First of all, Justin and his team were absolutely amazing! They were so warm, welcoming, caring, and truly went above and beyond. They were always available whenever we had a query and made sure to accommodate our every need. The food was excellent—from breakfast to lunch and dinner, everything was delicious. They were also very considerate in accommodating meals for our children, which made a big difference for us. The swimming pool was very clean, and towels were provided, which was a nice touch. As for the rooms, they were well-equipped with comfortable beds, clean bedding, carpets, and good lighting. The bathrooms were spacious, and the rooms were cleaned daily. I would suggest bringing your own bathroom slippers, as the tiles can be a bit cold and slippery. At night, the rooms were prepared with mosquito nets, and sprays were used to keep mosquitoes away. With the Rufiji River just around the corner, we enjoyed a lovely boat safari. The lodge is also about a 20–30 minute drive from the entrance of Nyerere National Park, so you’re definitely in for a treat. Overall, it was a very homely stay with wonderful people, which made the whole trip truly enjoyable.

This is a first class location right next to Nygere National Park (Selous), just a short drive from Mtemere airstrip. The bungalow exceeded our expectations, spacious guest and bathroom with tub and shower! Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent, freshly prepared from the Chef! Wi-Fi availabilty was top, the staff very friendly and every effort was made to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also dont forget to check out the pool which provides a refreshing experience after safaris!
We spent three days and four nights at Selous Kinga Lodge, and it was truly the highlight of our trip to Tanzania! The experience was unforgettable from the very beginning. We were picked up at our hotel in Dar es Salaam, and the team brought water for the long drive, snacks, and I even got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Malik! 🥹 When we arrived at the lodge, everybody came to welcome us with warm smiles, a refreshing welcome drink, and a cool wet towel to help us recover from the heat. It was such a thoughtful and memorable start to our stay. Our bungalow was stunning, beautifully designed and offering a breathtaking view over the Rufiji River. One evening at sunset, we even watched elephants pass by right in front of our terrace, which felt like something out of a dream. The playful monkeys around the lodge added so much charm to our stay, we love being close to animals, so this place felt like pure paradise!! The staff at Selous Kinga Lodge was one of the biggest highlights. EVERY single person we met was genuinely friendly, warm, and attentive. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day, and the service was impeccable. The food was absolutely delicious, and as a vegan, I was impressed by how well they accommodated my diet, I truly enjoyed every meal! Also the lunch packs for the game drives were tasty, generous, and thoughtfully prepared. What stood out most was how genuinely everyone cared about giving us a beautiful time. Throughout our entire stay, we felt that the staff went above and beyond in every possible way to make sure we were happy, comfortable, and enjoying every moment! That level of kindness and hospitality made our experience truly special. On our last day, all the staff came together, singing a song around us as they brought out a cake and a drink to say farewell. It was such a heartfelt, emotional surprise and truly the perfect ending to an already unforgettable stay. Spending the evenings in the main bungalow was another lovely part of our stay. It has a cozy, homey atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and completely at ease. Leaving was honestly the hardest part. We were overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone working there and the beauty of the surroundings. Selous Kinga Lodge exceeded all our expectations and left us with memories we’ll cherish forever. We are already dreaming of coming back. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special - you made our Tanzania trip truly unforgettable 🧡 ASANTE SANA!
We spent three nights at Selous Kinga Lodge as part of a four-day safari, and it was truly an unforgettable experience—not only because of the stunning beauty of Nyerere National Park and the safari itself, but also thanks to the warm and caring service provided by the lodge. We travelled from Dar es Salaam by car and returned by plane. After experiencing both options, we definitely recommend flying rather than driving in either direction. Flying is far more comfortable and saves a lot of time and energy, even if it comes at a higher cost. My girlfriend and I felt incredibly comfortable at Selous Kinga Lodge. The lodge is nestled in nature, surrounded by monkeys (who don’t disturb you at all) and other wildlife. If you’re lucky, you may even see elephants passing nearby. Just imagine relaxing at your lodge and suddenly spotting these magnificent animals—it’s simply magical. The food was perfect. My girlfriend is vegan, and she was really happy with the delicious and thoughtful plant-based options offered by the lodge. A special thank you goes to our guides, Nick and Maliki, who accompanied us throughout all the safaris. They were knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about the park and its wildlife. The entire safari was conducted safely and respectfully, without disturbing the animals—we especially appreciated their choice not to get too close to them. For us, it’s a 10 out of 10! We highly recommend Selous Kinga Lodge and will definitely return! Andrea
