Water Garden Sigiriya

Had dinner here with my family. It was 4x the price of our other dinners in this area but it was disappointing. The food was okay, but the main disappointment was they had a major insect / fly problem. We were eating INSIDE (not open air structure) and we were being swarmed with flies. Not just a couple but a dozen or more. Landing on our glasses, plates, food. We let the server know and they brought us a candle and an electric fly swatter. The waiter was swatting and killing flies over our food. Then he left us the fly swatter to fend for ourselves. I understand this hotel/restaurant is in a very natural setting but they can’t expect someone to enjoy a $230 dinner fighting off flies the whole time (when dining indoors). The head server was laughing it off after we told him the meal was becoming unenjoyable. He didn’t even offer us a gratis $4 ice cream or offer to comp a drink. My kids killed at least 20 flies around the table.

A perfect blend of lush greenery and luxury! We stayed in a lakefront deluxe villa, and the experience was truly amazing. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the food was top notch. Our gratitude goes to Lileesh and the entire team for making our stay such a wonderful and memorable experience. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway!

Our stay at Sigiriya Water Garden was nothing short of exceptional, and we will definitely be coming back. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm, genuine, and personal. Mithun made us feel at home within the first five minutes. He was incredibly friendly, gave us a wonderful orientation of the property, and throughout our stay he consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. His hospitality truly made a lasting impression. The restaurant was another highlight. The food was absolutely amazing—the selection, flavours, and presentation were all 10/10. A special thank you to Chef Ruwan, who personally ensured we enjoyed every meal. Every member of the restaurant team was welcoming, polite, attentive, and made us feel right at home. A special mention goes to Danuka, whose attention to detail was outstanding. His genuine care for guests and willingness to go the extra mile made our experience even more memorable. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. Overall, our experience was truly 10/10.
