Staff was amazing and so welcoming. Phe, Mr. Handsome, was our lead guide. We so much appreciated that he acknowledged where in the world each person had arrived from and that he said that we were altogether in peace to experience the beauty of the day. It was an amazing trip! Saw blue starfish and and beautiful coral!

Overall experience was good, it will be great if the tour guide can provide more clear instructions about snorkeling such as how to properly wear the gear, how to dive in order to have the best visibility and fun.
Excellent experience, but wear life jacket if not strong swimmer as long time in water. Cha cha was an excellent guide and looked out for everyone. Great lunch. Would throughly recommend if you want a snorkeling tour.
Fantastic overall experience. Everything taken care of with no worries. Phi, our guide, and the boat-mates were amazing. Great day trip.
Had a great time Guide friendly and knowledgeable
Overall good tour! Brought us to good snorkelling spots with lots of fish and coral. Only note was there were jellyfish, which was pretty unsettling. Got stung a couple times but wasn’t too serious, hurt in the moment, but not afterwards.
We had a wonderful time with Phu on the snorkeling tour! We were taken to two wonderful snorkeling spots on Cham island. This tour takes the hassle out of planning a snorkeling trip, as they even provide the gear for you. Would definitely recommend, make sure you bring extra water and sunscreen in warmer weather.
We had a brilliant day. If you’re thinking about it, just do it !! Our guide ChaCha was so great…funny & knowledgeable. Cover up and put on lots of sunscreen
Really good day out, the islands have lovely beaches, crystal clear water for snorkelling, plenty of protection for the sun shy, and a nice snack lunch to keep us going
Great fun day Small group Local guide Nice boat Lots of snorkel time Great coral and fish Great snacks and lunch Woo Hoo
Well the people were cool and the scenery was nice but this really wasn't a great "snorkeling" trip. The best way to describe it is swimming around in moderately cool water (Not cold but definitely not warm) next to bleached semi-lifeless corals with an occasional fish swimming by. If you're really looking to snorkel, probably not the best place. I'd have to imagine there's probably not too many awesome snorkeling spots nearby Da Nang; otherwise why would they bring us here. Again the group was cool, the people were nice, the scenery was fine, but the snorkeling wasn't good. Unfortunately I wish I could, but I just can't recommend it. Do with this information as you wish.
Cha Cha was just perfect. Very profesional, listenened to every details of the groupe. We saw 2 different corals which was beautiful. Cha Achat know very well what he's doing. Food was ok at donner but this is not why I wanted this activity Had a lot of fun!
Cha Cha the tour guide was AMAZING!!!! So knowledgeable, so kind, so attentive and caring. Looked after us non swimmers so well. Thank you Cha Cha. Definitely coming back next year!!!! Lunch was so yummy and lots of variety. The beach spot was so awesome. Everything taken care of from pick up and drop off.
Very nice trip! Many beautiful corals and different type of fish, crabs and other animals that live in the sea to be spotted :) Only negative thing was that some sealice appeared just at the end of the trip, and bit me. I felt sorry for many co-snorklers who got burned in the sun; use sunscreen and/or swimwear that covers more to avoid becoming a red lobster.
**** Advise refrain from using this company directly or indirectly through other agents. The trip they offer and you think you book is not what they give. Only thing higher is the price. Not worth it. **** We decided to book the trip to Cham islands including visit to Cham city, snorkeling in two different islands Dai and Tai, with fish feeding at Tai island, fresh sea food BBQ for lunch, chill at the beach and beer and soft drinks included for lunch. The offer is more expensive than others, but wanted to have a better experience so we went for it. Whay we got: no visit to Cham city, no Tai island snorkeling or fish feeding, no sea food BBQ but standard vietnamesse lunch, and no drinks included for lunch. When we refused to pay the full price (thanks God we had not paid in advance) they offer a small discount, far from compensating the different length and quality of the trip. When we refused to pay that kind of money they threatened to leave us in the island. We are extremely upset. They wasted our time and money on a less than mediocre trip advertised as a different trip. And BTW, to add to that the water was cold, the coral dead and practically no fish. They only told us this when we were already about to jump for the first snorkeling....
We decided to do this trip last minute, through our hotel Palm Beach resort. Picked up from hotel by taxi for 15/20 minute taxi ride to harbour. It took 40 mins to get to the island. Once there you could do trip with guide or go it alone, which we did. Walked around the harbour and enjoyed a coffee. Then went out snorkelling and that was great! Didn’t see too many fish but a few. Back for lunch and then back to shore
Our tour guide and all the operators were fantastic. We chose english speaking and the guide was very proficient and humourous. The trip was well organised with not a lot of waiting around and snorkelling was a great experience. Whilst the coral is not vibrant there was plenty of different fish and starfish and ample time to explore and the setting was beautiful. No issues with any of the equipment provided. Loved it! Lunch was also yum. The tour was cut slightly short after lunch as the weather was becoming worse. The guides knowledge of weather conditions and safety was reassuring. Whilst the conditions were mostly calm as someone who gets sea sick, I would recommend taking tablets and even though it was overcast, you still burn. Id definately recommend a rashy and dont forget to put sunscreen on your tooshy. :) We were also doing the tour at an off peak time. I imagine during peak season the experience might be more crowded. We had a great time.
The trip was okay, snorkelling was good in some areas. I did come across a used baby diaper in the water which made me feel a little sick. The last stop at the beach was nice, the lunch was really bad unfortunately. The food was stone cold and made a few of us at the table not want to eat it. Rating has been applied based on this review.
We went as a family of 4 with 2 divers and 2 competent swimmers ( a 72 yr old and 10 yr old). The sea was obviously a different swimming experience and safety was clearly top of mind for the guides. There was plenty of buoyancy aids for my son and mother in law which meant they could relax and enjoy the marine life safari! Much of the coral was bleached though. We were treated to a nice lunch and a chilled out day on the sea! Thanks for the experience!
I did this trip twice because I had so much fun this first time! My review on my other booking is extensive about this trip, check it out.
I liked this snorkel trip so much that I went twice! That said, the visibility and chosen snorkel spots definitely make or break the trip. The first time I went, the snorkel spots were a little bit better than the second trip. But both days were really fun, both tour guides Phi and Cha Cha, were fun and friendly. This tour is very snorkel-focused. If you love being in the ocean as much as I do, this is the trip for you. If you are not a strong swimmer, there are life jackets available. One spot on one days was a bit choppy, mostly the water is very calm. Just depends on the day and weather. Lunch at the beach is a variety of different basic dishes - fish, chicken, pork, squid, shrimp, steamed rice, omelette, morning glory, fries, fried noodles w/ veg, soup, and some others. There is free fruit, water, soda, and beer on the boat, but you must pay cash for any drinks you have at lunch. At the beach they have coffee drinks, coconuts, soda, water, beer and some juices/smoothies. We had about 2 hours at the beach for eating lunch and relaxing/swimming. The drop-off situation at the end of the trip was a big confusing the first day, but less so on the second trip because I knew what to expect - the tour guides arrange all of the different cars when we get back to the port so it takes a little while and seemed a little disorganized. Both days, I was back to my room by 3:00, and I was one of the further drop-offs (in Hoi An, not Da Nang). The speedboat is small, no bathroom, no changing room - make sure you come already dressed for swimming and don't need a place to change, or use the bathrooms at the parking lot of the meeting point before the boat leaves. There are lots of showers and bathroom facilities at the beach, but for the first few hours of the trip, the ocean is your toilet 😅
Great experience. Lovely team who run the day. Word of advice: cover up as much as you can in water.
This tour is fine. You do get to snorkel twice and I believe longer than other tours which is a benefit. But, we never got to do the walking bit which wasn't explained or mentioned. Additionally, we spent way too long at the first place cause so much of the equipment was broken that it took forever to get everyone the right equipment. I've personally snorkeled numerous times and can attest that a lot of the equipment was actually broken and wasn't just the result of people not knowing what they're doing (althought there was also no guidance on how to snorkel for those who didnt know). The boat also moves and meets you at a second location on the first snorkel which would be fine except there are ten other identical boats parked next to it and its very difficult to tell which one youre supposed to get back on. The food at lunch was very poor. No one at my table liked anything. It all tasted cold and like it had been left out for awhile before we ate it. Also, there weren't enough "free" chairs on the beach. Several people had to go sit at the café which requires a drink purchase to sit. This wouldn't be a huge issue, but the café is also scamming people by telling them one price when they order and demanding a stupidly high payment once the drinks come (there are no written prices on the menu). Overall for the day I didn't feel like there was really ever communication from the guides on what we were doing/what to expect. I think this tour is fine if you accept you're really just going to snorkel and otherwise you don't really care about the food/quality of the guides/equipment. But for the price they're charging they really should do better.
We booked the Cham Island snorkel trip and it turned out to be one of the best days of our Vietnam holiday. The pick-up and speedboat ride were quick and well organised, and in no time we were surrounded by stunning blue water. The snorkeling itself was amazing — crystal clear visibility, colourful coral, and so many fish that you didn’t know where to look first. The guides were friendly, helpful, and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a good time. After snorkeling, we had time to relax on a quiet beach with soft sand and calm waves. Lunch was simple but fresh and tasty, and the chilled pace made it easy to just sit back and enjoy the surroundings. What I loved most was the small group size — it never felt crowded, and it was easy to get personal attention if you needed help with the gear or wanted tips on the best spots to explore. If you’re in Da Nang or Hoi An and want a mix of adventure, beautiful scenery, and a bit of downtime, this trip is perfect. Would 100% recommend.
This is concentrated on snorkeling which we enjoyed. The guide is knowledgeable and very professional plus friendly.
We had a great time as a family in this tour. Cha Cha was our guide, and he was so helpful, friendly and funny. We were picked up from our hotel, driven to the port, and then to the boat that took us to the snorkelling places, which were pretty empty, as opposed to other spots where we saw other tours. We saw some really pretty marine life, but the blue starfishes were a highlight! I’d repeat this tour again!
Nice fish, but mass tourism. I think it’s partially because the local laws, but it was not the promised secluded trip. We also encountered some jellyfish, which is unavoidable at some times, but could have been prevented by a rashguard if we knew beforehand. Phi did everything he could and made sure everybody was enjoying and safe!
Very good snorkeling tour with plenty of actual time in the water, no detours, distractions, or delays. Our guide, Phi, was super friendly and spoke very good English. Unlike guides in other similar tours, he was always in the water making sure that everyone was comfortable and safe. Lots of coral, barely any trash, no jet skis and no party boats, despite some more snorkeling tours around. Much better than the snorkeling tours around the very overexploited Nha Trang islands. Reasonable variety of fish, but unfortunately, not a whole lot of them, probably because of the constant noise from the motor boats. A bit overpriced compared to the alternatives, but still worth it for some real snorkeling instead of party boat tours.
This trip far exceeded our expectations! There was no wasted time. Our guide got us from the pick up place and into the water as quickly as possible. The water was clear. We saw beautiful coral and a variety of sea life. Our snorkel spots were not crowded at all. After snorkeling, we went to a beautiful beach. We had time to swim and eat a satisfying lunch. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough! We had a beautiful day!
Boat was a water taxi not one designed to take people on a snorkelling trip. Seats in tightly packed rows and was more akin to a bus. Extremely cramped and difficult to get changed. Also difficult for some people to get in and out of the water as there was only a small ladder. Someone has identified a demand for snorkelling trips and have decided to requisition a vessel wholly unsuited for the task. Staff polite but not particularly well trained on what is required on a snorkelling trip. Little info on location, nothing on the types of fish we may expect to see and no chum / fruit bucket for attracting the fish.
We enjoyed this. The Cham islands are beautiful. Our hosts Phi and ChaCha were friendly and helpful. The lunch was very good. Water quality was decent (better than we expected). Make sure you pack some sunscreen.
There was a lot of rain, and the guide realized it was not good visibility, so they took us to a second site. A lot of diverse coral and fish. A beautiful experience!
The trip was very exciting. The speedboat ride to Cham island was fun. Cha Cha the snorkelling guide was very friendly, fun, and helpful. It was great to see the colourful fish and especially big shoals of small fish. The snorkelling equipment was good condition. The lunch on the beautiful beach was tasty. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
Make sure you leave plenty of time for mishaps! Before the tour (advertised as 6 hour tour, from 8:30am-2:30pm), I specifically asked Pacific Boat if my child and I would be back to our hotel before 3:00pm as we had planned for our cooking class. Henry said no problem and we would return definitely before 2:45pm. So off we went. The snorkeling was fun, much better than hiking around Cham Island in the scorching summer. In our first dive, the water was not as clear, but we managed to see some corals and small fish. The second dive was much better - clear waters with a great variety of corals and fish. We enjoyed being in the cool waters. Lunch was provided at a beach house amongst either tourists. We weren’t too demanding. It was laissez faire after lunch (we were all done by 1:30pm), and the boat captain and guide were not quite ready to gather us till 2:15pm. We had to stop at another pier to pick up more people to fill up the speedboat (around 24 persons max) and by the time we sped off the return it was 2:30pm. The speedboat broke down TWICE, and we were stuck floating on sea while other speedboats raced past us. We didn’t get on shore till 2:50pm and there was a 30-min ride back to our hotel. We missed out a good portion of our cooking class as a result. I expressed my frustrations to Henry from Pacific Boat but he never bothered to reply.
The tour was good. Pickup was a bit late for me, but the ride over to the port was nice and cold. The tour guide was great. He talked about his background and made sure to check up on everyone. So, the tour is focused on snorkeling, but if you need anything there are some venders selling stuff such as waterproof phone cases at the port which you can buy real quick if needed. Overall, the transition from arrival to boat is good, you don't need to wander or sit around for 30+ minutes while they get the boat ready. After arriving at the island, you are going to get straight into the water from the boat. Then you are going to snorkel/swim to a beach meetup spot where you can take a break and enjoy a drink and fruit. After that, you will head to another snorkel spot where you can just stay in one spot. After that you will head out to a spot where you can use the restroom, rinse yourself, relax, and get lunch. Lunch was good, there was a wide selection of foods you can enjoy, but you will have to pay extra for drinks. You pretty much have free time after that where you chill on the beach chairs and after that head back to the port. Here's some things I recommend: - Use a rash guard or buy good sunscreen - Wear your swimsuit beforehand or underneath your clothes - Watch a snorkeling video for beginners Some things that I wish were done was a quick beginner snorkeling guide and warnings about the sharp coral, mussels, and rocks.
I think this tour was one of the better values in terms of total time spent snorkeling. Staff was courteous and professional.
Many thanks to our guide, Cha Cha, who gave good clear instructions and kept our group together, all with relaxed good humour. All the snorkeling equipment was in good condition, as was the boat. Scenery was fantastic, the water was clear and warm, and some good examples of fringing reef corals.
The snorkeling was great and definitely worth doing this tour if you are specifically wanting a lot of time snorkeling, the corals were amazing and we saw lots of pretty fish, starfish and other animals, we definitely had over 2 hours of swimming and then got to hangout at the beach which was really good, we also had a very nice lunch which had so many different things to try, the tour guide (I think his name was Cha Cha) was super funny and had great English, all of the staff were super nice and made the day even better. (Remember to tip the staff because they do a really great job!)
Very professional arrangements, from the Hotel pick up, getting you onto the boat, explaining the programme for the trip and very attentive tour guide. Two good snorkeling locations chosen with splendid coral and rocks with plenty of fish to see. Simple but tasty local style lunch included.
This is my first time snorkeling and a non swimmer. The guy on the tour was very kind and helpful with me to give me a nice and pleasant experience.
Cha Cha snorkelling guide was fantastic very welcoming , good fun and looked after us great. Snorkelling not like the Maldives but some nice corals and some reef fish. Lunch was plentiful and tasty. Transfers excellent and all on schedule. A good half day trip
Great half day snorkel trip to Cham Island. Speed boat to Cham Island from Hoi A with lunch on the beach. Just what we were seeking, so we had plenty of time in the water, rather than being taken to shopping and other sightseeing spots.
An amazing adventure! The island was stunning, but our guide, Chacha, made it even more special—he went above and beyond to create an unforgettable day. After diving, we enjoyed authentic, flavorful meals at a local spot. A top-notch experience, agency, and guide!
The places we visited are very good and showed us glimpse of the Vietnam Culture . The sunset view overlooking the Han River and trying some local cuisine are also good experience. The tourist guide is very helpful, respectful and patient. Highly recommended
It was an amazing tour and nice tour guide. We really had a great day with Mr.Tung.We booked snorkeling tour, but the weather wasn't good,so they recomment us change to city tour, and we were so happy with the deal. Thanks Pacific Boat team so much!
We were actually on the Speedboat Snorkel & Island Hopping Tour (Cham Island) and had a blast. Cha Cha and the crew did a fantastic job sharing some amazing snorkeling with us!
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Tuan. He pointed out the highlights and hidden cultural features of Da Nang city . We enjoyed the boat ride on the Han River and enjoyed the beauty of the bridges and the city. The food in Han Market was also an interesting part of the trip Highly recommend !
What a wonderful way to spend my 28th birthday! I booked the trip the day before, because I am currently solo travelling around Southeast Asia, and wanted to keep busy on my birthday. From start to finish, we were taken great care of. The guides were so knowledgeable, funny, and caring, and ensured we had the best time possible. We spent over two hours in the water, and covered some distance too. The food at lunch was the best I have had on one of these tours, and the beach we got to relax on was just breathtaking. Whilst snorkelling, I saw a pufferfish, parrotfish, rainbow fish, many blue starfish, blue tangs, plenty of colourful small fish, crabs of all sizes on the rocks, a tiny jellyfish, a fish with a leopard pattern, and a long eel like fish (I was told it has a local name), and so many more that I cannot identify. The speedboat was good fun, if a little bumpy at times, and got us around without any hanging about. The spots we visited were much less touristy than the other tours I have been on in Vietnam and Thailand. I really cannot recommend this tour more. Worth every penny!
Had an extra day in Da Nang, so hopped on the boat and it did not disappoint. Despite recent storms, still saw some beautiful coral and wildlife and generally had a good time. Duration of snorkelling was just right for me, enough to get you tired without risking heavy sunburns. Cha-cha was a wonderful guide. Very much recommend if you wanna spend a day in the water from Da Nang or Hoi An.
This tour is a must do! Our tour guide, Cha Cha was amazing and also very funny. He comes from Cham Islands and was very knowledgeable about the best spots to snorkel on the day depending on conditions. He was also very attentive and caring, checking on how everyone was going with the snorkeling. He was very aware of anyone who was having difficulty or needed assistance. The equipment was like brand new, the best mask and snorkel I’ve ever had on a tour. The coral was plentiful with lots of different types. We also saw many different fish. Lunch on the beach was much better than expected. Very fresh, great variety and lots of it. The relaxation time on the beach was great after the snorkeling. This was definitely one of the better tours we did during our stay. Highly recommend this tour
