From Sigiriya To Kandy Private Transfer

Prior to my trip to Sri Lanka, I contacted Umesha at Live Lanka Tours & Taxi to prearrange a number of transfers across the island. Everything was easily organised over WhatsApp, I just gave all my transfer locations, dates & times and he took care of the rest, all for a very fair price too. Umesha would always message me the day before each transfer to confirm pickup details. He and his team were always very professional, punctual, friendly, had clean and comfortable air conditioned cars with plenty of space and were all very safe drivers. They would also stop for me along the way when I needed a break or wanted to get something to eat, and often pointed out places of interest. Umesha also organised a Jeep Safari for me while I was in Sigiriya which was amazing and again, for a very reasonable price. As a solo female traveler, it was reassuring knowing I had all of my transfers prearranged and I always felt very safe with Umesha and his other drivers. Umesha is a fantastic driver! On our drive to Kandy, he not only showed us several sites along the way but also organised all of our transport throughout Sri Lanka. There were no sales pitches or pressure at any point, just helpful suggestions and seamless arrangements for our two-week trip. The night before each journey, Umesha provided the driver’s details and vehicle registration, so we always knew which car to expect. All of the drivers clearly think highly of him too, which speaks volumes. All of our journeys also had freezing cold bottled water waiting for us. A lovely touch which was definitely needed! Malith is a great guide and driver that takes you through Sri Lanka and to all the must sees! He’ll help you plan a great stay, will support you with your daily operations (train tickets, hotel communication, and many more) and will always be there for you ready to pick you up or bring you somewhere. We felt very safe with him all around the trip and can warmly recommend him. He also works with partners all around the island to deliver your best experiences!

Our driver was safe and showed us many sights along the way. We asked to stop at the cave temple in Dambulla, and although it was not part of the drive from Sigiriya to Kandy, he was happy to accommodate and even gave us some additional information about the temple and its history. He had some trouble finding our pickup location, so was about 30 minutes late. I contacted the company to see what the delay was. They responded very quickly (within 5 minutes via WhatsApp) and were apologetic about the delay. I would recommend this driver service!

Me and my family spent with Umesha three lovely days. He was every time punctual and he is a really good driver with comfortable car. We felt really safe with him. Every time he choosed very good restaurants for lunch or dinner. He took as everywhere we wanted - for a good price. I recommend him all my heart.

I was in Sri Lanka with my boyfriend in September 2024 and Umesha accompanied us on this two-week tour from Colombo airport to Ella, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa and finally Nilaveli. Umesha is the best driver that l hired in Sri Lanka! He drives very carefully and his car is nice and comfortable. He came on time and picked me up in Nuwara Eliya to go to Sigiriya. During the trip we stopped to visit different interesting places such as tea plantation, waterfall and Dambulla Cave Temple. In Dambulla I accidentally lost my wallet... but Umesha was so helpful! We went together to the police station where he helped me to solve this problem: he spoke to the policeman and explained everything to him. I was just sitting and chilling all the time))) I was lucky enough to get my wallet back with all credit cards and money (some foreign tourist found my wallet and brought to the police station). I just want to say that Umesha is a very kind and attentive person and I highly recommend him as a driver.

We spent a few days with Umesha, He picked us up from the airport, Drove us for a full day in Sigiriya and then drove us from Sigiriya to Kandy and then to Hatton. We booked a transfer from Sigiriya to Kandy with Umesha, but ended up hiring him for the reminder of our trip. He was extremely helpful and attentive to all our needs, definitely the best driver we had in Sri Lanka!

We have spent two weeks with Umesha as a driver this May and I can say that this was a great choice. He drives very carefully and is always nice and funny. Our journey was really better off thanks to him because now and then he used to suggest us some places to visit we hadn’t included in the itinerary and he gave us good advice (where to eat, when to go in a certain place and so on). We also had the chance to meet his family and they were very kind too. Choose him for your trip and you will never regrets it!

We had the chance to know Umesha through the hotel where we stayed in Sigiriya and we have to say that this is the best driver we could ever had in Sri Lanka. He is a kind person, a very safe driver and we had a great time with him. He suggested the best places where taking pictures and we booked him also for the following day to bring us from Sigiriya to Kandy. We travelled 2.5 weeks through Sri Lanka and had Malith as our driver. The whole tour was completely stress-free, he showed us a lot of sights and interesting things on the way and managed for us to find one or the other accommodation when it was necessary. Transfer ok without any hitches or delays, driver very helpful, allowed us to make a visit to a spice garden en route to Matale and waited patiently, then also took us to see a Hindu temple on our request advising us that it was under renovation, and 'was efficient and kind, arrived on time right, quiet driving.

He was a very attentive driver who has always responded to our needs, we could ask to stop at any time and he took care of a break at a good restaurant on the way. His driving style is brisk, so you can make good progress and the track doesn't last forever. His car had air conditioning and was spacious.

Umesha is a wonderful guide who can make you discover like no other all the secrets and riches of Sri Lanka. He is extremely helpful and kind, as well as being able to advise you on what is best to do and where is best to go based on your planned trip. The package also includes that very simple but pleasant comfort and that makes the difference in the long run like 1/2 bottles of water per day and air conditioning. He also cares a lot about his customers even in the evening asking how the hotel is and if everything is okay. Malith was recommended to us by a friend. We stayed 5 days with Malith and it was super pleasant with him. Already in advance during the planning it was great. He drove us around great during the 5 days, we always felt very comfortable. He speaks very good English and also likes to talk about country and culture. We appreciated that.
