Rainbow Mountain 1 Day Tour

We booked a private tour to Machu Piccu and Rainbow Mountain with Machu Piccu Peru Travel. We arrived two days before our trip to Rainbow Mountain to Cusco. Tania made a super effort in coming to our hotel to meet with us and explain how the days would go. She was very accommodating when we asked to borrow a walking stick for my father-in-law and always so pleasant and accommodating from my very first outreach. We were privileged to have Willie as our tour guide both days. Willie is the best as what he does. He made sure we got to see the special places and breath taking views. We felt like we have been friends with Willie for years. Celestino was also our driver both days. He’s also did a super job in driving us safely to our locations and making sure we were always okay. If you can afford to spend a few extra bucks, I highly recommend taking the private tour, getting the horse (if you’re not an avid hiker), and hopefully you get Willie. P.S. The faster you get up, the less crowded it is and the more you get to absorb the moment and the view. If you decide to get the horse, please don’t forget your tour guide, otherwise who would help you get the best photos and special views.

From beginning to end this was a great tour. Tania was very helpful in coordinating everything. She was very responsive via WhatsApp especially. Willy, our tour guide was phenomenal. We are just so lucky to have had him. He was kind, approachable, calming and looked out for us. Made us both feel very safe and secure on the hike. And when we got there to the top- wow! I am glad that this agency was recommended and I am not at all sorry to have booked a private tour to the rainbow mountain. We were one of the first on site and were able to take our pictures without stress and enjoy the view. In addition, the breakfast and lunch were surprisingly delicious, which is usually not the case with such tours. In addition, Tanja takes care of you as if you had known each other for a long time. She tries to help with everything, even if it is not about the booked tour. Our guide Willy was also very warm and accommodating. I can only recommend this agency.

Had to leave Cusco at 4:00 am. Not easy, but definitely worth it if you want to enjoy the place before it gets too crowded with people. Spectacular scenery along the way, especially the last several kilometers of drive. That final 2 hours walk, that gets you to the top, was actually harder to us than it seemed. Never before we had experience at 5000 meters altitude. But once up there it is very rewarding. The view is magnificent. We would like to thank our guide Manuel, who was with us all the time along the way from Cusco and back. Interesting to hear about the life and the culture of the local people. We have paid for a private tour the same price (or even less) the others pay for a group one. We couldn’t be more happy! We left very very early so we beaded the crowd and had some amazing pictures! We had delicious breakfast and lunch! Our guide Willy was super helpful and understanding and also took some very nice pictures. We did also Machu Picchu private tour with the same guide. Everything was so well organized we couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend it!

I would recommend Machu Picchu Peru Travel agency for the travelling needs one have at the region of Cusco and Machu Picchu surroundings. Good things about this agency is: 1) Good hospitality- Tania will meet and brief the traveler prior to the trip to ensure all documents and preparation is in place 2) speed in response both in query and handling issue I face. In an incident where I called Tania at 5.50am, she responded and solved the issue within 20 mins. 3) Tania provides various private tours all in competitive pricing and yet satisfy all the travel needs 4) thoughtful on behalf of traveler- Tania even thinks of providing walking sticks to Rainbow Mountain which has not been asked for by us 5) car used in ferrying travelers is new, clean and well maintained If there is any improvement warrant, punctuality of the guide could be improved. The guide Jaime was very attentive during the whole walk, climbing 5000 m with 2 children requires not only experience, but patience and attention. He was fantastic. The best guide we could have. It's not easy to get to the Seven Colors Mountain - the curved and narrow road, altitude - but it was worth every second. One of the most spectacular tours of our lives! Spectacular. The private tour I recommend instead of the group tour because it is a very strong climb and if you feel bad, your private guide is better. Jaime attended me at all times and was with me step by step along the way. Excellent!
