This hotel was great. The jacuzzi was a bit lacking, but the view was exceptional. We would like to leave a special appreciation to the best receptionist Joana Rodrigues who helped with booking our tours and gave us many recommendations that made this holidays amazing. Thanks for your diligence! 🙌
I had a wonderful stay at Vila Galé Douro in the Douro Valley. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the Régua center and train station. The room was large and comfortable with a balcony with beautiful views over the river and the city. The outdoor jacuzzi was perfect for the sunset after a day of trails nearby. The breakfast offered a wide variety and great quality, and the à la carte dinner service had variety as well. An highlight to the staff that were consistently friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience.
Well located, with an easy walk into town. Our room was large and clean with a good view of the river. While that was nice, there were no updated charging connections like USB ports. Be warned, the spa requires swim caps to use the pool. So if you don't happen to routinely pack one, which i don't, they will gladly SELL you one. Lol, seems like a scam.
Nice room on the 3rd floor with large balcony. Other rooms not as nice. Great views of the river. Easy walk to town and restaurants. Indoor pool is warm. Water for shower was barely warm..

Another convenient feature is the plenty of free parking available throughout the hotel area. The breakfast, however, is noted as being simple and basic.
