Itinerary
Join a fun and immersive Peruvian cooking class in Cusco, ideal for all ages and skill levels, led by a local chef. Back at the kitchen, participate hands-on in preparing a full menu featuring four authentic dishes—such as Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, and Chocotejas—plus the iconic pisco sour cocktail (or lemonade for children and non-alcoholic preferences). Loved this! A cooking class is the best way to engage with a place - the people, the food, the markets. Joan and Roxana were such fun to spend time with and I’m now armed with the knowledge and skills to expand my cuisine offerings. Highly recommend you do this!!!
So much fun! Abigail was such a great lead chef and the food was absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend, thank you!!!
I had a most lovely time learning to cook with Abigail and Johan. Abigail did such an excellent job explaining both the cooking process and the influences that go into Peruvian cuisine. On top of this, the food that we made has been my favorite of this entire trip! I could not recommend highly enough.
Excellent! Brian was a great host, guide and teacher! It was a GREAT experience-highly recommend the class! It was a wonderful mom/daughter together time. Thank you, Brian!
My boyfriend and I had a beautiful and super tasty cooking class with Abigail! We visited the market, tasted some local fruits and made 2 dishes + Pisco Sour while Abigail told us some history and culture of Peru. It delivered everything you want in a cooking class - cleanliness, culture and delicious food. This was the first activity we did in Peru and we learnt a lot just talking to Abigail. The ceviche and lomo Saltado were delicious. Highly recommend for everyone to try in Cusco! 🥰🥰
We had a great time learning about Peruvian cuisine with Abigail and Johan. Thanks for the tips and showing us the step by step cooking process!
Had a great time with chef Abigail and her assistant Johan. After tasting special local friuts, Abigail took us to San Pedro market to buy local produce, and provided captivating explanations about the different goods sold at the market. We then prepared delicious pisco sour, cevice and lomo saltado. The vegeterian versions were great (perhaps even better then the originals), with mango cevice to mushroom lomo saltado. We finished the meal with a sweet treat - chocolate prepared in the next door chocolate boutique. An excellent experience overall!
Surprised I was the only one in the class and so grateful they did it with just me. I only booked the night before. It was excellent learning about the foods, going to the market to walk around and understand more about lifestyle. Thanks Brian for taking care of me.
We did was what described. It was nice just being with four of us. Cannot imagine being with the maximum capacity You mainly do the preparation of the food. There is only one stove. We felt rushed going through the market. Luckily we had been there before with another guide. You make ceviche first and then immediately lomo saltado. When you start your dinner. You have to choose start with your main dish while it’s hot. Or with starter ….. the area where you actually eat is upstairs and not that nice. Restroom like one meter from your table. Ladies were very friendly. Believe that’s why there are so many positive reviews. Thought it was costly for what you get. Food was good. You get the recipe. Starting hour at 15:15 is early for dinner. We were done ant 17:40 (My tour operator booked)
Abigail, Francisca and Roxanna were excellent. Very patient with our large group. Really nice experience. Highly recommended
Excellent, very taste , we enjoyed everything, the visit to the market , and the preparation of the dishes , Roxana was great chef with her helper Ayde.
Everything was great From shopping at the market To instruction by chef Through all the prep and especially enjoying Abigail and Elizabeth were fantastic!!
Signed up through an organised tour. A group of 7 joined the class. Was superbly run by Abigail and assisted seamlessly by Aydee. We spent time fruit tasting, going through the ingredients, before heading down to San Pedro to collect what was required. At the market, Abi combined shopping and answering any questions the group had. We learned a little about local customs and got to try some bread and cheese Back in the kitchen, everything ran like clockwork. Before we knew it, we were eating two fabulous dishes with a pisco sour. It was great! Highly recommend
This was such fun and an amazing experience. Our chef was Abigail assisted by Aydee. Being taken to the local market to buy the produce also gave us the opportunity to see other fruits and veggies. We made 3 dishes plus tried some fruits and we're given chocolates for dessert. The pace was great, the food AMAZING, and a fantastic time. If thinking of doing this while in Cusco, do it, you won't be disappointed
Absolutely fantastic experience at Pete’s Cooking Classes, run by the wonderful Dalia. She was enthusiastic and informative and spoke brilliantly in English and Spanish, teaching us all about the food we were making and how to make the best pisco sour! Loved starting at the market and buying the food we needed for the meal, it was great to make it all from scratch, which was delicious!
Only the two of us. Started with fruit tasting, then a shopping list for purchase in the San Pedro market a short walk away. Mix a Pisco Sour, followed by making Ceviche and Lomo Saltado followed by a couple of chocolates. We had a main chef and another person running around clearing up and cooking elements around us. Good fun.
We had a great time, from shopping for the ingredients to making the great food. It was a lot of fun and our dinner was fantastic. We recommend for anyone!
Our instructor was so sweet and helped strangers who had never met before connect. He was bilingual and very friendly and we really appreciated how even though the class was meant to take 3 hours, our instructor Paul never rushed us or the experience. We got to see the market, try new fruits from Latan America and make delicious dishes! It was definitely one of my favorite memories in Cusco!
Really nice experience. We made a nice cocktail and tasty chocolate. I forgot his name, but our teacher (guy with glasses, 27/02 at 6pm) did it really well!
Absolutely fantastic, fun, and interesting! Our family had a great time cooking with Pete. We made Pisco Sours, cevechie, and stir fry tenderloin. Fun and delicious! Highly recommended!!
So much fun for our group of 8. Pedro was very knowledgeable and the tour of the market was super interesting. Had fun making all of the food
I arrived to the class solo, and joined other people taking the class. Chef Javi took us to the market, we had a really nice tour with explanations, and bought ingredients for the cooking part. Then we cooked 3 course meal, had some fresh fruit to try, and made pisco sour. Very fun activity, great chef, and great food! I highly recommend
Pete was an amazing teacher and he's a great person too. I was in the class by myself and eventually got elevation sickness ans he helped me by providing some tea and took things slow. Asides that, I really enjoyed the class and the food itself was yummy! If you're considering this, do it!!!
One of the best things I did while in Cusco! Paul and Claudia were absolutely amazing. We were laughing and having such a fun time throughout the entire class.
SCAM. Worst experience ever. Pete forgot almost every ítem on the list for the menu, algo the things que bought were not enough, if you drop an egg they would go again to buy it. He should buy for those cases. My friend had to cook salted beef and the only thing he did was peel a potato and cut a tomato. Its supposed to be a cooking class and he didnt teach anything, just gave instructions fairly unclear. I could write a lot, but the thing is just dont fall, this is a scam.
Very good cooking classes, the people were very helpful and the food was delicious. Going to the market was a fun experience.
This was such a fun experience. Diego was super helpful and informative. He answered all our million questions about various Peruvian foods, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience with Fredy! Everything was great from the purchases in the San Pedro market to the class. And most important, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this course, Fredy and his team will make everything they can to make you feel comfortable and will also adapt the menu according to your preferences/allergies.
It was an amazing experience ! I spent a lovely moment with Pedro and recommand his cooking classes at 200 %. He his a very passionate chef who loves to share with his clients his knowledge about Peruvian culture, gastronomy ans products! For sure, you will learn a lot! I've had my cooking class with Pedro the 1st of january 2022 and it was the best way to start this New year! Thank you so much Pedro!
Pedro offered a cooking class just for me for the same price as a group cooking class. Pedro is a good cook (and educates teacher as well!) that likes to share his experiences about cooking to others. Unfortunately our starter got burned, but that happens ;) we cooked a delicious ceviche after buying the ingredients at the San Pedro market.
My girlfriend and I did menu 1 with vegetarian substitution, and it was delicious! Pedro was a great host and tour guide of the market. He speaks great English as well! We did the class on American thanksgiving so it was nice to have a meal that felt home cooked.
Excellent! Joan and Karina were outstanding hosts, the class experience was very dedicated, and the ceviche and stir-fried beef recipes were simply delicious—highly recommended!
Amazing experience with Master Abigail, she taught us every preparation very well with great attention and patience. I loved the visit to the market and everything I learned with it. Highly recommended
Very good food. The market visit is also very nice. Top chefs Abigail and Rosanna! Absolutely recommended for those who want to learn more about Peruvian cuisine.
Jonah and Roxanne are two fantastic cooks. They explained everything and the experience of going to the market together is valuable. They are very nice in explaining all the steps and the history of the dishes.
Great time shared as a couple!...even if my husband was not excited at the start To accompany me 😄 In the end we feasted! Abigaël's very professional explanations with lots of smiles and patience with amateurs! And technical assistance and very clean cooking thanks to Johan! The price seems high but in the end we were delighted with the result!
Very good experience, we cooked Lomo saltado with Ceviche and Pisco sour with Abigail and Roxanna, both were very good and friendly teachers, to recommend.
Great discovery! We had a great time with Roxana and Aide. They are super nice and take the time to explain properly
Super recommended! If you come, do not hesitate to do it. Dalia and Elisabet are super friendly and care that everything goes phenomenal.3 hours that have passed very fast. Thank you 💖
It was the first cooking class as a couple and it was a great experience. The beginning of shopping at the market and meeting different foods from Peru was chevere. And then in the kitchen the tricks and prepare the chicken aji and pisco sour we will not forget them. We recommend it to everyone who wants to eat an excellent dinner/lunch. Thank you so much Pete!
I really liked the time and patience, Professor Diego very attentive that we all understand even the ATM took us and the result rich
