Visiting Machu Picchu is by far the most challenging tour to get in my experience as a traveller. But with the help of Minkas Travel, and most especially by owner Irwin, this bucket list can become reality. Myself and my friends are lucky to have been connected with Minkas Travel because our dream to visit Machu Picchu became a reality. Irwin ensured that he will do everything he can to accommodate all our needs, and he made sure that we have been taken cared of from Day 1. It was wonderful experience and so much grateful to Irwin and Minkas travel for taking good care of us. Julio, our rour guide in Machu Picchu, is also a very knowledgeable guide, and made us feel welcome, and made us enjoy the experience. We went for the 0600 Machu Picchu visit and it was perfect timing for sunrise visit with less crowds, and great weather as well. The Sacred Valley Tour was also something you should not miss when visiting Cusco. Overall, our group highly recommends this tour with Minkas Travel. Thank you so much Irwin and his colleagues for this great experience.
We had an amazing experience with Minkas Travel from start to finish. Communication was excellent—every detail was clearly explained, and we felt well taken care of throughout the entire journey. Our guide for Machu Picchu, Julio, was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. We really enjoyed our walk with him and the fascinating history he shared along the way. The train ride with Inca Rail was also optimal—comfortable, scenic, and perfectly timed. Highly recommend Minkas Travel for anyone visiting Machu Picchu—they made everything smooth, memorable, and stress-free!
We loved this trip! As we didn’t have our tickets to Machu Picchu, we had to organise everything last minute. We went with Minka Travels and it was definitely worth it. It was very well organised and took care of everything, including accommodation and a guide. Thank you so much!
We booked this tour at the last minute, concerned because all the one day tours were booked out and we didn't want to miss such an amazing adventure. Minka's Travel were fantastic, communicating with us and reassuring us that we wouldn't miss out. Our accommodation in Aguas Calientes was really comfortable and quiet, and had an amazing view of the river. We had plenty of time to walk around the quaint little village with lots to see, do and eat. On the second day, the tour guide took us through the ruins of Machu Picchu, providing an interesting commentary in both English and Spanish. He also helped by taking some amazing group photos of us. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to visit Machu Picchu.
My husband and I highly recommend Minka’s if you are planning to visit Machu Picchu. We booked our Peru trip last minute, and advanced tickets for Machu Picchu were sold out. Minka’s has a tour for people like us who want to score last-minute tickets. Had we tried to get to Aguas Calientes by ourselves (not an easy fete for foreigners—it involved a car ride, bus, and train), we would have not gotten tickets. We unknowingly booked our trip during the Peruvian independence holiday weekend, and the last-minute ticket line was insane. Esmeralda held our hand through the whole complicated process of scoring last-minute tickets, and we were able to get the best circuit! Once at Machu Picchu, our guide was amazing. He was highly knowledgeable, took all of our photos at the most picturesque spots and was able to answer all of our questions about the site (there are no placards that explain the space). After a train and bus ride, we arrived back in Cusco after a long tiring journey, and our driver was waiting for us to drop us at our hotel door. This tour was worth every penny, and each person who helped us on different legs of the journey was friendly and professional.
Well organized. Was able to accommodate last minute changes. Very punctual. Thrilled and very satisfied with the experience.
MINKA'S Travel have been amazing, couldn't fault them! We contacted Irwin with a last minute request to go to Machu Picchu, even though we hadn't booked our tickets in advance and they we're technically sold out. These guys are the only tour agents in Cusco that will get you day tickets without booking in advance! They will sort the train, buses, accomadation etc. We met Dario at their office who was an absolute gentleman, he explained the whole process to us which is very simple. Dario met us at our hotel at 3am on the day of our trip to AC (Machu Picchu town) gave us all the tickets for trains and buses, he had even booked us a private taxi from Cusco to the train station which was well over 1 hour, it all felt very professional. We we're met in AC by a young lady who explained where we needed to be to get our tickets for the next day, she then checked us into our hotel which surprised us both and was really nice! (Suzanna Inn) We had a bedroom facing the river which was great! Free time in AC to chill etc. Next dsay breakfast was really good, and we left our bags at the hotel. We went to MP and we met Julio our guide at 10am by the main gates (I met him the evening before at our hotel for a briefing of the MP day). Spent 3 hours at MP with him, he's very funny and has all the info you need about MP, he's very knowledgable! Train back to AC that evening, then met by Dario who dropped us back to our hotel. 10/10 guys!! We would use Minka's Travel again! :-)
Tour guide Julio was great! We did the last minute two day tour for people without tickets. Worked out great, got circuit 2.
Travel with this company was a disappointing experience. My daughter and I only had four days in Cusco, and wanted to visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. We were assured that our reservations were confirmed, including by our guide Jose. When we arrived in Aguas Calientes it took us 30 minutes to find our hotel, and when we did they didn't have our reservation. We had to call Minkas to be able to sleep there, which took another 30-40 minutes to clear up. On the day of Machu Picchu we were told to meet our guide at the bus station, but we couldn't find him. We called Minkas again, and they told us to get on the bus anyway. At the last minute Jose appeared. The experience was filled with stress and confusion, which was what we were trying to avoid by using a travel agency.
It was so nice trip! Staffs are all kind and friendly. They helped me all the way to Machu Picchu, and way back. Highly recommended!
My stay with Minkas was one of the the best travel experiences I have ever had! They helped every step of the away – from figuring out which tour was the best for my friend and I, to helping book the accommodation at Mama's House and the tour, to the actual trip itself. The whole process was incredibly seamless and no detail was missed. Irwin and Dario were both so communicative and helpful which made the entire experience much more enjoyable and stress free. They make you feel part of the family and go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and taken care of. The accommodation at Mama's House was also so homey feeling and the fresh juice and breakfast prepared every morning was delicious. The accommodation is also just a short walk to the town center so was very convenient for seeing the sites. We also booked the 2 day 1 night Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour through the Minkas site. Our tour guides, Juvenal and Bryan, were both excellent and so knowledgable and friendly. They knew all about the history of the sites we visited and the best spots to take photos. I highly recommend booking the 2 day 1 night tour – we were able to arrive at Machu Picchu just before sunrise so the views were absolutely beautiful and it was not crowded with people yet. We also were able to see more areas that are typically closed later in the day. The whole tour was magical. When I come back to Peru I am booking exclusively through Minkas Travel. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!!
Irwin gave 200% to get us some tickets in aguas calientes! He was also very responsive and answered questions about the trip so not to have any surprises. Thanks a lot !
We booked the last minute trip to Peru and we literally only had 48 hours before we flew to Lima and we weren't sure we were going to be able to get to Machu Picchu but thanks to minka's and Irwin our guide everything worked out perfectly. I couldn't be happier. It was a smooth experience and we felt supported and guided throughout the entire time. Irwin and the team at Minka also was able to help my friend who had her trip canceled to Machu Picchu get tickets as well so once again miracles were made and we have Minkas to thank for that.
I am recommending this tour. It is was very good. Bryan is very good guide. We went through circle 2 and at first it was cloudy but after sometime clouds were gone and we was able to see all beauty of Machu Picchu.
Best tour I’ve ever booked! Everything ran so smoothly. From being picked up at my hotel in Cusco, brought to the bus then train and then being picked up at the train station in Aguas Calientes and then escorted to my hotel- I didn’t have to think or worry what I had to do next because it was all sorted for me! And then my tour guide for Macchu Picchu Brian gave me a private tour and took so many lovely photos as well as telling all about its history. I particularly appreciated the fantastic service because I don’t speak Spanish and the trip would have been a lot more difficult if I didn’t have any help.
FANTASTIC! My wife, son and I did the 2-day Chincheros-Maras-Moray and Machu Pichu tour. Everything was carefully planned by Irwin and his MINKA team. Julio and Dario on our first day went above and beyond. When my 6-year-old got sick they were more than patient and did everything they could to make the experience as smooth as possible. Dario even spent his own money to buy medicine for my kid! And on the second day, Irwin not only guided us through Machu Pichu but also gave us that genuine personal care that no money can buy. For most people I met, it was their first time in Cusco; to me it was the second! But if you go to Cusco for the 1st time, besides calling Irwin, I recommend you this: First GET YOUR WALKING SHOES READY. 2nd get your walking shoes ready again! and not less importantly plan for the altitude. When I return to see the things I missed, I will plan for a full day in Cusco first taking it easy and with only casual walking. Ohhh almost forgot, make sure to drink some mate de coca or muna too.
Lovely experience with Irwin and Bryan, we had a lovely time with tour guide Bryan. He explained everything with patiece and briefed us the history of Machu Pichu. Glad we found the tour with Irwin. I recommend to all the people who are visiting Machu Picchu
A unique experience, always attentive from the moment we arrive at the hotel until the time of the tours. A unique experience, always attentive from the moment we arrived at the hotel until the time of the tour.
Excellent service from start to finish. Excellent treatment and care of all the details of the trip including coordination with our guides. Irwin and Dario were always available to answer our questions.
An incredible experience that I would repeat again with Minkas tour, good attention and concern during our stay in Cusco by Irwin and his family, and getting to know Machupichu with Bryan was excellent in addition to learning and valuing our culture more. 😊😊
I took the 2 day 1 night tour in Machu Picchu and had a great experience. My girlfriend and I are Brazilians and we were very well attended to by Mr. Irwin (agency owner) throughout the purchase period and package information. Already in Machu Picchu, we had Mr. Bryan, who was a spectacular, didactic guide, in addition to speaking three languages. We recommend it to friends and will be back soon.
It was a nice experience. My entire family including me enjoyed the trip. The culture of the Incas is incredible after getting to know it more closely. We feel safe and accompanied at all times with our guides.
Excellent Team, Mr. Irwin always on the lookout for us, I went with my parents and the 3 of us felt very well taken care of, these days were just to enjoy the wonders of cusco, we felt very grateful and would visit again with this same Enterprise, I recommend. Thank you very much.
The tour was completely worth it and for a lot. Jonhatan's attention and organization of every detail my respects. Jimmy and Irving who were the super expert guides and very attentive. Unsurpassed hotel food mobility services!!! We highly recommend it and will soon be back. Thanks for everything!!!!
Excellent attentions, Irwin kept an eye on everything during our days in Cusco, always available for recommendations and answer my questions
We made the best choice with Minka's Enterprise for our week-long family stay in Cusco; the Hosting Service was pleasant thanks to the attention of Dario who was very attentive with all our needs, also mention the good Mobility Service and above all highlight the good attention and guide of Irvin who was in charge of explaining us in detail each place without missing absolutely anything. Thanks to him we took the best memories of Cusco. We highly recommend it.
