Amaara Forest Hotel Sigiriya

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Aptly named - full of trees and peaceful. Well appointed rooms with all necessary facilities. Very tasty food. Most of all I salute the friendly staff -very attentive, courteous, helpful and friendly. Used the hotel jeep to visit Kaudulla and Sigiriya with the nice driver. When I returned from a night safari around midnight provided by another company, the watcher was there to accompany to my room - very thoughtful to a senior single lady. So thank you everyone and no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

A Wonderful Nature Retreat in Sigiriya 🌿🦜 Amaara Forest in Sigiriya is an absolutely awesome place for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. The location is beautifully surrounded by nature, with an impressive variety of birds, including several endemic species, as well as mammals such as the fascinating dry-zone loris. The food was another highlight. From authentic Sri Lankan cuisine to a variety of Western dishes, everything was fresh, delicious, and very well prepared. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended for nature lovers, birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a peaceful escape close to nature. 🌿🦜

My stay at Amaara Forest was one of the best and most relaxing experiences, for so many reasons. First, the location is superb — calm, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful greenery. It was exactly what I needed to relax and disconnect from my busy schedule. Waking up surrounded by green trees and nature around the hotel and rooms was truly refreshing. The food was another highlight! There was a great selection of both local and international cuisine, but my absolute favourites were the BBQ station and the local spicy Kottu station — the Kottu was on another level! There are also plenty of activities to enjoy. I arranged a safari through Amaara Forest and had a wonderful afternoon exploring the wildlife. In the morning, I went cycling around the area, which was a great way to explore the beautiful surroundings. The play area and swimming pool also gave me plenty of time to relax and enjoy the stay. Most importantly, the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff was professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel so comfortable that we never felt like we were simply staying at a hotel. They were always happy to assist us and even gave us such a warm goodbye when we left. This was my second visit to Amaara Forest, and I’m already looking forward to going back again! Thank you, Team Amaara, for another wonderful and memorable stay! 🌿❤️

We have just stayed here for four nights and our stay was exceptional. The staff are so friendly, polite and courteous. They were great with our two children and really could not do enough for us. The hotel arranged an elephant safari and they also took us on a trip to the top of sigiriya rock. We saw so many elephants and our driver made sure we got the best views. Our trip to the top of sigiriya rock we were cared for and helped along the way and made sure we got fantastic family pictures to remember our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are really comfy. The pool area and sunloungers are kept clean and there is also a smaller pool for children. The food was great and a good selection for everyone. We stayed half board and I would definitely recommend. Overall it is the care and attention of the staff that has made our stay exceptional and we cannot thank them enough for everything.
