Start the tour at your hotel or accommodation in Porto Downtown. Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures.
Quinta do Tedo is one of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. In this visit you will learn about the wine-making process of Quinta do Tedo with a local guide. It includes a guided wine tasting session where you will be explained about the different wines to be tasted. In the heart of the Douro Valley you will have the chance to visit Pinhão. In the past Pinhão used to be an important place for commerce and transport of the wine from Douro to Porto. The wine was first commercialized and next shipped in the traditional Rabelo boat to remain aging in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river in Porto. In the village of Pinhão we stop for a 1h river cruise as well as we have lunch at a traditional local restaurant. NOTE: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
Quinta do Beijo is the second winery of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. This is a small local winery with very good wines that can not be bought in the city. The visit is usually done by the owner of the property himself while he tells you more about the production and the flavors of its wines. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2:Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
We return to Porto from Douro Valley close to 6:00 PM, where our guide will leave you at your selected drop off point.
Most of the tour has the Douro river as the scenic scenary through the day. The wineries that are visited offer incredible views to the river.
We booked this tour for our wedding anniversary and it was the best decision we made. Sandro, our guide, was so nice and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable instantly. We saw so many beautiful sites along the way. The wineries we stopped at were wonderful and the meal we had was delicious. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable. Sandro was an awesome guide! So knowledgeable on the history of Porto and the wineries. He was great about stopping at all the scenic spots so we could get pictures. I highly recommend him! My son and his friends had Sandro 5years ago when they did the same tour. They said he was fantastic!

Antonio was a phenomenal guide during our full day Douro trip. He picked us up on time in a nice van, gave us a lot of good info on the drive over, brought us to two great wineries plus a river cruise, and delivered us back safely. The tour was executed well and not too busy to feel overwhelming. I highly recommend Antonio and this tour.

Perfect tour, right on time throughout the day, great lunch from local restaurant and morning tea at a local bakery. The wineries were very different experiences , learnt a lot and great selection of wine and port. Ricardo was so knowledgeable, showed and provided us local history, kept at us time and a great host and day out. We left a mobile in the car at the end of the day and the company and Ricardo did there upmost to get it back to us before we left Porto. Perfect tour of the Douro valleyand totally recommend!
The Douro Valley is just stunning. Our guide, Jaoa, was excellent and built education and some humor in to our day. There were just 7 of us, which was perfect. We lined up with only one other small private tour at each of the two wineries, so that made the experience more personal and fun! Super well coordinated day. The food and wine at lunch was great and the river cruise was a perfect hour of relaxation and beauty!

My wife and I scheduled this tour in advance for our recent trip to Porto. We were lucky enough to be paired up with Ivo as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the local region as well as the broader districts of Portugal. Although the weather was a little rainy and overcast, Ivo quickly got our mind off of that and into the trip. His time working in local vineyards and getting to know many of the people in the Pinhão area of the Douro Valley was evident, as it felt like we were meeting family at each stop. I know that different wineries and restaurants might be selected depending on season and schedules, but we were very pleased with all of the stops along the way. Despite a little rain at our first stop, Teresa at Vieira de Sousa took us on a quick tour of the vineyards and the pressing / blending house. She was very passionate about the history of the family and the farm, as well as the ports that were selected for us to try (a White which was new to me on this trip, a Ruby, and a Tawny). Her descriptions really put the different types of Ports, both broad and vertical, into very easy to understand terms. Next, we went for a peaceful river cruise up the Douro River, then returned for lunch at a great restaurant in Pinhão called Taberna da Ponte. Unlike so many of these types of tours, all the food we were served here was delicious and I would go back for the same things. Finally, we went to the top of the mountain for a visit with Enrique at the Quinta do Cume winery. Here we got to try some of the high quality whites and reds they produce on this farm, including their 2019 Grande Reserva Field Blend, which will be great even 5-10 years down the road. I must say that this was a truly enjoyable experience, and if I were to do it again, I would definitely request Ivo as our guide.
The communication with this company was excellent. Sandra was the person we booked trip with and she explained everything well. She answered all questions immediately. She kept us up to date on any changes. Our driver Joao was prompt , personable and an excellent driver. We felt very safe in his hands especially on the windy narrow roads in the hills. He was very knowledgeable and his dialogue was entertaining but also very interesting and informative. The tour was more than we expected, the two wineries were excellent, the boat tour on the Douro river was fantastic. We stopped in a small village for lunch and the meal was so good. You had your choice of meals. There was an abundance of food and drinks and the people who served us were so friendly. I would highly recommend this company to any group that would like a first class experience. Mary Jane
