The Palcoyo Tour offers a comfortable and scenic journey through the South Valley of Cusco. After enjoying a buffet breakfast in a local restaurant, we continue into the Andes where you can admire traditional villages, llamas, and alpacas along the way. The hike to Palcoyo is easy and suitable for all ages, making it ideal for any traveler. With the support of our professional bilingual guide and trekking poles included, you will enjoy a relaxed walk surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. At the summit, you will experience the colorful Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain with stunning views of the Ausangate glacier—perfect for unforgettable photos. After exploring, we return to the village for a fresh buffet lunch before heading back to Cusco. This tour offers comfort, safety, and personalized service for a peaceful adventure in the heart of the Andes.
Checacupe, located just two hours from Cusco in the province of Canchis, is a hidden historical gem where Inca, Colonial, and Republican eras come together. This charming Andean town is best known for its three adjacent bridges—each representing a different period in Peru’s history—spanning the Vilcanota River and creating a truly unique landscape. Among its highlights is the impressive colonial stone bridge, built with lime and stone and still in use today. Another must-see is the 17th-century Church of the Immaculate Conception, often called the “Sistine Chapel of America” for its remarkable murals and religious artwork. Checacupe is an authentic cultural stop along the route to Rainbow Mountain, perfect for travelers looking to enrich their journey with living history, traditional architecture, and meaningful encounters with local communities dedicated to alpaca fiber craftsmanship.

Our experiences with Guillermo was very nice and fun! He was entertaining and informed us of everything we needed to know about this experience. I enjoyed it quite a bit; the food was also very good—both breakfast and lunch. I highly recommend it.
Very nice experience. The guide was excellent, professional and caring.
We had a wonderful day, Ronaldo was everything we can expect from a guide: interesting, took care of everyone in the group paying attention to his reaction to altitude. The driver was perfect considering we had a drive of few hours.
We had a great tour with our guide Ronald, he was very nice and attentive. He was watching out for every member of the group and supplying medicine against altitude sickness if needed Can definitely recommend :)
The guide was nice and professional and the route is highly recommended. One of the must-do experiences in Cusco. It is recommended to check your health. There is a lot of walking
We made the tour with Guillermo, who is a funny guy, made his best to entertain the group, giving interesting information about the places we visited. Moreover, he took a good care of my husband, who got altitude sickness on the way down. The scenery, the views, the colours of the nature are unreal, awesome and breathtaking. The travelling from Cusco and back was a bit longer, but it worth it. There were breakfast and lunch included and the food was more than delicious.
Visiting Palcoyo was an amazing experience, we got a lot of information about all the places that we stayed. Artemio answered all the questions that we had on the tour. It wasn’t crowded like Vinicunca, so If you want to take good pictures and go on without interruptions, you should visit Palcoyo.
I went on the palcoyo tour by myself. The van picked me up on time and the tourguide John did a great job. He has a big knowledge about the area and culture and knows how to entertain people in a funny way. The route was beautiful and also the food they offered was delicious.
The Tour was amazing and a lot of fun. The Views about Palccoyo was absolut Worth it. Our Tour Guide Chachara was knowledge and stunning with a lot of Information about the area and the Inka culture :) we would recommend and hope to do a Tour again!
The best hike I’ve been on! I did a group tour with my girlfriend and two friends. We were accompanied by 9 other people and our guide, Hector. We did the hike to see the Palccoyo rainbow mountain. To start, we were picked up from our Airbnb at 4:25 AM (I know, super early). We were the first to get picked up, so we picked up the other groups of people afterwards. We then drove around 1.5 hours to eat breakfast at a buffet for around 30 minutes. The breakfast was light and simple with options such as fruits, cereal, omelettes, and other items. We then left and for another 2 hour commute to the mountain. The last hour of the commute was STUNNING, where you can see terraces, mountains, and llamas/alpacas. It had actually snowed the day before our trip, so we saw mountains that were snow-covered and green! The views were honestly immaculate, some of the best that we ever seen. When we arrived, the guide gave us a little history of the importance of the mountain to the Quechua people, instructions, and even gave an offering to the mountain. Afterwards, we started our ascension. Now this is where the experience may differ depending on your guide. Our guide, Hector, was adventurous, but yet precautious. He wanted to ensure that we got the best views, so we went to one of the highest point of the mountain (4975 meters above sea level)! Now this part of the hike was definitely the toughest. There’s less oxygen in this altitude, so you’ll definitely feel that you’re more out-of-breath faster. Hector was a great support for my friend and was always looking out for the success of the group. By the time we got to the top, we were winded, but man the view is like nothing I’ve experienced before. Purely magical, and this wasn’t even the “main attraction” of the hike. The descension was equally amazing. We met locals, took photos with llamas, and even listened to some classic Quechua music that one of the locals performed. Finally, we got to view the “main” rainbow mountain. We continued and concluded the hike in around 2.5 hours. We took so many pictures and videos, and at no point did we feel rushed, Hector also did a great job of taking photos and leading the group. After all is said and done, we traveled back to the same restaurant to have lunch. The food was okay but it was good enough. Afterwards, we headed back home. Overall, the experience was amazing! Everything from the views, seeing the locals, and everything in between. I think that what separates this from other similar trips is the guide. Hector was great, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone thinking about doing the trip. If you’re worried about the hike, the best thing that you can do is come prepared. Come with hiking boots- depending if it rains or not the ground is slippery in some areas. Rain jacket - because it can rain out of no where and then become sunny-with that being said come with layered clothing underneath and sunscreen lotion. Make sure that you adapt to the altitude a minimum of three full days because the altitude should not be taken lightly. Also if you get car sick make sure to bring motion sickness medicine/pills, this will help to ease any nausea during the ride to and from this trip. Definitely worth the money! I would do this trip before it becomes crowded like Vinicunca!
The guide Christian Cháchara was excelente . He was very friendly and professional. The tour was a little bit too touristy for my taste, but the red Valley and Rainbow Mountain a great expirience. Its a pitty, that you have to pay for everything separatly. Its not an amount for national Park. You pay for every mirador. Anyway it was a great tour and it was worth it thanks to Great Guide!
Guillermo is an excellent guide. Knowledgeable about the subject of trekking to the mountains, professional of 1 level, attentive in providing the best possible experience and committed to the safety of tourists. 5 🌟
Unforgettable experience. Thank you Guilhermo for all help and support. I'll be back.
I really liked it! It was not difficult, you feel the height but carrying good pace and breathing all right. Ronald the most! Really what super friendly and set aside some great photos:)
Very complete and well organized tour. Thanks to our guide Ronald for joining us and being attentive to the group at all times (in addition to making the best photos lol) highly recommended!!
One of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. It's an exhausting journey but it's worth it! Ronald the guide was excellent, very friendly, attentive and concerned about the condition of all the members of the group.
Fully recommended. Ronald, besides being an excellent guide, takes care of every detail and shows great dedication so that all visitors enjoy the experience and take an ideal photograph as a souvenir.
It was a nice experience and we are very grateful to the Ronald guide
Nice experience, very good excellent guide I take a pleasant experience with the good company of the very trained Ronald guide 10 stars for him.
Ronald is the best guide you can have, attentive and friendly at all times with a lot of knowledge of the place
Yusmer was an excellent guide accompanied us and explained everything in addition that his energy makes him exciting. The tour is very organized I really recommend you do it with them!
I made an excellent reservation, the best decision of my trip Very good service, Fredy is the best guide I've ever had... I hope soon to return to Cusco hire them again Thank you Guerrero!
Very nice experience.. our guide Hector of the team "Bears" very friendly attentive enthusiast.. always attentive..your precise recommendations. It was a wonderful experience. Beautiful landscapes
Excellent experience, the accompaniment of Yusmer due impeccable. He explained everything very clear and pleasant. He made jokes that brightened the moment and was always taking care of everyone, attentive to any need.
It has been one of the best experiences we have lived in Peru. The Palcoyo Valley is a beautiful place, full of colorful mountains that cannot be more amazing. Also, there were not many people, which made the tour feel quiet and special. Our guide, Guillermo, was attentive to the group throughout and made us have an excellent day. We recommend this visit without hesitation.
Great ride! The trail to get to the top of the mountain is not so difficult if you are already acclimatized. The lunch was delicious and the guide Guillermo was excellent.
We were lucky enough that this tour was guided by Fredy the truth at all times made the trip interesting and fun, we did not have the opportunity to see the 7 colors of the Mountain because it was snowy but the truth the beautiful landscape was worth 100% the experience, thank you very much for your attention Fredy
I was excited to visit the mountain of 7 colors and made reservations through an international travel agency, fortunately, this agency made reservations with Arnold Expeditions and above all, that our guide was Fredy. The experience was wonderful, since we were picked up at our hotel, on time and along the way. If you have the opportunity to visit this place, I recommend 100% this tour and especially with Fredy. Always attentive and resolved doubts no matter how small. Thank you very much Fredy, Tupananchiskama
The experience of knowing this beautiful place as it is the mountain of 7 colors was wonderful, I fully recommend it and recommend Fredy's guide much more, made the trip more interesting and with his good humor he managed to have a very pleasant time
The tour experience was the Better, the very experienced guide gave us the best information of the site we visited, highly recommended
A wonderful experience. Dreamscapes and a day for remembrance. Thanks to Freddy, our guide, for all your work and kindness. People how he makes the world better.
Excellent Guide and Service Provided, 100% recommend the experience with the Staff and Enterprise that accompanied us in Cuzco, blessings and many thanks from Colombia
Very good experience! Palccoyo Mountain is an excellent choice, the views are breathtaking. The guide Artemio was very friendly and was attentive at all times to how we felt with the height.
The duo Guillermo and Daniel (guide/driver) with their charisma and dedication, made our tour an unforgettable experience. The Palccoyo mountain range is an incredible, beautiful place. A breathtaking landscape, literally. It was all perfect. I recommend 100%. Gratitude for making this moment so special for us.
I loved it since the guide Javier picked us up, his charisma and the way he narrates the wonderful place we met, Palccoyo is pure magic, it is spiritual connection, tranquility and lots of love
Beautiful views and very few people compared to other tourist places. Our guide, Guillermo and driver Daniel with a good experience and very friendly.
Highly recommended tour, amazing views and not as saturated as the mountain of 7 colors. The guide Artemio accompanied us throughout the journey and told us the story of this mountain. An excellent guide!
The walk was amazing! We love the landscapes. We chose Palccoyo for being a place with fewer tourists. You can better enjoy the landscapes, which do not lose in NADA to Vinicunca, I think it is even better, because Palccoyo has several colorful mountains, and Vinicunca one. The breakfast and lunch were delicious, with dishes from the daily cuisine of the region! However, the transportation was bad, dust was in the air conditioning, I think the filters need to be changed. Even, it doesn't cool very well. Nevertheless, the tour is super worth it! I advise tourists to bring soles, candy and bullets to the little children who stay on top of the mountain waiting for visitors to take photos with the lamas. They're cute and shy. Nice tour to do after you are already set in Cusco. Super recommend!
It was a really good tour!! I had to climb almost 5000 meters, but in the middle it was hard to give up when I gave me a snack and I quickly got better! It was very nice to take pictures and explain them in English to people who don't speak Spanish!!
I'll take pictures and give you some subtleties, so you can catch a chickenpox! Falco is so pretty, and in the middle of the incubator, I'll look at it, and on the way to Falco, I'll look at baby lama and I won't forget. I thought I was dying of a bruise, but thankfully I got better.
We did the tour with Cristian and everything great. A prepared guide, with a lot of experience and who answered all the doubts the group had, a success!
A fantastic day. Cristian was a wonderful guide who explained everything to us on various stops. Cristian has an enormous knowledge of the region, which he shared with great pleasure with our group. I highly recommend this day trip. An absolute highlight of my trip! Thank you Cristian!
The tour was extraordinary, Cristian (guide) gave us a class and removed all the doubts about the Inca history, providing a very pleasant day. The landscapes are literally breathtaking. I indicate 100% this wonderful team, The buffet with typical meals, closed with a golden key this unforgettable day.
The tour to the Palcoyo mountain exceeded my expectations, it was challenging because of the altitude but our guide Héctor was always encouraging us and asking how we were, I recommend the agency especially to Héctor and our driver, because the end of the road is beautiful but challenging. It was a magical day where we picked up from granizo rain until the sun opened at the descent and we could enjoy the landscape.
Excellent destination Palccoyo mountain, Artemio very good guide, helps you with what you need, destination highly recommended!
The visit to Palcoyo was magnificent, it is a long journey but worth it, the place is very little visited and has magnificent views. The rather patient and experienced guide William was prepared so that no one felt bad during the Path, in addition to sharing breads with inhabitants of the community of Palcoyo, a great gesture on their part!!!! Stunning views, excellent explanation, ideal for people with little condition and who prefer not so busy places, we had 1 theme with transport q was resolved before leaving Cusco and immediately.
Cristian - chatter, was a good guide on the palccyo tour, the scenery is nice and very quiet, it was an amazing day. Thank you.
We have one. Excursion to Rainbow Mountain made. The mountain was very nice, the rest of the tour unfortunately not. Breakfast and lunch were fine. The guide could hardly speak English and spoke very vaguely. Furthermore, nothing was explained to us during the tour. We would have liked to know more about the mountain and its colors. In Spanish the guide explained a little more, for several people during the tour that was a shame. He took little time for the guests and their needs and constantly rushed. In addition, the transport was neither air-conditioned nor had good ventilation. The stop at the Inca Bridge was also disappointing. There is a recommendation for the destination definitely, but with another agency!
The Mountain of 7 colors is something not to miss if you go to Peru. We chose Palcoyo and it was awesome. It is a hard hike through the high altitude, but with patience everything comes. Our Guide has been Yusmer, without doubt the icing on the cake, has accompanied us in everything and thanks to him we have known all the history of these mountains. My only complaint would be the lunch buffet, there was not too much variety and the quality was not very high. Breakfast if it's been okay!
