We booked an early morning tour to spot the Red-Shanked Duoc in mid September. It fell during a very rainy week so we postponed it and moved it a couple of times trying to avoid the wettest times. So we were excited when the day arrived! We were picked up promptly by a friendly driver and our guide met us at our hotel as well. They both spoke English well and we set off to the Son Tra Mountains. We were dropped off with the guide to continue on foot to roads that cars weren't able to access. They offered umbrellas if we wanted. (While the driver was doing so a monkey jumped into the back of the vehicle!) We walked in for at least an hour and did see several clusters of Macaques. They were a bit playful but didn't get close. Of course we were most interested in the red-shanked duoc. After reaching the part of the road where the forest dropped away and it was less treed cliffs on the other side, we turned back. We walked about another hour before finally coming across six red-shanked duocs. They were sleeping, the mothers cradling the babies and the fathers on watch. They stayed up in the treetop. Another group approached and the monkeys started to wake up. They moved around a bit before deciding it was time to move along. We probably got to spot them for about fifteen minutes before they left though! The guide had binoculars so I could watch them up close. They are amazing creatures and if you like wildlife, I recommend taking this trip! Book direct with the provider for the best price, we connected with them on Whatsapp. Be ready to walk a long way, bring a second water perhaps as well! There's one steep part but generally it's flat with only a few sections of hillier road.
Guide was very friendly. Saw some funky monkeys! Would recommend!
The airy environment, combined with the very friendly monkeys, is delightful, and their performances are very enjoyable for everyone. The monkeys are agile and lovable, creating a cheerful and nature-friendly atmosphere.
Booked this tour on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best decisions in Da Nang. Great local food, interesting stories, and a super friendly guide. We ate way more than expected and visited places we'd never have found on our own. Highly recommend if you want an authentic local experience instead of tourist restaurants.
The tour was well organized and could be adjusted to match our interests. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us enough time to enjoy every destination without feeling rushed. A great choice for anyone wanting a personalized experience in Hoi An and Da Nang.
Oyster and fish farm Visit.. Very enjoyable and you will learn lots about the local fisher folks 😁
We recently spent a wonderful morning with Hung Le Travel exploring parts of Da Nang that we never would have seen otherwise. We began the morning with a visit to a rice wine distillery that has been owned by the same family for generations. The owner was so warm and welcoming; we were able to go into the distillery area and see how the rice was processed and how fermentation occurs, and we tasted rice wine at various points in the distillation process – which was fascinating. We tasted six different flavors of rice wine, all while we talked with our guide, Home, about the history and origins of rice wine production in Da Nang. It was absolutely fascinating, and was a reflection not just of rice wine, but of the history and culture of Vietnam. Then we moved on to Ban Co Peak, where we drove through the beautiful mountains and were able to see the American radar installation on top overlooking the South China Sea. We talked about the Vietnam War, and learned things about the War that we’d never known. The views of Da Nang and the South China Sea were absolutely gorgeous, as were the paragliders we watched take off from the mountain and soar over the sea. All was quiet and serene, with almost no other tourists, which made it really special. From there, we moved on to the Lady Buddha, where we had a detailed tour, not just of the Lady Buddha statue itself, but also of the entire temple grounds, with beautiful gardens and statuary collections. While the area in front of the Lady Buddha statue itself was very crowded, we walked into other areas where we were the only visitors. Throughout our tour, Home talked about the practice of Buddhism in Vietnam and explained what each statue represented – details we never would have been able to learn on our own. This was our second tour with Home and Hung Le Travel this week – I would highly recommend this awesome group to anyone who wants to do something really special in Da Nang!
I had a very interesting and fun trip. Our tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable. The weather was good and nice . I was happy in this trip.
It was really amazing, magnificent sightseeing with the aodai tourguides. We tried local food, many local and unique activities in Hoi An and Danang also
It was a beautiful trip! Additionally, a wonderful weather and it is really affordable, enjoyed every moment on the tour!
5 Stars – Must-Visit Spots in Central Vietnam! Loved every moment! The Lady Buddha statue was peaceful with stunning views. Hoi An Ancient Town was charming and full of character. And the mi Quang? Absolutely delicious — a must-try local dish!
My family wanted to see the best of Da Nang and Hoi An in the ~10 hours we had in Vietnam. Home, our guide for the day, had a full itinerary for us to make this happen. Despite this, he let us take our time seeing and exploring all the sites at our own pace. He was very attentive to what and where we wanted to spend more time at and would adjust our itinerary based on this. We did not feel rushed at all, and Home was really great at explaining to us the history and background of the places we saw. In the short time we had, we got to visit APEC park, Lady Buddha, the pottery village, get on a coconut boat, and all that. Our driver, Cuong Tran, was also very prompt. He was at our pick up right on the dot as agreed. Same with drop off. Overall, amazing service.
