The experience was really good. Pilly from the safari agency was excellent in setting up the experience. Our safari driver Samson was excellent and showed us all the animals in the park. We didnt miss even a single one, not even lions. The savannah was amazing and for the price it was definitely worth a revisit. Wishing all the luck to the company and the associates. Very well done.

Highly recommended 1-day safari tour!! I can really recommend KIHINDO TOURS! From the beginning they provided very good communication and organisation. Pilly always answered my questions over Whattsapp within 2h. The driver picked us up as agreed in the morning and took us to the train. After the train journey another driver Adam picked us up and drove us to Mikumi National park. The guide Sam took over and we saw a lot of animals; elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, leopard, impalas, and warthogs. The safari lasted from 10-16 with a lunch break in between. After the safari they took us back to the hotel again - very good organised! Highly recommended!

It was an excellent experience but exhausting from Dar es Salaam on a train.My guide Nuhu was exceptional.As I was alone on my vehicle had a quality experience...birds/ trees/ parking history and stories. Would highly recommend

I had an amazing experience with Kihindo Tours and Safaris. I went on a day trip safari from Dar es Salaam and everything was fantastic. From the pickup from my house to the amazing safari itself. The guide was very professional, calm and kind. Explained a lot about the animals we saw along the way and he also knew where to look for them. We were also very lucky to see many animals during that day, we even had a chance to see lions when we arrived at the national park! They were also very kind through communication from WhatsApp making sure I got picked up, got on the right train and got home safe. I would definitely book through them again and can definitely recommend you do the same if you are considering doing a safari in Tanzania.

I booked a one-day safari to Mikumi National Park on a Friday for the following Saturday, and everything was perfectly organized and executed exactly as agreed. They arranged a driver to pick me up at my hotel at 7:00 AM and take me to the Dar es Salaam train station. When I arrived at Morogoro station, another driver was already waiting to take me to Mikumi National Park. The entire logistics process was smooth, punctual, and stress-free. The safari itself was amazing. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in the park and clearly passionate about his work. He took the time to stop frequently, explain the different species, and share interesting information about the animals and their behavior. Around 5:00 PM, the safari ended and I was driven back to Morogoro train station. Upon arriving in Dar es Salaam, another driver was waiting to take me back to my hotel. I wish I had more time for a longer safari, but even with just a few hours in the park, I was able to see all the animals I had hoped to see — and even more. To sum up, I highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris for their professionalism, organization, and excellent service.

This safari trip was a VIP, i was the only one and had the guide 100 percent for myself! I felt like a king. And i saw all the animals!

We took a train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro at 8.30am and arrived at 10.00am in Morogoro. Thereafter we took a two hour car ride to Mikumi. The game drive was for about three hours but we shortened our visit by 30 minutes because of heavy rain that began after we had finished two hours of game viewing. The Mikumi Park is good for wildlife viewing but does not have the top 5 - it has lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wildlife but does not have a rhino. We cited very few elephants and did not cite a leopard that others saw. We also did not see buffaloes. Hippos are very few and we saw them under water most of the time. Our experience with lions was wonderful as we followed a pride about to hunt. This was the highlight of our trip. Munir Daya

We booked a one-day safari to the Mikumi park from Daressalaam. From the start until the end everything was very well organized and worked out perfectly according to the plan. The communication with Pilly was very smooth and she was really helpful to accommodate our requests. Our guide Nuhu was very attentive and explained us a lot about the wildlife in the park. Our driver Isayah was also trying to make sure that we see as many animals as possible in one day. They were both very friendly. We had the impression that they value the nature and take their jobs seriously. I definitely recommend the Kihindo Tours for anyone who is searching for a professional and well organized safari.

Our safari in Mikumi National Park with Danford and Donald was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, they made the experience seamless, fun, and full of unforgettable moments. Both were extremely knowledgeable about the park, wildlife behavior, and even the smaller details that made every sighting more meaningful. Donald’s sharp eye for spotting animals was amazing — we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and so many bird species we would’ve completely missed without him. Danford was an excellent driver and made sure we were always in the best position for photos while keeping things safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

We have experienced travel to 79 countries BUT have never experienced a private excursion with so much content and organization! We were picked up at our hotel in Dar Es Salaam by Eddie right on time after being texted what to bring!(passport and all). Eddie (alias Honoratha Shirima) spoke excellent English and efficiently took us to train station right up to the customs agent! We rode the train to Morogora (good seats were provided)! We emerged outside to see a sign with our names and Meshack met us and escorted us to the Kihindo Tour Van. He was cheerful, English speaking, stopped on the way so we could enjoy the sights and baboons! He drove us the 1.5 hour trip to Mikumi National Park. And when we arrived he walked us over to a safari jeep where we were introduced to one of the most enthusiastic tour guides I have met! Nuhu Ismail is about 20 years of age and studied Wild Animals at the University! He had one more year of graduate work to do but you could feel his enthusiasm as soon as we met. He and his colleague drove us into the park and his English was flawless! His enthusiasm never ending! He showed us animals, followed a pride of lions so we could really capture their activities, had us watch a mother elephant nurse her infant talking the WHOLE time of the reproduction of pachyderms! Then we were treated to a wonderful buffet for lunch! He was so attentive and concerned about our comfort and service! After a beautiful lunch we spent many more hours exploring the park! He shared stories with us about medicinal use of plants in Africa! It was truthfully magical! This young man has so much potential I felt honored to be on this safari with him!( and we had already been on two other safaris! None that could beat this one!)! At 5 pm our ride to the train station appeared like clockwork! We rode back to DarEs Salaam quickly on the train! There was a huge chaotic crowd and we had taxi drivers accosting us to be their passengers. We were a little frantic when out of the crowd steps Eddie to escort us to his car! Pure joy to see a familiar face! What a day! Organized! No surprises! No hiccups! If you are thinking of a short memorable safari think Kihindo Tours and Safaris! I know you can’t select your drivers and escorts but if you can think of requesting Nuhu Ismail you will always be happy you did! But when traveling in this region we will always call Kihindo Tours and Safaris

This safari experience was excellent from start to finish. The morning pick up by Isaiah was punctual and cordial. Our train ride was flawlessly planned. We had such an excellent time on this safari! It was our first time in Africa, and while staying in Dar es Salaam and visiting Tanzania, we knew we wanted to make a safari happen and this tour made it so easy. A Wonderful Safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.) On Wednesday, 16 July 2025, we had a memorable safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.) in Mikumi. It is by chance that we have chosen radomly K.T.S on a list that our hotel has communicated to us. First of all, many thanks to Winnie who has provided timely smart feedbacks to our multiple questions. Winnie is available and her responses are helpful to take a quick decision. Everything was well organized from 1. the mornining step to get the train to Morogoro, 2. connexion from Morogoro train station to Mikumi and 3. the Safari with our professional guide Danford. He knows his job, with an easy communication (English and Swahili), caring and attentive to every question. On ONE single day, we managed to see almost all the different wild animals, bravo to our SMART and famous guide Danford and a well organized trip ! I may add as well that the food was excellent and we had our lunch in an appropriate location/almost open space. Thanks to the team who was involved in the kitchen service. We had a great experience. From start to finish everything went smoothly and as described, including our pick up and drop off which was really important to us because we’re not from here and did not know where we were going. The safari experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Soloneke (not sure the spelling) made sure we had fun and worked really hard to find the animals we wanted to see. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll see all the animals because it’s nature but we saw lots of animals including lions and cubs. This experience is a great value and worth every penny.

We booked this tour from Zanzibar, so flights were included. Our flight was delayed but they added time onto the end so we didn’t miss out at all. We saw some amazing animals and our guide (Aristides) was brilliant! He made our day! It was my friends 30th and we stopped at the end of the day and the staff (and us) all sung her happy birthday, definitely a treat to remember! Thanks again!!

Despite having only one day, this safari exceeded all my expectations. The organization was flawless, with everything running perfectly on time. The natural beauty was absolutely breathtaking, and I was thrilled to spot 4 out of the "Big Five"—buffalo, elephants, lions, and even a leopard. Since rhinos don't inhabit this national park, I actually saw 100% of the possible big game animals here! A huge thank you to my incredible guides, Saloniki and NP, who went above and beyond to make this experience truly unforgettable. They tailored the pace of the tour to match my ability to take in the overwhelming beauty around me. This was unexpectedly hilarious experience! The staff members of KIHINDO Tours and Safaris communicated with us immediately after we booked our trip. They organized the pick up from our hotel in Dar es Salaam and were always on time at each step of the trip to drive us between the hotel and the train station, and between the train station and the park. They took care of train travel reservations and booked business class tickets for us (by the way, a nearly two hour long train trip was amazing with stunning views, clean train, and kind stuff offering coffee, tea, and small bites for free). Michael drove us between the train station and the park. He was exceptionally kind and friendly; he told us useful information, drove very safely, and even took us to a souvenir store on our way back. In the park, Saloniki was our guide while Adam drove us safely and always stopped the truck whenever we wanted to admire wild animals moving around us. These guys knew exactly where to go to ensure the best animal views for us (we saw giraffes, elephants, zebras, and other animals just walking or running in front of or behind our truck). Saloniki shared with us interesting facts about all the encountered animals. They took us for lunch in the middle of our safari expedition and it was delicious! Buffet lunch with multiple options for both vegetarians and meat-lovers. They also provided bottled water while we were driving through the park. We had a morning game drive and an afternoon game drive after lunch. We even saw sleeping lions or hippos resting while submerged in a pond. We had limited time to visit safari and within one day we saw more than expected (over 12 wild animals!). We highly recommend this company for one-day safari trips if you’re visiting Dar es Salaam and neighboring areas. Very efficient and safe experience for a reasonable price - it’s a really good deal. The professionalism, reliability, and kindness of organizers were impressive! It was a safe and fun drive through a magnificent safari park. We were five students from Norway that took the day trip safari from Dar es Salaam. The travel to the park went very smoothly, and it was very easy to communicate with the people driving us places. When we got to the park, we met with the driver that would take us through the safari, and we could not be happier. Danford was an amazing guide, who gave lots of fun facts about the animals, he even went back to show the lions twice, cause we were so excited about it! In the park there are a lot of animals, and we got to see so many very close to us. This trip was definitely worth the money!

I booked last minute (9pm the night before) for a one-day trip to Mikumi National Park from Dar es Salaam. Firstly, the experience was incredible - more animals per hour than any national park I've been to - baby elephants, baby giraffes, a lioness and cubs hiding away (but we saw them!) and a lion that walked alongside the jeep. Absolutely brilliant. Secondly, the customer service was exceptional - Winnie from the team was so responsive, booking everything even though it was late and pick up was 5am, and I had a private guide and driver in the park. Connections and transport was seamless, from hotel pick-up to train station, train, pick up and drive to the park, and back again. Flawless. Shout out to Winnie, drivers Adam, Isaya and Ibrahim, and safari guide Saloniki.

The BEST experience. I was a little nervous at first about taking the train to Mikumi but it was completely seamless, clean, and well organized. The Safari experience with Damson itself was a day I will remember for the rest of my life and look back on fondly. We saw an amazing assortment of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes and a wide variety of the flora as well. Damson has excellent scientific awareness and understanding of the local ecology and wildlife, and patiently explained extremely interesting details about everything. Also, as I was travelling solo, Damson deftly used the opportunity arising from the lack of noise and greater manoeuvrability to show me as much as possible; the highlight was being able to view the king of the pride at Mikumi, Kipara, at an arms length while he napped. Last but not least, I had an amazing time driving back and forth with Isaya - he was extremely knowledgeable about Tanzanian culture and economics, and all around capital fellow who is guaranteed to have an amazing future ahead of him. Great experience! We were a group of three from Finland and visited Mikumi for a 1-night, 2-day safari at the beginning of December. Everything was well-organized and went smoothly, from communication and pickups to activities. The accommodation and food were of high quality. We highly recommend Kihindo Tours & Safaris if you’re planning a safari! Our safari guide - Michael was really good, he had amazing positive energy and was very knowledgeable about Mikumi and the animals there. He was very dedicated to making sure that we would get the most out of our experience in Mikumi, whether that was seeing as many of the animals there as possible or giving us tidbits of information about various things regarding the national park. We were very glad that he was our guide for this safari. On the 2nd day we went on a bushwalk with a local Maasai guide, where we learned more about the plants and birds of the area before visiting a Maasai tribe to learn more about their way of life. It was a very enjoyable experience. The timing (beginning of December) was perfect, with slightly cloudy weather that wasn’t unbearably hot, and it wasn’t peak tourist season. Mikumi is a great choice if you’re planning a short safari, as the area is smaller compared to the Serengeti, making it possible to see a variety of animals in a short amount of time. All arrangements worked perfectly. Well arranged, good communication, staff friendly. Safari experience lovely although safari car could do with a little make over - it seemed to be falling to pieces in some places. Also, after an exhausting day of travelling, I did not expect the train back to stop at every station. I would highly recommend the experience and this company.

All around an amazing experience. We didn't think we'd get to see so many animals. To our surprise we saw zebras, impalas, lions, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeast... etc and very up close to. The staff were very attentive to our needs and adapted their schedule to accommodate us. The tour guide gave us a lot information about the animals, cracked jokes with us and made the trip both knowledgeable and enjoyable. The price of the Safari was cheap compared to other big parks and the experience was unforgettable. To the best Safari Tour In Tanzania. I had an amazing experience from coordination of Winnie and to my guides in the Safari. My guide Saloniki is the best always greet and responds with “Hakuna Matata” and a smile. Very knowlegeable and friendly along with our driver at the Safari Jackson. I highly recommend this tour. You will see all the animals you want and just tell them. The buffet was also great.

We had the most amazing day with Kihino Safaris in Mikumi National Park!! The communication was great with Winnie beforehand as she organised everything for us. They picked us up straight from our accommodation in Dar Es Salaam which was so easy and convenient! The train ride was also very smooth, but do remember to NOT bring any snacks or water with you, as they are not allowed on the train to Morogoro. We were then picked up by our guide for the day, Saloniki, by the train station. The drive was only about 1h50 to the park. When we got there we met our driver Jackson and started our game drive through the park. We got very lucky with all the animals that day, and part of that is because of both Saloniki and Jackson being amazing guides for us! Water, lunch (with soda) is included which was super nice. Couldn’t recommend more!!

Very beautiful experience for our safari! Our driver William and our guide Mussa were really great: friendly, relaxed, and very attentive throughout the day. Mussa speaks French very well, which was a real plus for understanding his explanations about the animals and the park. As for the wildlife, we were spoiled: a huge number of animals, and even lions and lionesses! A magical moment that we will not forget. The only small downside: the 4x4 trip between the station and the park is a bit long (nearly 2 hours of driving) and slightly tiring. But honestly, it is well worth it! Thanks again to William and Mussa, we recommend them without hesitation.

This experience was truly very, very beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Our guide, who was just for the two of us, is named Willy and he was a truly exceptional guide. He told us some historical facts about the safari, some details about the animals, and the history of some trees also present in the safari. Furthermore, he also gave us plenty of time to take photos of the animals calmly, as well as videos. He also tried to show us some hippos by trying to call them, but the first time he unfortunately didn't succeed, but when we went to another spot and he tried again there, he succeeded and we admired them calmly there. If you have to go on a safari and have to choose a guide, we highly recommend Willy because he is the best: he has an incredible memory, he is knowledgeable, he is kind (he brought us two bottles of water), super reliable, and he speaks Italian well (Willy is truly great). Highly recommended.

Super 3-day, 2-night experience with Kihndo Tours. Picked up in Dar es Salaam and accompanied to the train heading to Morogoro to then reach Camp Lilac. Meeting with the Maasai in a typical village and, on the second day, a Game Safari at MIKUMI with Willy, a prepared and perfect guide who accompanied us in search of animals of all kinds (Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Wildebeest, Hippopotamus, and Crocodile). It was an exciting experience. The perfect organization, from transportation, to accommodation for the night, including meals. Always available and prompt in responses. The guides, both of the car and walking safari, were very prepared and listening to them was very interesting.
