A very unique experience - driving an iconic GDR era car through Dresden while learning more about it's history and landmarks. Something completely different and a nice way to round off a visit to Dresden. Guide was very accommodating and managed the experience in a fun but professional manner.

This was a must tour in Dresden. My wife and I did the 2.15 hour tour and it went by very fast. I would suggest that each person get there own vehicle unless you want to keep switching. The shifting takes while to get used to, but it was a blast. The tour location in Berlin is in the city center. However, in Dresden, it is about 4 miles outside the city center.
I was the only customer that day, and so instead of guiding from a car in front, Marius, an engineering student at TU-Dresden, sat next to me and guided me on our tour of Dresden in a classic Trabi. Until you've actually driven a Trabant you'll never appreciate how good the Yugo was! Marius' English was very good and he was an excellent tour guide. This experience is unique and highly recommended!
It is a special experience to drive the Trabi in convoy through Dresden. Especially if you've never driven it before. The information about the city is almost incidental.
This tour is a highlight! Peter, our guide, was able to get us excited about his hometown in a friendly way! He hit the right note between technical jargon and casual colloquial language. The organization and the little gift at the end were also top notch! We recommend this event without reservation!
Very nice experience. After a short briefing, we drove through Dresden in a Trabi. We were connected to a loudspeaker and received a lot of information during the journey. The group always stayed together in a convoy. The tour is highly recommended.
An experience, you learn a lot about the city and have fun. But it's not cheap. It's recommended and definitely worth the experience.
Mistook the date with the Trabifahrt and wanted to cancel or rebook the whole thing (for 5 people). Nowhere did I get an answer or help . So the Trabifahrt took place on 08.07.2023 without us and the € 295.- were gone and Tripadvisor was happy . Will definitely not book here again !!!
We were warmly welcomed by Micha, who gave a brief introduction to the process and the manual of the Trabi's. Then it started already. Micha gives very precise instructions over the radio, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. You're a little busy when you're driving with manual gears for the first time. The route is also very nice. The main sights are visited and there is a small stop for a possible driver change at the Hygiene Museum. The tour was really fun. We would definitely book again.
Es war eine wunderbare Erfahrung, es hat viel Spaß gemacht. Das grinsen im Gesicht ging gar nicht mehr weg. Vielen Dank an unseren coolen Guide Marius. Alles war zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Beste Grüße aus Dresden
A great experience! The grinning faces of (tourist) passers-by are worth gold. But certainly not for beginners so without assistants and disc brakes :-)
We wanted to experience Dresden from a different perspective with a group of 9 people - through the windows of a Trabant. We roared through Dresden in a convoy of 5 Trabi ́s (3 cars of our group, a couple with separate car plus lead vehicle), on the way there were amusing, entertaining and informative things from the guide in the lead vehicle via radio, during a break we exchanged initial "experiences", there was technical information about the car from the guide and a driver change. Even "Trabbi newbies" got along well with these archaic vehicles after a short time, the driving is really fun, you see parts of the city that are not otherwise shown in a "tour" and there was "bustling exchange" with passers-by everywhere, who were apparently happy about the Trabi train on the way through the city. The guide was really likeable, exude a professional calm, the whole thing was a really successful part of our Dresden trip, highly recommended!
A mega tour! Can only recommend! Quite funny is where you get there then only the Trabbis standing there 😂 the introduction to the “manual transmission” alone already worth seeing... if you love to ride a gocard is just the thing! You can see u hear a lot of interesting because every car is connected to the guide via radio! It was mega! Anytime again An absolute MUST if you are already in Dresden 👍👍😍😍😍 100 points
The Trabi ride was awesome! I've always wanted to drive around with a cardboard. It's a completely different driving experience than with today's cars, but it definitely has its charm! The tour was very interesting (and the comments were also very funny in part), so it was really fun! It somehow fits together with a Trabi to do a little history tour in live through beautiful Dresden. I can only recommend this tour!
.....to the otherwise somewhat dusty Dresden! I already knew the principle from Berlin and I have to say it was absolutely worth it in Dresden as well. We got with dog and wheelchair especially the station wagon, which was very attentive. Alex took us around town great and told us a lot of great things. It's an absolute pleasure to board around with the rickety and smelly Trabbis! We will do the next one in Berlin!
We booked this tour to see how a Trabi rides and learn more about Dresden at the same time. Everything was great, it was fun and we can only recommend it.
We did this Trabitour with friends. It was a lot of fun. Our guide was very nice and his information about Dresden very interesting. You just have to experience this tour.
My first driving lesson with Trabi 😂😂😂 Simple instruction because of gearshift and clutch and off we went !!! The guide was the absolute blast He explains it so super and interesting about the city and your places and we were not at the 0815 places where every tourist is !!!! I can only miss every couple or family to do the tour !!! Kind regards, From Switzerland Sylvia and René
We really liked the tour. The guide told us a lot of interesting things about Dresden during the ride and was very friendly. It was a great tour.
It was just a super nice experience. We were in Dresden and could see the beautiful sides of the city through the tour. The guide who drives at the very front could tell us a lot.
If you want to see something in Dresden and hear about the story, it is in your own trotbi with a personal guide. Driving, as in the former GDR. Experience and feel how it used to be and get many inofs next to it. A MUST!
It was an unforgettable event and after a brief introduction to the circuit and special features, it was ready to go. Time flew by and we would book this tour again at any time.
On our tour we were allowed to ride the “Schorsch”. After so many years of riding Trabi again was really fun, although from today's point of view it already seems a bit like a soapbox. Big praise to the presenter who kept all Trabis together and explained the sights in German and English.
Everything was great! It's a lot of fun! Very good moderation and organization!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can only be recommended!
We are a troupe of 4 couples and went with 4 Trabis. It was a lot of fun and was very much managed over the radio. Recommended!
I gave the tour to my parents and they loved it. Both the "adventurous" ride with the Trabi and the competent guide left a lasting impression!
Cult city tour, nice guide. Was a lot of fun.Absolutely recommended. Just the looks of passers-by:)
The vehicles are already unique - a bit getting used to but awesome! The next positive surprise was the explanations of the guide: authentic, humorous - you can tell: he lives it. Here you have really learned something about the modern history of Dresden first hand. Really only recommended!
The tour as a gift for our son (17) was a direct hit. The tour guide was completely in the fabric as a local and brought the whole thing across (also for our son) interestingly through the radio. Two appropriate breaks in the tour also gave time for a little private chat. At the booked time (on Sundays at noon) there was little traffic on the roads and thus relaxed driving in a well-kept Trabant. After almost 30 years of abstinence, I hardly had any problems driving. Our son has been looking for an affordable Trabi...
Sympathetic and humorous guide with whom the tour was fun. We would even do the same tour again.
I gave away the Trabi ride and was there as a passenger. It was a great afternoon. It brought back memories of the time when I was still riding Trabi myself. And even I, as a native of Dresden, learned something new from the information we got while driving.
I bought my voucher for the Trabi Safari for 30. Received birthday. At first I was rather skeptical, because I only witnessed 5 years of GDR and only know stories of warming up the baby milk bottle at the windshield heater or something. So I was allowed to immerse myself with my husband and children in the world of possibly the most luxurious transport option of ordinary-earning East German citizens. It was worth it! We had more fun than we thought. With wit and feeling, the guide responded optimally to the clientele - even bilingually (English and German). Local people love their Trabis and their job. High praise. The feeling of having moved such a vehicle, to operate the extraordinary gearshift and almost yell at each other because of the volume was a lot of fun.:) It's somethingTouris who not only want luxury and noblesse, here is something for heart and soul. The handling tone is human and not offbeat and really all 20 participants were on the same wavelength in no time. I found it great and can only recommend looking at the cardboard up close and feeling the typical reng-de-deng-deng deng under the butt. Have fun to those who dare!!!
Great tour. Great weather had and much seen and experienced by Dresdem. Driving Trabi is really fun! Thanks also to our guide Micha! I'm sure we'll do that again!
Full of enthusiasm we registered our friends with 6 people online for the Trabbi Safari in Dresden and paid a proud 414€ (!!!) for 2hours immediately! Unfortunately we arrived a few minutes late to the departure point (we tried to reach someone else by phone, which was unfortunately an impossibility on Saturdays!)! Well...and then the rip-off started: the booked tour was just gone (we saw the 3 trotting away), but we were then told that there was NO way that we could participate in this or a following tour without paying 414€ (!!!) again! Reasons? There aren't any, but the boss would have ordered that! When asked if we could talk to the boss: a clear NO, he does not want that! Would the afternoon drive be fully booked? NO, but we still couldn't ride! In search of a solution we were left completely alone... Accommodation: ZERO! You already had our €414 - and without any expenses! In order to give our friends at least the feeling of trotting briefly, we then asked if at least on the yard everyone could drive 1 lap...was also rejected because the boss forbids this and constantly checks the yard via video surveillance...! Almost like in the GDR then...! Inordinately disappointed and bruised for 414€ we then went and can only warn everyone about this provider!!!
Even me as an old Ossi who never owned a Trabbi has to say: "only those who drove him can really have a say" My grandchildren (8 and 12) were blown away. Sure, once on vacation and not forever, but they just thought it was awesome.
I planned the tour on good luck from home, everything went over the net. I was excited like a bow because I didn't know if the others liked it either. We did the tour as a four in two Trabis, as the weather was super good, we took the convertible. The guide was great, knew about everything and "still" had the right stories in store. All around a great trip, you just have to have made times.
My wife was desperate to ride Trabi - so we did that now. It was a great thing. Our "guide" was very entertaining. The children (one per Trabi each) also enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommended!
We were recommended the Trabi Safari and made it as a family of 4 (boys aged 17 and 14). You sit quite comfortably in the Trabi even with big children. We drove with 4 Trabis incl. Trabiguide. Pure fun - everything seen and it was explained very well and funny by the live host. Would recommend this tour to anyone - a MUST in Dresden and better than always just to tour on the bus.
With a group of 5 joys we did the Trabi tour through Dresden. The action was a direct hit. You get to see the most important of Dresen and riding Trabi is just great fun. Unfortunately, we could not drive past the inner old town (eg at the Frauenkirche) because at the time the bridge was not navigable. Otherwise, it was really a successful action. The Trabis are in relatively good shape and smoke exactly as you imagine and wish. Definitely an eye-catcher. Our tour guide was competent and friendly. Driving the Trabi (26 hp) 70km/h is a real experience. At the end we were able to visit the small Trabi museum.
Very nice and informative tour of Dresden with an excellent tour guide. Although no one else except the two of us booked the tour that day, it was done. Sightseeing for two... Great, thanks
We were also looking forward to Trabi World on Sat. 30.09.17. BUT... we were stuck in traffic. We left early and also left the highway, but we were still only 2:20 p.m. at the meeting point. It just couldn't be done. Around 1:30 p.m. I called the only phone number available, which was in Berlin. A Mr. Martin contacted and recommended us to call again shortly before the agreed time (at 14:00). When it was foreseeable that, despite all our efforts, we would not be able to get there in time, I contacted again in the hope that they would be informed in Dresden. When we arrived in Dresden, everyone was already gone. The "boss" - I didn't ask for the name - explained the reasons to us, which of course we understand, but we were still the ones who suffered. He told us that no call had been made from Berlin. Our absence did not result in Trabi vehicle costs or any other loss. And then why should you call in when there are delays? There was also no call back to us. There's nothing you can do about unforeseen traffic jams. Our repeated request: to give us the voucher again (even if it is only part of it ) was rejected without plausible justification. It remains incomprehensible to us. And doesn't show for customer friendliness.
