We had the most incredible experience. As a family of 4 with 2 young daughters (ages 7 and 5) we knew we would only be able to handle a single day trip. We were picked up early in the AM from our hotel in Cusco and driven to Ollantaytambo in a private taxi. Our driver was incredibly nice and was clearly very familiar with the roads. We felt very safe. We were dropped off at the train station in Ollantaytambo with enough time to use the restroom and buy some bug spray, without having to wait very long. We rode the Inca Rail to Agua Caliente. The ride was beautiful and the train was very enjoyable! Our transport was completely handled by our tour guide without any issues. Once we got to Agua Caliente, we were able to easily find our guide at the train station! We walked a short distance to the bus stop. The bus took us (and our guide) to Machu Picchu. Our guide was AMAZING!! The perfect combination of educational talks/history, picture taking and fun! After the perfect amount of time exploring circuit 3 of Machu Picchu, we took the bus back down to Agua Caliente. We had 2 hours to have a nice lunch (a lot of great options) and explore. We took the train back to Ollantaytambo without issue where we were immediately met by our driver for our drive back to Cusco. It was a long day but it was perfect. Our daughters had a wonderful day. We would 100% use MINKA’s travel again and recommend them to any of our friends who are traveling to Peru! Thank you!!!

A convenient way to see Machu Pichu from Cusco for travellers on a tight schedule. Organisation on the day was very good with a car ride from Cusco to Ollantaytambo then onto Peru rail to Agua Callientes with a final 30 minute bus ride up to gates of Machu Picchu. Without the guide meeting us from the train in Agua Callientes to get to the sure bus we would have missed our allocated entrance slot to Machu Picchu. We had an entrance slot between 8-9. This also meant a very early start from Cusco with pick up at 4.00am. The downside of doing thus trip from Cusco was that while it was advertised as duration of 11-13 hours we were in fact 19 hours. A very long day with too much free time in Agua Callientes. I can only assume return tickets on Peru rail were not booked early hence limited availability for earlier return journeys to Ollytaytambo. The two other participants on this trip booked two days beforehand.

This was the best tour. Julio was great from start to finish. He knew a lot about Machu Picchu, but explained everything in a relaxed and interesting way, not like a rehearsed lecture. He was patient, easy to talk to, and made sure we stopped at the best spots for pictures. He also took some really good photos of us. We had an amazing day and would definitely recommend him.

We had a stress-free and amazing experience with this day trip. The operator came to our hotel to explain how the day would work, booked everything in advance and gave us all the information we needed to make the day go seamlessly. The driver who picked us up was prompt, drove safely and we even ended up early for our train, which had wonderful views as well. Our guide Luis at Machu Picchu was so knowledgeable and explained everything we wanted to know, and was a great photographer too! We booked two circuits to maximise our time at Machu Picchu and they arranged it so that we could go one after the other and then take our train back without delay but just enough time to pick up lunch. It was straightforward and let us have lots of fun throughout the long day.

This full-day Machu Picchu tour from Cusco was truly the experience of a lifetime. I booked it last minute in June during peak season after finding out tickets on the official website were sold out for months, and somehow everything worked out perfectly. It ended up being one of the best days of my life. It was definitely a long day, but every single minute was worth it. Everything was so well organized from start to finish. The transportation, transfers, timing, and communication were seamless, so I never had to worry about anything. Our guide, Julio, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and made exploring Machu Picchu even more memorable. He answered every question I had, shared so many interesting stories about the site, and even took a ton of photos for me that turned out Instagram-worthy! If you're thinking about visiting Machu Picchu, I can't recommend this tour enough. It was such a magical experience, and I'd happily do it all over again—especially with my friends next time.

Smooth communications between the tour guides. They picked me up with a taxi at my hotel and drove to Ollantaytambo. The driver made sure I waited on the correct area for my train before he left. Once the train arrived at Aguas Calientes, someone with a sign was waiting for me. Had some time to grab a quick lunch and then i met with the guide and she brought me to the bus bound to machu pichu. When I got to machu pichu, my tour guide Julio was waiting for me at the entrance. We walk through the curcuit B and he took a lot of photos for me. He also gave me a run down of the history (very informative). Julio was considerate and responded to my questions.

Minkas Travel provided a wonderful experience. They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. The travel to Machu Picchu was enjoyable with the beautiful views and unique train experience. When we arrived in Machu Picchu city, the tour guide met us and took us to a delicious restaurant that he had already reserved. We had plenty of time inside a Machu Picchu to soak it in, learn from the tour guide, and take lots of pictures. I would highly recommend traveling with them!

The tour guide is one of the best we have ever had! He is equipped with great knowledge about Machu Picchu, patient to take photos for three of us (actually many photos!). Visiting and planning for visiting Machu Picchu can be exhausting these days but he certainly makes it enjoyable.

We didn't have Machu Pichu tickets and chose the last minute tour with Minkas. Irwin was extremely helpful in arranging everything, including the tickets which are notoriously difficult to get. We highly recommend Circut 3 tickets, you get amazing photos, as well as a guided tour of the city. Our guide Vickey was also amazing and took plenty of photos of me and my wife! We stayed in Olleyentamba, so our pickup was arranged in Olleyentamba. Instructions were extremely clear and helpful, we got our all our tickets in advance. On the return Irwin arranged a private transfer to Cusco. I would highly recommend booking with Minkas, they're a super organised agency.

We were picked up directly from our hotel, driven to the train station, and then met by another team member in Aguas Calientes who guided us straight onto the Machu Picchu bus. His knowledge, his guiding style, and the way he brought the history to life were truly outstanding. He made the entire visit unforgettable. This was truly a perfect trip to Machu Picchu. The team that arranged our journey chose a very suitable departure time for us, so we didn’t have to wake up too early and were still able to enter Machu Picchu at the best time. Everything throughout the trip was well organized for us, including the train tickets, bus tickets, and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. A private car picked us up directly from our hotel and took us to the train station, which made the whole experience very smooth and stress free. We did Circuit 2, which is arguably the best route if you want the full classic experience — the iconic postcard views plus the opportunity to walk through and truly explore the ruins of the citadel. From the start, Julio was punctual, professional, and incredibly organized. He met us right on time and immediately made us feel at ease. What really stood out was how knowledgeable he was. He didn’t just give surface-level information — he walked us through the history of Machu Picchu in a way that made everything come alive. He explained the purpose of different structures, the engineering brilliance of the Incas, and pointed out fascinating details about the surrounding mountains and landscape that we would have completely missed on our own. I will start by saying this was an amazing experience. Our guide, Julio (sorry if I have that incorrect), was incredible. He was very patient with my husband, who has some mobility issues. He was also very informative of the area. He explained so much, and even took pictures and a couple videos for us. To start, i booked this tour months in advance of arriving in Peru. Due to a booking error we had to change our pickup location very last minute, I reached out to update, no issue. We were advised of our pickup time the day before the tour. We were picked up from our hotel around 6 am. We were told some of our itinerary had changed due to some scheduling conflicts. So we actually took the Expedition train from Cusco all the way to Agua Calientes. This train is not a smooth ride, however it passes through the same sights as the Vistadome. Some drinks and snacks are available for a fee. By the time we reached Agua Calientes, we were just in time to line up for the bus up to Machu Picchu. Unfortunately, we did not have time to stop and appreciate the area. The bus ride, about 20-25 mins up to Machu Picchu, has some incredible sights. Once there, we made our way to the site. There are washrooms just before entering, 2 sol to use. Our tour started at 11 am, it was warm and sunny, however, by about halfway through it was pouring rain, with thunder and lightning, come prepared 😀. It was just as interesting and breathtaking in the rain, just would be uncomfortable if not prepared. Once we finished the tour of the site the line for the bus to return to Agua Calientes is very, very long, about an hour wait. In the rain...Our guide waited in line for us, unbelievable, so we could stay out of the rain. We arrived back at Agua Calientes with very little time to get to our return train. Again, our guide arranged for a couple of to-go meals, so we could have something to eat on our return trip. We were scheduled to take the Vistadome back to Urubamba, then bus to Cusco. We did board the Vistadome,here there are some snacks included, and a " show." Unfortunately, partway into the trip, there were mechanical difficulties. Stuck a couple of hours somewhere along the line, eventually had another train "pull" us to the Ollantaytambo station, and took a bus from there to Cusco. It was a very long day, and yet felt rushed at times. I would have liked a little more time to explore Agua Calientes. Overall, though, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially at Machu Picchu with our guide, and really appreciated the end to end service and communication from the tour company. I would highly recommend this tour company.

I would highly recommend this tour company if visiting Machu Picchu! They reached out because they were unable to set me up on the original tour I had planned, and instead were able to book me on the 2D1N tour. As a solo traveler I was a little nervous to go it alone, but all the guides/tour company workers were very helpful and were always right on time to help me get from place to place. The tour came with a great accommodation for staying over night, and it was nice to have the guide around Machu Picchu because he was incredibly knowledgeable and could explain the rich history of everything you were looking at. I had a great experience and would recommend this tour company to anyone!

I'm surprised I didn't leave a review for Machu Picchu earlier! I went with this tour agency in April 2024. Let me just say that this was the most magical trip of my life! I cannot wait to go again. This was the most organized and safe way to visit for me as a solo traveler. I had SOOOO much fun! I also had great luck being the only one on tour that day with my specific guide (I believe there were cancellations). I ended up having a private tour and the guide took the most amazing pictures that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much for such stunning pictures! The day started off early with a hotel pick up and a very easy organized itinerary with train/bus scheduled. It's a long day but worth every moment. The destination and the journey both matter here; along the way you see beautiful llamas/alpacas, towns, beautiful majestic mountains with clouds that linger around, and so much more. The geology and landscape is truly stunning!! Ok, for the Macchu Picchu review...OMG!!! I have never seen anything more beautiful in my life. It is absolutely beautiful full of peaceful frequencies, vibes, and electric yet calm feelings. The colors of green landscapes and blue skies are absolutely breathtaking! The walk to the site is very easy and short but along the way it's worth stopping and embracing the beauty. I truly enjoyed Machu Picchu with all my heart and fell in love with everything in Peru. Biggest thank you to my tour guide...I wish I could note his name but it's been over a year., he was the best and very knowledgeable about so many parts of Macchu Picchu. Book well in advance to get full selection of routes through Machu Pichu before they sell out. Julio was a fantastic guide and made the experience so much better than it would have been otherwise.

I booked this trip completely last minute and was lucky to have found availability. It’s a whole day tour so please be ready! Early morning, train and bus ride but all worth it. I had a great tour guide Julio who took all my pictures and video like a pro. I did this activity as a solo female traveler and felt completely safe. The views… breathtaking!

Last minute plan to go to Machu Picchu and Minkas Travel delivers. Picked up at my hotel from start to finish worry free. My tour guide at Machu Picchu provided a lot of interesting stories and explanations about Circuit 3 even though it was raining majority of the visit. Definitely recommend.

This is the most deserving 5-star review I've ever given. We booked our Machu Picchu trip one week in advance, which is late for most. We only had a Sunday and needed to leave from and return to Cusco in the same day. Didn't matter. Five people worked in concert to facilitate an extremely smooth, painless, and efficient trip; Irwin in Cusco, two people in Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes, our guide Julio Cesar at Machu Picchu, and our driver Dario who drove us home. They also accommodated a different drop off address since I didn't find our place on the drop-down list. They were all equally prepared, they took it serious. All I had to do was book the trip and specify our Cusco pickup spot. Minkas booked our bus tickets (of which there were 4), train tickets, Machu Picchu tickets, guide, and pickup/dropoff rides. The total time commitment, from leaving Cusco to getting home, was 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the same day. We had 3 hours to explore Machu Picchu's grounds which was plenty of time. Julio Cesar is an experienced tour guide who was courteous with our time, knowledgeable on the Inca, and a good photographer. I'm so pleased we managed to visit MP on short notice because it's one of the most stunning places I've ever stepped foot in. For this, I can't recommend Minkas enough. They didn't push me to write this - but I recognize people who are for real, and these people are for real. It's worth the money. The only cost is what you spend at the initial booking, and the rest is taken care of. The only money you need is for food. 5/5. Thanks, Austin & Tim
