Paulo was a great host and taught us a lot about chocolate. There are so many parts to this workshop, a really interactive and personal experience!

Itinerary
Experience a two-and-a-half-hour workshop where you learn how to make your own pralines and mendiants in true Belgian style, using 100% organic, artisanal Chuncho cacao from the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco, renowned for producing some of the best organic cacao in the world. The workshop takes place in the heart of Cusco, and before getting your hands dirty, you will explore the rich history and culture of chocolate. You will create around 21 pralines and 10 mendiants of your own, choosing fillings from a wide range of toppings, from homemade local jams to an extensive variety of local and organic nuts. During the class, you will also enjoy a hot chocolate that you will learn to prepare yourself, and you will be taught how to make ganache. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a personalized box so you can take your creations home to share with family and friends, and above all, you will have the satisfaction of tasting your own chocolate bonbons made with one of the finest organic cacaos in the world.

We enjoyed a fabulous workshop with Yulyssa on the 25th August. Our guide explained everything very clearly and made the chocolate-making experience fun and informative. Thoroughly recommend if you’re in Cusco!
What fun experience. We learned what temperature to melt the chocolate, the steps of how to set in the molds and taping the molds to reduce all bubble formations. While our chocolate molds were in the freezer we made chocolate Grenache to fill our molds with several options of fruits and nuts, delicious! Once they were finished and setting we made homemade hot chocolate to celebrate with our amazing instructor who was helpful and kind which made the experience so much fun 🤩 and memorable! The view of the city of Cusco from our class was spectacular- if you have time it is worth the trip up the mountain 🦙❤️
A wonderful experience making very high quality chocolate with a stunning view of cuzco. The workshop was fun and messy and it was great to have this experience on our last day in the city. I would highly recommend this to anyone and we left with so much chocolate it took us a week to get through it all.
A great evening for all the family. Information about chocolate, praline making and hot chocolate
Really fun time for me and my 15-year-old son. The workshop takes place at the Limbus Resto Bar in San Blas, a lovely place with amazing views. (Quite a climb from the taxi square so allow time if you are of a certain age...) Lucero and Paulo were fantastic. They explained everything and helped us at every stage. Only 6 participants, so everybody got great attention and care. Highly recommended!
The chocolate experience was really fun. The hosts were great, we learned some things and had some amazing chocolates to take home with us. Highly recommend.
A bit chaotic, but very fun. It would’ve been nice if water was provided throughout the experience and there was a lot of standing but very cool to learn how to make truffles and the hot chocolate was delicious.
It was very poorly organized and the guide was not very knowledgeable. A lot of what was promised was not present, felt like a waste of money. We did not learn about Peruvian chocolate or any of the history either. It was very chaotic environment and we were in a small space. I am sad because me and my party were very excited about this and felt very let down.
This experience was highly rated. So we booked it. Others in our group seemed to enjoy it. We however did not. It simply seems like the first time they have ever done it. Not well organized at all. The instructor even commented it was a big group like he was surprised. However, they set the size of the group and its stated in the description. Some of the equipment did not work. Because of this the way we proceeded did not seem sanitary, having to share everything with other groups, hands in. Other experiences on Viator showed roasting the beans and actually making the chocolate this was just melting it and putting it into molds. Just overall not for me.
This was such a fun evening! David was really kind and funny, and explained everything to us very well. The chocolate is really high quality and delicious, and the setting overlooking Cusco is beautiful. Would really recommend!
I expected it to be more complete like going out the jungle harvesting fruit and processing the beans, instead of just filling plastic moulds
David is an enthusiastic instructor. We loved the chocolates we made and the hot chocolate was delicious.
This was such a fun class. A perfect mix of education and fun while making some really delicious chocolate. Highly recommend
Fun class with friends. We learned some of the history of chocolate in the Cusco region and why it's unique. As we were making a couple dozen delicious chocolates to bring home we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the city.
Such a fun activity and something a bit different to do, the chocolates we made were awesome and everyone was so friendly
We had a great time with David, our teacher! He’s got a great sense of humor. It was a great group of people. The view over Cusco was amazing! Even the walk there was beautiful. We would 10/10 recommend this class!
Outside of the view overlooking Cusco, this experience isn’t very special and can be easily replicable at home. The host was very energetic and positive but missed the mark with his communication and quality of instruction. He was off-track with his commentary, repeating the same joke at least a half dozen times as well as promoting the company’s pub crawl another four times. He also didn’t remember any of the five participants’ names even though we all remembered each other’s names. As for the actual chocolate making workshop, I was looking forward to doing something challenging and fun that I hadn’t done before and would not be easy to do on my own but the way the class is structured, you can easily do this at home because of the very simplistic chocolates that you make. On account of these issues, I cannot recommend this experience.
What a FUN evening! Interactive, learning so much about one of the main products from Peru in a lively atmosphere full of smiles and laughter. And we walked away with our own boxes of chocolate treats, handmade by US! They were soooo good. Highly recommend as a perfect balance to your normal tours. And huge bonus, the location is up on top of a hillside (climbing up so many stairs wasn't too fun, but it was worth it), the balcony of this restaurant has a full view of Cusco at night that cannot be beat! So bring your camera, and be ready to have a relaxing fun rewarding experience. I did this with my husband and we almost bailed on it because we were both really tired. But we decided to push through it, and then entire walk back to the hotel, we both said "can you believe we almost missed that experience??" Don't miss it.
This chocolate workshop was a blast!! We can’t stay enough good about David - his communication skills and positive personality made the evening so memorable! He taught us each step in the whole chocolate process perfectly. Damaso - the assistant was also very helpful and fun! The evening view from the place was beautiful! Our chocolates turned out great! I would definitely recommend this workshop! Thanks for a great & memorable evening!
David was a good chocolate host. It was a fun activity and a little change from visiting many historical sites . The only thing to watch is that there are many steps to get to the venue inside and outside .
Amazing fun workshop, certainly recommend to do while you’re in Cusco! We also got so much chocolate to take with us and David was super fun
David was the best teacher! A very fun experience. I even want to try it at home. We left with a nice box with all our goodies at the end of the lesson.
David was an excellent and fun chocolate workshop guide! Our two kids had such a fun time learning all the steps involved with making ganache filled bon bons and hot chocolate from scratch. We also had beautiful sunset views from the top of San Blas the whole time. A truly memorable experience, highly recommend!
A last minute activity the night before we left Cusco! What fun we had! What a view ! What beautiful food at the restaurant after the CACAO CHOCOLATE making experience. A delightful, sassy and fun chocolate making teacher! They have other activities which are fun! Defiantly worth doing! The whole building has a vibe as soon as you walk in wish we had of discovered this area of town earlier!
Our instructor Randy was great, and the chocolate was delicious! I would note that this class just included melting chocolate to make truffles and different things, and does not include processing the cacao beans themselves.
Really casual , fun thing to do with the family. In a beautiful setting with an outstanding view of Cusco! The hosts (David, Avi, Erika)were fantastic. We loved it
Frank was very friendly and fun. We made several kinds of chocolate and had hit chocolate to drink at the end. The views over the city were beautiful.
Excellent fun time with Randy, we were new to the Chocalate art and he showed us all we needed to produce some lovely bites to take away. Highly recommend.
Franz was so much fun. The chocolates we made were delicious and looked professional. The location is in a great area of Cusco and the restaurant underneath is a beautiful place to enjoy drinks and dinner. If you love chocolate I highly recommend.
Fantastic chocolate and a beautiful view. I had a lot of fun making truffles and drinking hot chocolate! I highly recommend this experience. Don’t miss it.
Fun workshop for making chocolates. I think the one comment other reviewers made was very relevant: you will be dropped off at the bottom of the mountain and need to walk up quite a few steps to get to the class. Once we made it to the restaurant and one more floor to the class area, it was great. We were taught techniques for making shells for the chocolates and then filling them. Then we made the cover to seal them shut. We got to bring home our creations which was fun to have later.
This was one of my favorite activities in Cusco! My daughter and I had a lot of fun making the chocolates. We had an awesome view of the city as we drank our hot chocolate. Highly recommend for a fun few hours.
AMAZING experience. Abelardo speaks Spanish, English and French, he's funny, knowledgeable, communicative and generous. The chocolate is one of the best I've ever eaten, and organic 👌 making truffles is a very unique... and delicious experience! 🤤 I strongly recommend!
We had a private session because the 3 of us were the only ones signed up for our chocolate workshop with Luis and Randy. Both gentlemen showed pride for their native chocolate / cacao, were friendly and patient, and we had a great time making pralines. / Bonbons and hot chocolate which we enjoyed on their balcony. The chocolate workshop is in the upstairs section of the Limbus restaurant, which is indicated on their website but nowhere else. There are not signs on the street. Would absolutely do it again.
It was a fun Workshop even if we were just 2 students in that particular time. We got to make delicious chocolate pieces, ganache, with fillings like nuts, coconut flakes and dried fruits. We also utilized the remaining chocolates and concocted it into Special Hot Chicolate Drinks. Abelardo, our Instructor, is so cool and engaging. He was classically trained in Belgium and divides his time between the two countries. The other beautiful thing about this class is that you get to do it overlooking the Cusco Skyline just at the time of Sunset! It’s a Chocolate Workshop with Cusco Sunset Viewing! I had a spectacular time!
We had a 2 hour chocolate making class with Abelardo. He explained everything from the history of chocolate to the chemistry of chocolate tempering process. We used top quality chocolate and made about 2 dozen pieces of chocolate. My kids (ages 12&16) said it was the best hot chocolate they have ever had! Recommend this class 100%. Bonus was the location of the class is in an adorable neighborhood called San Blas and had an amazing view!
Amazing chocolate! , i was with friends and the experience was very nice. Workers are very friendly . I going to back next month
Abelardo was great. It was just a group of four ( our family) and it was a fun experience with great views of Cusco at night. Highly recommended
Our first evening in Cusco and what better way to spend it than making and eating chocolate. The workshop began with a brief but informative talk about chocolate before we all got stuck in with the hands-on session. Abelardo was our instructor and he helped to make it such a fun evening. He was very knowledgeable but what came through the most was his love of all things chocolate and his passion for the art of chocolate making. His instructions were clear and he gave the right level of support; he knew just when to step in to prevent any disaster! We were given lots of different ingredients so that we could experiment with different fillings for our chocolates and we were encouraged to be creative with our flavourings. By the end of the workshop we had a very full box of chocolates to take away all beautifully crafted by our very own hands. This chocolate-making workshop was educational and fun and was well worth attending.
This was a really fun way to spend an evening while acclimating to Cusco’s higher elevation. Abelardo was a funny, patient, and knowledgeable person and he made it a genuinely good experience. Definitely recommend!
The workshop was such a fun class to learn about this history of chocolate in the region and to get some hands-on experience making it. The venue was also amazing with a view of Cusco at sunset.
Went here on Friday after a snow storm derailed our plans to hike to Rainbow Mountain. The Cusco Chocolate Workshop was amazing and accommodated my family and I last minute. The class was fun, well taught and the hot chocolate and chocolates we made were delicious! I would highly recommend this class if you have a free night in Cusco.
This workshop was great fun! We made pralines and some chocolate medallions. The highlight for us was the hot chocolate, it was intense but so delicious! Luis was a great instructor, very friendly and knowledgeable. The view over San Blas was awesome too. We also appreciated the flexibility in being able to reschedule our workshop to another date due to illness. We would recommend this as a fun activity for all chocolate lovers!
Exceptional, an unparalleled and indelible encounter. Abundant with mirth and cherished moments. Highly endorsed. The guides excel in their expertise.
Such a great experience! Titch was the best. What a great view, educational and great chocolate!! Would absolutely recommend this
Firstly this activity is hosted at an amazing roof top bar/restaurant, with stunning city views. You can easily incorporate this activity with dinner and drinks at “Limbus Resto Bar”. They had a live DJ which added to the evening ambiance. Our workshop was hosted by Luis who was so enthusiastic about Peru, chocolate and it’s history. He shared lots of tidbits, for example when translated “Ganache” means “idiot” in french, because it was created accidentally. Luis was very patient and talked us through everything step by step. We made hot chocolate together at the end with left over ingredients which was to die for! This is a really fun and relaxed activity that started at 5pm and ended by 7pm (or 7.30pm, if the group is slightly larger). We left with loads of delicious chocolate at the end and knowing I made it just makes it that much sweeter. Overall really great value for money too.
And amazing experience !!!!! I would recommend this over any other chocolate making workshop. After reading many reviews we chose this workshop and it did not disappoint ! We got so many chocolates to take home, we also got to make hot chocolate. The view was incomparable.
A great experience! those guys are amazing and the workshop PERFECT! What an amazing idea keep doing guys! thanks for everything! the chocolat was delicious!!!
What an experience it was! So much chocolate...and so much fun! I haven't expected to participate in such a workshop while being in Peru but it was totally worth it! Thank you guys for being so welcoming and bringing so much positive energy!
