Overall the boat and train tour experience was wonderful. Only thing I would suggest to Deltatur is to provide a better information about meeting point. I think providing Google Maps link and GPS co-ordinates would help.

Charming guide and staff in general. In hindsight, we could have spent less and missed the wee train trip back, but it was pleasant enough.
It was a great tour! Maya was amazing and knowledgeable about the winery’s in Douro. Drinking sparkling wine was an added plus! The train ride after the boat was great ending to the tour! Maya also recommended places for us to go after the tour! I would highly recommend!
Great customer service and tour from Maia and the team. Loved the boat tour and train ride back. Would have loved a heads-up about the train fare NOT being included in the tour price and the train ticket being cash only. Maia handled it professionally.
Good tour guides with lots of info. Anyone with a mobility impairment should knowthere is a very steep walk upwards from the dock to the train station. I also really liked that the genorousity with the sparkling wine and the care and attention from Lillian from start to finish.
Relaxing way to see the natural beauty of the Douro River Valley! Our guide was terrific, energetic and informative. The idea of taking a train back really made it special. Great way to spend the late afternoon, toasting with the bubbly!
The folks from Delatur were great. We had a very pleasant trip up the Duoro to Tua. The boat was great, the views were great and our hosts were great. Things became less great in Tua when the train was delayed by one hours. That wouldn’t have that problem had there been something to do. However, Tua’s a small town without much going on. The wait in the heat was long. Once we got the train, we were back to Pinhao quickly, but the views from the train were limited. Lesson learned. Go with Delatur, skip the train option and cruise up AND down the Duoro. It’s beautiful!
This Duoro River Cruise actually ended at the mouth of the Tua River and the views were outstanding. Our host Miguel was delightful and kept us supplied with Proseco the whole cruise!!! As there were only 15 of us on the boat (think yacht), there was lots of room. This was the highlightof our trip to Portugal so far. Great job Deltatur. 😊
The experience was nice enough a lovely boat trip with an interesting return journey. Some commentary on the area during the trip would have elevated the experience. The sparkling wine was pleasant enough, although a fairly cheap bottle, there was plenty to go around. The trip was decent value for money, the train trip cost isn't included but it was only 2 euros each. A pleasant experience.
The itinerary is fabulous. Maria was rhe perfect guide. Full of knowledge and caring. Very fun. Carlos, our ship’s captain, was great. Highly recommend for an enjoyable couple of hours on the Douro River
Free parking close by, easy to find the meeting point. It was a nice hour long ride up the river with great views. The boat guide gave us interesting history. The train ride back was quick and easy. The 2 hour experience was the perfect time for us. We found lunch in Pinhão afterwards.
A really great cruise - not too lengthy and, even though it was raining when we set out, we were able to keep dry and still have lovely views. Carlos behind the wheel excellent and Gustavo was a great guide (and pourer of sparkling wine) and provided good advice (over 65 get half price train tickets) before he accompanied us on the train ride back to Pinhau. Highly recommend.
Super nice experience, Francisco was super nice and knowledgeable, and useful. It is very pretty and is a nice way to discover the landscapes with nice explanations.
The river views and trip was well worth it but the exit from the boat to the train was not easy and totally unsuitable for disabled people. The train journey was nothing special and again exit totally unsuitable, plus the organisers tried to con us to pay cash again for the train, so beware of that. No-where are there refreshments except for sparkling on the boat.
Boat ride was exceptional, comfortable boat, cold bubbly, lovely music with the most spectacular views. Although our hosts English was limited, it made the trip more joyous as we had to try that little bit harder to communicate - and he made every effort to make sure we knew everything
A great combo of boat and train. The grip was great up the river with plenty of bubbles and gorgeous boat
The trip is in beautiful wine growing country first the boat trip with plenty of sparkling wine flowing. There was supposed to be a choice of either wine or port, my husband would have preferred the port as he doesn’t like sparkling wine, unfortunately I had to drink his! 🫢 The guide was very good and knowledgeable. Train journey back just as picturesque. Lovely trip would highly recommend.
This is a simple excursion but a great way to see the scenery of the valley
over head cover, on a very hot day nice, wine and water free of charge, toilet onboard. Staff friendly and happy to answer questions they even escort you on the train.
The tour was well organized and our guide took really good care of us and answered all kind of questions. Finding the quai for the departure was a bit tricky, you need to walk to the very right side of the promenade, then watch out for Delta Tours.
Very pleasant, relaxed trip on a clean and comfortable boat. Beautiful views and quick train ride back.
Really lovely way to see the Duoro. Nice to see the guides loving thier job so much! They take great care with visitors and helped us with a restaurant booking
The drop point for the meeting place is not accurate. Just remember that it has to be a the jetty. Very friendly crew. Enjoyed the scenery from the cruise.
Very nice trip on the river and a very friendly, funny guide! The return by train was very nice as well!
Once we got underway, it was ok. Sparkling wine on arrival and continued during the river cruise. This compensated for what we felt were misleading directions that led to late arrivals and late take off. A lovely boat but passengers were split between the fore and aft, so it was difficult for the crew to give us timely information.
5+ star experience. Parking is right at the pier, left on time, the boat was perfect, such a nice, small group of people, the 3 staff members were fantastic, communicated well with everyone, shared interesting information about the area, and the landscape absolutely beautiful. Loved everything about this trip. Around 1 hr. 20 min. on boat, train station in Pinhao was very nice to see, trip back on train was around half an hour.
We took the 10:30 ride and it was a lovely boat ride up the river with our guide giving us nice prosecco and a great explanation of the Douro wine regions. Allow plenty of time to find the boat as we miss the turn and if we had cut it any closer we would have missed the boat. Loved the train ride back too, very fast and comfy. We found a quaint place to eat on the top floor of the train station for soup and salad. Very good and reasonable meal. And not crowded like some of the other restaurants in town we observed.
The tour was even better than we had hoped. We particularly liked the many explanations about the development of viticulture in the Douro Valley from antiquity to the present day, which our guide presented in an entertaining and impressively amusing way, so that we could understand and remember everything really well and also had fun doing it. The crew consisted of 3 people in total and everyone seemed nice and competent. The entire organization at the meeting point, which was used by several groups at the same time, was also perfectly prepared regarding the question of "who goes on which boat." The first part of the tour on the boat was more interesting and intense than the train ride, but we wouldn't have wanted to miss that either. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get to know the Douro Valley and understand a little bit about the viticulture there. The only tiny idea for improvement would be to write something about the parking options near the meeting point. They had given me some headaches in advance, and in the end, we could have parked much closer to the meeting point than we thought. But that way we saw a bit more of Pinhao, which was also good.
A very beautiful river cruise on the Douro with a Rabelo boat.
Nice walk to enjoy good views of the Douro
Information on how the train ticket for the return trip can be purchased would be very helpful!
Great experience. The guide was very generous with information. Magnificent landscape. Although small, the boat was very comfortable. The return by train was fine.
Fun boat trip on a nice modern boat with 14 people. The guide also went back on the train. Nice to see the Douro like this.
Despite the rain, it was a very beautiful experience, the guide was always very attentive
I really liked the tour, but it lacked a bit of history, because the same person who served, attended to the customers. Congratulations to Guilherme, very helpful and attentive.
A very good time on the Douro. Very friendly staff who gave us good explanations about the soil and the vines. All-you-can-drink beverages. Nice to be able to return by train afterwards
Very well organized but maybe a bit underwhelming, especially the return by train... check the train schedules to go further.
Very interesting experience. We love the boat crossing and the interaction of the guides.
Perfect, unsurpassable, very nice
Nice boat ride (and train ride) in a pleasant environment with local guide, Maria, who gives fun and personal tips.
We really liked the tour and also the return trip by train, and it gave us more beautiful impressions of the Douro Valley. Great organization and they didn't skimp on the welcome champagne. Sergio & Carlos are also a very likable team - we laughed a lot!
A lovely trip with a small company. It made it all seem more pleasant.
Wonderful experience on the Douro followed by a pleasant train hike with constant support from our organizers throughout the experience.
Great walk, I continue throughout the course, breathtaking landscapes. Guide Lili, quite experienced and very friendly.
Very warm welcome, very beautiful landscapes, but it lacked commentary; we would have liked to have explanations about the grape varieties, the estates, the methods, and whether there are white wines or port.
Nice trip with great lunch and short train ride back
