Had a wonderful stay at Thilanka Ariyana Dambulla! The hotel has a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay.
The food was delicious, and the overall service was excellent. It was a great place to relax and enjoy some quality time with friends . Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Dambulla. ❤️

⭐ Very Disappointing Experience at Sigiriyana Resort.
We had planned a two-day stay at Sigiriyana Resort and booked a Luxury Room with a Jacuzzi, based on how the room was advertised on the hotel’s website. Unfortunately, our experience was far below what we expected from a resort presenting itself at this level.
Upon arrival, we were told that there were two different types of Luxury Rooms—one with a Jacuzzi and one without. Although we had already paid Rs. 6,500 for the Luxury Room, the whole booking and room allocation process was confusing and poorly handled.
The staff attitude was one of the biggest disappointments. The team appeared very demotivated, old-fashioned and indifferent towards guests. There was no proper greeting, welcome refreshments, or towels at the entrance. Even the welcome drink was served while we were standing at the reception counter dealing with the room finalisation, which did not feel welcoming at all.
The room itself was old and poorly maintained, and several of the amenities were not in proper condition. Considering the way the property and rooms are presented online, we expected a much higher standard of accommodation and service.
Because of the disappointing experience on the first day, we decided not to continue with the second day of our stay. To their credit, the hotel accepted our cancellation without any deductions or objections, which was one of the few positive aspects of our experience.
That said, I must acknowledge that the view and garden are excellent and appear to be very carefully maintained. The property clearly has tremendous potential because of its beautiful surroundings.
My overall impression is that the management needs to seriously modernise its approach to hospitality, particularly in terms of staff attitude, guest handling, service standards, room maintenance and overall customer experience. Retaining experienced staff is valuable, but they also need proper training and adaptation to the expectations of today's tourism industry.
A beautiful property alone is not enough to provide a good resort experience. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the quality of service, staff attitude, guest reception and room conditions. With better management and service standards, this property could be a much better destination.
Rooms were nice but the location is very isolated. Our agent had booked it for 1 night & the whole place seemed haunted as almost none of them room was occupied except us & may be 1 more room. We had booked HB but the food was very bad. The property is very beautiful but not maintained properly. They don’t have buggy so you need to walk at least 600-700 mtr couple of times in a day to for dinner & lunch.
Words can’t describe how beautiful❤️ this place is! The service was perfect, and the staff were incredibly kind specially Mr.Halangoda. Our room was right in a massive, gorgeous garden filled with endless plants and even a paddy field. With a scenic tank, free wifi,cricket ground, a gym with a view, and absolutely heavenly food, it was a flawless stay. 🫶

Loved this hotel, fabulous large room and ensuite, with separate walk in shower and bath. Good AC and working fridge, comfy bed. Fab scenery from balcony, looking out on paddy fields, snd amazing sounds from wildlife at night. Safe should be secured to some surface though, so it can't be lifted.
Food was good standard, very similar to other hotels we visited.
Pool area was super, nice amount of beds and tables and chairs, plenty of towels available.
Bar was nice, good singer one night who took our requests and got us all up dancing. Bar staff were excellent, much quicker than in other places, and more than willing to learn how to make a Baby Guinness!
