We booked this as a group of 6. Guides were punctual and communicated the plan of the day. Guides were very attentive and informative. Team Youri 👏

Rainbow Mountain is a tough hike because of the altitude but Robinson was an amazing guide and kept us motivated throughout! He was very communicative on the front end and ensured that we had an amazing experience.
My sister, daughter, nephew and I had an incredible experience on our private Rainbow Mountain tour, thanks to our amazing guide Flor and driver Edy. From start to finish, everything was well organized and smooth. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the area. She shared fascinating insights about the history, culture, and landscape of Rainbow Mountain, which made the hike even more meaningful. She was also very attentive to my family , making sure everyone was comfortable and safe—especially at the high altitude. Our driver Edy was equally fantastic. The roads to the mountain can be challenging, but we always felt safe and in good hands. The drive was smooth, punctual, and stress-free. What really stood out was the level of care and professionalism from both of them. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great experience. I would highly recommend Rainbow Mountain Travels to anyone planning a visit to Rainbow Mountain—it truly made the trip unforgettable!
This was the most amazing experience. David was an experienced, knowledgeable and highly supportive guide. This is quite challenging given the altitude but with David’s expertise we managed, and thoroughly enjoyed, the day. Rainbow Mountain is really great but the Red Valley blew us away. The Agency were very responsive, communicative and helpful. Would highly recommend this tour.
Edgar, dionel and honorato made this experience amazing. They picked us up on time, made sure to give us cultural references and ensure we were all safe !! Highly recommend
This was a very exciting and well planed out trip! I would highly recommend using their service for rainbow mountain. Thank you so much
Went on a tour to the rainbow mountain and red valley with Darwin the guide and it was great. We went early to see the sites, we saw Andean eagles flying, which was great, and the weather was also really good
I went with a group of 5 friends both our guides patiently waited for us and encouraged us to make it up the mountain! Both Carlos and Marco were very knowledgeable and shared great information about landscape and local life! I would highly recommend!
Amazing experience I would recommend to anyone coming to Peru or South America in general. Luis was amazing host and very helpful during the trek.
Excelent trip, excelent experience. I definitely recommend it. Guide was amazing, bus was comfy, breakfast and lunch were delicious.
The tour was organized and the team that took care of us made sure we are safe during the trip. My friends and I had a lot of fun! Would highly recommend!
Everything was very good . Our guide was excellent and spoke very good English , he was also very helpful when we needed help .
Lionel and Angel are the most amazing guides, they took very good care of us and were very patient with all the pictures. Highly highly recommend!
Angel was a brilliant tour guide! Never rushed us and it's so important to take your time at this mountain - if you go slowly then you shouldn't feel more than a bit dizzy. The mountain and red valley are beautiful and really worth the early start :)
David is an incredible professional! So atencious and gentle, always looking up for the group and the best humor since the first minute the tour started!
I really enjoyed the tour! I would recommend David as the tour guide, he did a very good job in explaining and giving support during the trekking.
Super views, after the rainbow mountains, the Red Valley was worth it! We had breakfast and lunch and it was verry got, a lot of choices. Our guide, Edgar, was amazing!
Darwin our guide made it seamless and enjoyable. Was worried about elevation, he suggested horses and that worked well l, as we are mid 70s
We had an unforgettable trip to Rainbow Mountain, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing tour guide Vicki! From start to finish, the experience was smooth, informative, and incredibly well-organized. She kept the group motivated during the challenging hike, checked in on everyone constantly, and paced the trek perfectly so nobody felt left behind. She even took great photos for us at the summit, helping us capture memories we’ll never forget. The early morning pickup was on time, the transportation was comfortable, and the breakfast and lunch provided were delicious! I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Cusco—it’s a tough hike due to the altitude, but with a guide like ours, it becomes a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Truly a highlight of our Peru trip!
All was organized well. All tips we gote before were very helpfull. Communication with guide was excelent. Roxana was very dedecated to assist us and to motivate us to clime to the top. Amaisin expirience on the mountin. We will definitely and strongly recomend Reinbow mountin travels. Thank you guys
We went on a full day tour to Rainbow Mountains with David. It was a brilliant day and the scenery was amazing. David was an excellent tour guide- he guided us well through the hike and was calm and collected throughout when managing altitude sickness of some members. Gave us excellent information and provided lots of brilliant photo opportunities. Overall was a lovely day!
Wonderful experience in this visit. Our guide David was fabulous all along. He helped when one of us had mild altitude sickness with bringing her down and supporting her with the help of his colleagues. Overall great experience would recommend. We would always recommend you bringing warm jumpers, gloves, full socks particularly during the winter season as the temperatures may drop to around freezing with a strong wind blowing towards the top points.
This was a great experience! Challenging at times, but very rewarding. Roxana and Dionel were great tour guides as they helped keep with our pace and with pictures as well:)
Great guides, super patient and knowledgeable- Darwin and Justin! So so so beautiful! Add on Red valley - it’s worth it!
Carlos and Flore were incredible. Genuine people that know the mountain and are on time with everything organized. Seamless trip
This trip was amazing. The views were breathtaking and our kids were so kind, caring, and informative. Flor and Carlos were the best!
Amazing trip with Sexy Ovejas group led by (Cristian)! Highly recommended for anyone interested for 1 day tour! Choose Rainbow Mountain Travel!
We had a really great experience with tour guide David. Very knowledgeable and lots of energy. We had a really good time.
The trip was super well organised. Christian our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us heaps of time to explore the mountain and the red valley. The food on the way there and back was great. Reminder the entry fee is not included (30 soles for the mountain and 30 for the valley)
We did the Rainbow Mountain tour with Rainbow Mountain Travel on 6th of July and everything went perfectly. We were picked up right on time, no delays, and the transportation was comfortable. The whole tour was really well organized and smooth from start to finish. Our guide Angel was amazing! Super attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He shared lots of interesting facts along the way, and when I started feeling unwell due to the altitude, he immediately offered oxygen and helped me recover. I honestly don’t know how I would’ve made it without his support. Thanks to the early start, we were among the first to reach the top - only a few local vendors, some alpacas and llamas were there. No crowds, just peace and breathtaking views. It made the experience truly special. Food was also great - we had a tasty breakfast and a buffet lunch. Simple but fresh and filling, with a decent variety. Overall, it was an excellent tour, very well organized and stress-free. I highly recommend Rainbow Mountain Travel, and especially our guide Angel - he really made the difference!
I joined the tour in July 2025. The tour is very organized and no hidden cost. My tour guide Vicky is very professional and detailed oriented.
Amazing tour! Flor and Yuri were knowlegdable and patient guides. When we experienced altitude sickness they were very helpful and made sure everyone got to the top safely. The hike is 8km in total or more if you decide to go to the highest point of the mountain and see the red valley. Overall a very fufilling tour!
Brilliant. Stunning mountains. Altitude was a kicker for some. Guides María and Vicky were just wonderful. Maria was so enthusiastic and welcoming and Vicky had a great sense of humor.
Augustine was an amazing guide! He was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Helpful during the high altitudes. Also took great pictures
Great company, well organised. Very friendly staff. Love that we were there before the crowds. Only thing to add would be a bit more time at rainbow mountain and red valley, it was a little rushed because we like to take photos. Augustine and David were great!
First, some advice for people travelling to Cusco. The altitude is real. I flew in from Lima and suffered terrible altitude sickness. I'd advise that you gradually stop off at other places before you reach Costco. That being said, those of us who had struggled with the altitude were well looked after. The trail can be done part of the way by horse (approx 80 sols). Is it all worth it? YES! The views up to and including Rainbow Mountain are spectacular. It's well worth it
Darwin is a straight up g. He took us early to beat the crowds. He was super knowledgeable. Rainbow mountain is very special
Roxana was a great tour guide, very attentive. The whole Rainbow Mountain crew were very helpful. Highly Recommended.
Angel was an awesome guide, gave descriptions and history lessons along the way. If your looking to tour rainbow mountain, please have him as your tour guide!!
It was a very unique experience. The kind you only do once in a lifetime. We went with yaki and Flor. They did a great job explaining what to expect and were prepared when we all got slight headaches and nausea. It was a great price that included the travel, the hike, along with breakfast and lunch We also did the optional hike to red valley and that was my favorite part of the day I highly recommend this group for your hike
The scenery of both the Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley is truly spectacular. Our guide was Davíd, he was very, very helpful to get us up to the top. However, on the way down he left us alone, clearly because we had taken a little longer than the average due to our respective ages (70 and 58), despite giving us a lot of compliments for our achievement, given the altitude, which was a novelty given that we live close to sea level. On the way back both the driver and the guide ignored our repeated requests to keep the windows closed and use air conditioning instead given the level of dust and fumes. The driver drove much faster on the way back. The road was bumpy anyway, but he appeared to be entirely oblivious to our presence in the back. You need motion sickness tablets/patches for this trip. Although this was promoted as a 12-hour tour, and we were back within 11,5 hours, they appeared to be over eager to get back ASAP. They were chatting very loudly while having the radio on at a high volume. Given their lack of interest in listening to our requests about the open windows, we gave up trying to engage with them.
Rainbow Mountain Travels gave me and my husband a memorable one in a lifetime experience. My husband had visited Rainbow with a group prior to our trip and he had an amazing experience that far exceeded his last. Our guide and driver were beyond accommodating the entire time. Our guide Yaki was super knowledgeable and hiking with her was like hiking with a good friend. Our driver Jose was amazing, he made every type of terrain we encountered seem like nothing, and we felt like we were in excellent hands the whole time. I can't say enough amazing things about our guide and driver.
It was a very well organized tour and Christian was the best tour guide ever. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We took amazing photos.
Date: March 22/25. Private group tour. Our group of 8 were picked up directly from our hotel in Cusco at 3:15am, by Yaki (Jacki), our guide and our driver. Yaki had texted me the day before with a reminder of what to pack. The van was clean and well-maintained. We drove for about 1 1/2 hour and stopped for a buffet breakfast. Next, was another hour drive before we got to the base of the mountain. It was cold to start, about 3 degrees Celcius, so we wore toques and mitts and warm jackets. It was a steep 5 minute walk to where the horses were located. As we were quite short of breath already, and wanted to save our energy for the steeper climb at the end, we decided to rent horses to go up part of the mountain. The horses were about 80 sols, paid in cash to the local guides (men and women in local garb) who led each horse. The trek took about an hour. The sunrise was beautiful on the way up. The horses dropped you off about 1/2 hour from the top, which was still quite a steep climb up. Most were able to climb up to the summit. We had some hand-held oxygen in a can (purchased at a local pharmacy), which did help with the shortness of breath. The trek and the view were better than imagined. Gorgeous and sunny. There was no snow covering the rainbow mountain, or the Red Valley, which we could also see in the distance. (Our guide said the day before, there was snow, and the mountain was covered with the snow.) There were some llamas at the top to take pictures will, as well as some stalls selling drinks and souvenirs. Our guide was with us the whole time, encouraging us, and making sure we were ok. She had an oxygen saturation monitor as well as a cannister of oxygen with nasal prongs if needed (which some of us did use). It took about 60-90 minutes to walk down to our van. We stopped at the same restaurant for a buffet lunch/washroom break prior to the 90 min drive back to our hotel. We are very glad we booked with Rainbow Mountain Travels. They were very responsive with questions. Our driver kept us safe on the roads. Our wonderful guide, Yaki kept us going, with her humour and encouragement. She even provided her own walking sticks, which were not provided by the company. All meals , plus a snack bag in the van were included in the price. Price was very reasonable. We were glad we did a private group tour. We were 4 couples in our 50's to 60's.This was one of the toughest hikes in our lives. The hiking path was well maintained. It is the altitude which is the determinant factor. 1 person did not make it to the 1st steep part due to nausea and vomiting. 3 people made it up just before the summit. 4 made it to the very top. So glad we did it!
Darryn was an amazing guide who took all safety procedures seriously and the experience itself was well worth it. Highly recommend
Darwin was a good guide for us!! I arrived Cusco yesterday, we have been through Altitude over 3500 so still manageable for this tour for our case. I am not fit person but I made it all today!! Thank you for the experience!!
The tour was long and rewarding. Worth every penny and every second. David, the guide, was wonderful and the highlight of the tour believe it or not (the view wasn’t that great on a snowy/rainy March day) and a huge thank you to the driver for driving very well. 10/10 trip! Would definitely recommend!!!!
Best guide I have had so far, and amazing trek. The scenery was beautiful and I felt like everybody could keep up, even tho it was tough
The trip was very buitiful even though the rainbow mountain was a little snowy. Darwin was our guide and he was amazing. I would recommend.
The views were amazing at Rainbow Mountain! And we went to Red Valley too! Carlos the tour guide was very experienced and brought us to all the scenic routes. He knew all the right photos spots!
