mountains
The views were amazing. We had perfect weather for the hiking and exploring. Our driver, Daniel was very sweet and attentive to our needs. Elli, our tour guide was wonderful. She answered our questions and was very informative about the areas we saw. Lunch was delicious! Goulash, potato dumplings, and Schnitzel can’t be beat. Would do this again.
Our lovely guide met us at the NH Collection hotel in Dresden at 8 a.m we had pre booked but truthfully we weren’t expecting the climbs to be so hard, even so it was worth every step, the information was good, we started at the Bastei, the views over the river Elba were amazing, didn’t think we would see anything as good, next we went over the border to Czech Republic, to go down to the Kamenice gorge, Where the rock formations were just as brilliant, afterwards we had lunch in a lovely little restaurant, food was good, then finally on to Pravicka Gate, the icing on the cake. This is not an easy walk, if we had gone on our own l don’t think we would have seen all three, but so glad we did, even if it means today we hurt to move. We cannot thank the group and the guide for encouraging us to keep going.
Seeing the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Park with Edward, our tour guide and Miro, our driver, was an enjoyable experience. The Bastei Bridge and Pravcicka Brana Arch were exhilarating to see among the picturesque sandstone mountains. I found the long hikes good exercise and rewarding when I saw the sights. Edward was gracious to help me and my old legs climb some of the steep ascents.
The natural beauty of this part of Germany and Czech Republic is stunning! Edward was a really patient, easy going guide. This journey is a cannot miss.
Our tour group was small only 6 including the guide. Our guide, Mira was amazing, he is very knowledgeable about the sites. All three hikes were tough, but very rewarding. The views were breathtaking.
Beautiful scenic experience. Good lunch. Roman was a friendly and knowledgeable guide! But beware there is a lot of up and down hiking.
This was an awesome experience. The views are gorgeous, the drive was comfortable and quite fast. Míra is a great guide who will tell you a lot about the history of Saxony. The tour also included a boat trip and a nice lunch. Definitely recommend :)
The guide was amazing, gave a great tour. She was sensitive to my needs being unable to do the multi level hikes. The driver was also very good. The lunch which was included in the price was amazing, best I have ever had on a tour.
Mira was the most incredible guide, from picking us up in Dresden to showing us amazing places and explaining the history. It was a bit of hiking but broken up nicely. Thank you!
Everything was great! The guide and drivers were very kind and polite. The trip was very relaxing, without any hurry. We stopped at a few viewpoints, had a couple of hikes, launch and a boat trip. The quality of this tour is excellent. Highly recommend!
The team here is so incredibly nice! Very impressive sights, an absolutely wonderful break from city sightseeing and museum crowds. Hosts were informative and engaging, very patient with the guests, and helpful every step of the way. I can't thank them enough for the experience, highly recommend the tour! It can be a bit exhausting if you aren't in good shape or a gym rat, but the hosts made sure to give us a clear idea of what to expect and had enough time that even those who paused were able to spend time at the locations. They also organized the activities to give us rest periods in the day. Food options were satisfying and delicious, and the pick up/drop off makes this a super convenient excursion. 👏 Hands down an absolutely gorgeous way to spend the day and ran by a wonderful group of people!q
Absolutely beautiful scenery! Our guide Ivet was lovely and knowledgeable. Hiking and lunch were as described. I was picked up and dropped off directly at my doorstep in Dresden which was amazing. There were some logistical hiccups due to being a combined group with people coming from Prague (I didn’t know this prior to), and we ended up running a couple hours late. It didn’t bother me, but it did happen. The experience for the price was exactly what I wanted. Would recommend!
We had a great time. Our guide Mira was lovely, the hiking was amazing, not too difficult. The view was stunning. Would recommend to do this trip if you’re in Dresden.
We really enjoyed this trip to the national park. The guide Mira was lovely, the hiking was good and the view excellent. We recommend this trip.
The views of the Arch and the river were incredible. There is quite a bit of hiking and the guide was very nice and attentive to all the guests. She gave directions to the faster hikers and stayed with the slower ones. Also, the lunch that is provided was delicious.
It was a good hiking activity with magnificent view. We have enjoyed the company of our guide, Dali, as well!
Fantastic trip. A few more steps than O thought, being 80. Guide and all arrangements were excellent!
Amazing views but 3 very hard hikes for those of us who have sedentary desk jobs. The guides are willing to wait for you, but that does lengthen the trip for all. The guides spoke good English and shared interesting information on the hikes. My calves are killing me, but I would do it again. If you have knee issues the steepness of the river will be a challenge.
We had a lovely day out with Mira. He's an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw the Bastei bridge before it got too busy. We walked a long way uphill (with lots of steps) to see the Pravcicka arch but the views at the top were worth it. Later we visited Kamenice Gorge (walk and boat ride). It's very pretty and nice and cool. You walk a long way down so have to walk a long way back up (lots of steps). Mira walked slowly and didn't rush us. I (50+ and not super fit) was pretty tired by the end of the day but would recommend and definitely do it again.
The tour was excellent. Well organised, friendly local guide Yvette. Saw three separate areas of the national park in one day. Would recommend. Fionnuala
Our tour guide was amazing! We were the only couple from Dresden and she drove out personally to pick us up. The hikes were lovely with a small group of twelve. The views couldn’t be beat and the pace was very reasonable. Lunch was very tasty. My wife had venison goulash and i had the beef in garlic sauce and I can recommend both. We got chased off the final hike to the sandstone arch by bad weather but still had plenty of time to do what we needed to do. My only regret is doing the tour on four hours of sleep after a Rammstein concert! Don’t hesitate to book, these guys are great and will take care of you.
Trip was well organized and on time, really nice area, tour guide was great. Beware that you need at least moderate level of fitness as the trip has a lot of hiking with incline and decline as you climb and descend from the top.
Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone looking at this tour. The description does not accurately describe the intensity involved. I am a 58 year-old nurse on my feet all the time and do lots of traveling, including all over Europe, where walking is a requirement. In the states I do leisurely hiking and I realized that this was going to be more than a leisurely hike. What I didn’t realize was the difficulty of it. It was described as a relaxing, moderate hike. It is an intense, multi terrain hike that requires good joints and lots of stamina. Myself and others were unable to complete the tour because of the difficulty. That being said if you are an avid hiker used to all terrain, able to climb down and up 1700 m over rocks and logs and stone steps that are slippery without railings in many places then this is the tour for you. The views are stunning. But for me they were not worth the stress it put on my body , it is also basically three hikes to look at pretty similar landscapes. Very little information given to us by our guides on what to expect or interesting facts along the ride from place to place. Not the kind of tour that I’m used to. Even the younger people on our tour who did complete all the hikes, did not seem thrilled at the end of the day with the experience. Most of our companions seemed to be drugging themselves through the day.
It was a great day. First off, this is not a stroll through the woods. Parts of these hikes can be strenuous and you need to be able to walk uphill for a good, long while. The scenery was very pretty and the views were great. It is an all day adventure, but well worth the time.
I was picked up promptly at my hotel in Dresden by Míra, the guide for the day. Míra is a warm and friendly Czech grandpa who speaks English, Spanish, Czech and more. Even though we were the only two guests from Dresden, he still came all the way from the Czech Republic to pick us up and drive us to and from the national parks. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and knows how to optimally route guests for the best views throughout the day. Speaking of views, these views are mindblowing and definitely something you have to see in person to believe. The hike was not super challenging and Míra was very patient with folks who needed a bit more time -- "after all, you are on holiday" -- as he says. Lunch at the Czech restaurant was super tasty! We had goulash, grilled fresh caught local trout and Czech beer. Ample water and snacks are available for when you need them. It was great meeting other people on the tour as well; we were joined by guests from all over the world. Please book this tour, you will remember the views and the good company for the rest of your life. And do it with Cayman Travel, they are a small company with top notch service!
Was asked to bring forward my tour date but guide was nice and message was polite so i acceded. Amazing scenery & comfortable ride. The journey wasn't too long and our guide and driver was friendly. Value for money! You'll need to hike a little! Highly recommended.
Booked this tour to visit Bohemian Switzerland with my mom. Very easy scheduling, timely pickup, our tour guide had a great personality. Somehow it was just two of us that day so it was a luxurious experience. We’ve got to see everything at our pace and got to learn a lot from the guide. Thank you for a great tour!
I booked the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Park Day Trip from Dresden directly from the company's website. Everything went smoothly. I was picked up at 8am by a lovely guide in a small black volvo who walked into the hotel lobby to find me (passengers from Prague got pick up in a van - no company logo on the car or van). Turns out the company will go ahead with running the tour even if only one person books, in order to not disappoint travellers (how nice is this! A contrast to other tour companies). They had extra bottles of water and snacks in case required (but really you should bring your own water/snacks for a hiking trip!)
A good mix of hiking n scenic photo op for this trip. Great lunch n beer...ride o Saxon park is between 45 min to 1hr from Dresden.
This tour was amazing. Our tour guide William was incredible. He was extremely entertaining, great sense of humor and very informative. I've never hiked before but William works many small breaks into the hike so you can catch your breath. And you'll need to save some breath because the views are breathtaking! The traditional Czech lunch we had half way through the day was also excellent as well. I would highly recommend booking this tour!
The views were amazing, Our first stop was very misty and cleared after a short time so we were about to get the views. You do need a good level of fitness as lots of steep steps at the river section, down and back up but are rewarded with lunch afterwards. It is a steady climb at the third park. It was a great day out and I recommend it for something different to do while in that part of the world.
Tours of Saxon/Bohemian Switzerland run out of both Dresden, Germany and Prague, Czechia. I wish I had known about this place when I was in Prague a few years ago and had some empty time to fill. Great to break up the city exploration with some time in nature doing mild/moderately challenging hiking with rewarding views. Tour operator was also very accommodating managing to merge me in with a Prague group when I ended up being the only guest from Dresden booked for that day. I was worried they'd end up cancelling on me but they made something work when they heard I couldn't reschedule.
We had such a nice day visiting these top locations in the Dresden area! Everything was perfectly organized, our guide, Mira took excellent care of us, answering all our questions and giving us tips for our future trips. The views were breathtaking and the boat trip was amazing ! The hike was moderate, we walked quite a bit and were pretty tired, especially since we had a hot day. Make sure you wear sunscreen, comfy shoes and clothes and keep your backpack light, you can leave any heavy things in the van. Since you'll be in two countries, and quite remotely, make sure you have some cash on hand, euro's work just fine in Czech Rep. Water was provided during the day and the lunch was delicious! Definitely recommended 👍
This tour was so much fun. Not only did I get to see the things of interest I wanted to see but the guide was informative and very helpful. You can’t miss with the stunning views from the Bastei Bridge and of the Pravcicka Gate (sandstone arch). We also had a very nice lunch at a Czechian restaurant by a gorge. I was picked up and dropped off at my hotel after a full day of hiking and sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this tour 👍
Pick up was on time. Cool and comfortable van with AC. Free lunch was better than expected. The views were breathing taking. The boat ride between the mountains was the highlight of the trip. It was nice hiking even though the temperature was 31 degree in August. The hike was not very challenging but involves quite a bit of walking up and down, 5 people in my group over 50 years old made it no problem! I think everyone loved it! At the end I fell asleep and the van dropped me back to my hotel. The tour is defo the highlight of my trip in Germany/Czech republic.
This was a fun day!! Beautiful part of the world! And Mirra (sorry on spelling?), our guide, was very friendly and he talked about some history at some points along the way. Hiking tip, bring sunblock or an umbrella as there is some intense sun exposure in the part where the forest burned. Lunch is included but definitely pack snacks, long day of adventuring!
Had a great time in this tour, our guide William is very knowledgeable, funny and likeable person. They picked me up and drop me at my hotel, the group was small (3 ppl). We hiked, had a boat trip and lunch. Totally recommended.
