My partner and I did the 2 day Inca Trail with Qoricancha Expeditions on 21 and 22 October, with Ronaldinho as our guide, and we had a fantastic experience. We would absolutely recommend them! Ronaldinho speaks really good English. We are Italian but live in the UK, and we generally find it easier to understand Spanish than English spoken with a strong Spanish accent. Since we don’t speak Spanish ourselves, it was great to be able to communicate easily with Ronaldinho and ask all our questions without struggling to make ourselves understood. The whole team was incredibly attentive and supportive. I’m five months pregnant with our first child, and although I’m fit and have been feeling well, I naturally had some doubts about doing the trek. Ronaldo and Ronaldinho were both amazing, always checking that I was comfortable and reassuring me along the way. They gave me walking poles and made sure the lunches were suitable for my dietary requests. I felt really well looked after throughout the whole experience. And the food was absolutely delicious, too! The trek itself was great fun, and I never felt rushed or pressured to walk faster than I was comfortable with. Ronaldinho was a brilliant guide, not only very patient and always happy to answer our questions, but also incredibly knowledgeable. He knows so much about the history and culture of the places we visited, and he has a lovely way of telling their stories that makes everything much more interesting and brings the places to life. You can really tell that he knows what he’s talking about and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. What stood out to us, though, was not just how good he was at his job, but also what a genuinely kind person he is. He was thoughtful towards everyone, not just us. At one point, he even helped a porter who was struggling on the final uphill section by carrying her heavy backpack. He was also always kind and encouraging towards his colleagues, which was lovely to see. Ronaldinho has such a calm, reassuring and caring presence, and he really made the experience even more special. We’re very grateful to him, Ronaldo and the whole Qoricancha Expeditions team for making this such a memorable experience for us. We would definitely recommend Qoricancha Expeditions to anyone thinking of doing the Inca Trail. And if you get Ronaldinho as your guide, you’re in very good hands! P.S. he also took very good pictures of us we'll treasure forever!

What an absolutely amazing experience! Ronaldino was a fantastic tour guide who made the entire adventure incredibly enjoyable and memorable. His knowledge, passion and friendly personality really added to the experience, and he made sure we were comfortable and having a great time throughout. The scenery was breathtaking, but having Ronaldino as our guide made the experience even more special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Peru! Thank you, Ronaldino, for an incredible experience!
Amazing experience. We had the two best guides ever - Diego and Ronaldo . They were so helpful, explained everything . And just really good humans. Alex was our Chef and the food was out of this world. All the boys, the porters , the tw us etc were so well planned. I went with 9 friends from uk and Australia. If you’re reading this - do it. It’s a trip of a lifetime. Ask for Ronnie and Diego and Alex ( chef) and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
My friend and I really loved the two day Machu Picchu trek, the shorter hike compared to the four days worked much better for our itinerary. The hike on day one is magnificent, stopping through several other Inca settlements before reaching the sun gate and Machu Picchu. It can be challenging at times with some stairs, but definitely worth it. The cooked lunch on day one was delicious, with a wide selection including trout, chicken, rice and salads. Our tour guide Simon Puma was very knowledgeable, funny, and made the trip a great time.
We had a great time. Everything was organized. We got from response responses and ability to customize our tour. Highly recommend!
So glad we booked this amazing experience with Qoricancha Expeditions. Prior to our Machu Picchu adventure all communications were handled flawlessly by Ronaldo, any prior questions or queries we had were answered in lightning speed. Thank you Ronaldo! I really cannot criticise one aspect of our 2 day trek at all. It was a real pleasure to trek alongside our guide Ronaldhino , what a gentleman, his English was impeccable and his knowledge of the trail, Machu Picchu and all things Peru second to none. We arrived at Machu Picchu through the legendary Sun Gate in perfect sunshine and trust me setting your eyes on this mystical Inca site for the first time via this “doorway” high above the citadel has to be the pinnacle of any other arrival experience. What more to say? Well on the second day once again in perfect early morning weather we got close up and personal to the ruins , visiting the living quarters of the Inca Royals, nobles and gentry. Once again our guide Ronaldhino was at hand to answer all of our questions and take lots of great pics of my daughter and I from all the best spots as he had indeed done on the previous day. Thank you Ronaldhino ! All meals, including dinner on the mountain were great alongside very comfortable overnight accommodation in Aguas Calientes. Thank you Qoricancha Expeditions for providing my daughter and I an amazing journey to one of the worlds most amazing places with memories to last a lifetime !
An absolute 10/10 experience! Our guide was fantastic and the food was incredible, our cook exceeded all expectations. I loved every single day of the trek. The landscapes were absolutely beautiful, and arriving at Machu Picchu was a dream come true. Highly recommended!
Our 2-day Inka Trail hike to Machu Picchu was an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. Everything was incredibly well organized, which made the entire trip smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. A special thank you to our guide, Aldo, who was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture along the trail. He made the experience even more meaningful and always made sure everyone felt comfortable and supported throughout the hike. We also really appreciated the excellent service and support from Ronaldo, whose communication, preparation, and attention to detail before and during the trip were outstanding. We always felt well informed and taken care of. The hotel included in the tour was excellent and very comfortable, and the picnic lunch on the hiking day was delicious, with a great variety of food that was perfect after the trek. Overall, this was an incredible experience and one we would highly recommend to anyone planning to visit Machu Picchu.
My sister and I traveled to Peru and booked the 5 day Cusco and Machu Picchu tour with Qoricancha Expeditions. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. Ronaldo made planning simple. He always replied quickly to emails, gave us all the details we needed, and even set up a video call to go over the itinerary and answer our questions before we left. His clear communication and organization made us feel confident right away. The best part of our trip was the 2-day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The hike was beautiful, with mountain views, original Inca stone paths, cloud forests, and amazing archaeological sites like Wiñay Wayna. Reaching the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu for the first time was a moment we will never forget. It was one of the most rewarding travel experiences we have ever had. Our guide, Simon, was fantastic throughout the trek and the whole tour. With more than a decade of experience, he shared interesting insights into the story, culture, and traditions, making every place we visited even more essential. He was patient, professional, and encouraging throughout the hike, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and had a good time. Ricardo, our driver, was also great, always on time and friendly. The hotels were great too. Rumipunku Hotel in Cusco was comfortable and close to everything. Sol Natura in the Sacred Valley was quiet and had beautiful views. Tierra Viva in Machu Picchu Pueblo was the perfect place to relax after our hike. Overall, the tour was excellent from beginning to end. We highly recommend Qoricancha Expeditions. Ronaldo and Simon were both outstanding, and Simon is one of the best guides we have ever had. This was an experience we will never forget.
We did the Short Inca Trail with Qoricancha Expeditions and had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Everything was extremely well organized, which made the whole trip very relaxing and enjoyable. The communication beforehand was excellent — all information was clear and detailed, and they took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. During the tour itself, everything went smoothly, especially the transportation and logistics. The food was fantastic throughout the trip, and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel: a very luxurious room with a jacuzzi, which was the perfect way to relax after the hike. The hike itself was breathtaking. The scenery and nature along the route were truly stunning. Our guide, Mr. Wilson, was outstanding. He shared so much interesting information about the flora and fauna, as well as the history, architecture, and culture of the Incas. Besides being incredibly knowledgeable, he also made a lot of fun jokes during the tour, which created a great atmosphere and made the experience even more enjoyable. We had two unforgettable days and would highly recommend Qoricancha Expeditions to anyone considering the Short Inca Trail. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
My sister & I (60+) did the 1 day trek to Machu Picchu followed by circuit 3 the next day. Ronaldo was very helpful in organising the trip, he even helped with a personal issue when we were in Cusco. Aldo was our guide, he was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. The first part of the trek is quite steep uphill for a couple of hours and because of the altitude we needed frequent stops, Aldo was very accommodating and patient. We had a lovely lunch cooked for us on the mountain (other people were given their lunch at the bottom and had to carry it). Arriving at the sun gate was amazing, we had plenty of time for photos before reaching the top of Machu Picchu, with more time for photos. We had a nice meal and stayed in a nice hotel. The next day we returned to do circuit 3, Aldo showed us round and shared the history. We were also given t-shirts and kit bags. A highly recommended tour and made better by the organisation and guiding of Ronaldo & Aldo. Thank you
Our 2-day, 1-night with Qoricancha Expeditions journey to Machu Picchu was an outstanding experience from start to finish, and much of that is thanks to Simon Puma and his exceptional level of service. Everything was incredibly well organized. Our trip began with a prompt hotel pickup and a smooth, comfortable car ride to Ollantaytambo. From there, we boarded a very clean and comfortable train that took us to the starting point of our hike. Every transition felt seamless and stress-free. The hike itself was unforgettable. We were treated to a freshly chef prepared, lunch right on the trail, which was both surprising and delightful. After lunch, we made a quick and interesting stop at the Wiñay Wayna ruins, adding even more depth to the experience. Simon made the entire trek enjoyable and relaxed—never rushing us, always making sure we were comfortable, and taking plenty of photos along the way so we could fully enjoy the experience without worrying about capturing every moment ourselves. What truly set Simon apart was his deep knowledge and passion for Inca history. He shared detailed explanations throughout the journey, bringing the surroundings to life in a meaningful and engaging way. We spent the night in Aguas Calientes at a comfortable three-star hotel, which provided a great opportunity to rest before the next day’s adventure. The following morning, we took a bus up to Machu Picchu, where we had ample time to explore the ruins at our own pace. Once again, Simon enriched the visit with fascinating historical insights while allowing plenty of time for photos and personal exploration. Overall, this experience was a perfect 10 out of 10. Simon, with his 20 years of guiding experience, delivered professionalism, organization, and top-tier service at every step. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable and well-guided trip to Machu Picchu.
We checked out a few travel agencies before choosing Qoricancha Expeditions for our 2 day hike to Machu Picchu. Ronaldo was great to work with. He replied quickly, shared all the tour details and set up an online call to explain the itinerary step by step. He made sure we understood everything before we left. Booking was easy and we paid by bank transfer with no extra fees. Simon, our guide, met us at our hotel the night before our trip at 6pm. He gave us a full briefing about the trek, what to pack and what to expect, which helped us feel prepared. We started early at 4am, traveled through the Sacred Valley and caught the 6:40am train to KM 104. After checking in with our passports, we began the hike. The first part of the hike was challenging but rewarding. We spent about three hours climbing uphill and reached an incredible Inca site. Simon shared lots of information about the orchids, birds and Inca history there. We enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch made by Chef Ramón, including vegetarian options. It was one of the highlights of the day. After lunch, we continued hiking through Gringo Killer and reached the Sun Gate, where we saw our first stunning views of Machu Picchu. The weather was perfect. From there, it took about 40 minutes to walk down to the citadel, where we enjoyed the afternoon scenery. We then took the bus to Aguas Calientes and stayed at the Inti Punku Machu Picchu Hotel, which was excellent. The next morning, we visited Machu Picchu for a guided tour of Circuit 3. Simon shared lots of historical insight about the site, which made the visit even more special. In the afternoon, we took the train back to the Sacred Valley, where our driver Miguel picked us up and took us back to our hotel in Cusco. Overall, we had an amazing experience with a small group of just four hikers. The team was professional, friendly and very organized. We highly recommend them. You’ll be in great hands.
We chose the 2-Day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Qoricancha Expeditions after a friend recommended it, and it ended up being one of the best choices we made during our trip to Peru. Right from the start, Ronaldo was great to work with. He helped us plan every part of the trip and set up several online calls to go over the itinerary and answer our questions. His personal attention made us feel confident and relaxed before we traveled. When we arrived in Cusco, our guide Wilson met us at our hotel and explained the hike in detail. He also arranged to have our bags sent to Aguas Calientes, so we only needed to carry a small daypack. Everything was very well organized. The tour began early at 4:00 a.m. We were picked up on time in a comfortable van and taken to the train station in the Sacred Valley. The drive was beautiful, and after checking in at the trailhead, we started our hike. Wilson is an outstanding guide. He is knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and always encouraging. He shared interesting facts about the Inca sites, helped us take great photos, and made sure we hiked at a pace that was comfortable for us. His explanations at the archaeological sites really brought the history to life. Another highlight was our picnic-style lunch. The chef made an excellent vegetarian meal that was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Thank you for that! In the afternoon, we hiked to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) in perfect weather, then arrived at Machu Picchu. We enjoyed the classic views and took amazing photos. Visiting later in the day was great because there were fewer people. After that, we took the bus down to Aguas Calientes and stayed overnight at Tierra Viva Hotel, which was excellent. We also had dinner at Full House Restaurant, and the food was very good. The next morning after breakfast, we took an early bus back up to Machu Picchu for our guided tour. Wilson once again went above and beyond, showing us the most important parts of the citadel with detailed and interesting explanations. It was an amazing and enriching experience. After the tour, we went back to town, had some free time for lunch, and then boarded the Vistadome Observatory train in the afternoon. The upgrade was definitely worth it. The views were spectacular, and the onboard entertainment made the trip even more fun. When we arrived in the Sacred Valley, David was there to meet us and drove us back to our hotel in Cusco, which wrapped up the experience perfectly. Overall, this was an excellent private tour with great coordination from start to finish. Qoricancha Expeditions is a top-notch company that really makes your trip easy and stress-free. All you have to do is show up and enjoy. We highly recommend Ronaldo and Wilson to anyone planning a trip to Machu Picchu. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

That same day, Wilson gave us a detailed briefing for our upcoming adventure. Our journey began with the Sacred Valley Tour, which was such a great introduction to the región, visiting an alpaca farm, exploring the Pisac ruins, and wandering through the colorful local market. After lunch, we visited Ollantaytambo, a charming town where we stayed overnight. The following morning, we started our Short Inca Trail hike from KM 104. It was a magical day filled with amazing views, wild orchids, and fascinating stories shared by our guide. The highlight was reaching the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu for the first time truly unforgettable! We spent the night at La Jaya Hotel in Aguas Calientes, which was beautiful and relaxing, the jacuzzi was a dream after the hike! The next morning’s guided visit to Machu Picchu was the perfect finale. Wilson’s passion for the Inca history made the whole experience come alive. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized transfers, hotels, meals, and tickets. Qoricancha Expeditions exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re visiting Peru, don’t hesitate, book with them!
Booking the Short Inca Trail 2 days with this team was one of the best choices of our Peru trip. Erika answered our inquiry within an hour. Her clear explanations about train schedules, permits, and hotel options made us confident we were in good hands. She also set up a WhatsApp group so we always had support during the trip. On the first day, Wilson the guide and driver David picked us up on time and took us to Ollantaytambo station for our train. At KM 104, we began the hike with Wilson, an exceptional guide who knew every corner of the trail. He made history come alive at Wiñay Wayna. When we reached the Sun Gate in the late afternoon, we were overwhelmed by the breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. That evening, our hotel in Aguas Calientes was ready for us, and everything was perfectly coordinated. The next morning, we entered Machu Picchu with Juan, who gave us a detailed walking tour. His knowledge of Inca culture was impressive and added depth to the experience. The entire service, from Erika’s careful planning to Wilson’s guidance and David's safe driving, was flawless. Qoricancha Expeditions truly knows how to make travelers feel special. If you’re considering the Short Inca Trail, don’t hesitate; this is the team to go with.

The truth is that we enjoyed the trip immensely and we believe the planning was perfect. We liked everything and were especially grateful for the meeting the day before in which our guide Alex explained the entire itinerary to us and answered our questions to help us prepare our backpacks. Of course, Alex was a fantastic guide. He provided us with a lot of interesting information throughout the journey, patiently answered all our questions, looked after us at all times, and, in addition, took some wonderful photographs of us. The transportation, the hotel, and the dinner were also perfect and far exceeded our expectations. And the food prepared by the cooks during the Inca Trail was exquisite, abundant, and very varied.
