I have written hundreds of reviews as I have traveled the world over the years and take providing feedback seriously, so I hope you find my review helpful. If you want an easy-to-follow, hands-on, delicious way to experience Vietnamese cuisine in a clean and sanitary kitchen, I highly recommend this affordable class. I love taking local cooking classes when I travel, and this one truly stood out. Our instructor, Jane, was patient, engaging, and excellent at breaking each dish down step by step. We learned how to prepare four Vietnamese favorites: fresh papaya salad, fresh spring rolls, crispy savory pancakes, and the signature dish of Vietnam—beef phở. The flavors of the final dishes were authentic, vibrant, and honestly much easier to achieve than I had anticipated. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I also really appreciated how clean, organized, and sanitary the teaching kitchen was. It made me completely comfortable eating the food we prepared. We found this class on Viator for around $28 per person and it lasted between 2-3 hours. The value far exceeded the price. Please note: we did not choose a pick-up or drop-off options as the local taxis (via Grab) are super easy, affordable and convenient. The experience was very. relaxed, educational, and we even got to sample their egg coffee from their coffee class. Thank you, Jane for that special treat. The egg coffee blew my mind. Delicious. They also have a coffee class we will be sure to check out. I did not grow up eating Vietnamese food and I was blown away on how delicious everything was during my visit to Vietnam. Thanks to this class, I can now at least bring a few flavors home with me. Thank you, Jane!

I always try to take a local cooking class when I travel, and this one in Da Nang ended up being one of my favorites. Our instructor, Jane, was incredibly patient and walked us through four classic Vietnamese dishes: papaya salad, fresh spring rolls, crispy savory pancakes, and a really flavorful Beef Pho. The class was easy to follow, hands-on, and the pacing was perfect. For a 3-hour session, the $28 price was a great value. They also run a coffee-making class, and we even got to sample their egg coffee—which was a fun surprise and really delicious. Overall, an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Great food, great teacher, and a great way to dive into local Vietnamese cooking. Highly recommend!
Great instruction and conversation. Easy to follow with the guides help. Outstanding food crating 4 dishes. No visit to the market garden but just focusing on the cooking.
What an awesome experience! I signed up for a Farming, Market & Home Cooking Class not knowing what to expect, and it turned out to be amazing. The instructor JANE, was incredibly, professional and friendly, it felt more like spending time with a family friend than taking a class. I learned, laughed a lot, and tasted some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. I so loving every minute during the class. I highly recommend this to everyone who will visit Da Nang Vietnam 🇻🇳
This was a wonderful experience and Nhi, our cooking instructor is a truly fantastic person. Couldn't have asked for a better way to do this!
My family and I had a good time on this tour. Lyn our guide was friendly and informative and made us feel welcome. The highlights for us were meeting the lovely people in the garden and cooking some delicious food. A point off is due to the rather large size of the group we were put in making the kitchen a little squeezy and though the market part was interesting, no coffee was provided and we had to buy our own water.
We have wonderful time starting from farming experience, touring local market to authentic cooking. The coach is cheerful and the overall experience is fun. A memorable experience highly recommended!
Ms Lyn is extremely welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable during the whole experience. You have will discover culture while having fun . Dont doubt about taking this class, for me , amazing.
We vad a very good time! Friendly and pleasant staff. The dishes were really good and a nice insight in Vietnamese cooking.
We had a wonderful time with Lyn. We loved walking through the market and trying all the different things. There was so much food in the class, that we were stuffed and couldn't finish everything. Definitely the highlight of our trip!
It’s awesome experience and i totally enjoyed. Lyn is friendly and a great chef too. The 4 dishes were yummy and easy to prepare.
The class was well organized & fun and the dishes we made are so tasty. Loved those colorful rice papers used in the class and took some home. Highly recommended!
Lynn is a lovely person who was our guide and we also did a motorcycle food tour with her. This class and the tour were so well organised and a joyful fun filled time.
Fun to visit the farm, reminded me of young days in Singapore village where I grown up from. All city boys and girps should give it a try.
Loved the whole experience and being in a small group being able to ask questions. I have started using these recipes at home now as the food was so delicious.
This cooking class was so much more than just a cooking class! Lyn, our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Our first stop was a beautiful small local farm. The owner greeted us with so much love and showed us a sliver of her daily gardening routine. Then we headed out to a local market near us to pick up some local vegetables. Got a fresh avocado shake/cream while we were there and it was delicious. From the market, we took off to get to our cooking class. Lyn and her lady team in the kitchen took great care of us and made the class easy and enjoyable. We got to make 4 dishes in generous portions. Everything was so good! I appreciated that Lyn took some pictures for us and sent us those pictures along with the recipe after the class. Thank you Team Da Nang Home Cooking Class!
What a fun way to learn how to cook Vietnamese food! There were two children in our group (10 and 14) and we all had a ball. Our tour started with us learning about growing at the farm and included planting and watering before we headed to the market to buy some additional ingredients. We had a lot of fun making the dishes before enjoying the delicious food we created. Everything was clean and fresh. With full bellies, our tour concluded with a relaxing foot massage. A great experience!
Lyn was an amazing teacher and brought us to a local farm and market, and gave us a lot of good recommendations on where to eat. I highly recommend taking this class (come hungry).
Good experience n learning at farm n esp local market. Hands on cooking with helpful tips. Host Lyn, her mum n Sophia were helpful n demonstrate well. Great conversations as Lyn speaks good English. Enjoyed our class much.
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this cooking class. So much was included in the day and it was very fun. It was very easy to organize pick ups and drop offs. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you!
Lin and all involved in Da Nang home cooking treated us to a marvelous morning, from the urban farm, to Bac My An, to the cooking class. I highly recommend you do this great activity.
This was a great experience for me and my two children (14 and 12). We experienced the whole tour and loved being on the farm with Sandy, who was amazing at 77 doing everything manually! My kids loved her. The market was interesting and so cheap and we got all of the ingredients we needed. The house was lovely and it was great to cook and enjoy the first two dishes and then cook some more and savour the last two. The teachers were so helpful and welcoming. They were friendly and shared much about the culture and food in Vietnam. There was a surprise foot spa at the end as well which was lovely. All in all it was fantastic and well worth doing with this professional company. Many thanks for a great afternoon.
This was a wonderful way to fully immerse yourself in the culture. Shopping in the market, seeing the coconut forrest and cooking traditional food made for an awesome experience. Hon was our guide and was very knowledgeable. He instructed our group on how to cook all the dishes. I highly recommend this experience.
What a phenomenal day! Anna introduced us to many things at the Central Market and then we learned so much during our cooking class! Thank you!!
We loved this tour so much! The lovely Trang was our teacher and she was funny and a great teacher at the same time. We had booked for Da Nang but were asked to come to Hoi An and we are glad we did as the setting was stunning - surrounded by water, cooking in the open air. Just heavenly. We went to the bustling market where Trang explained things to us in good English. We then went on a boat ride which was insanely fun! Then we learnt how to make rice milk and rice paper using old machines. That part was such fun. Then we cooked 4 dishes, pho bo, spring rolls, beef salad and crispy pancakes. All were delicious. The equipment was good, everything provided nicely. Would highly recommend. Great value for money and a good way to meet people.
We spent half a day with Qui, from 8:30am to 12pm. First, we visited Hoi An market to buy few ingredients and learn about local herbs and vegetables. We then moved to Bay Mau, a fishing area surrounded by wild coconut trees. Here, a local fisherman (I presume) took us on a short trip around the canals on a traditional round boat. We got to taste wild coconut, however the rest of the tour was not very interesting. I strongly suggest to take mosquitoes repellent with you. Our cooking class took place at a nearby stilt house overlooking a small crab bay. Qui showed us traditional techniques used to dehusk rice, produce rice milk and fresh rice paper, and she let us try it. She then showed us how to prepare 4 traditional Vietnamese dishes: 2 types of spring rolls, rice pancakes, southern-style vermicelli and Hanoi-style pho. She provides a cooking book at the end of it. Please notice that although this is called ‘Da Nang cooking class’ this is actually held in Hoi An because of Covid. We were surprised about this, but Qui arranged transportation both ways. Totally worth it!
My son and I had a fabulous time on the cooking class. We were taught by Ai and Cindy and both were really friendly and informative. We started with the coffee tasting, then a trip around the market to buy our fruit etc and then off to the cooking class, where the food we cooked was fresh and delicious. Both the ladies were really friendly and helpful and are a real asset to the company. We would highly recommend this trip.
We did our cooking class with Ai and Cindy. We learned lots at the market and chose fruits to have for dessert. The coffee stop before the class was great and we really enjoyed learning to make the spring rolls, sour fish soup, papaya salad and chicken wings. There were only 2 of us in the class with them so we had lots of fun and laughs. I would highly recommend it!
We had planned to spend our time in Da Nang at the beach, but Mother Nature wasn't cooperating. This cooking class was a great alternative. We enjoyed wandering through the market, sipping Vietnamese coffee, and then everything at the school. We made spring rolls (fried, we prefer fresh, but these were very good), fish soup, green papaya salad, chicken wings and fresh fruit. It was our family and one other - so only 8 people in the class with 4 helpers. It was a great size for interacting, taking photos, getting to know each other, and having fun. The food ended up being delicious and we will definitely try to make some of the dishes at home. We thought the price was good - there were other classes cheaper and some significantly more expensive. This one was kind of in the middle. High quality fresh food and opportunities to prepare the dishes (with someone else washing the dishes!). Overall a great way to spend the morning - PLEASE NOTE - transportation after the class is not provided, but a GRAB back to the beach hotel area is not expensive.
The hosts for this class are so welcoming, patient, flexible and friendly! Their enthusiasm makes the class even more exciting. The hosts are extremely professional--they are organized, prepared, time-conscious and knowledgeable. The hosts pay close attention to hygiene--they encourage participants to wash their hands frequently, provide participants with gloves and aprons and clean the food preparation areas. The hosts give everyone in the class the opportunity to work on specific aspects of the cooking, which was fun. I highly encourage this course!
Four of us did the cookery class, it was unfortunately raining on the day so we didn’t get to visit the farm but we had coffee at a local place with our guide after we were picked up from our hotel. We visited Han market together and then headed back to the house to meet the rest of the group and start the cooking process. In total there were 8 people and we cooked 4 different Vietnamese dishes. None were particularly difficult to prep or cook but all tasted good. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we had lots of laughs and good conversation as we cooked and ate. Having the recipes sent to us means we can recreate at home. I’d recommend the home cooking class to anyone who wants a fun easy few hours where you’re also well fed!
The trip started with a visit to a local home to see a demonstration of floor mats being weaved then on to the local market to buy the produce to cook the food on the menu we had decided upon. A quick visit to another spot to see how noodles are hand made, then onto our guides family home to prepare and cook our food. Very educational and great fun. Our guide and chef Dat has a good knowledge of English and worked hard to ensure our small group had a good time.
Thoroughly enjoyed our morning cooking class with Ai. We made delicious spring rolls, chicken wings and soup with the freshest ingredients. Ai was very lovely with excellent English! We are basic cooks and so had a good time but probably not the course for you if you are a more advanced chef looking to build your skills!
We took the cooking class about 3 weeks ago, it was having a huge storm approaching to the coastline of Danang so our original tour got cancel. Luckily we managed to book this class last minute with all indoor so it didn't got affected by the bad weather. Two young instructors are nice and give good support, guidance to my family on how to make a traditional Vietnamese dish. We enjoyed it a lot, unfortunately we had breakfast before so we have quite some leftover after the class. Will be nice if the class advise us come with empty stomach so we will be a lot more enjoying the food :)
I participated the cooking class with my girlfriend. There was great service which provide by ( Crew) AI. She was a talkative person and usually share happiness with us. We felt satisfied for these cooking experience. Thank you
We had a happy and relaxing afternoon with the hosts today! We went to Han Market for some local coffee, we chose milk coffee (black coffee and condensed milk) and coconut smoothie! They tasted really good! After that, we bought some fruits and return to the cooking venue. We created 4 dishes together and they tasted so good! The hosts are friendly and helpful, I really recommend this activity for those who would like to chat with the locals and learn some dishes together!
We had a great time with Ai and Cindy, first we visited a local organic farm and met the lovely farmer and got to try the vegetables, then we took a tour of the market which included a stop for coffee. We cooked 4 dishes and they all tasted delicious. The only thing which would make it better would be to give recipe books/cards to take home so we can practice!
The teacher is extremely friendly, she shows us around at the farm and the market and tell us a lot about the culture of Vietnam. The class is interesting, we have a wonderful time!
The guide is so friendly and good at English. We had a chance to learn about vietnamese cuisine as well as local life style. Ai- the tour guide, she is so patient to explain clearly for us step by step when I cooked so finally, the foods was so tasty. Highly recommend this experience !
The staff is very friendly and cheerful. They will try their best to meet your requirements. The food is super delicious and local. I enjoy it so much with my friends :D
The tutors are very nice and kindly! First, they bring us to the local market and introduce different kinds of vegetables and fruits to us which some of them are not appear in Hong Kong, very interesting! Then start cooking! Actually I’m not good at cooking but they explain step by step clearly, so that I can cook hahaa!!! And the dishes are really delicious, I will try to cook them again when I back home ~
My family and I were fortunate enough to have a private(?) tour and cooking class. Although our hotels was not on the list of hotels available for pick-up, our tour guide Ai was able to arrange a pick up service for us with a small fee. After the pick up, we went for the local farm experience. We stopped by the Han market afterwards to buy some fruits to eat after our cooking class. As the weather was very hot, our guide Ai adjusted the schedule so that we could start the cooking class early. Our cooking teacher Cindy and guide Ai were great with the kids and our kids enjoyed the cooking class very much. It was a great opportunity to learn various different dishes. I would most definitely recommend the experience to other family with kids just to have the opportunity to learn the different foods.
Very nice and friendly tour guide! We can try to be a farmer and walk around the local market. The cooking class is great and just like cooking in a family. The food is also yummy!
We met a friendly and knowledgeable guide Ai showing us around in local market and organic farm. She also helped us bargain with vendors to get top quality souvenirs. Also, cooking class teacher Cindy is kind and experienced. With her guide, you could make lots of delicious dishes in a short time. Highly recommend to join the tour if you want to try some authentic local food here!
Absolutely loved the cooking class. Very good instructor and food was easy and delicious. Highly recommend.
Our teachers, Ai and Cindy are good in English and cooking! Ai contact me one day before the class for the time arrangement. She also booked a car to pick up us at the hotel. When we arrived, there were only three of us to attend the class in the afternoon session. The atmosphere is still very fun and friendly. We learnt to make the papaya salad, deep fried spring rolls, lemongrass chicken wings and fish soup. All these are easy to make and handle the ingredients. They also offered step by step demonstration to us which is super helpful and patient! After the cooking, they chit chatted with us and recommended some local restaurants. Definitely recommend it!
Ai and Cindy are very nice to teaching us how to cook DA Nang food. We know many culture of Da Nang form them. At the end of the class, they send us the recipe of the cooking class. The recipe includes massage and good restaurant at Da Nang. Very useful information. 🤗🤗
It was first day for the Danag, and first family trip. we had great great time at the Home cooking class with staff Ai and Cindy. They were very supporting my family, and We leaned alot about vietnamese food and Danag local culture. My parents really loved the cooking class 🤗 and also food was so good!!Thank you so much xoxoxo👏 I will recomamd my friends who wanna visit Danag😍
Ai picked us up at the hotel and started our "farm to table" foodie journey. My nose will always remember the fragrance of fresh mint and different basils in the air in the organic farm. The second stop at the Han Market was a sensory overload - such a vibrant market for locals and travelers. Ai introduced us the produces unique in Danang and Vietnam. Our last stop was the kitchen, where we as culinary novices managed to pull out a 3 course meal and a soup with the aid of Ai and her colleague. It was the highlight of our trip. We enjoyed very much in getting the insider perspective from Ai about the local Vietnamese culture and economy.
I attended the cooking class with my parents and we had such a great time, especially my father-who never cooks at home-. The staffs were lovely and helpful, teaching us so friendly and the people in our group were very nice too! If you want to learn the traditional vietnamese cooking and meet other people around the world, this class is definitely the one that you must do in Da Nang.
