Wine Experience With A Sommelier

If you book a wine tour in the Douro Valley, ask for Tiago at Douro Feeling! My husband and I had such a fun day with him. He’s spent years living in the area and working in the wine industry, and he knows the valley inside and out. We learned so much about the wines we were tasting, and some of our favorite conversations of the day were about Portuguese history and culture with Tiago. Tiago took us to two beautiful wineries for tastings, then to a third for an incredible multi-course lunch and another tasting. Eduardo gave us a fantastic tour of the first winery (Lavradores de Feitoria) which was a larger company. He was so knowledgeable, and it was very cool to see the stages of making wine from the grapes to the production to the bottling and aging. At the second winery (Wine & Soul), Rui gave us a real feel for how a smaller local winery makes its wines, down to stomping the grapes barefoot! We came away with a much greater appreciation for the work behind every glass, and we loved the wines at both places so much that we bought multiple bottles to take home. Tiago also took us on a boat ride on the Douro River, and we got to open a bottle of sparkling wine with a sabre. This was such a nice touch and we really enjoyed it. As memorable as all of that was, Tiago is the reason we would recommend this particular tour. He was so kind and easy to talk to, and spending the day with him felt like having a friend show us around his favorite places. We will be sending all of our friends and family his way when they visit the Douro. Thank you, Tiago, for such a wonderful day! 10/10 book this tour!

Spent a fabulous day working th Bruno visiting unique wine producers. Helios, the owner worked out a customized tour based on our interests. Our guide Bruno was delightful and well-informed. Highly recommend using Duoro Feeling if you are serious about learning about and tasting the more interesting wines of Duoro and having fun.

We spent time with Bruno and had a wonderful afternoon. The one hour boat ride was just enough for us and then we were taken to a vineyard the company works with. Delightful guide there and good wine. Bruno was helpful and open about the area, the wine industry and the challenges facing all of the above. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I spent an incredible day exploring the Douro Valley with Bruno , and it was easily on of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal! From the moment Bruno picked us up, he made us feel welcome and completely taken care of. He was incredibly knowledgable about the region, genuinely funny, and an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. What made the experience so special was how personal everything felt. Bruno had thoughtful surprises planned throughout the day, including an unforgettable private wine cellar tasting. And one of the coolest moments? He actually taught my wife how to saber a bottle of champagne! How often do you get to do something like that?! Of course, the wineries, tastings, and scenery were spectacular, but what we'll remember most is the time we spent with Bruno. The conversations and laughter made the day feel less like a guided tour and more like exploring the Douro Valley with a good friend. If you're visiting the Douro Valley, I cannot recommend Douro Feeling enough. And if you have the opportunity, specifically request Bruno. He went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, and we would book with him again in a heartbeat.

An unforgettable day in the Douro! Bruno put together a private, all-day wine tour that was beautiful from start to finish. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen. Inez at Quinta Foz was an absolute highlight: warm, knowledgeable, and so generous with her time. Lunch at Sandeman was phenomenal, with incredible food and views to match. And the olive oil tasting at Dois Lagares was unreal. We’re still talking about it. To cap it all off, the boat ride on the river at the end of the day was truly special, the perfect way to take in the valley and let the whole day sink in. Bruno handled every detail so seamlessly that all we had to do was enjoy. End to end, a really beautiful experience and easily one of the best days of our trip. If you’re heading to the Douro, book with Bruno!

I highly recommend Douro Feeling tour company! They planned a perfect itinerary for our small group of three who wanted a more personal experience. We were picked up right on time at our doorstep in a Mercedes van. Our tour guide and driver Bruno was kind, professional and highly attentive to us as we went to each location. We also upgraded to a private boat ride around the river, which was so beautiful and peaceful. This experience was worth the cost and we would definitely do it again.

My husband and I had the most amazing day with Bruno our guide who was an amazing host and driver (many hills and small roads). We went to a variety of areas and wineries that were lovely and boutique. Our lunch was by far the highlight of the day, dining next to the vines with a 5-star coursed experience with wine. It was the perfect immersion into the Douro valley, history, wine and hospitality. We cannot wait to return. Stellar day! HIGHLY Recommend!

We had an unforgettable experience with a customized, full day wine tour in the Douro Valley. The tour included a private sommelier / driver with pick up and drop off to and from the hotel. The car was new and very comfortable with a great AC. It also included 2 premium tastings, lunch with pairing at the wineries of our choice. Our guide, Tiago, was outstanding. He was extremely professional, polished, knowledgeable and pleasant to be around for the entire day for 12+ hours. We learnt so much about wine and Portugal from Tiago. He was so patient, kind and funny. He did everything with a smile and made sure we were comfortable providing us with water throughout the day in 30C+ heat!! Thank you for curating an amazing experience for us! We would not hesitate to book another experience when we return.

My husband hired Douro Feeling to help us curate a nice afternoon excursion in the heart of the Douro Valley. Our tour guide and driver was Bruno Migu. He was so kind and funny. We started our adventure having lunch at a lovely hotel terrace overlooking the valley. Bruno then escorted us to Quinta da Foz for a private winery tour and tasting. We then took a boat tour of the Douro River where we saw several vineyards and notable landmarks. Bruno helped us end our tour with a fun surprise. He took us to a scenic lookout point. He provided us some sparkling wine and instructed my husband how to slice open the bottle with a saber. We did an all day Douro valley wine tour with Ricardo. He was an excellent guide and driver, picking us up and the hotel, driving to each destination, and returning us back. He was very knowledgeable about the area, wineries, and the history of the region. His English was excellent and he was very funny and entertaining. We went to several great stops to try both dry and sweet wines. We initially had a boat tour as part of it but Ricardo was able to do a last minute change on our request to do another tasting since we had already done a boat tour. Overall a wonderful tour guide and great experience. Would recommend!

We had an incredible day touring Quinta do Crasto - including a wonderful lunch and wine pairings - and a stop at Quinta do Foz - gorgeous wine and port! We enjoyed a full day of wine tastings and winery tours with Tiogo. Having done similar tours in Napa, Mendoza and Tuscany, this was by far the most comprehensive and enjoyable. We learned so much about local Portuguese wines and ports! Tiogo customized to our interests. We visited 4 wineries, including a 3-course lunch and pairings at one of them. If we return to the Duoro Valley we will book another tour with Duoro Feeling. A+

We booked the wine experience with a sommelier through our hotel. It was such an amazing day. Taogo Silva was our sommelier. He is so passionate about his work, it made us appreciate the experience even more. His added insights at & in between the wineries enhanced the overall experience. We could not recommend him or the experience enough!

From the very beginning, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about wine and the region. Our hotel connected us with Douro Feeling, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience! We were picked up in Porto and visited 3 quintas for tastings and lunch, and then were taken directly to our hotel. We used them again for the drive back to Porto a couple days later. Both cars were super luxurious, clean, and well-equipped. The guides were incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, and had great info and experience in the region. Would highly recommend!

My friend and I did a half day tour with Helio in November 2025. Everything was managed with such special attention to detail, experiencing gems of Douro Valley and vast knowledge of the area/wines. Helio was an expert in guiding us throughout our tour of wineries, lunch and landscapes but most importantly, he was so fun! Highly recommend this company for people interested in learning about Douro/wines and having a great time while doing so.

BEYOND RECOMMEND. Our half day tour was with Helio and he was phenomenal! I could go on and on about how spectacular it was but truly it was Helio that made it such a special day. From start to finish he was so informational and personable, we loved spending the day with him and all the experiences he gave us throughout. He listened to what we had done previously and adapted his itinerary based off what we wanted which was amazing and we appreciated it so much! The whole day was luxurious, fascinating, and one of our favorite days on our vacation. The best way to see the Douro Valley! Helio was a fantastic guide and driver, taking us to small, family-owned wineries where we were given personal tours and tastings of the wonderful wines and olive oils. This was a wonderful experience. Our 2-hour boat ride up the Douro River was lovely. The staff was super friendly and very informative! The wine tasting and food was not only expansive, but also delicious. The information and details we learned about the DV olive & grape terraces/slopes was super interesting. We learned so much about the wine and port made in Portugal as well. We recommend this trip to everyone! Really really a lovely experience!

We recently spent 2 days doing wine tours with Douro Feeling...what an outstanding experience. Our guide, Ricardo, also happens to be a sommelier and expert in the Douro region. From pickup at the hotel to drop-off, he kept us entertained with stories/history about the region, acting as both tour guide and winery expert. We visited seven locations over two days: 1) one specialty wine shop for a private wine tasting 2) a winery that also produced olive oil and jam 3) two lunch locales with wine pairings and 4) 3 wineries. We enjoyed every single one. We also learned how to open a bottle of champage with a saber...an excellent future party trick. If we are able to go back, we would definitely book Ricardo and Douro Feeling for more tours.

This experience was truly fresh and special. I highly recommend this activity to anyone. We had the best time with Pedro! We are frequent travelers from the US, and this tour was unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Pedro was recommended to us by the Six Senses hotel and we are so glad we spent 2 nights in the valley. Pedro was a lovely guide and we all had SO much fun touring Duoro Valley. Both the vineyards we visited were spectacular and we purchased wine from both. We just opened one of our reds and we can confirm it’s even BETTER back home! The sunset boat ride was the best ending to a spectacular day. Thank you Pedro for the most amazing experience! We will definitely be back.

Super day spent with our tour host Helio. He knows what customer service is and has made sure to arm himself with the knowledge of the region and the wine, port and gastronomy. Lunch at Quinta do Portal was the best food experience we had and was enhanced by our host George with his sense of humor and attention to detail. We had an amazing wine tasting experience like no other at Lavradores defeitoria. Eduardo is an individual with tremendous passion and knowledge on the industry. We will be back and most certainly be reliant on Helio as a tour guide.

We are a mother-Daughter from Dallas, Texas and already sophisticated and experienced wine drinkers. We were paired with sommelier Pedro Estevez for a completely private upscale day of visiting wineries and doing tastings. Pedro's knowledge of wine was exceptional as was his advanced knowledge of Portuguese history. We were able to interact with those running the wineries, the operations, etc. We plan to return to the Douro Valley in May 2026 and will absolutely be hiring Pedro and Douro feeling again. Car was immaculate, experience was upscale, sommeliers knowledgeable, what not to love??

We had such a special day thanks to Helio. He was fantastic company and had a great itinerary planned for us. We made for tricky planning by staying in a remote location but everything worked out into a really great day. We visited Quinta de Vale Meao and Quinta do Vale Sabor and had an amazing time at both locations. We had a nice break for lunch with a view at Petiscaria Preguica. It was a nice dining experience in a lovely setting. Helio is not just knowledgeable about wine but the entire Douro region. It was fun learning so much in a fun and relaxed way. This day was a highlight of our trip to Portugal. We are hoping that we can do this again in the future and recommend it to anyone visiting Douro.

We had a fantastic day with our sommelier, Pedro. He was knowledgeable and considerate. We started the day at an organic winery where Eduardo took us on a tour of the vineyard and then showed us the wine making process. The tasting was excellent and our sommelier showed us how you can taste wine properly. We then had an amazing 4 course lunch at Quinta do Porto before heading to a local winery - Quinta do Foz. Then a relaxing 1 hour ride on a traditional Rabelo boat.

We arranged a half day Sommelier tour with Douro Feeling and found the entire experience to be a great value - and a lot of fun. Tiago was respectful of our time, accommodating our wish to stay longer at the first Quinta and a change in meal plans. They recommended excellent wineries based on duration and location of our lodging. The vehicle was luxury and included water and snacks for the ride. I will recommend them to any wine-loving friend visiting the Douro region.

My girlfriend and I booked a full-day tour of several wineries throughout the Douro Valley, and our tour guide / sommelier, Pedro, made it an unforgettable experience. As a relatively less knowledgeable couple when it came to the history of Douro region / wine making more broadly, Pedro was especially helpful, informative, and fun. This is an absolute must when visiting the Douro Valley!

We’re staying at the Six Senses with friends in the Douro Valley and spent a fabulous day with Tiago. From start to finish, he was professional, engaged and informative. We visited two wineries, had a nice lunch at DOC on the terrace, and took a private boat ride. The day flew by and we were sad when it came to an end. We were transported in a Mercedes Van with snacks and water. Tiago not only has insider knowledge of the Douro Valley but he also is knowledgeable about wine. Of course, our group bought some wine at the quintas we visited! Just an amazing experience.

Excellent Tour! We were picked up by Pedro who was an excellent guide. The tour was worth every penny. The two winerys we visited were Quinta Nova and Quinta da Foz, the restaurant Toca da Raposa (wonderful food and service!), and ended the tour with a beautiful cruise on the Douro River. This was the highlight of our time in Douro Valley. Highly recommend!
