Itinerary
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and depart for My Son, one of the most important sites of the Champa Kingdom. Nestled in a beautiful valley and surrounded by mountain ranges, My Son is one of the most stunning sights in Central Vietnam, located just 80 kilometers from Da Nang. Whilst excavating My Son, letters were found revealing that the complex had been used for offerings and the worship of the Hindu god since the 4th century. In 1999, UNESCO declared My Son a World Heritage Site. The My Son Sanctuary is a remarkable architectural ensemble that developed over ten centuries, vividly illustrating the spiritual and political life during a significant phase in Southeast Asia. Originally built with wood, the temples in My Son were completely destroyed by fire in the 6th century and restored in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman, who rebuilt them with locally made bricks. By the 13th century, more than 70 similar temples had been constructed.

So much history to see and we loved the ride to and from the site through townships and recommend getting there early before heat and crowdsAND highly recommend our tour guide Nguyen Thi Minh Thu (Emily) she was so friendly and knowledgeable ….leant a lot from her, and our driver was really good
Very nice visit, with an amazing tour guide, we got lucky and were only two today, the guide was awesome, she could answer all of our questions and her English was really great! Definitely recommend
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Abby was so knowledgeable and also so kind and it was great to really get to know someone so lovely while also learning so much. Highly recommend!
My Son is a beautiful and enchanted place to visit. A wonderful walk and camera ready for nature lovers! I should add that my tour guide, Tha, aka Emily, was amazing and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!
How Vietnam war affected the site Bomb craters & bullets marks on the monuments How they made water holy by pouring sacred stones
Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the trip despite the bad weather. Will recommend to family and friends.
Awesome & unique experience! Guide was very informative and sociable. Great day & highly recommended 👏👍😁
Interesting little trip to explore some amazing historical site. Our guide was quite smart and fun as well. Visit in the afternoon, much less crowded.
Our guide was fantastic! We did the private tour and could not be happier. He gave us lots of information on My Son, and was helpful in explaining why entertainment was shut down (due to a state funeral). I also really liked the fact that he is the first tour guide we've had here who did not try to get us to book with him privately away from Viator. When we did ask him if he did tours to Hoi An, he told us we really didn't need a tour guide, it was somewhere we could go on our own just by taxi. I appreciate the honesty. I would definitely look with this company again!
Excellent tour! We were picked up at our hotel at the agreed time. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a great time.
The trip was the highlight of Da Nang for us! Our tour guide was very lovely and knowledgable! A great tour of history and ancient culture!
Such a beautiful place to visit and very well maintained. We enjoyed the opportunity to see the countryside outside of the city, and enjoyed our time with our guide and driver.
The service is great, even before you go on the trip the tour guide is ensuring everything is good, in this case the TG from Hoi An express travel was Thu Hang. Thu Hang was so nice, she made us feel comfortable and made the tour enjoyable and relaxing without any stress, the car we went to/from the excursion was comfy and the driving was good. My Son sanctuary is a very moving place, with the surroundings, and the nature around the place makes it beautiful, it’s a must see place.
The weather was scorching hot on the day, but the transfers were comfortable in an air conditioned van. The guide was english speaking and very resourceful. She gave a lot of information on the way and also at the site. The historical site itself was very beautiful, with a theatrical show to top it off. We were picked and dropped off from/to our hotel in DaNang on time.
Pick up was prompt and before time. Tour guide introduced himself and made us feel welcomed and showed a great love for his job, country and the religious back ground for the site we would be visiting. The guide had a great knowledge and understanding of the site and answer all questions about the area.
We had an half day tour at My Son. Pick up service at our hotel was excellent. Our amazing tour guide Viet gave us a fantastic tour and gave us intresting facts, not only about the Cham people and culture/history/religions, but also about Vietnam. Last but not least we also got the opportunity to watch the Cham-show as a perfect ending of the tour. We had an amazing time on this tour and we would gladly recomend this!!
Travel was good, but the tour itself could have gone into a lot more detail about the sanctuary given that there are audio prompts throughout.
This was a very interesting tour and worth seeing. It’s unique. I’ve never heard of the Champa Empire and was very interested to learn more about it. Our tour guide was a very interesting person. One piece of constructive advice would be to talk more about the temples, point out unique things, and explain them.
Very beautiful site! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided additional information. I recommend this tour.
We were amazed by My Son. The guide added to much to our understanding of it. He was excellent! And after the tour, we asked for a restaurant recommendation and they dropped us off at the most amazing place!
The guide was nice and helpful. The trip is quite short, you see only My Son (museum, only the main site and a dance show). If you want to see more consider your own transport, then you have more time and you can see all the sites (they are quite similar, though). When you are there there is a short drive with an electric car and then short walk to the main site - this is very doable with small children. Drive from Danang is about 1h.
Guide was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job. Gave lots of tips and suggestions about what to do in Hoi An
A recommend this tour if tou like history and storytelling. Great and very kind guide! Thanks for everything
My Son is we’ll worth visiting. A very old site that has thankfully been preserved. The tour went well with our guide and driver arriving on time. Plenty of useful information from our guide throughout the day. My son is well set up and not overly touristy buggies take you from the entrance to the site 2ks and obviously return. From there you can please yourself as to where you go. Having a guide helps explain some things on site Signage is a bit limited
Tour guide was very funny and also very knowledgeable. The my son temples were a great expierience and don't hesitate to give the guide your phone for a photo he takes really good ones.
Really enjoyed our half day trip to My Son Sanctuary. Recommend if you’re looking for a unique, historical trek while in Da Nang. The organization didn’t provide much information until they called the night before to confirm the pickup time. However, everything ended up going smoothly. Our guide, Snow, was very informative and did a great job explaining the history to us.

Great day out! Lots of interesting unknowns. The whole family enjoyed it!

We had a lovely tour of My Son.......Ming our guide was very informative and passionate about the area and was considerate of our needs in the extremely hot humid weather!

Excellent small group tour in a comfortable air con car. Friendly and informative tour guide who answered all our questions. Very hot and humid at My Son so thankful for water and wet towelettes.
Would have been good to have some visuals to look and help with explanation, as sometimes difficult to understand tour guide.
Overall a great half day tour.

Our first trip to Vietnam would not have been complete without this very informative excursion to the beautiful area of My Son. Our tour guide, Mr.Van, not only is knowledgeable about the local history but global history as well. Mr. Van was able convey through his charming English the many reasons Vietnam had been a war-torn country for hundreds of years. His knowledge and gift of story telling helped to make this adventure a most memorable one. My Son Sanctuary itself was very interesting. A performance of Cham dancers introduced us to a bit of their cultural history and close up encounters with the temple structures left us in awe of the Cham's architectual skills. Highly recommend this tour with Mr. Van!

Fantastic tour. We were picked up from our home stay in a very comfortable, air conditioned car and even the drive to the site was interesting! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, answering any questions we had and inspired to us to look deeper into the history of site after our tour had finished. Given what it's been through it's unbelievable that anything still stands! We decided to go in the afternoon, seeing the site at midday was awe-inspiring. You have just enough time to explore the site and take in the history, including entering some of the buildings - pretty incredible to find yourself stood in exact spots where people will have been stood centuaries before. Highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour of My Son sanctuary with Wuk. There were only 2 of us on this small group tour and we were picked up from our Da Nang hotel. Our driver was safe and careful and we enjoyed the drive through rural Vietnam about 1 hour 20 mins. My Son is an amazing site and Wuk was a very good guide explaining the history of the Cham people and culture. On our return journey we were offered a stop at Marble Mountain, but preferred not to stop.

Tour guide is very friendly and knowledgable about my son sanctuary history and he could speak fluent english. The comapny also offer a lot of different other tours that will suit everybody's need.

We learned a great deal about history during the tour. Our guide was friendly and funny throughout the trip. It was a beautiful tourist spot and is highly recommended to everyone.

It was very satisfying! It was raining, but they provided raincoats so we could see the sights comfortably. They also explained it in English, which even I as a Japanese can understand, and I had a very meaningful time! If you are planning to visit, I highly recommend it!
It was nice to discover another facet of Vietnam, another culture, older and with different architecture. The site you can visit is not very large but it gives an overview. I also enjoyed the dance and music show, which adds to the experience. The guide had a lot of interesting historical elements to give (that its strong accent made a little difficult to grasp, at times). It is very (very) hot and humid so I suggest the morning time slot. Also, there are fewer tourists at this time of day.
I certainly applied by mistake on the date here, No matter how many times I tried to contact you, it was just a voice announcement, and I was able to reach you from the hotel's cell phone, but in the end I couldn't reach you, and if I should want to contact you on the day, If you're not answering, I don't know what contact you're here for! You can't even ask for a consultation before you cancel. I ended up taking a grub taxi and it was half price. If you're watching this, it's better to take a grub taxi! You don't need a guide. If you go online, I understand. They'll take it for double the price, which is relentless. The taxi driver translated it properly and stopped by for water and restrooms on the way. I'll go with grub any country that already has grub.
The price was satisfactory. They also picked me up and dropped me off on time and explained everything to me. However, it felt like a very hard tour for me as I walked through the ruins, cradling and piggybacking on tired children along the way, because the guides were walking pretty fast all the time (they were fast enough to feel like normal adults). If you're with small children, you might want to charter a taxi to take you around more slowly.
13:30 Hotel (@Da Nang) Lobby Meeting 14:30 Arrive at Mỹ Sơn Ruins and begin guide 15:30 Dance Show 16:00 Depart Meason Ruins 17:00 Arrive at Hotel (@Da Nang) I made an online reservation on TripAdvisor at midnight the day before the tour and emailed my hotel pick-up request, but on the morning of the tour they quickly emailed me the meeting time etc. This time, there seemed to be no other participants, so it was a four-person trip: the guide, the driver, and two of us. The tour includes taking a passenger car from the hotel to the ruins, visiting the ruins and taking photos while listening to the guide explain in English, a 20-minute dance show visit, and taking the same car to and from the hotel. He was a kind and friendly guide who explained to us so that even those of us who are not good at English could understand. Hoi An Express Travel tours are recommended.
