Jésus was amazing and the food was delicious! Fun sampling exotic fruits at the market, then getting great tips from the chef that are generalizable to all types of cooking. He made the class super fun and was a highlight of our time in Cusco.

Jorge & Jesus are great chefs and you learn a lot in the market and while cooking. Great conversation and such a unique experience.
Very knowledgeable and funny guide and chef, I had an amazing time preparing a four course meal (tamales, cause, ceviche, and pistarones) with local ingredients after a trip to the market. Had lots of fun making two Peruvian cocktails (pisco sour and chicha punch) as well. I loved that I was provided with a tasty local vegetarian options to replace the chicken in the causa and the fish in the ceviche. I wholeheartedly recommend!
Wonderful San Pedro Market tour, trying fruits, cheese, breads, chocolates, The Best dish Vegan Causa Limeña, cebiche, quinoa tamal... And the pisco cocktails,,
I really loved how this tour began in the local market and you got to see where all your ingredients were coming from. Markets can be very intimidating as a tourist, especially when they’re heavily used by locals as it can be confusing and you feel in the way. The market tour with the guide allowed me to properly enjoy it. This was only the beginning. The food we prepared was so tasty and delicious. I find it hard to believe anyone could have it and not enjoy it. The cocktails were also so amazing. Our chef, Jesus, was so knowledgeable and friendly about Cusco, Peru and food. It was truly an all encompassing experience.
I learnt so much about ingredients, cooking and Peruvian culture. The cooking class facility was spotless. The two cooking aids were seamless in their service. I was able to transfer what I learnt to a tasty dinner at home last night.
It was a highlight of our Peru trip. It was such a fun vibe! As a vegan it was great to learn how to make Peruvian dishes!
My husband and I had a blast in our cooking class with Chef Jorge! We enjoyed the market tour, sampling and learning about various local foods like different varieties of passion fruit and a traditional Peruvian bread. For the cooking portion of class, we really enjoyed making the drinks (pisco sour and chicha morada), as well as the three courses (ceviche, tamales, and causa). We are both vegan and appreciated that the menu could be accommodated for us. There was so much food that we unfortunately were too full to eat dessert, but we were able to take it to go and thoroughly enjoyed it later. Everything was delicious, and Jorge did a great job of explaining the instructions and introducing each course. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cusco!
Jorge was an awesome guide and chef during the hours we shared in Cusco. The experience started with a tour of el Mercado de San Pedro, which was super cool. We learned about the many different kinds of food produced here in Peru. After that we walked to the class kitchen where we learned how to make ceviche, tamales y causa, as well as two cocktails 🤤. I am vegetarian but that was no problem at all! E.x. Instead of fish I made mango ceviche. Great way to spend 4 hours in Cusco.
This was a wonderful experience! I did the vegan version and everything was so delicious…Jorge was so joyful and eager to teach and share his cooking experience! The maket visit was super interesting as well!
I enjoyed the cooking class and market tour. Jorge was very comprehensive and friendly so I am confident to cook them at home by myself!
The perfect experience to get to know whats in your plate for the rest of your trip! In the msrket you’ll learn about the food, the context of each type of produces and there uses. Afterwards you’ll get to make meals out of the produces. Amazing experience 💜
I’ve been in Peru for 2 weeks and this has been my favorite experience so far! As a solo traveler I felt very safe and welcomed by the instructor and the people in my group. We made the most delicious foods and drinks, learned about each one, and had a good time getting to know each other. Lots of smiles and laughs together. The instructor was also very accommodating to anyone with special diets or food allergies. Truly an amazing time and I’d recommend this experience to anyone!!
The description calls this a vegan cooking class, but it's actually a regular class with vegan substitutions for the meat and cheese. The class was fun though, and the food was delicious. With the presentation, your dish looks like it came from a fancy restaurant.
Alvaro was the best chef and teacher! He taught us all about the peruvian foods and accommodated my food restriction. I had a wonderful time learning new recipes and meeting the other participants:) 10/10 would recommend !!!
The meeting point can be confusing . They asked to meet at door number one. Its very clearly marked on the lower portion , once you see it its on the actual green door to the main entrance .
A necessary experience to get to know Peruvian gastronomy and the enormous variety of fruits and vegetables that are grown in Peru, with a visit to the market we chose the ingredients to prepare our dishes, Jesus explained to us with great passion how to cook each dish, telling us about its culture, a tour that you cannot miss, we will definitely return!! Thank you very much Jesus! Long live Peru! Greetings from Argentina, Fer and Nacho
I loved learning how to make tamales, a whisky sour (without alcohol for me) and shopping for our ingredients at a lively, colorful Peruvian market. We had a lot of fun as the other people attending this activity lived all over the world and made it fun!!!
Enjoyed exploring the market. The class was fantastic. The chef was very knowledgeable. We made some really tasty alternatives for some classic Peruvian dishes like Cerviche. The only reason I haven't given this a 5 is because I feel the marketing via Viator is misleading as this was a general cooking class with vegan options not a specifically vegan cooking class. Therefore, anyone attending the tour would need to make the chef aware at the start if they have any dietary requirements. Other than that, everything was great. We had a fantastic evening.
5 stars. We really enjoyed our experience. Great food and cocktails. Jesus was very knowledgeable and friendly and it was a very professional setup. Can’t recommend highly enough. Definetely the best thing we’ve done in Peru.
My experience with chef Jesus has been the highlight of my time in Cusco!! If you do one organized tour here -- it should be this one! I did the Vegan food tour while my husband hiked Rainbow Mountain, and wound up being the only person on the tour. I was grateful he went ahead with only one guest and felt so special! He is incredibly knowledgeable about Peruvian history and food and was happy to answer my many, many questions. The market tour was really great. Since I don't speak Spanish very well, I wouldn't have been able to experience so many different things without his guidance. The food was AMAZING and will be one of my favorite meals I've had in Peru. (And how fun that I got to make the dishes myself!!) He's obviously a very accomplished chef and I felt very lucky to be able to get some lessons in Peruvian cooking from him. The cocktails were also very special and delicious. I'm so greatful for such a special experience!!
A must do experience if you are in Cusco! Jesus was extremely accommodating with my allergies. His recipes are absolutely delicious!! My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the day.
The cooking class and tour was amazing! Learned so much in the market tour and was able to try local fruits, cheese and chocolate before the cooking portion even began. Chef Jesús was engaging and funny while making multiple courses and cocktails. Would definitely do this tour again!
Thank you Jesus! It was wonderful, memorable, and very customizable. We were able to have some parts vegetarian. This is the best way to learn about a country!
Chef Jesus was wonderful. The market tour was fascinating and the food we made was really good. Pretty good cocktails too! Overall I highly recommend this class. If I’m ever back I’ll definitely do it again.
Can’t recommend this class highly enough. Able to accommodate vegan diets really well. A must-do activity if you are visiting Cusco!
Such a great experience!! The chef was so amazing and so accommodating to our needs (vegetarian). We a family of 6 had an amazing time cooking with chef Jesus. Would recommend this cooking class to everyone who wants to learn about traditional Peruvian cooking & ingredients.
We met Jesus at the San Pedro market where we tried some exotic Peruvian fruits, chocolates, and cheeses. He gave us an introduction to the market and showed different types of potatoes, corns, and other vegetables. It was already so much fun and this was just the first part. We then were supposed to walk to the studio but it started raining heavily. Jesus went above and beyond here and booked us a cab. We arrived to this beautiful studio with a nice cooking area already set up with the ingredients needed to get started. We started with a drink, Maracuya Sour, followed by Causa, Tamales, another drink (chicha punch), and ended with the Peruvian national dish, ceviche. During the entire cooking class, Jesus taught us cooking techniques, told us interesting stories from his past and answered all our questions. His assistant Lucy was always there replacing our used utensils and bowls with new utensils and next ingredients so that we were very efficient with our time and didn't feel rushed. In the end, there was also a dessert, Piccarones and chicha morada drink. I would advise going to this experience with an appetite because we literally had a four course meal. Jesus is accommodating towards vegetarian and vegan variations and has things prepared if you let him know beforehand. It was a memorable experience for both me and my wife and we will enjoy making these dishes again and again.
We loved this class and Jesus was fantastic. The market tour was fun and I ended up going back again to the places he took us - especially to get more chocolate! The class itself was well-paced, and his assistant Luci made it so easy for us to just cook and not worry about the mess. We had a blast and I'd say it was one of our favorite memories of being in Cusco.
This tour & class was exceptional. Jesus was very friendly & easy going. I was waiting at the wrong meeting locational & Jesus hung around for 15minutes until I found him. The market tour was really fun & exciting & I got to learn things by being with a local that I otherwise would not have had access to. After the tour we walked to Jesus’s kitchen where his assistant was waiting with all the ingredients prepped & ready to go. The kitchen space was very clean & inviting. The drinks & meals we made together were way better than I could have imagined. I learnt so much about Peruvian food & culture. Jesus has sent me all the recipes already & I will definitely be using them when I get home. I highly recommend doing any course with chef Jesus!
A vegan cooking class in the middle of Cusco, who would’ve thought?! The menu offered delicious traditional dishes and 3 equally delicious local cocktails. Although some ingredients were prepared on our behalf, Jesus explained the process for us to understand. You could really see his experience as a chef and the techniques his learnt along the way. It was amazing to walk through San Pedro markets which we probably would have missed if it wasn’t for this class. Jesus had a lot of local contacts and relationships with the shop keepers too! A must do whilst you’re visiting Cusco! Thank you for having us and sharing your knowledge and recipes!
The perfect trip to do in Cusco. The tour in San Pedro Market is a travel into Peru History. The cooking class is really wonderful with Chef Jesús. He is the master of peruvian cooking class
It was a great experience. First, the tour of the San Pedro market, knowing many ingredients and buying them to later cook Peruvian food. I must say that this food is plant-based. Chef Jesus is a wise master chef and knows everything about the history of Peru, each ingredient has a hidden secret that is revealed by Jesus. Thank you very much for this inspiring journey. I recommend it to everyone!
The best experience in Cusco. Chef Jesus is friendly and Knows everything about Peruvian culinary. The food is based plant. It is the best to do in Cusco. I recommend this cooking class !
This class was an amazing experience from beginning to end. We had a detailed tour of San Pedro Market (a traditional market in Cusco), where we received a lot of information about Peruvian foods and the culinary history of Peru. It was like a trip into Peru's soul. Then we went to a fancy kitchen, blocks away and prepared the meals, eating each one after we made it. Everything was made from the ingredients we bought in the market. We went over various selling stands and he told me about spices, veggies and fruits, grains, and root veggies. The best part of this class was Chef Jesus. He spoke great English and was patient and knowledgeable. We cooking class was 100% plant-based. We cooked Causa Limeña with vegan mayonnaise and cebiche 100% vegan, also the Quinoa tamal was perfect! We made pisco cocktails. I would 100% recommend this to anyone traveling to Cusco. This was an amazing experience. Thank you Jesus!
A great experience from start to finish, beginning with the tour of the stalls at the traditional market and the local fruits and vegetables.
Excellent attention and excellent chef
Very entertaining experience very fun class. The visit to the market was a culinary experience. Colors, flavors, spices and Chef's explanation was excellent
If excellent immersion in the gastronomic culture of Peru. Starting from the host's attention, the food was delicious, Lomo Saltado, highly recommended to do estta toactivity instead of going to dinner
Super organized Tooles cooking studio, very well explained in English, responded to personal questions very good value for money
The cooking class was definitely one of my highlights in Cusco. Chef Jesús has a lot of experience and his Peruvian recipes have a special twist. The cooking studio had a very relaxed atmosphere, I really enjoyed the afternoon and would definitely recommend the course. I'm looking forward to cooking the recipes at home:)
We loved the experience, the chef Jesus was wonderful. It took us to buy the ingredients in the market and then we went to the cooking studio. It was a great experience.
The vegan version is delicious Peruvian food. It is by far one of the best ways to get to know Peruvian culture.
A great experience! Chef Jesús is a master of Peruvian cuisine and history. The tour in the San Pedro market is informative and very entertaining, the fresh ingredients are bought in the same market and then cooked. The cooking classes are very entertaining, and chef Jesús is a super host.
Excellent experience through the gastronomic culture of Peru. Jesus is a great Chef, by far the best gastronomy teacher in Cusco It is an experience that I recommend to everyone who visits Cusco!
The cooking class with Jesus was great. The start at the market gave you another insight into the culture and Peruvian food and rounded off the course perfectly. Jesus took the time to answer all of our questions and gave us tips on cooking and eating out in Cusco. During the cooking course, Jesus also shows alternatives and the cooking course can also be vegan without any problems. We had a lot of fun in a great atmosphere.
This is the best Peruvian gastronomy tour I have done in Peru, I would definitely do it again. The tour of the San Pedro market and the vegan cooking classes are impressive, not only is the flavor spectacular, but also the narrative behind each ingredient and the fun way of cooking. Chef Jesús is entertaining, fun and provides a lot of information and history.
The course began with a super informative tour of the local market. Then we went to the cooking studio and prepared a variety of vegetarian dishes and mocktails (or cocktails for those who wanted). A very successful course across the board with super delicious dishes.
We did this Vegan cooking class last week on our trip to Cusco. I highly recommend it. It was 4 hours of gastronomic learning and a trip through the culinary history of Peru. Chef Jesus started the tour of the San Pedro market, we started by preparing maracuya Sour with fruits we bought at the market we visited. After we cook three plasters of Peruvian food, the chef teaches you how to chop everything and how to cook it correctly so that everything comes out very rich! I recommend it 100%
