We did the 3-day Essential Cusco & Machu Picchu package with Inkayni Peru Tours, and having Yeny as our guide elevated the entire experience. Her knowledge of Inca history, Cusco’s cultural heritage, and the spiritual meaning behind each site made every stop—from Qoricancha to the overlooks above the city—feel richer and more meaningful. What we appreciated most was her patience and thoughtfulness. She checked in often about our pace and comfort with the altitude, made sure we had time for photos and breaks, and handled all the logistics seamlessly. When we reached Machu Picchu, her explanations helped us see details and stories we never would have noticed on our own. By the end, it genuinely felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than a guide. If you’re booking this tour, ask for Yeny—she made our short trip smooth, joyful, and unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Upon arrival at the Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a member of the Inkayni Peru Tours team. We’ll escort you to your accommodation, a charming hotel located in Cusco 3,400 meters (11,000 feet). This day is set aside for rest and acclimatization. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon and get to know your surroundings. In the afternoon, meet your expedition group for a briefing about the incredible adventures ahead.
Day 2
2
Our adventure begins as we ascend to the high plains, stopping first at Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,343 ft), a sacred Inca site known as the birthplace of the rainbow. Here, we’ll visit its colonial church, built upon ancient Inca foundations, and explore its archaeological remains. We’ll then head to a local textile center, where Andean artisans will share the ancestral art of weaving, using minerals, plants, and seeds to create stunning natural dyes. Continuing through rolling hills, we’ll reach Moray (3,500 m / 11,482 ft), a fascinating complex of circular terraces once used as an agricultural laboratory by the Incas. Nearby, we’ll visit the Maras salt mines (3,380 m / 11,089 ft), a breathtaking landscape of thousands of salt pools that have been harvested by local families for centuries. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Ollantaytambo (2,792 m / 9,160 ft), where we’ll board our train to Aguas Calientes (2,040 m / 6,693 ft), the gateway to Machu Picchu.
Day 3
3
Today's trek takes us along the most impressive stretch of the Inca Trail, covering 10 km (6.2 mi). We begin in the Sacred Valley, following an original Inca pathway to the stunning archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna before continuing to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate or Inti Punku (2,720 masl / 8,924 ft.). As we hike, we pass through the lush cloud forest, home to a diverse array of plants, flowers, and birds. If we're lucky, we might even spot Viscachas (rabbit-like chinchillas) or the elusive Spectacled Bear. By late afternoon, we arrive at Inti Punku, where we get our first breathtaking views of Machu Picchu (2,430 masl / 7,972 ft.). The soft golden light at this hour creates ideal conditions for photography, with fewer tourists around. After soaking in the views, we follow a short side trail down to Aguas Calientes (2,040 masl / 6,693 ft.), where we’ll check into our hotel and rest before the next day's visit to Machu Picchu.
Day 4
4
The day begins early with breakfast before boarding one of the morning buses to Machu Picchu (2,430 meters or 7,972 feet). Upon entering the Inca citadel, your guide will lead you on an in-depth tour, sharing the captivating history of this iconic site and explaining its most remarkable features, such as temples, ceremonial areas, terraces, and storage structures. If you’ve secured an additional ticket in advance, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore either Huayna Picchu (2,720 meters or 8,924 feet) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 meters or 10,111 feet) for a breathtaking perspective of the surroundings. After the guided tour, the group will return to Aguas Calientes for a brief rest and lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you’ll board a train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private van will be waiting to take you to Cusco.
Day 5
5
Free morning to relax, your airport transfer will be scheduled according to your flight time, ensuring a smooth departure from Cusco. This marks the end of your incredible journey through the Andes.

What a great trip. Our tour guide, Persey, was the star of the show and made sure this tour ran smoothly and we didn’t miss a thing. We visited several archaeological sites, hiked the short Inca Trail, watched a magnificent sunrise over Machu Picchu, and learned about the ancient and local culture. Persey took care of everything and everyone and was genuinely excited to share his knowledge and expertise.
Had a fantastic tour of Peru, the food, culture, people and the mesmerising scenery of this place will remain in our memory of a lifetime. James our guide was fantastic! His knowledge of the area and his affable manner made it an even more enjoyable trip. We will be recommending James and this tour to our friends and family.
Excellent attention and explanation of part of the guide in each of the activities the schedules were adequate in each of the activities with Justin and driver Joel
Widely recommended and reliable our guide Ernesto Cusi (everything explained and shared, worried and busy that we were comfortable, cared for and enjoying) from Inkayni Tour made our vacation an unforgettable experience. Always attentive and watchful that we had great experience
Excellent experience when taking several tours with guides Justin, Johan and driver Roni, people of great heart and moral quality. Pending at all times of the members of the group and with the highest security measures. My respect and thanks to them. If in the future I had the opportunity to come back, I would definitely request to be integrated into your group to continue to know more beautiful places in your country. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This tour was one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Especially for the company of the group and for the care and guidance of Julius Caesar, who has given us all help and knowledge. I found him super passionate about his roots and culture, he shared it with us with a lot of fervor and knowledge. I am very happy to have shared this adventure with him and highly recommend him as a guide.
It has been a great experience accompanied by lisseth yupanqui a great service, with spectacular views and good talk
Excellent experience! Our guide Lisseth Yupanqui was very good and always attentive to us being well and feeling comfortable, always took us to the best places to take amazing photos and take an unforgettable memory.
It was amazing the experience and the guides were incredibly attentive to all the scheduled tours and very punctual in everything, thank you to everyone involved, Liset Yupanqui, Johan and Roni, are amazing
Our visit to Cuzco, Chinchero, Moray and Maras and Machu Pichu was an amazing experience thanks to the guide Julius Caesar “JC” for friends. He explained about the Inca culture and in every place we went he had the patience and cordiality necessary to explain everything to us in detail. We recommend 100% the tour with you as you will have one of the best experiences on your trip.

Incredible tour and views, the guide's attention, the rooms, everything was wonderful 💯% recommended...
In 4 days visit the most iconic and representative of Peru, Machupichu , Maras Moray, Chinchero, Vinikunka mountain (7 colors) and the Humantay lagoon, the itinerary was fulfilled in time and form however this visit would not have been the same without the expert guide Guido who made our trips more interesting thanks to his spirituality and good humor.
Beautiful places!! Unforgettable experience, the whole team welcomed us and treated us wonderfully in all walks, super punctual, always busy with details, very warm, it was like being with family! Thank you local Adventure, and special thanks to our group guide, dear Franklin!! Sexy baby alpacas wuuuuu! 🦙
Very good, excellent experience! Thank you very much to Lisseth Yupanqui! He took us to Machupichu, the salt mill. He made an amazing experience with my wife on our honeymoon.
We are fascinated with this trip, the scenery was incredible, the attention of our guide Justin was unmatched and the schedules and activities were fulfilled to the letter. And the hotels met perfect expectations. I loved everything and definitely highly recommend it <3 The only thing that would change would be some restaurant options and lunches as they left a bit to be desired. Outside of that, HIGHLY recommended.
My favorite part was when we toured the places and Justin (our guide) told us the story of each place visited. The recommendations and the divine photos!
Thank you very much, a pleasant experience from you, from the whole team, from who picked me up at the airport, our Franklin Guide, Percy, all the hotel staff, always friendly and making me feel at home. Thank you for that hospitality, I thank you all and look forward to one day coming back. Greetings from Mexico:)
The whole experience was very satisfying, the guides are attentive and pleasant, explained the history of the place, accompanied us at every step of the tour and answered our doubts.
It was amazing. The agency worked very well, we understood each other perfectly and everything went well. But what has made our experience UNIQUE has been the presence of our guide Freddy and our driver Wilson. They are great professionals, they know this country like the back of their hand, they have adapted to our interests and times, they have been kind ,smiling and close. Punctuality is another of its great merits. Freddy with his in-depth knowledge of the land he teaches makes the tour enjoyable, fun and explains to you to infinity all the questions or questions you want to know. A teacher. He has a gift of people. Wilson a top driver who makes us feel safe. We punctured a wheel on a journey and not only reacted well, it was not disturbed, I just solved it by calling a collective bus and a coquito and arrived on time to our train destination Machupichu. Awesome. We can only recommend these people from this Enterprise and this Enterprise.
Excellent, highly recommended tour The Percy-Guido team from to 100% Guido our guide awards the PLUS that makes extraordinary on each tour, Percy safety behind the wheel with a good sense of humor. If I would repeat the experience again
