We had an amazing experience from pick up at the hotel, riding a train, pick up at the train station and guided to take a bus until we got together with our guide Harold, who was amazing explaining and answering our questions. We can only highly recommend this company (Kantu Peru Tours)

This was such a great experience! Start to finish, every logistical detail was covered. There was someone helping us every step of the way and we had a full itenerary for us detailing out all our transportation methods. Excellent price given all the tickets and logistics involved. Would recommend to anyone going to visit Machu Picchu!
Amazing trip. We were so lucky to have such a great day. Warm and clear. We did the Circuit 3, and frankly didn't notice a difference from the Circuit 2 expereince and Circuit 3 is considerably cheaper. The train ride to Aguas Calientes is breathtaking. Starting in The Sacred Valley, going through the "Cloud Forest" and finally into the jungle where Machu Picchu sits. We did the Vista Dome package. Highly recommend.
Harold was a knowledgeable guide and he made the experience comfortable; even helping us with lovely photos at specific spots. Definitely recommend!
It was most informative using a tour guide. We used a private tour guide, Wilbuir and he was extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient. It's a lot of walking on uneven stones.
I travelled to Machu Picchu with some friends this past September. We happened to be there during the train strikes, leaving us stranded in aguas calientes. It was definitely a bit of a stressful time to be visiting, as we weren’t sure how we were getting back to Cusco, our bags got lost, etc. In spite of these challenges, Kantu guided us through the process, ensuring we got on a train to ollantaytambo, a van was waiting for us, and our bags were at our hotel in Cusco. All of this after a mesmerizing two day tour of Machu Picchu. Kantu was great, but the shining star was Christian - he is an incredible tour guide. Knowledgeable, supportive (as I struggled through the hike), kind, helpful, and 100 percent committed to showing us all that Peru had to offer. Without a doubt, ask for Christian as your guide!! He really was the highlight of the tour for all four of us.
My private Machu Picchu tour with Kantu Tours was perfect from start to finish. The driver was on time, professional, and very safe on the winding roads, and the overall logistics were seamless. Everything ran smoothly and we were able to relax and just enjoy the beauty of Machu Picchu. Highly recommend Kantu Tours for anyone looking for a reliable, well-organized private experience! They took care of the circuit booking and even dropped off my tickets the day before to my hotel. Incredible attention to detail so I could relax and enjoy.
The trip around Machu Picchu was total amazing and Samuel was brilliant. Not often you go to a place which has such high expectations in your mind and then it blows your mind. Minor amendments to organisation and communication of the days events could have been slightly better but the visit was brilliant
This was our first experience in Cusco, and everything went perfectly. We were picked up right outside our hotel and taken to the train station, where they explained clearly which train we needed to take. On the train, we were given snacks, which made the journey feel special and enjoyable. The ride itself was very smooth and relaxing. Once we arrived, there was someone already waiting for us to guide us through the process — explaining which bus to take, which line to join, and making sure everything was organized. The staff even checked our bus number to confirm that our guide was already waiting for us at Machu Picchu. At Machu Picchu, our guide greeted us and explained which circuit we would follow. He was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the history in detail, taking photos for us, and allowing us plenty of time to enjoy each section at our own pace. He was very patient, even resting with us when the altitude became a bit challenging. After the visit, the guide stayed with us in the long line for the bus back, making sure everything went smoothly. He even gave us recommendations on where to eat afterwards. Later, we boarded the return train, and once we arrived, our driver was waiting to take us back to the hotel. The timing was perfect from beginning to end — no delays at all. Overall, visiting Machu Picchu with this team was an incredible experience, and I would highly recommend it.
Absolutely incredible, cannot recommend enough! I planned a surprise proposal for my girlfriend and they did everything possible to make it a memory we will never forget. Went above and beyond, helped coordinate a surprise photographer, romantic lunch, the works. Each guide, driver was so friendly and knowledgable. Communications before the trip to help coordinate were also amazing. I am so grateful to them :)
Really well organized tour. The train ride was magical. The tour guide was knowledgeable and patient. Went in the afternoon and the crowd wasn’t bad at all. Definitely recommend!
On-time pickup. Smooth transfers between van & train. Miguel was super passionate, friendly & very knowledgeable. He took great pictures. Fantastic all-day tour!
Kantu Tours is reliable. The tour was fairly complicated, with a long drive to the station, then the train journey and finally a half hour bus ride up the mountain. However, Franklin at Kantu Tours was available on Whatsapp every step of the way, to communicate with the guides/drivers and ensure that the trip ran smoothly. Machu Picchu is absolutely stunning.
This tour is a hand off from person to person not 1 person throughout a very long day. Ronald was our driver and on time from Cusco hotel to train 1 1/2 hr and return 1 1/2 hr. Pick a meeting place before exiting car. English very difficult for him; walk down hill pass all vendors and show tickets. If you are Vistadome on Perurail go all the down to nice garden area with clean bathrooms. Train is 1 1/2 hours each way. After exiting train in Agua Calientes you will meet another person outside of train fence; we has Lisa and sweet son meet us. She took us to the line for the bus; an hour wait so be prepared with hat and sunscreen! Big groups will try to bully you back; stand your ground and tell them you would be happy to go in front of their group 😜Lisa worked a miracle and found another couple with same tour company that we joined and move 1/2 way up👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Then once on the bus it takes almost an hour to go up the switchbacks. Be prepared for a lot of people! Bathrooms on bus level and cost 2 soles (she broke a 100 for me). Go up stairs and find your guide; ours was Rebeka. If you have been to Machu Picchu before it has all changed 😢in the last year. There are 3 circuits and I do not know how you choose but we got circuit 2; the best with most famous view. We bought tour 8 months out. There are only 8 llamas now as 7 years ago there were a lot of wild ones roaming the citadel. The govt added one way paths with steps so very busy. Not the spiritual experience of 7 years ago. All IG posers. Rebeka knows her stuff and was very compassionate with me as feeling nauseated with the heat so stopped for breaks. At the end she stayed with us in the bus line to go down the Mtn another hour wait. Once back in Agua calientes she showed us train station for our return. Waldir WhatsApp me to come in to office and I questioned why, no answer. Our days are packed so didn’t understand the importance of office visit. Uber over for cheap but this is where you get ALL your tickets; hard copies! Plan on 6am to 8:30pm day.
We were supposed to be met at the train station when we arrived in the town of Machu Picchu. Our train was late - nobody’s fault. Our greeter was absent but many other greeters were there with signs. I had to call the office to get someone to show up. By the time she (not English speaking) arrived to escort us to the line was huge causing us to be 1 hour late for our ticket time. Our guide was great but again, no sign with our name to great us. When we finished we didn’t have enough time to get something to eat to make the train on time. We got to the station to find the train was 45 minutes late to leave. Then the train broke down. The miscue at the town was the disappointing part. The rest was fine.
Had a great experience with Kantu Peru Tours for a private tour of Machu Picchu. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the coordinator communicated very well.
The 2.5 hrs inside Machu Piccu historical area were fabulous. Our guide took us to many areas for photos and archeological perspectives. I would not recommend the full day from Cusco due to the hassle of car to train to bus, this was stressful and prone to error. Kantu tours did a good job of spacing out the travel tickets, but it is a very long day of travel. If we did this again I would suggest an overnight stay closer to the park since the driven from Cusco 2 ways is punishing.
Scenic train ride Breathaking site with informative English-speaking guide to bring it life Tour was tailored to the mobility & interests of our group Well organised day - not having to worry about anything (car pickup, train tickets, entrance fees, etc)
Kantu Tours made this entire experience as convenient as possible. Raul picked us up at our hotel at the scheduled time and brought us to and from Ollantaytambo (where we took the train to Machu Picchu). The train was comfortable and the stewards offered us great snacks, drinks, and knowledge throughout the journey. Our tour guide, Harold, then picked us up at Machu Picchu and took us on the tour. He was very knowledgeable and anticipated many of our questions. He was kind enough to offer to take plenty of photos for us throughout the tour and took us to the best spots to take the best photos. Overall, we had a fantastic day and we highly recommend it! Hoping we are able to go on this tour again with our extended family and are able to have Harold as our tour guide once again! Many thanks, Kantu Tours, Waldir, and team!
Despite the high cost, the tour proved to be well worth the price. Navigating the journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu involves multiple steps and is not an easy trip to plan independently. However, this tour greatly enhanced convenience. The company demonstrated professionalism by calling a day ahead to brief participants on the entire process. Overall, it was a highly worthwhile investment, making the trip enjoyable and entirely stress-free.
Will start the review by saying the tour itself was very good. Our driver (Saul) was great and our tour guide (Edgar) at Machu Picchu was very informative and took lots of pictures for us. However, I can’t recommend Kantu Tours. A day following our booking we were contacted to tell us the slot we had booked was no longer available and that all morning slots to Machu Picchu were sold out - despite them telling us that they were still selling morning tours for our date. We reluctantly accepted the afternoon tour which I do not recommend as it means having an 11am lunch and then nothing until you arrive back at Cusco at 10pm. The fact we had paid over $80 more per person to choose Kantu Tours over other Viator tours because they had the earlier slots was completely ignored by Kantu. We agreed on a on 8am pickup from our hotel only for the day before the trip to be changed to 7am with mo explanation until queried which they then blamed the train operator for, the only option was to accept the change or pay extra for an upgraded train. Overall it wasn’t a great experience until the tour itself which went smoothly but would not use Kantu Tours again.
First of all, the tour arrangement was done very smoothly by Waldir from Kantu Tours. The correspondence was easy and he was very responsive. He suggested the 2 days tour that included Sacred Valley - I was glad we took this tour as both days were amazing. The tour provided us with all the necessary tickets printed and in order for easy use. Everything was well organised - there was always someone to pick us up so I didn't have to worry finding transport or getting lost. For Machu Picchu tour itself, it was fantastic. The tour guide, Ederth was very patient. He didn't rush us at any point of time even when we wanted to wait at the viewing point for the fog to clear so we could get a nice picture of Machu Picchu. Instead, he told us a lot of stories while we waited. He also helped us to take a lot of good pictures. We ended up spending almost 4 hours at Machu Picchu which was really worth the time!! Overall the whole tour was amazing. It saved us a lot of trouble of arranging our own trip. Will definitely recommend Kantu Tours if you're planning to visit Machu Picchu! :)
Very professional and organised private tour. Everything was as it should have been. Well planned, articulate contact, clean transport, enthusiastic professional guide. I was very impressed and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Kantu again if returning to Peru.
We were very pleased with our experience with Kantu Peru Tours!! Our driver, Ruben, was punctual, friendly, and eager to answer our questions. The office called us the day before to clarify any questions and make sure we had the plans and time frames set for the trains and the tour. Our tour guide Herald was amazing, super friendly, and very accommodating. His commentary was beyond expectation and he was very creative with the camera...but also he know precisely where all the great photo spots were. We did circuit 3 with the Montana Machu Picchu option, and we would do it again in an heartbeat. Lunch at Julian-Sami Restaurant was absolutely delicious with native Peruvian Food. The view was right on the river and our server, Sol, was also very friendly, personable, and attentive. We took two different trains and both were great experiences! Our afternoon train was a lot of fun and included a drink and a snack, music and dancing, and a really fun fashion show! THANK YOU Kantu Peru Tours... we highly recommend you!
We learned a lot on our tour from our tour guide, Harold. The Peru Rail was a neat experience, minus getting motion sickness on the ride back. Our private driver, Bruce, from/to Cusco was so nice and we felt very safe. Waldir did a good job communicating all the instructions for the tour. Overall it was a great experience and we were really happy to get to visit Machu Picchu!
If you’re planning on visiting Machu Picchu, you really need to book well in advance. We chose Kantu because they had very good reviews. They kept in touch, contacting us two weeks ahead to plan our meet up, and we were very satisfied with their service. We chose a one-day trip option of being driven to the train station at Ollantaytambo, then taking the scenic train ride to Machu Picchu. The car and driver were excellent, we were picked up from the train and taken to the bus to the top of Machu Picchu, and the guide met us at the entrance to the site. The guide, Harold, was very professional and knowledgeable. All in all, we had a good time. It’s a tiring day, but definitely worth it. If I was booking it again, I would book Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley in one trip, to avoid having to go in and out of Cusco twice.
Not cheap but everything was first class. The driver who took us to and from our hotel, the train, the restaurant, the guide at Machu Picchu. And Machu Picchu itself was breathtaking. Would definitely recommend.
Harold was awesome!! You can feel the pride he has for his culture and enjoys providing it to others. He made our trip to Machu Picchu enjoyable and I highly recommend him and this tour to others!
Amazing experience. 5/5. Could not ask for anything better! Everyone was professional. Would always remember this trip!
We had a wonderful experience with Kantu Peru Tours and the Machu Picchu private experience. The driver was very prompt and polite, and the guide (Karol) was incredible. I wasn’t feeling very well that day, unfortunately, and he was very patient and allowed us to take our time. Everything was well-organized and made it very easy for us to navigate. The lunch was delicious, also, with a beautiful view. The hats that we got at the end were a nice personal touch, too! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
The experience was incredible. The transportation was very relaxing as we had a private tour . The driver was extremely nice and attentive . Our guide Ronaldo was extremely knowledgeable, had excellent picture skills and overall made sure all of our questions were answered. Definitely booking again with them if we come back to Peru .
Highly recommend this tour! Everyone was extremely nice, on time AND we felt really cared for the entire day. We chose the 8 am pickup time for context. There were a lot of small touches that really made the whole day seamless like our itinerary, and tickets for the moving pieces — everything was well thought out and incredibly convenient. Our driver who picked us up and dropped us off was so kind and a safe driver. Lunch was delicious - we got a main and dessert and the restaurant was stellar. Our tour guide, Karol, was spectacular. Extremely passionate, knowledgeable and engaging our entire tour throughout Machu Picchu. We learned so much from him! It was also just a really special experience to not have a big group and go at our own pace throughout the site. I cannot thank the Kantu Peru tours team enough. Everyone was helpful, kind, responsive, and amazing for this once in a lifetime and unforgettable experience. I seriously recommend anyone visiting Machu Picchu to book this tour!!
This was a fantastic day and so well organised! Miguel met us promptly at 08:00 outside our hotel, was caring and considerate of our needs. The train and bus transfers were smooth, service and understanding of language differences were well managed - we honestly felt cared for like we were the only people on the tour. A special thank you for Harold who went ABOVE and BEYOND for us as a tour guide and took us through the site at Machu Pichu with many spots to stop, take photos, discuss the history and culture and to even stop and have a snack! Harold answered all of our questions and helped us feel like we got to know so much more - thank you for making it feel like a friend was taking us through.
We had a wonderful day at Machu Picchu. The organization and communication was perfect. Our tour guide, Julio, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained the area thoroughly and was great with our numerous questions. His info helped put the history into context for us. Julio was also a wonderful photographer. We got a lot more pictures (and really nice pictures) than we otherwise would have. It was also nice having the lunch restaurant already selected (and paid), so we didn't have to figure out where to eat when we got back to Aguas Calientes. The food was very good. It was a great tour!
Very well run trip, tours were on time, no issues with any tickets or transportation. Tour guide at Machu Picchu was very knowledgeable. Incredible journey.
The arrangement and operations were very professional and organised. Tour guide in Machu Picchu, Karol, was very nice and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience
Everything has gone great for us. The agency was always very communicative about all my doubts, they gave us all the details of everything that was going to happen before starting the tours. The guide that accompanied us knew very well all the history of the archaeological sites and on top of that he took very good photos of us. We had a small problem with the train due to the rain, but the agency handled everything very professionally and left us calm and assured that our tour was guaranteed. I recommend this agency to everyone.
We had a wonderful day with the team and it was all planned so very good. From the pickup in the morning until we were brought back to the hotel. The communication via WhatsApp worked great and with fast reaction. The car we where picked up with was new and the driver was very friendly and drove very safe. Special thanks also to our guide Harold. He explained a lot during our 2 hours at Machu Picchu and knew all the good spots for photos. We booked another tour with them the next day.
Wonderful driver, tour, and travel coordination. Learned in great detail about Incan history and the story of Machu Picchu.
A beautiful day full of joy. Incredible experience. Powerful energy. Professional team. Highly recommend this agency to feel safe and not worry about anything.
Our tour guide Carlo was the best! Definitely recommend! So nice to have a private tour and the vista dome train ride was so much fun!
Thank you so much we have had a wonderful unbelievable experience private one day trip tour to Machu Picchu since started from pickup at our hotel to drop off at train station until arrived to train station at Machu Picchu, pick up from Machu Picchu to reached to the bus and arrived to the entrance to met our guide tour (with fantastic photography skills). 2 hours during the tour with all information we have learned is was unforgettable. After finished the tour we had a local lunch in Machu Picchu town, food was fantastic then ride back to Cusco with a wonderful experience. 10/10 for organization from started until finished the tour (arrived to the hotel). Merci merci :-)
The restaurant was great! The only stressful part was the local bus to Machu Picchu, but they have to a lot of people so be prepared. Our private driver’s were great. At the end of the day, this is an experience you will never forget. Lastly, take the altitude sickness seriously. We only had two people get sick. Luckily our hotel (Hilton Cusco) provides free oxygen to their guests. So they were fine within a hour.
Karol is a great Tour guide and our driver Joan is exceptional. We really enjoyed this tour. Great lunch as well
Ver well organized tour. We got to do everything we expected out of the tour smoothly. Would highly recommend this trip!
AMAZING! Christian was a fantastic guide. It was a seamless experience - start to finish. Thank you to the whole Kantu team!! Our driver was on time & efficient, the prep was excellent. It was a perfect day!
Guaranteed Machu Picchu tickets, paid in advance... that is what I purchased from Viator and had them confirmed. So my daughter flew 3400 miles to Lima in route to Cusco. While in Lima one and a half days before the trip I received call informing me that we did not have tickets but could travel 4 hours from Cusco and wait in line 6 hours the first day and 6 hours the second day and not get in. Left without seeing MP! Viator sold me tickets they did not have! Terrible experience. BE AWARE !
From beginning to end, the excursion was smooth and professional. We were made to feel special. Communication prior to the event was prompt and informative. Really, everything was just perfect. Juan was a phenomenal guide. Our transportation was too notch.
Great communication, tour was planned perfectly and pickup drop offs were seamless. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient while we took pictures.
Knowledge and passionate team from the office staff to the drivers, and of course the guides. We had other excursions that were more adventurous but nothing tops the majesty of Machu Picchu. Buys going on several guided trips but save Machu Picchu for last. You’ll appreciate the lower altitude and tropical flora. Our trip came with an awesome lunch in Aguas Calientes. Definitely worth the extra cost and easily done in one day.
