My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Hue! Our driver, Mr. Lee, was very helpful, kind, and professional. Our guide, Fi, was very enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable! She shared a lot of interesting information about Hue and former Emperors and their dynasties with us during the tour. She made our experience in Hue a top highlight of our time in Da Nang. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in enjoying a convenient and seamless day trip to Hue. Thanks again, Fi, for a memorable & remarkable experience!

Itinerary
At 7 am, Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Da Nang city. We start the Hue City Tour from Da Nang. On the way to Hue, our driver will stop by at Hai Van pass (Ocean and Clouds Pass). Hai Van pass is famous as the most beautiful pass, the Topgear in Vietnam. On top of the pass, you will see there is a brick gate. It was the border gate between 2 countries. Dai Nam in the North of the pass and Champa Kingdom in the South.
The next place is the Lang Co beach. Lang Co beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our driver will stop at the pass's foot so you can have a panoramic view to take wonderful photos of the Lang Co Bay.
In addition, we will stop at Lap An lagoon with nice views of the Brackishwater lagoon, the place where local fishermen plant oysters. There is a cafeteria there with a lagoon view and you also can taste the best Vietnamese coffee.
Around 10:30 am, we reach to Hue imperial city. We will pick up our tour guide to do the Hue City tour from Da Nang. We will take a dragon boat to go along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu pagoda. As you know, Thien Mu is the oldest pagoda in central Vietnam from 1601. There are many stories and myths about this holy place and our guide will tell you in detail.
After that, we will take the private car to visit the Citadel, Royal city, and Forbidden city. Hue was the capital city of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam from 1802- 1945. Our guide will tell you some valuable information about the royal lives of Emperors, concubines, and eunuchs. It is a complex including 3 sections: The citadel (Protecting area); Royal city (The working area of Emperor, and civil servants and Military servants); The Forbidden City (The private area of the emperor, his concubines, and eunuchs). Hue was the politic center of the Nguyen dynasty Vietnam so foods in Hue are the best in Vietnam. So will we have a lovely lunch at a local food restaurant around 12:30 pm.
After lunch, we keep doing the Hue City Tour from Da Nang. As you know, all the emperors of the Nguyen dynasty thought that this life is just a temporary life. When you died, you would live a real life. So what you need in this life, you would need them in the after-life. So the first thing they did when they first came to the throne is to order the Fengshui tellers to find the perfect Fengshui places to build the tombs. Please remember it, everything inside the tombs has never been used in the past, only for their after-life. The first place is the Royal tomb of the Minh Mang emperor, the second emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. So His royal tomb is on the mountains and face to the head of the Perfume River. Our tour guide will tell you the fabulous emperor's biography and a scary secret inside his beautiful royal tomb.
After that, we will visit the most beautiful and expensive royal tomb of the 12th emperor, the Khai Dinh Tomb. Not following the traditional architecture, Khai Dinh Tomb is the mixture among Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, French, and Vietnamese architecture. You will say twice WOW, WOW because it is such a fabulous tomb and the most beautiful tomb in over the world. All of the materials to build his tomb from other countries such as Ciments from France; Color glasses, porcelain, ceramics from China and Japan. It is the top of the art of inlaid for decoration. At the Khai Dinh tomb, you can take some great photos and practice photography skills. Finish the Hue City Tour from Da Nang, we will drive you safely back to your hotel in Da Nang city. Tour ends

Weather was hot, bring water. You should have an interest for old historie grounds or it may become boring.
I cannot recommend this trip enough. I ended up being by myself as my husband was ill and the team, Ms Van and the driver looked after me really well and ensured I had a brilliant day. It was very informative around the historic areas and lots of time for photos. Lunch was very authentic in a lovely local restaurant. The boat tour on the perfume river was enjoyable, as was learning about the pagoda. The Hai Van Pass is also very scenic.
Deducted a star for the tourist trap stop along Hai Van Pass with the pearl jewelry shops. I speak Vietnamese and told them I wasn’t going to buy anything (not my style of jewelry), plus my husband and mother in law already bought 3 items at that very store—yet they still kept bugging me the whole time to “just buy one thing.” I got super annoyed and had to leave the shop and asked our driver to leave asap. We also had a stop at an incense shop, which was not pushy at all and very sweet for showing us how they make the incense sticks. Other than that, the Hue tour with Lily was absolutely fabulous!! Lily was a wealth of information at each stop and also during the drive to each site pointing things out. I found the details (both the good and the bad) about the emperor and his sons fascinating. Lily also spoke very clear English and was so sweet, sharing snippets about her family and sharing photos of our dogs. She is the epitome of a true tour-guide, I learned so much that day! Highly recommend this tour, just don’t go into the jewelry shops along Hai Van Pass.
Our driver was great! Safe and took care driving. Our guide was also excellent. She was knowledgeable, had great English skills and answered all our questions. She let us go at our pace which happens to be quicker than the average. I would have no hesitation to recommend this day trip.
Good experience. Beautiful place to visit. We have to cut short our visit because of our appointment in Danang. Our guide Tony see to it that we visit the best point of interest in the area. Our drive from Danang to Hue was great too because our driver gave us good information of the places we pass along the way.
Loved this tour! Debated doing it as it’s a ways from where we are staying in Da Nang, but so glad we did. The drive there is gorgeous and included a couple of great stops. “Ha” was our tour guide and she was amazing. Her English is great and she understood and answered all of our questions. There’s so much history and interesting facts to learn and she made it fun. Lunch was delicious and Ha explained how to eat some of the food that was new to us.
This was a very enjoyable and comprehensive day trip. The car was very comfortable and air-conditioned. Our driver Mr. Phuoc was very accommodating, and I would highly recommend him.
I booked this private tour from Danang and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to book a day trip to Hue. The pick up and drop off from the hotel was very confident. Our driver Mr. Hao was very friendly, accommodating and a great driver. The drive from Danang to Hue was over two hours but he explained many things during the drive and ensure we were comfortable. Our tour guide we met at Hue, whose name was Fi, was also great and she was very knowledgeable about the rich history of Hue. I learned so much about the history of Hue and the last dynasty of Vietnam. Since this was a private tour, we could really enjoy the tour at our own pace and having the designated driver was also very convenient. If you want to explore Hue while staying Danang, I would definitely recommend this tour!
Informative, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. She had all our stops well organized and made sure we were comfortable.
Thank you Mr Hoang and driver, Mr Hau for making this such an amazing tour. You communicated your depth of knowledge on the history of Hue and the history and intricacies of the royal families/emperors of Vietnam and their daily life in such a way that brought to life the whole palace life experience. we loved your retelling of history, the political intrigue to the life and death of the emperors. It is one thing to look at a pagoda or tomb. it is quite another to hear you tell the story about it. Thank you for making this tour an amazing experience, your attention to detail, your timeliness and your professionalism. Highly recommended!
We started with a scenic 2 hr drive from Danang, then visited king castle, local eatery, river boat tour and king tumbs. Ruby was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions on very good English. It very satisfying a-z
We had an incredible time on this tour, and we want to express our sincere appreciation to the entire team. Ms. Ly, our tour guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable with her insights. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to her! Mr. Hau, the driver, was skilled and ensured we felt comfortable and safe throughout the journey. He can speak good english too! The food provided during the tour was absolutely delicious – a true highlight! We’re so grateful for the wonderful experience and will definitely be recommending this tour to our friends. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable! 💕
We had a great experience touring Hue and Hoi An from Tien Sa Port Our driver, Mr Sinh, spoke some English, and was helpful in providing some information and getting us to the different sights. He also brought us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch.
Customisable hue day trip from danang. Driver Mr Hau was professional and accommodating. He was able to plan the shortest and most efficient route from Danang to Hue to cover the attractions we wanted. Pick us up from hotel in Danang on time, drove past Hai Van Pass and pick out the photo stops for us, visited Lap An Lagoon and Lang Co beach. In Hue, driver was thoughtful and also reminded us to take care of our belongings in Dong Ba market. Also replenished water when we ran out and offered sun umbrella. Overall a pleasant experience with driver Mr Hau :)
This was the highlight of my trip to Vietnam thus far. Even with the rain and fog the views were stunning. Mr Tan was incredibly accommodating and punctual, and Mr Son gave an absolute masterclass on the Forbidden city and subsequent history, literally moving me to tears at one point. I cannot recommend this tour enough. 10/10
We were picked up from our hotel in Da Nang by our driver for the day Mr Hau on time ans drove towards Hue using the Hai Van pass, a very scenic and breathtaking road, stopping at the Hai Van Quan gate. At Hue we were met by our guide for the day Ms Trinh, who shared with us a wealth of information on the Hue monumental sites. Knowledgeable and eloquent as well as friendly and jovial, she made the full day of sightseeing pass too quickly. At the end of the long day Mr Hau drove us back and delivered us safely to our hotel in Da Nang. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to explore Hue imperial monuments in one day.
Hue is truly stunning. The Imperial Palace, reminiscent of Beijing's but with fewer crowds and a more authentic feel, is worth the visit on its own. Add in the serene Pagoda and the impressive King's Tomb (our personal favorite), and you’ve got an unforgettable day. Our driver was fantastic—picking us up at one hotel and dropping us off at another to suit our plans, with a few scenic stops along the way. The guide was knowledgeable, enjoyable, and very flexible. Highly recommend this experience!
We were picked up by Mr De on time in the morning in a comfy vehicle. He gave us little snippets of information at our stops along the way to collecting our tour guide in Hue which we found helped us enjoy the journey. Ms Ruby was our tour guide. She was very friendly, clearly knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. We were rather tired by the end of our tour and she was kind enough to be guided by us (family of four including two children aged 9 and 13) and adjust the tour accordingly, which we found a huge benefit of a private tour. We found the sites very interesting and it was good to understand more about the culture and history of Vietnam as it is our first time in the country. The tour does include places of worship so you should have modest dress. The air conditioned car between sites was a great way of cooling off between areas.
My guide Lee was very knowledgeable and passionate about history and culture. I learn a lot from him about the royal family and also about Buddhism. My driver Mr. De was a very skillful driver who drove fast and safe. We went from Danang to Hue, and dropped off at our Hue hotel around 5PM. Along the way you can take nice pictures at Hai Van Pass & Lang Co lagoon for free, although you will need to pay for some nice Vietnamese coffee in order to view the scene at Hai Van Pass. Lunch at a local Vietnamese cafe was absolutely delicious. I’m also happy with the tour operator as they contacted me very early and made arrangements to increase the size of the car in order to accommodate all our luggage.
I am from Canada, I was travelling solo and was search for a reliable tour company in Vietnam. Thank God I found Culture Pham travel from Hue city, Vietnam. It was very affordable. I booked an 8 days travel with the tour company, they were not only dependable but they went beyond my expectations. Every tour was organized in detail and extremely enjoyable. The food was so tasty and the hotels were luxurious 4 stars. The last hotel I stayed at was facing the beach in Da Nang. The drivers and tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable, especially the driver Mr. De and the tourist guide Mr. Tuong. They were kind, friendly and eager to please the clients. Such people are part of the gems which makes this company great. I will use this travel group again when I return to Vietnam in the futures and will definitely recommend them to everyone. Thank you Culture Pham Travel for a wonderful and safe visit. Stephen Ha
Overall, our tour with Culture Pham exceeded our expectations. Thank you to Mr. Hai, Mr Cứu for a memorable experience.
We had a wonderful trip, touring Da Nang. Driver Hua arranged each stop nicely. He also introduced a great seafood restaurant for lunch.
We had an awesome time. I organised this when I was in Australia. Worked with Culture Pham Travels who organised a lovely guide Ms Lyly and driver Mr De. Mr De picked us up from the airport in Da Nang. Took us for break fast. Mr De's English is very good and could be a tour guide on his own. Ms Lyly really had a lot of knowledge of the area. We did a dragon boat ride on Perfume river. We went and saw the pagoda/temple. We then went to the tombs. Then we went to the citadel. We took a muck longer time in the imperial city than was planned because we were having a wonderful time. We were late by 2 hours when we returned because we wanted to spend more time at the sights. They gave us a phenomenal lunch at a local restaurant in Hue City. Loved the trip and highly recommend Mr De and Ms Lyly and the organising by Culture Pham. Don't miss it!
Mr De was an amazing and gracious guide and driver for us during our day visiting Hue from Da Nang. He explained the locations we were visiting in great detail and also was very professional throughout. Great experience for us!
My family had a great time with Ms. Ngoc and Mr. Vu as our guides. They were very informative and gave us the flexibility to explore the different sites at a comfortable pace for our family. Highly recommended!
We had an excellent day tour, and everything went smoothly. We were picked up at our Da Nang hotel and proceeded through Hai Van Pass, making a couple stops along the way to take pictures and try some driver-recommended coconut coffee. When we were dropped off at the Tomb of Khai Dinh, we officially met our tour guide, Hoang. Hoang speaks English very well and was extremely informative at each step of the tour. During lunch, we were met with a variety of food that Hoang was more than happy to explain how they're prepared and how to eat them. We had banh cuon, banh khoai, nem lui, and banh beo. At the end of the tour, we said our goodbyes to Hoang, and the driver drove us back to our hotel.
Mr Hau and Ms Ha were fantastic with us all day. From a prompt and early pick up in Da Nang to various picturesque stops on the way to Hue to the fabulous tour of the magnificent Hue and a great lunch. All went smoothly and me a my family had an awesome, educational and fun trip…. Thanks !
Our driver, Mr De is really punctual and professional. He speaks good English, we had a great time chatting with him. He drives very safely and we fell asleep on the way back! Customer service responded our enquires via WhatsApp very quickly and provides varies payment methods which makes the booking very convenient.
Excellent day trip from Da Nang to Hue to visit all the highlights of the imperial city including Hue Citadel, Thien Mu pagoda, Khai Dinh tomb, and a dragon boat trip on the Perfume River. All sites are fabulous and lunch was lovely included. Our tour guide Mr. Hoa was excellent and we learned a lot from this tour. The best tour ever- highly recommend it.
Great experience even it was raining in Hue. Our tour guide in Hue and driver Mr. Tri did an excellent job. They both provided good quality services and were able to answer all our questions. We visited Khai Dinh and Minh Mang royal tombs, the ancient citadel and pagoda, a dragon boat trip on Perfume river. Lunch at an authentic restaurant was delicious. Highly recommend this tour.
We enjoyed our first visit with very helpful tour. Choice of places to visit including lunch place was very good. The guide is a very warm person and speaks fluent English and we were able to spent enough time at each place.
We stayed in Da Nang and would like to visit Hue Imperial citadel. Looking up on the internet and we found this tour company- the NO.1 ranking on Tripadvisor in Hue. Promptly Hoa arrange a private tour to visit Hue imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda and Royal Tombs for us! It was such a great memory. On the way, our driver stoped at Hai Van Pass, Lang Co beach and Lap An brackish lagoon. Our guide in Hue was very friendly and knowledale. We learnt a lot from this tour. Thank you again for a great memory!
The day was perfectly calibrated. Departure from the hotel with Mr Hai who drove masterfully all the way with smile and kindness. The stops were well thought out, the visits perfectly commented by Mrs Nhi smiling and fine connoisseur of her subject. The scenery, the sights, the timing, everything was perfect! And, lunch included in the day at a small local restaurant was again a treat! In short, we recommend! Thank you again for a wonderful day in Hue!
La qualité de la guide, sa très bonne connaissance de l'histoire du Vietnam impérial et sa grande disponibilité et patience. Une très belle journée très enrichissante qui nous donne envie d'en savoir plus et de revenir.
