We had an amazing 4 hour Dingle Peninsula tour with Steve. He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great information and history of the area as well as showing us beautiful sights of the peninsula. He is a very safe driver. Would highly recommend doing a private tour with Steve.

Itinerary
Weather permitting, begin with a scenic drive to the viewing car park at Conor Pass, one of Ireland’s highest mountain roads. Take in views across the glaciated valley, mountain lakes, Dingle Bay and the surrounding peaks before returning towards Dingle to begin the Slea Head route. This stop may be omitted in poor visibility, high winds or unsuitable road conditions.
Travel west from Dingle through the coastal village of Ventry and alongside its natural harbour as the tour joins the Slea Head Drive. Hear about the area’s maritime history and landscape while continuing towards the peninsula’s Atlantic coast. A brief photo stop overlooking Ventry Beach may be made when time and conditions allow.
An optional visit to Dún Beag, an ancient stone promontory fort dramatically positioned above the Atlantic Ocean. Follow the protected walkway to view the fort and surrounding coastline from a safe distance. Entry is optional, and the admission charge is not included in the tour price. Guests who prefer not to enter can enjoy the coastal setting from the visitor area.
An optional visit to a family-run farm where guests may meet and hold a lamb and see traditional dry-stone clocháns, commonly known as beehive huts. The experience is subject to opening and animal availability. Admission is optional, not included in the tour price and payable directly at the attraction.
Stop at one of the Dingle Peninsula’s signature viewpoints, where the road meets the open Atlantic. Take in views across the rugged coastline towards the Blasket Islands and the Skelligs on a clear day, while hearing about the landscape, island communities and importance of the Slea Head route.
Pause above Coumeenoole Beach, where steep cliffs frame a small Atlantic cove with views towards the Blasket Islands. Depending on the weather, mobility and time available, guests can enjoy the main viewpoint or take a short walk towards the beach. Swimming is not recommended because of strong currents.
View the distinctive winding road leading down to Dún Chaoin Pier, surrounded by steep cliffs and overlooking the Blasket Islands. This is normally a viewpoint and photography stop; the tour does not include walking or driving down the narrow pier road.
Stop at the Blasket Centre in Dún Chaoin, overlooking Great Blasket Island. The café, visitor facilities and outdoor walk to the viewing platform can be accessed without purchasing an exhibition ticket. Entry to the indoor exhibition, including the approximately 15-minute audiovisual presentation, requires paid admission and is not included in the tour price. A full exhibition visit can be included by prior preference, with the itinerary adjusted accordingly.
Visit Gallarus Oratory, a remarkably preserved dry-stone church set beneath Mount Brandon. Walk around the monument and learn about its distinctive corbelled construction, uncertain date and place within the peninsula’s early Christian heritage.
Explore Kilmalkedar Church and its surrounding monastic site, traditionally associated with St Brendan. See the Romanesque church, ogham stone, sundial, alphabet stone and other features that reflect centuries of pilgrimage and worship on the Dingle Peninsula. The site is outdoors, with uneven grass and pathways.

We were so lucky and glad to find Steve, as we really wanted all four of us to enjoy the ride and the view! It was very easy to book with him online. We did the half-day Slea Head Drive. He was right there to pick us up at Dingle Garden Townhouse first thing in the morning. He was a great driver and provided us with a wonderful journey as well as so many historical facts about the area. We surely would have missed some of the sites he took us to had we driven it ourself. Our only regret -- we didn't get to spend more time with him! You will not be disappointed in Steve or his tour. We highly recommend him. We actually ran into him in Killarney when we were there on a jaunting car ride . . . so I am sure that any of his tours would be wonderful.
Steve's Peninsula Tours is a private, customized tour of the Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head. We were picked up at our lodging by Steve, owner and operator, and then spent the next four hours in a fascinating drive around the entire peninsula. Since we indicated an interest in history and natural beauty, Steve took us to a variety of historic sites and made sure to stop at a number of areas that provided us a view of the beauty and grandeur of the area. His knowledge of western Ireland's history, archeology, and natural history, was invaluable. We loved this unique experience and highly recommend it. This was a wonderful way to really experience the Dingle Peninsula in a way that we simply couldn't have done on our own.
An absolutely fantastic experience. Steve was a great guide, knowledgeable, professional, and very entertaining. We went to places you could never reach by yourself. The history and detail Steve provided made the trip special. The best private tour we have ever been on, out of many worldwide. Do not miss this.
Steve’s tour of the Dingle Peninsula was by far one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Steve was extremely knowledgeable and really took the time to tell us all about the area. He caters the experience to your interests and goes out of his way to make your day truly enjoyable. Our tour with Steve is a day we will never forget! Highly recommend you add Steve’s Private Tours to your Dingle itinerary!
Bang on! Steve curates the tour to your wants. He’s super flexible on how the day is going to go. A super clean car and an excellent, safe driver, at no point were we uncomfortable with Steve at the helm! He communicates clearly and quickly while both making arrangements and throughout the tour. We did a little bit of history, views and a little bit of fun, Steve is extremely knowledgeable, he clearly loves sharing the wonder of the Dingle Peninsula with his clientele. He also does airport runs!!!!!
Steve was great. We learned a lot of history. He took time to show us everything we wanted to see - pacing was good. The coast is stunning. Highly recommend this tour
See the beauty of Dingle. This tour involves beautiful sites, ancient relics, and sheep! You will not be disappointed. Be sure to ask for Steven.
We had a great day with Steve around the Dingle Peninsula! Steve is a very knowledgeable of the are! he is also a very nice and interesting person to talk to! The sights are beautiful and the car is comfortable. The streets are narrow so I would not have wanted to drive myself or been in a big tour bus this half day tour was perfect!! I highly recommend this tour!!
Perfect day! Steven was prompt, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and warm. He spent every moment showing us beautiful sights of the Dingle Peninsula and telling us the history of each place. Always informing and entertaining, his knowledge is amazing. You could not ask for a better driver/host! He took this pic of my husband and I…
The morning of our tour brought rain. Steve kindly offered flexibility so we could get the best views and make the most of our tour. He arrived promptly in a pristine car, and we headed out. He asked what we'd be most interested in. Throughout our tour, Steve shared his deep knowledge of the area and its varied history. We had a highly personalized tour that was both professional and friendly. Thanks, Steve!
What a wonderful experience. Steve was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The views were amazing and the historical sites were very interesting. We considered driving the Dingle peninsula in our own car but I’m so happy we decided to sign up for the guided tour. We were able to relax on the drive and learned so much more than we would have on our own.
Steven did an amazing job. The day was overcast, at times windy and sprinkly, but Steven made the day one to remember. He knows how to bring out the best in what the Slea Head Loop Drive has to offer. His knowledge of the archaeology and local lore makes the trip understandable and memorable. We highly recommend Steve's services to those who are looking for fun and memorable experiences.
Spouse, adult son, and myself did this 4-hour tour with Steve in January, 2026. Although the tour was scheduled to begin at 2pm, Steve recognized that the short days would make it impossible to see anything for the last half of the tour and arranged to start us a couple of hours earlier. Steve was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and a safe driver. (We had driven just enough in Ireland to really appreciate this!) His stories were entertaining and informative, and he showed us some amazing landscapes -- all with stories and perspectives of what had happened there. We really enjoyed getting to talk extensively with a local -- makes a huge difference in getting a "feel" for a place and its people -- which, in our view, is much of the reason for travel. Great tour and highly recommended.
Steve is a wonderful tour guide who's personable and attentive to his group's needs. His knowledge about the Dingle Peninsula and the people was both impressive and fascinating. I highly recommend Steve and this tour. Thanks Steve for the memorable experience.
Steve was amazing! He was not a hectic driver which made my friend and our moms feel safe. He was very patient and he had so much knowledge on all of the sightseeing adventures. I highly recommend this tour!
Our group of four had an absolutely fantastic time with Steve! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. He was punctual and excellent with communication. He knew so much about this land and its history and had such a caring and fun way of showing us. We saw so many magical stops along the way and Steve couldn’t have been more accommodating! I would recommend Steve again and again and will be sure to book with him if we return in the future! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you Steve for the best part of our visit to Ireland!
Steve was an amazing tour guide. Picked us up promptly at our hotel and gave us an excellent snapshot of the history and culture of the peninsula over our approximately four-hour tour. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide with well curated stops along the way. Highly recommend.
Steve was the best! He is so knowledgeable and drove us all over to experience the beauty of this wonderful place. My friends and I highly recommend Steve's tours.
This tour was my favorite experience in Ireland. Steve was very knowledgeable and showed us some of the most amazing sights of the Dingle peninsula! I highly recommend this tour.
Amazing experience. Steve is very knowledgeable of the area and Irish history. He brought every stop to life with added detail. He knew the roads like the back of his hand and strategically plotted our course to optimize the experience while avoiding the crowds aka tour busses. We felt like we saw everything without any rush. Steve is knowledgeable, personable, and very customer oriented. Really can’t recommend this tour enough.
Perfect! We loved seeing everything with great history from ancient to modern times. Steve is warm, personable, and accommodated all our needs and interests. He shared stories that only a local would know plus his expertise and warm style that made us feel comfortable and enthralled by the special qualities of the natural and cultural history of the area. The tour was perfect for us to ask lots of questions, take photos, and explore each area along the way. Many thanks for a special experience we highly recommend.
My wife and I unexpectedly had several free hours in Dunquin, outside Dingle. The area is breathtaking but we had no idea how to spend our time enjoying the local area. Our hostess recommended Steve’s because recent guests raved about their bespoke tour with the company. We were able to book our own tour with Steve’s and the experience was delightful. He started by bringing us to Conor Pass to view the majestic views of the landscape and provided us with a fascinating lesson on the history of the local land and cultures that lived there since prehistoric times. We have visited Ireland many times and his engaging and personal warmth helped us to appreciate the events and circumstances that helped to form the classic Irish culture. An objective point of view and a deep knowledge of history, geography and cultures made the entire tour fascinating. After Conor Pass, we traveled through other interesting locations including the Blennerville Windmill and concluded with a tour of Tralee. The best analogy I can think of to describe this experience is to compare it a time we had an Italian expert walk us through a custom tour of Pompei. In each case, we were fascinated, energized and grateful to have enjoyed the time with a guide who was intelligent, warm, attentive and engaging. If we can arrange things, we will come back and book a tour of several-days length for our older children that combines the Ring of Kerry tour and the Dingle tour to take a deeper dive on the history of the region.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Steven from Steve’s Peninsula Tours during our trip to Ireland. Steven met us at the airport promptly and we felt safe right away. He is not only a kind and genuine person, but he was also incredibly flexible and accommodating during our time in Ireland. Steven was able to bring us to the places we wanted to go and he also took the time to introduce us to additional places we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. His recommendations were spot on—one of the highlights being the opportunity for my daughter to hold a baby lamb, which she absolutely loved! Steven truly went above and beyond to make our trip special. We’re so grateful for the experience, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, experienced, and personable guide in Ireland.
Steve was excellent. Very friendly and took his time to share all of his local knowledge . Highly recommend this tour.
We had a rainy day, which would’ve been a challenge for any other tour guide. Steve was so involved and invested in making sure that we were able to do everything that the weather would permit. I feel like I learned more and had a better time discussing all kinds of topics with Steve then I would have if the weatherhas been funny.
Our family had a wonderful morning with Steve! He wove tales of ancient people and pre-English history with stories of modern history as we visited beautiful and thought-provoking sites all over the peninsula. Our teenage sons had a fantastic time and walked away with a new appreciation of the unique history of the Dingle area. Definitely one of favorite experiences in Ireland!
Steve was fantastic! It was a very dreary day, but he kept us entertained for our entire trip around the Dingle Peninsula. If we would have driven it ourselves, we would have never known the rich history of the area. Steve went over and above to make sure we were getting a full tour when though the weather wasn’t ideal!
Our group had the best time on our tour of the Dingle peninsula. It was an uncommonly foggy day and Steve was able to give us an excellent and exciting tour even under those conditions. We learned so much and had great conversations. Steve has deep knowledge of the past and present of Ireland and specifically county Kerry. There is no better way to do the Dingle Peninsula than with Steve to guide you through the views and stops off the beaten path.
Steve's tour was, without a doubt, by far the best overall experience we had in Ireland. He was very knowlegable on all topics, answered any and all questions, included extra stops and was flexable and accomodating about our uncertain cruise ship departure. Would highly recommend.
Even though the weather was sub-par, Steven made our day together very entertaining and informative — he is a local who knows so much history about the peninsula and its heritage, would recommend to anyone staying around Co. Kerry that is looking for a great tour of Dingle/Ring of Kerry. Thanks again Steve!
While there are many group tours you can choose from in Dingle, our private tour with Steven was exceptional! He was very knowledgeable and traveled at our pace. We never felt rushed and he provided great information and answered all of our questions. There were four adults in our group and his vehicle was spacious and comfortable throughout our 4 hour trip. HIGHLY recommend using him for your tour.
Steve took us on a tour around Slea Head, pointing out and stopping at the most stunning vistas. I would have missed so much had I been driving myself, as the road can be challenging in spots. He shared history and his personal knowledge of the area, all in all a very worthwhile adventure. His tour would be a brilliant experience for any visitor to the area.
Sometimes when you live in a place of natural beauty you can not see it, not appreciate it. This is not the case with steve. He has lived on the Dingle peninsula all his life and genuinely loves it. When he talks about it you can get a sense of pride and joy in the area he calls his garden. He is a great guide, lovely and friendly and vastly knowledgeable. The whole tour was stunning, massively enjoyable, but most importantly it was great fun. Steve is a very relaxed guy. There was no rush, no panic. He's a great guy to spend a day with in a place of amazing beauty. I highly recommend his tour.
