Hotel White Sands Resort & Conference Center is located 16 mi North of Dar es Salaam city center, on a private stretch of beach 0.6 mi long. It features a swimming pool, a spa and fitness center. Each individually decorated room is air-conditioned. It comes with a balcony offering either sea or garden views and comes equipped with tea-and-coffee-making facilities, mini-bar and a satellite TV. The private bathroom includes a shower. Mchanga Restaurant & Bar is an open-air restaurant offering panoramic ocean views and serves a la carte menu as well as buffet style. There is a poolside coffee shop and bar, and Pweza Jetty serves light meals with full bar service. White Sands has an on site PADI Dove Center called Sea Breeze Marine where guests can book scuba or snorkeling activities. Water world is 886 feet from White Sands Hotel.

I have always loved this place because it holds personal memory. Staff are friendly i think it goes both way... warming up to you The only dissapointments are if you are there and there is a wedding taking place... you will hate your stay. Because the music is so loud that it vibrates upto the bedroom walls.. considering staying at the residence side hoping would be quiet and peaceful... ooh no...
House cleaning needs to put more effort in moving the beds because under the bed is not pleasant.
Food is ok ... the chef and the whole team try to accomodate the guests. Thanks to chef Shabani, ladies Hajra, Grace, Uncle Raja..
We absolutely love this resort! It’s the perfect place for families with young children. The beautiful open grassy areas gave our 5-year-old and 2-year-old so much freedom to run, play, and go on all the little adventures they could imagine. It was wonderful watching them have so much fun in a safe and relaxing environment.
My husband and I were able to unwind while the kids enjoyed exploring. The atmosphere is peaceful, family-friendly, and exactly what we look for in a getaway. We can’t wait to come back!
Visited the hotel for quiet birthday dinner, its a beautiful place, great atmosphere, the service is great. But the food was a let down, we had a mushroom soup and it was just watery, bland, could hardly taste the mushroom. For the main course I had grilled chicken and mash, again unfortunately it was so bland, but the portions were really quite generous. However, my friends had the sirloin steak and it looked really good, the nan bread was delicious! Had the fruit salad for dessert, again generous portions, really nice. The staff was amazing, they sang to the birthday girl, we really enjoyed that.
We recently stayed at Whitesands Beach Resort and had a really enjoyable experience.
The location is beautiful, right on the beach with a very relaxing atmosphere. It is the kind of place you go to truly unwind.
Breakfast had a great variety and was something we looked forward to each morning. The overall experience was made even better by the staff. We had a minor issue during our stay, but the team handled it incredibly well and were very accommodating, which honestly made the stay even better than expected. Customer service was top notch.
Overall, a great place to relax and switch off, and we would definitely consider coming back.
I was 5 nights at this beautiful located resort. The position is very nice and gives you immediately a holiday feeling. While the public pool was crowded over the weekend there is a residence pool side. Make sure you early there as places in the shade are scares. There are definitely some umbrellas missing as you burn very easy in that glazing heat.
The food is decent and fits a 3 star hotel. À la carte takes 1-1.5 hours to arrive but is tasty and nice. Breakfast buffet is what a 3 star hotel offers and what you pay for. Overall the price and value at this hotel is absolutely fair and ok. Unfortunately the whole beach along the north coast of Dar es salaam is very dirty and often smelly which the southern part of Dar es salaam along the beach is cleaner but also quiet.
The staff was always very friendly. Easy check in and out. I recommend this hotel as a good middle class hotel to relax and have a little “Zanzibar” feeling very close to Dar es salaam
