I am truly grateful to Roberto for making my visit to Machu Picchu such an incredible and memorable experience. He is an outstanding local guide with extensive knowledge of the archaeological site and a genuine passion for sharing its history and culture. One of the most fascinating aspects of the tour was learning from someone who is deeply connected to the local heritage and even speaks Quechua. Roberto showed me remarkable details and explained the site in such an engaging and comprehensive way that I was able to appreciate Machu Picchu on a much deeper level. Beyond his knowledge and professionalism, what truly sets him apart is his kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the experience, paid attention to my arrival and departure, and even ensured that I got safely back to my hotel. Thank you, Roberto, for your warmth, dedication, and generosity. You didn’t just guide me through Machu Picchu; you made the experience truly meaningful. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone visiting this extraordinary place. He is a wonderful ambassador of his culture and heritage!

Explore Machu Picchu with your own private tour guide and make every minute count. This service is perfect if you already have your train, bus, and entrance tickets and just want a friendly expert to bring the site to life. Meet your guide in Aguas Calientes (hotel or train station) or directly at the main gate of Machu Picchu. From town, you’ll take the 30-minute bus up to the citadel (bus and entry tickets are not included). Your guided visit lasts about 2–3 hours. You’ll walk through temples, royal sectors, terraces, and the best viewpoints while your guide shares clear, simple stories about Inca history and daily life. We recommend booking Circuit 2 for the most complete route; if it’s sold out, Circuit 3 is next best, followed by Circuit 1. Because this is a private tour, you set the pace. Want more time for photos, questions, or a quiet moment to take it all in? Just ask. Your guide will tailor the visit to you and make your time at Machu Picchu easy and unforgettable.

We booked a private tour to Machu Picchu with TreXperience. Roberto was our guide and collected us at our hotel at 0620 for a 0700 entry. He was fantastic. Had great knowledge of the history and knew all the scenic spots as well as took great photos for us.
Highly recommend this tour. We were all well looked after from the moment we got pick up from our hotel. The train ride was so beautiful! Our tour guide, Roberto was just amazing at Machu Picchu.
Really lovely tour guide! He was so nice and even though it rained he made it fun still. Thank you Ronald!
Roberto was an amazing guide! He explained the history really well, had good pace to let us explore the viewpoint and took some great photos of us too :)
Our guide Eric was prompt, communicative & very knowledgeable.
The views at Machu Picchu were phenomenal, and our guide, Gregorio, made the experience even better. He was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about the site's history and culture, sharing fascinating insights that brought everything to life. Gregorio also knew the best photography spots, helped us capture great pictures, and adjusted the pace to suit our group. We highly recommend this tour company and especially Gregorio for an informative, enjoyable Machu Picchu experience!
Yenifer is a brilliant guide and we really loved the tour. The hotel Pick-Up was a great service and we felt great during the whole time.
Machu Picchu was incredible to see. We got a 3 pm ticket for circuit 2, which is great because it is less busy then. We started at the upper part, which directly brought us to the classic, iconic viewpoint. Seeing this was really amazing. After that, we went into the Inka site to see the urban area, the temple and some cute Llamas. Our guide, Roberto, met us at our hotel in Aguas Calientes. We agreed on 2 pm, but he was there already at 1:40, which was great since we could start queuing for the bus earlier and made it into Machu Picchu in time. Roberto is extremely knowledgeable in Inka culture and history with excellent English. He told us a lot about the Inka sit but kept the information to a level that we could absorb. He also was happy to be our personal photographer and pointed out all the good photo spots. Since we had him as a private tour guide, he could take as many picutes as we liked, which turned out to be amazing memories of this experience. Having done these tours for 30+ years, Roberto knows his way around perfectly, including where the queues are the shortest. The time schedule was quite tight for us. You have to wait for the bus to Machu Picchu, wait at the entrance and also wait for the bus back to Aguas Calientes again. Our train to Cusco was booked for 6:20 pm which meant we had ~2 hours for Machu Picchu itself, which is enough too see everything but we would'veliked to spend more time there. (This was booked by another operator, not by Roberto.) Roberto timed the tour perfectly and ensured we arrived in Aguas Calientes back in time. For afternoon tickets, I would recommend to book a later train ticket, or stay another night in Aguas Calientes. Overall, Roberto is a 11/10 and I would really recommend him as a tour guide!
Machu Pichu was one of the best experiences and sites to see so far. It’s breathtaking! We booked the 3pm entry with a 6:20pm train. Our tour guide told us to meet at 2pm, but in the end he showed up way earlier so we had more time to queue in the line for the bus to machu pichu. Roberto, the tour guide, had more than 30-years of experience and reassured us that our tight schedule will work out perfectly fine. We arrived just in time with almost no waiting at machu pichu, so we entered machu pichu at exactly 3pm. He started the tour very relaxed and told us a lot of Inka history, showed us pictures of the discovery and how it might have looked back in the days during Inka-times. The knowledge, details provided and English skills were excellent so we really had the feeling to get the best experience of machu pichu possible. He knew the best Photo-Spots and was not only our private tour guide, but our private photographer as well; and to be honest the pictures are outstanding and nice! He always had a look on the time, to make sure we make our train ride back, even though at the end, not only because we got a history lesson which was incredible, but also because we took our time and asked a lot of questions we had to rush a little more than usual during the last quarter of machu pichu. Still we didn’t feel rushed or that we didn’t see anything. Overall review of Roberto is a 11/10. Thanks for the great tour and making our Machu Pichu trip the best we could’ve imagined.
We did the Machu Picchu Day Trip with Vistadome Observatory Train on Oct 13 with TreXperience and it was the absolute highlight of our Peru trip. Everything ran like clockwork — 5:00 a.m. hotel pickup, the scenic 7:45 Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, then our guide Roberto met us and took us up to Machu Picchu. Roberto was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Inca history. He brought the citadel to life during our ~3-hour tour, knew all the best photo spots, and kept a great pace. The return logistics were seamless too, with the 16:22 train back. Highly recommend Roberto and TreXperience for Machu Picchu!
Ruth was great. She knew how to help us avoid the crowds and made sure we got the photos we wanted. She was also very knowledgeable
Gregorio did a good job of explaining the significance and history of Machu Picchu. He was very flexible and patient with our many questions. If you want a easy going guide with a solid knowledge base, this is a good pick.
Machu Picchu was genuinely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. The whole day with TreXperience was really well organised, from the early pickup in Cusco and the beautiful drive through the mountains to the Vistadome Observatory train and finally arriving at Machu Picchu. The real highlight, though, was my guide, Eric. He was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history of Machu Picchu in a way that was interesting, easy to follow and never felt like he was just reciting facts. He took his time, answered every question, pointed out things I would never have noticed myself and made the whole experience feel very personal. You could tell he genuinely cared about the place and about making sure I got as much as possible from the visit. I did Circuit 1B and it was perfect for what I wanted. I was mainly interested in the classic panoramic views and understanding the history rather than spending hours walking around every part of the archaeological site. There is still around 10–15 minutes of uphill walking to reach the viewpoint, but it was completely manageable and the views were incredible. I’d heard mixed things about Circuit 1 before going, but I honestly couldn’t have been happier with it, and a huge part of that was down to how good the guide was. He made an already incredible place feel even more special. Circuit 1B took a total of 2 hours to complete, due to the crowd control now in place, at no stage did the tour feel overcrowded either. Easily a 5-star experience and one of the highlights of my entire South America trip.
Great communications on booking and tour guide Roberto and Raul
Roberto on every step of our tour (at the bus, at the site, even in town) exceeded expectations! He was phenomenal! Our route 2B tour to Machu Picchu was very much enriched by his expertise with the cultural and historical context. Would absolutely book again!
Roberto was SO phenomenal as a guide! He was knowledgeable and went above and beyond in answering questions and helping us through the tour and even back in town! I truly cannot say enough positive things about him and the tour!
Our guide Roberto was great! He shared his knowledge of Machu Picchu, its rich history and love of his native Quechua language! He patiently answered all our questions and knew all the best spots to take the classic photos. We would highly recommend Roberto!
Enjoyed a well organised private tour with Robert who was knowledgeable and patient and made our trip extra special
My sisters and I had an incredible time on our tour with Edgar! He met us at our hotel in Aquas Calientes and made all of the logistics getting to and from Machu Picchu very easy. After we arrived, Edgar gave us an incredible tour with tons of background and history, and he took some great photos for us!
We had a wonderful tour of Machu Pichu with Eric. Upon arriving on the train, a member of their staff was right outside the station with a sign with our names on it so they were easy to find. We had already purchased our bus tickets and they explained how the bus lines worked, based on the hour you are allowed to enter the site. We met Eric upon arriving by bus. We did the Panorama tour with him, learned a ton about the culture and history and he helped us get a bunch of great photos and a really neat video. Eric speaks English and was patient with us if we were sucking wind and with our questions. We had a tight connection for our return train back to Ollantaytambo. Eric helped ensure we were able to get on a bus that got us back in time. We recommend this service.
Fantastic experience to Machu Picchu! Very friendly and knowledgeable guide Roberto elevated the already magical place to a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
We had tickets for Machu Picchu Circuit 3A at 7:00 am, and the day before the tour we agreed on a 6:00 am pickup from our hotel. On the morning of the tour, just 10 minutes before the agreed pickup time, we were told that it had been changed to 6:45 am. The explanation given was that this would allow us to have enough time to enjoy breakfast. Of course, by 5:50 am we were already completely ready to leave, so this explanation made very little sense to us. What was most disappointing was that we were never given a proper explanation for the change or even an apology. Even after we expressed our concern about the timing, we were simply told several times that the change was so we could have a proper breakfast. In the end, a different guide, Noemi, arrived and took us on the tour. We really liked her and genuinely appreciate the effort she made to save the situation. She was friendly, knowledgeable and did her best to make sure we still had a good experience. Unfortunately, because of the delay beforehand, we felt that parts of the visit were slightly rushed. For something as important as a Machu Picchu tour, especially with a fixed entry time, we expected much better organisation and communication. A big thank you to Noemi for doing her best and turning things around. However, the whole situation beforehand was completely avoidable with better planning and communication.
We had an incredible experience visiting Machu Picchu – Circuit 2 with TreXperience. Our guide, Roberto, was fantastic. His knowledge of Machu Picchu, the Incas and the history of the site was incredible. He took the time to explain the history and significance behind everything we were seeing, which gave us a much deeper understanding and appreciation of such a special place. He was friendly, informative and clearly passionate about the history of the site, answering our questions and making the whole tour interesting from beginning to end. Everything with TreXperience was well organised, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience and take in one of the most amazing places we have ever visited. Karen and I absolutely loved our time at Machu Picchu. A huge thank you to Roberto and TreXperience for making such an important part of our trip to Peru even more memorable.
Had a wonderful Machu Picchu tour with Roberto. He met us at the top, after the bus ride, and as soon as we stepped off, guided us to the line for our particular circuit. As we made our way through the citadel, he provided great information on everything you could see, both in the Machu Picchu citadel and the surrounding mountains. He was fantastic with photos and knew of a lot of good spots to stop and take a few. The tour ran at our pace, so if we wanted to stop for a photo, it was never a problem, or if we had further questions on a particular area, we could take our time and learn more. Machu Picchu itself is an amazing place, and Roberto helped make it extra special with his guidance. Highly recommend Roberto for a tour of Machu Picchu.

Our experience at Machu Picchu was absolutely incredible and something we’ll never forget. The site itself was even more beautiful and surreal than we could have imagined, and having such a great guide made the experience even more special. Our guide, Samuel, was fantastic from start to finish. He provided so much interesting information about the history, culture, and significance of Machu Picchu, which really helped bring the site to life. He was also incredibly patient and was always happy to take photos for us, making sure we had plenty of memories to take home. Most importantly, the tour never felt rushed—we were able to take our time, appreciate the scenery, and truly enjoy the experience. Samuel was also extremely helpful beyond the tour itself and gave us a great recommendation for lunch afterward, which ended up being another highlight of the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend Samuel to anyone visiting Machu Picchu. He made an already unforgettable place even more memorable!
We had Samuel as our tour guide for Machu Picchu and we had the best experience thanks to him. His wealth of knowledge about the site brought it all to life and explained everything in great detail and answered all our questions. Samuel was also very patient and allowed the tour to go at our own pace. I was travelling with my 82 year old father and he kept reassuring us to take our time and not to rush, even when I was taking photos and videos he was telling me to take my time, made the experience feel very relaxed and easygoing. I cannot recommend him enough, this tour was a highlight of our whole South America trip.
We had a brilliant time. We went on two days for two different routes and our guide Roberto was fantastic on both days. We enjoyed his guidance so much on the first day we requested he would be our guide for the next. The cost is really great value for the day. Each tour took between 1.5-2 hours but it depends on how many pictures you take / want. The second day was a bit quicker as we had some of the intro talk done on the first. We met Roberto up in the cafe, arranged through what’s app the day before, as we already were doing another route before hand (panoramic so didn’t need a guide). But you can get them to meet you at the hotel and navigate the bus line system (watch out if you do it yourself, the one further down the hill is the next time slot one). He took us back down the hill with the bus and also recommended a great restaurant to go to. We might go back a again and do the inka trail with them!
Our guide Roberto was fantastic! Ahead of our visit Roberto had been in touch to arrange to meet us at our hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable and took some great pictures. He is obviously very passionate about the history of Macha Picchu, I’m sure if we had done the tour without a guide we would have missed a lot! We chose this experience based on earlier reviews and we were not disappointed!
We loved our experience. Sammy was incredible. He was knowledgeable and also a great photographer! I highly recommend.
Roberto was a great private guide. Tons of knowledge, took great photos of us, and overall a professional genuine person. Would recommend to anyone visiting Machu Picchu or any of his other tours.

Booked the Salkantay trek with Trexperience and they organised our guide for Machu Picchu after! Our Guide was great! Punctual, knowledgable, experienced and knew the best spots for photo ops! We had the best time at Machu Picchu thanks to Roberto!
My 9 year old and I recently toured Machu Pichu Circuit 1 with Roberto and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to experience MP at your own pace. I was very concerned I and/or my son wouldn’t be able to keep up with a group tour and I was correct; the number of stairs and unevenness of stairs in Circuit 1 is no joke! Roberto was very kind in encouraging us to rest when needed and offering a hand or shoulder to help me up and down the stone steps. LOL I’m also scared of heights so sometimes he had to assist me just when I got nervous. He was very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and had a partner come to our hotel and guide us onto the bus to Aguas Caliente.
Señor Roberto was amazing, enjoying Machu Picchu experience with him.
Our guide Roberto Carpio was amazing.
Samuel was punctual, pleasant, and very knowledgeable. The visit to Machu Picchu was hugely improved with the information he provided through the tour.
Amazing experience, made the day even more special. Roberto knew all the places to get good photos and was very enthusiastic to take them for us. We learnt a lot. Totally recommend having such a personal experience at such an incredible place!
Incredible experience, well worth the money. Our guide Roberto gave us loads of information and made the history come to life. He was patient and offered loads of pictures of us, knowing all the good spots to take them. He was really friendly and knew so much about Machu Picchu. Couldn't recommend this highly enough!
Our guide Roberto was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, patient and gave us an excellent time at Machu Picchu. We were inside for about 2-3 hours and he allowed us to have breaks as he provided information. He knew the best photo spots and even took a few photos of us. At the end of our tour, he recommended a restaurant with great value and yummy food. I highly recommend!
There was a bit of chaos with the fire next to the train to Machu Picchu, but Roberto did his best to make this experience unforgettable! He gave us a lot of information about Machu Picchu and its history. ( also a lot of fun facts). He also gave us a lot of opportunities to take pictures and enjoy the view. We left the mountain with a great feeling! After the tour he made sure we got on the train safely. Wonderful experience! Would recommend!!!!
Spent two hours with Roberto at Machu Picchu learning all about the history how this place was found and how the Inkan lived there. He answered all of our questions and made sure that we found the best photo opportunities.
The trip was wonderful, smooth every step of the way, and staff very communicative (important because it’s a long and complicated journey)! Our guide, Roberto, was excellent, and we really enjoyed Circuit 1 (it helped that Roberto took tons of great pictures for us)! Would highly recommend.
Wonderful visit with Samuel!
Roberto our tour guide was absolutely incredible. Obviously you ride a high being there but he was so knowledgeable, extremely friendly and could be a professional photographer. Dream come true
We enjoyed our guide, Jacob. He was great!! His english was great and he shared great information. He was very personal and we would take him on all of our travels!
Roberto was a good who explained everything very well about the Machu Picchu. Meeting in Aguas Calientes was very easy. As a plus Roberto took some really good pictures of us…
Guide Roberto was well experienced, knowledgeable, helpful and nice.
Greg was a fantastic tour guide! He met us at our hotel in Aguas Calientes and provided a very fascinating and thorough tour of MP’s circuit 2. We mentioned we were doing circuit 3 afterwards and he was flexible for both our start and end times and provided an overview of some circuit 3 sites, as well. Great experience all around and would highly recommend!
