Machu Picchu Full Day Trip From Cusco

The Machu Picchu guide provided by TreXperience was great and very knowledgeable, but the company’s customer service and booking practices were extremely disappointing. During pre-booking on WhatsApp, the sales rep promised our choice of hotel in Aguas Calientes (4 months prior) and custom entry times for Machu Picchu. Once booked, none of these commitments were honored, and we were placed in a different hotel that suited them. When we raised concerns during our trip, the sales representative was rude, evasive, and unhelpful. Takeaway: Do not trust verbal or WhatsApp promises from their sales team. If it isn't explicitly written into your formal confirmation document, they will not honor it. If specific choices matter to you, look elsewhere.

We had a 3-day tour with Juan Miranda on Cusco city, Sacred valley and Machu Picchu. Juan was always kind, helpful and attentive to our needs. He is extremely knowledgeable in Inca history, and showed us pre-Inca traces throughout the tour. We were captivated and was well informed by his explanations, which were also accompanied by a book with pictures. Juan was extremely organized in providing us with all the information regarding train and bus tickets and restaurants ahead of time. We enjoyed our trip very much!! Highly recommend Juan to be the guide.

My daughter & I went on an Amazon jungle expedition, & had one day to visit Machu Picchu before heading home. I read the description of this tour on Get Your Guide. It provided all the transportation & tickets we needed to visit the site. Our guide Eduardo met us at the entry gate & accompanied us through the site for our 3 hour tour, providing a detailed history of the world wonder. He also recommended a fabulous place for lunch in the town at the conclusion of the tour. I highly recommend this one day tour if you are pressed for time!

We loved our day trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Everything was perfectly planned and we had someone to help us throughout the entire experience! The best part of our trip with our guide David. He gave us an extremely in-depth tour of Machu Picchu. Was very interesting and kept up with all our crazy questions!

Royer and Valdi were excellent hosts throughout the entire trek experience of 4 days and 3 nights to Machu Picchu. I was very pleased with the porters, chefs, and everyone that organized the trek. Thank you very much for an incredible experience.

Incredible scenery and wonderful breakfast and lunch on the way up the mountain, but be aware the air is very thin and the climb is not easy, i am 68 and my partner 63 we both found it very tough going, but getting to the peak and seeing Machu Picchu was worth the struggle

Had a memorable 2 days in Machu Picchu! Roger and Rosa were our guide, atrentive, kind, knowledgeable. The short Inca Trail hike into Machu Picchu is the way to first experience the sight. Chef Sinchi prepared an incredible lunch during the hike. We loved our whole trip. Thank you Roger/Rosa and TreXperience!

We had a great full-day tour to Machu Picchu. Everything was smooth from the start, with a guide helping us on the bus from the hotel and train to Aguas Calientes, and then another guide Elias took over. Elias was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and kind. He explained the history of Machu Picchu in a clear and engaging way, made sure everyone was comfortable, and kept a great pace throughout the visit. He was also very patient, answered all our questions, and went out of his way to show us the best viewpoints and photo spots. His passion was contagious!! Highly recommend this tour, and especially Elias as a guide!

Fredy is a fantastic tour guide - a wealth of local knowledge and experience he shares. From history to local plants and sights. As a guide he goes at "your pace". He speaks multiple languages, English very well. The tour I took thru TreXperience was the Machu Picchu climb up Machu Picchu Mountain. 2000ft climb of endless Inca stairs; but spectacular, thru tropical forests with native plants, birds, and animals. Then a tour round Machu Picchu at the end Fredy is very fit, and we went steadily up with breaks for scenery, water, etc. The climb to the peak is rated at 4hrs return, and you must be fit to do it. Having a guide was great as he pointed out the sights, history, as we climbed. Not just a "peak bagging" hike Fredy is an experience guide on longer routes too

The tour was very well organized, they divided us in small groups of 2/3 people and our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Machu Picchu. Strongly recommended!

The booking process with Trexperience was really smooth, we did everything via WhatsApp and PayPal, the booking staff were very helpful. Katia our guide on the day was incredibly knowledgeable, we learned so much. It was actually my second time at Machu Picchu and I learned way more with Katia than I did a few years ago with another company. Definitely would recommend.

Highly recommend this trip! Everything was organised for us, from the hotel pickup, to the rein to Machu Picchu and the final bus up. All we had to do was get were picked up from our hotel and enjoy the trip! Our guide, Katia Duran, though Machu Picchu was excellent and incredibly knowledgable, she was amazing. She even negotiated with the park ranger to ensure we got to climb Montaña Waynapicchu when we were a little delayed arriving at the entrance to the hike making us the last to climb the mountain! Without her we would not have gotten to do this fun hike so it was very appreciated!!

Our guide Filio made the trip exceptional. He took care of everything, navigated us through all of the steps and gates and trains to get a smooth and pleasurable experience. His knowledge of Machu Picchu and the history was next level, and his personality was so charming, funny, and full of vip and vigor! We can’t say enough about him and would recommend him as a guide with 5 stars!

The day trip was great I enjoyed the punctuality of the team especially the the guide Jennifer who picked us up from the hotel to machupicchu. The site was great and Jennifer explained the history behind the place and went beyond the history to discuss the Peruvian culture past and present which augmented the experience The overall itinerary was good but after the trail tour and lunch we had to wait two hours to get back to Cusco which defeated the idea of taking a private tour to manage our day efficiently. I hope the organisers will take note of this. Thanks to all involved

If you’re going to Machu Picchu and you don’t tour with Filio you’re basically choosing the “black-and-white TV” version of the experience instead of full cinematic IMAX in color. From the very first moment, Filio radiated warmth, confidence, and that rare gift of storytelling that makes history feel alive. Machu Picchu isn’t just beautiful—it’s enigmatic—and somehow our guide made the stones speak. Every terrace, temple, and pathway came with context, meaning, and a sense of wonder that turned the entire day into something I’ll be talking about for years.

From start to finish TreXperience was communicative and professional. The trip was well planned and they made transport up to and back to Machu Picchu seamless. Our guide, Toro, was exceptional. He brought expertise and educated us on the history, all the while keeping it fun and entertaining. He made sure we captured all of the classic photo ops and took the pictures for us—amazing! I felt at ease the whole trip and couldn’t recommend TreXperience more for guided tours.

Best experience with Katia , she gave us her perspective, historical context and so many fun facts along the way. I would never suggest seeing Machu Picchu without a guide- so many historically significant items (sun dials, compasses made of rock, and fun facts along the way the average person blows by).

Totally worth it the whole experience. Transportation was very effective, and the train ride beautiful .Wilbert was absolutely amazing. He clearly knew the history and details inside out, and his explanations made the entire visit so much more meaningful. He went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything and truly enjoyed the experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

From Cusco, it took us five hours from our hotel lobby to walking into Machu Picchu. At first, the level of service was lacking. We were picked up in a large van. It was full and the seats were small. This is for the next 80ish minutes. I refer to these as cattle vans or cattle busses. At the train station, we had a table, but my wife's ticket was next to the window and I was across from her on the isle - both of us with strangers next to us. Not the end of the world, but that was an easy fix had the person buying the tickets paid attention. The part about getting breakfast and shopping- yeah, don't expect that. Hurry up, get in line, and wait. This isn't a reflection on the travel company - it's the nature of one of the 7th wonders being so remote. From there, Wilbur came into the scene. He was phenomenal! If it weren't for Wilbur, this would have been a 3 star rather than a 4 star. He is very knowledgeable and passionate. After 4ish hours, we get back to get some lunch and then repeat the process going home. After the train ride, we were greeted by the driver taking us back to Cusco. Just four of us this time with a spacious van. I already had Uber pulled up if I saw the cattle van was waiting for us. For $45, we would have taken an Uber. As a point of clarification, this is a small group private tour.

It was a long day, with a lot of travelling, but our guide, Roberto, was extremely helpful and friendly. He looked after us very well and gave us a lot of interesting information, both at Machu Picchu and along the way. He even took photos of us on his own phone and sent them to us afterwards.

I did the one day trip from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu with my tour guide Roberto. The trip was everything I could ask for and I felt completely taken care of as a solo traveler. Roberto was incredible and gave a detailed description of Circuit 2 in Machu Picchu. He also helped me in getting the bus tickets and the train tickets back to Cusco. I highly recommend trexperience and especially Roberto if you’re going on a solo trip to Machu Picchu

Romario was an excellent guide, highly recommended. Our group was not an easy one: 3 generations travelling together: from 9 to 81 years, including two teens. He was patient, waited and was very much ok answering questions from young and ..the less young. We did Circuit 2, and very happy with it. All and all, an excellent trip.

We had some trouble with TreXperience at first. They didn’t contact us about the booking confirmation or the tickets until the very last hours and we had to ask them to send the information. We visited their office in Cusco the night before the trip and a very kind lady Janet helped us to get our tickets. The actual day of the trip went excellent. Our drivers were polite and on time. Most importantly our tour guide Cesar was amazing. He told us lots of history about Machu Picchu, took many pictures of us and spent even the lunch with us. Additionally, he gave us tips about the town of Aguas Calientes and always made sure we are doing good.

Our guide Miguel was amazing, knowledgeable, and accommodating and really turned our experience around. Before the trip began, we had to initiate contact with the office multiple times to get information regarding our trip (such as messaging at 9pm to find out what time we needed to be at the train station the following day- turned out to be 7am.... We then needed to reach out in the morning because they never provided our tickets....) Things like that happened multiple times, but Miguel was extremely helpful once we actually began the trip.

Roberto Carpio was our tour guide, he guided us to Machu Pichu which was great. Learned not only the history of Machu Pichu but also the culture of quecuan people. It was one of a life experience.

Roberto orosco was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and made the tour more fun than it already was. We got lucky with the weather but it is worth seeing no matter what time of year. 10/10

Amazing experience. We did the 6:30am tour which was nice since it got a lot busier during the next time slot. Our tour guide Roberto was great, very professional, personable & spoke good English which was a plus for us Americans. We also got lucky with the weather, about 60 degrees and mostly sunny. Our entire 4 days from cusco to Machu Picchu ran very smoothly. Overall incredible experience and recocomend TreXperience to anyone interested.

The communications from the staff was spot on ! The bus ride was very exciting , don’t plan on sleeping !! The train was perfect with a raging river and vast Mountain View’s ! From Janet organizing the trip to Roberto leading us on a very informative 2 circuit hikes ! We did C2 and then climbed to the peak of 3100m(10,000+ feet ).. We had such an incredible tour with Roberto. We were very lucky to have gotten beautiful weather and we were able to admire the stunning views of Machu Picchu and the adorable dogs. Roberto was extremely knowledgable and it was an honor to learn more about Inca culture and traditions from him. This tour was incredibly easy - TreXperience took care of all the details to get us from one location to the next and Roberto was able to recommend some tasty lunch spots in Aguas Calientes so we enjoyed a delicious meal to top the day off.

First of all, your excursion is only as good as your guide. Well this excursion we had the best, Filio. His knowledge of Machu Picchu was excellent, explaining the rituals and the history of the Inca civilization. He ran the tour at a very comfortable pace and took very good care of us, including recommending a local restaurant for a delicious lunch, and making sure we got back to the train station. We highly recommend Filio as a tour guide at Machu Picchu. His knowledge and passion for his heritage makes you a real part of the journey back in time. Trexperience was excellent in handling all the details which included bus and train bookings. It was a memorable, interesting and fascinating experience!
