Hoi An & Da Nang Private Day Tour & Shore Excursion

The tour was very well structured, informative and a lot of fun. Our guide Eric was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and attentive and gave us a glimpse of Hoi An and Da Nang that we won't forget! We saw a lot in one day but never felt rushed and we really got to absorb the environments we got to visit!

I booked a shore excursion to Da Nang and Hoi An with Eric, who was a pleasure to work with. I sent many messages with questions and Eric always responded promptly. We customized the tour to see everything I was interested in. Lunch was included on this full day tour. We were a group of 8 from a Princess ship, and Eric arranged a 15-seat van so we would all be comfortable. Bottles of water were on the van. Drop off at the ship was included, which was added insurance in case unexpected traffic delayed the return to the ship. Eric was waiting a very short walk from the pier and we had a wonderful tour with him. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. We visited everything on the itinerary, which included the Linh Ung Pagoda (with the tallest Buddha statue in S.E. Asia), the Dragon Bridge, the Marble Mountains, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hoi An, and the Con Market (a huge market in Da Nang with hundreds of vendors). We had a Banh Mi lunch at a local restaurant in Hoi An (recommended by Anthony Bourdain) with a choice of what we ordered. We all enjoyed it. I heartily recommend Eric for his tour in Vietnam.

What a fabulous day with our guide Dat and driver Levi! We (eight in our party) were picked up at a park where our ship shuttle bus dropped us off. We boarded a very nice and comfortable vehicle and off we went. First stop, coffee shop where we discussed our days activities. We toured De Nang, Marble Mountain, Hoi An, night market and Dragon Bridge. Eric and Dat let us customize our tour, providing us with great advice. Our tour started at 8:15am and ended at 10:00pm. Long and wonderful day. Seeing Hoi An at night magical. Dat recommended a great restaurant for dinner in Hoi An. What our group liked the most about our tour is they listened to what we wanted to see and provided great information to make our tour special. We all gave our tour a 10+. Dat and Levi drove us all over Danang and surrounding features quickly and safely. We were able to stop and explore whenever we wanted and the van was always just minutes away. Eric was exemplary from start to finish. He adapted the day effortlessly to our wishes and pace, all while keeping a five-year-old happily engaged throughout, no small achievement. We had half a day before flying out. I contacted Eric who also arranged our airport transfer. He arranged a private half day tour, pick up from our hotel and drop off at the airport. Such an amazing day. And our guide Annie was knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. She is from Hou An and so has an understanding of the culture and people. We lived strolling the streets, eating at a local restaurant, and going to Marble Mountain. Every moment magical.

We had a fantastic day strolling the streets of Hoi An with a local guide - Annie. It was our favorite day so far in Vietnam. We went to the silk factory and observed artists at work. We also had coffee at a local cafe. We strolled over the Japanese bridge and through the markets with the gorgeous lanterns that dotted the landscape. Annie showed us a local lunch site and the food was Delicious and authentic. We then went to Marble Mountain and the Dragon bridge. Annie made the day for us. She was warm, hospitable, and funny! Great day.

Our tour guide Qing Qing was excellent, she did a great job, very knowledgeable and caring lady. Give her 👍👍👍. Looking forward to our next trip.

Eric was a fantastic guide, and he has perfect English. We learnt so much and enjoyed many local experiences, from local coffee to Banh My and cooling energising herbal tea. A day to remember.

Eric met us at 9am at the dock gates as arranged. We had arrived by the ship Azamara Journey. We enjoyed so many wonderful sights in Da Nang and Hoi An. Because Eric is local he knew all the best places to take us for coffee, for lunch and for energising herbal tea. Our driver was also very good and it was so nice to be in a comfortable air conditioned car when travelling from place to place. It was a very professional tour and we leave Hoi An with great memories.

The tour was a very full day and also extremely well-planned. My tour guide was Rin and he and the driver promptly met me at the lobby of my hotel at the stated time. Rin was so thoughtful and kind and always made sure I was comfortable because it was quite a hot day. And he's an excellent photographer! I usually book private tours so I can enjoy a city without having my head buried in a map trying to find things. I was really happy with all of the experiences, the coffee and restaurant selection were among the best quality I've had in Vietnam. It felt like a very premium tour and excellent value.

We had the best time. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgable. The driver picked us up so we felt like movie stars all day! Excellent service.

Su picked us up at the port in Da Nang and we explored Da Nang and Hoi An extensively. We visited the Lady Buddha, Han market, Marble Mountains, and all of the sites in Hoi An. Had a wonderful baguette sandwich for lunch and a beer along the river in Hoi An at the end of the day. Could not have been any more fun. We felt like we got a real flavor for Da Nang. Su's English was EXCELLENT. He was engaging and insightful and provided wonderful background on the sites we were visiting. Highly recommend this tour!

Our family of 7 from the U.S. LOVED our half-day tour of Hoi An with Eric! He was so responsive, getting back to us in a matter of hours (even in the days after his new baby was born!). His prices were also very competitive. He picked our group up in an air-conditioned, clean van. We saw ancient town, did the fun coconut boat tour and a lantern boat tour of the river, and wandered the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An. He was very flexible, adding a visit to the tailor and to a banh mi cafe once we mentioned that we were interested. Eric's English was impeccable, his knowledge of Vietnam history was deep, and his warmth, care, and enthusiasm made him a hit with everyone from our 3 young kids to my 70-year-old mom. We could not have had as smooth, organized, or knowledgeable a trip without him. We could not recommend him more!

Hoi A was our favorite and highlight. Having a small group is the only way to go. Our tour guide was excellent. We highly recommend this tour.

We met Nhi at the port shuttle drop off in DaNang and drove along Son Tra(China Beach) to Linh Ung Pagoda. The Pagoda, the Temple grounds with marble carvings and bonsai trees and Lady Buddha were amazing. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating and our umbrellas and rain jackets were not sufficient! On to Marble Mountain. First we visited a Traditional Marble Handicraft carving shop at marble village to experience the skillful local marble carvers. The marble sculptures were abundant and masterful. Then at the base of the mountain we purchased full length rain ponchos! Then proceeded to climb 128 marble steps to the fascinating caves with temples, pagodas and Buddhas. We loved it all. By the time we arrived at Hoi An, we were ready for lunch. Nhi recommended the Hoi A delicacies, white rose sticky rice dumpling and fried wonton, at the White Rose Cafe. Both were delicious and we ordered more! Then onto Old Town, where we visited a 10th generation Chinese home and folklore museum, with an interesting gift shop, where we purchased many beautiful gifts and treasures. We walked down the busy streets lined with shops and cafes, to the waterfront, filled with boats with lanterns ready to take tourists for a river ride. Instead we went to the Art Performance House and enjoyed Vietnamese folklore music and dance. Onto the outdoor market, purchasing more gifts! Nhi pointed out the healthy fruits, vegetables, and herbs in the market. She bought us a delicious dessert of beans that we would never have thought to try! And later she bought us coconut water with coconut slices and dried turmeric and ginger , for nursing my scratchy throat. As we wondered into the night market we stopped at a beautiful Chinese temple, as it was closing. The colorful lanterns light the way back to the car for the drive to Da Nang shuttle bus. Nhi was so delightful, caring, knowledgeable, friendly…simply the best tour guide! She made this very rainy day exceptional!

We loved our tour with Eric around Da Nang / Hoi An! Leading up to the tour, Eric was extremely responsive, flexible, and helped us build the perfect itinerary to suit our interests. It was so special being able to tour Eric’s hometown with him- his passion and character shines through as he not only shared interesting facts about each attraction, but also wove in his own personal experiences and memories. Our tours of Hoi An and Da Nang stretched over two days. Eric was a fabulous guide who compiled a comprehensive itinerary to ensure we got as much out of our visits as possible. Tour of the market and Hoi An walking. We spent a wonderful day with Eric discovering about the city's history, architecture, and stunning scenery. We also went on a food tour of the Central Market and sampled some delicious local cuisine, including Cao Lau, Quang noodle, dumplings, and other tasty delicious foods. We had a great time on our tour and thought Eric was a lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. We 100% agree that everyone traveling to Hoi An should take this tour.

We took in total 2 tours with Eric as Tourguide. A full day trip to the city of Hue (from Danang via Hai Van Pass) and a half day trip through his hometown Hoi An. Both trips were really great and made a lot of fun. But both trips have ben really informativ and we learned a lot about vietnamese culture and local traditions etc. Eric answered just about every question. Last week I went to Hoi An. I had a great experience when I was here. My favorite thing is to walk around the "pho co Hoi An" in the evening. Also, the people here are very personable. In the future, I will definitely go back to Hoi An soon.
