Itinerary
A strategic stop to take in one of the most breathtaking views in the Sacred Valley. From the lookout, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains, cultivated fields, and Andean communities spread across the valley.
The day's first major stop is Pisac, where you'll explore its important archaeological site, located at roughly 3,300 meters (10,825 ft) above sea level. The site combines Inca architecture, agricultural terraces, and sweeping views of the Sacred Valley. Pisac's altitude is similar to that of Cusco, and the visit is unhurried, giving you time to walk around and take in the site at your own pace.
Get an up-close look at the craftsmanship developed in the region and discover how traditional goldsmithing techniques are still used today to create gold and silver pieces. During the visit, you'll learn more about the methods used by local artisans and the Inca influence visible in the designs and details of their work.
After a morning devoted to Andean history and culture, it's time for a break to enjoy Peruvian cuisine. At Restaurante Don Angel, you'll be able to sample a variety of dishes representing Peru's three major regions, Coast, Highlands, and Jungle in a buffet lunch. Urubamba sits at roughly 2,870 meters (9,415 ft) above sea level, lower than both Cusco and Pisac, providing a pleasant opportunity to rest and enjoy the meal before continuing through the Sacred Valley.
Ollantaytambo is one of the most impressive examples of Inca urban planning. Its cobblestone streets, water channels, and well-preserved structures let you see up close the organization and engineering skill developed by the Incas. During the visit, you'll tour the Ollantaytambo archaeological site and have time to explore its structures and admire the surrounding landscape. The town sits at roughly 2,790 meters (9,155 ft) above sea level, lower than Cusco, making this leg of the tour more comfortable for many travelers.
We'll wrap up the experience at Ollantaytambo's main square, where you can continue your journey if you've booked a train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. You can continue on to Aguas Calientes by train, departing from the Ollantaytambo Train Station. If you'd prefer to return to Cusco, the departure time from Ollantaytambo is 17:45 h, with an estimated arrival in Cusco around 19:00 h.

Frank was our guide and Russel was our driver. Everything was fantastic. They both deserve big raises!
Our guide, Franco, was great! Super informative! Our driver, Russel, was great also and got us to every place safely and efficiently. Would highly recommend booking this tour!
Very well organized, Jimmy Sánchez Rojas was our guide with a lot of knowledge. Very much recommended
The pick up and meeting the group in the morning was frustrating, I confirmed a few time they always say will pick up from our hotel, until the night before like 11:20pm they messaged saying I need to walk to Plaza Recocijo, it wasn’t far from hotel but they could have advised us earlier so we can prepare for it also know what time and where to go. Our guide was nice and informative happy to answer questions also very helpful. The silver museum pretty much just a stop to get you spend money probably for their commission.
Raul carries a big backpack full of documents and is ready to let you in the world of the Incas. He is by far one of the most knowledgeable guides I have ever had. I learned so much information from him and he was ready with any questions I had. The picking up was a nice gentleman who walked us to the bus stop and the dropping off was not at our hotel. The bus was not allowed in the city and the traffic was so horrid anyway that it was faster to walk. It didn’t take from the tour experience but just be aware. Additionally, the drinks are not included in the lunch buffet. Speaking off, the staff there was friendly. The food and drinks were good, and there was a llama and alpaca outside. So that was cool…
The experience was great and the scenery was phenomenal. Most importantly, our experience towards it was possible thanks to our guide Jerver. He was a great guide who was informative, watched out for the group, and navigated us through our events at a good pace.
I had an amazing experience touring the Sacred Valley in Peru! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Our tour guide, Jerver, was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and made the tour both fun and informative. He shared so much interesting history and information about the area and made sure we had a great experience throughout the day. I truly enjoyed every part of the tour and would highly recommend Jerver to anyone visiting the Sacred Valley. He was an excellent guide and really helped make our trip special!
Jere Ed is an excellent tour guide. with a full history and knowledgeable.
Great experience and lovely guide Jhanet! Great way to explore some of the Sacred Valley but never felt too rushed or forcing too many sites. Great lunch too!
Jerver is a great guide! Always available and kind, good English
Jerver is a great and kind guide!
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. There were issues with transportation and unsafe driving, but our main concern was the two obvious tourist-trap stops in Pisac and Chinchero. At both locations, the guide took us directly to a single shop and gave us essentially no opportunity to explore other shops or the local markets. In Chinchero, we were told that the products we bought were made from genuine alpaca wool. We later discovered that they were not actually alpaca, and found essentially the same products at the local market for almost one third of what we had paid. This felt less like a cultural experience and more like a sales operation designed to funnel tourists into specific shops. We have no problem being introduced to local products, but forcing tourists into selected shops and selling supposedly “alpaca” products at highly inflated prices is unacceptable. We believe Viator should be aware of this when evaluating the tour operator.
Very good experienceee I recommend to all
Jerver was a great tour guide. We had an amazing time on this tour. He explained all the history with very great detail, was patient when we probably took longer than needed!!! I would very highly recommend this to everyone, also for family with kids he was great!
Jerver was amazing and our trio was great. He provided good information
We had a great experience with our guide Franco and the driver Julio. Definitely worth it.
Ronnie was an excellent tour guide. He was very easy to understand, he knew a lot about the area, and he was great fun! We really enjoyed the trip overall
Amazing tour with Alberto! Very Nice and lovely historic explanations
Did a one day tour of Sacred Valley with our guide Jerver. Pick up was precisely on time, bus was clean and well maintained and our guide was fabulous. He catered perfectly for our group of Portugués and English speakers, and had a wealth of knowledge of the sites we visited. The sites were truely amazing. Well worth the day.
Jerver was so great!! English was wonderful and he was extremely informative! Thank you for the best experience, Jerver!
Jerver was amazing! He has so much knowledge. He knew just where to take us & he has such passion for his work. Highly recommend!
very good and professional guide Franco. He speaks great english and can teach us about the culture really well. The food was amazing. Really appreciate that.
very good and passionate folks Jodi and Franco
Excellent tour. Jerver was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and got to see some amazing sites.
Jerver is fantastic and knowledgeable
Jerver was an amazing guide very insightful. Went out of his way to make the experience amazing
Percy leaves in very and interesting places. Very disappointed
The pick up was comfortable but drop-off was not. We realize there was traffic on the return at ollantaytambo, but I wish we were informed in advance that we would have to walk our way to the hotel (in Ollantaytambo, as we picked that option). Other guests returning to Cusco were fine, I think! It wasn’t more than a 10-15 min walk but this is about customer experience. Our guide should have warned us about it in advance. Lunch was great and visits / breaks between different places were well coordinated. Our guide was fine overall but we did not feel it was an extraordinary tour. We overheard other guides share a lot more history and detail which we didn’t experience from our guide. We’ve definitely had better!
A great time! Educational and driving was very very good 👍 Many drivers drive poorly here, but not our guide Franco and Freddy. He buffet was great- offered lamb, guinea pig and alpaca.Would recommend!
Lots of cool stops across the Sacrade Valley. Pisaq was a highlight. Franco and Hernan were great.
First the pick and itinerary were done very well and simple. They communicate well with the guest. Fran was an amazing tour guide ver knowledgeable. Erhnan possibly one of the best drivers in Peru
frankie and hernan were great guides, thanks for an informative tour

Russel was a great drive and Franco was super informative. Would recommend for others too have a fun and easy trip so you don’t have to worry about anything!
The trip started at 7:45 with a pickup from our hotel. Went to Pisco to see the Incan site, then went into the town of Pisco to shop. Continued on to Urubomba for a teriffic lunch. Not the standard roadside food, but real kicking great culinary experience. Then went Ollantaytambo to drop off a few of our group at train station and continued to the ruins near train station. Loaded up for return to Cusco, but wait…..one more stop at a really cool textile factory. Got back to hotel around 7:15p. It was a great day. Thank you Clara and our fantastic bus driver.
An absolutely incredible tour with our guide Jerver taking us through ancient civilizations and farming grounds. The sights of the Peruvian mountainsides and wildlife within. Pur tour guide Jerver was extremely kind and vigilant taking us thru the sights and giving us the proper context and history of the site.
Good trip, not far to travel. All 4 sites were very similar so could be done quicker. Enjoyed the views
Great guide and nice tour The transportation was prompt, comfortable and clean
The guide Alberto was great! Very nice and gentle.
A great experience with Jerver our tour guide. Very informative and we saw amazing views of the Sacred Valley. Would recommend!
Franklin and Russel made this experience truly unforgettable. Franklin is an exceptional guide, the kind you hope for but rarely get. His knowledge goes far beyond the usual explanations; he brings Peruvian history, culture, food, and folklore to life with genuine passion. You can feel how deeply connected he is to his heritage in the way he speaks, and it makes every place you visit far more meaningful. At one point, he even sang for us to express his emotions and connection to the culture, which was incredibly special and something I’ll never forget. Russel, our driver, was equally wonderful in his own way. Even though he didn’t speak English, his friendliness, warmth, and engagement with us said everything. He made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the journey, and his attitude really reflected the kindness and hospitality of Peruvian people. Together, they created an experience that felt authentic, smooth, and genuinely memorable. Highly recommended.
Jerver was very nice and accommodating, he was kind and explained everything to detail. He also was nice enough to get us when we had a scheduling issue. Would definitely recommend him and this tour company a try.
It was a great trip. Our guide was very attentive. Pisaq was amazing. Lunch was an amazing buffet with all types of food for carnivores to vegetarians!
It was a really great experience! I learned a lot and the tour guide was very helpful and accommodating.
Great experience and location
