I am so glad I chose to book with Runas Trip Peru. They made it so easy right from the start. I booked only a week in advance and were able to book everything that I asked for. I decided to add an extra day last minute and they had no problem booking an extra tour that I wanted. My dream trip to Machu Picchu was able to happen because of them. I contacted other agencies and couldn’t guarantee tickets and they were considerably more expensive. Runas Trip Peru was extremely communicative and kept in touch with me to ensure everything went well. Thank you so much Runas Trip Peru!!
Runas Trip Peru arranged my Machu Picchu trip perfectly, and everything felt smooth and professional from start to finish. Communication was responsive and clear, the logistics were well organized with everything running on schedule, and there were no confusing moments or last-minute surprises. Most of all, the tour guides were excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about Machu Picchu and Peru’s history, which made the experience far more meaningful and enjoyable. Overall, I felt well taken care of, relaxed throughout the trip, and confident that every detail had been handled properly.
The start of our trip was a bit complicated because the Company forgot that be booked a 2 circles private visit. The rest of the visit was perfect. Edgar our guide was great and very well informed on Inca history, political situation and living circumstances. We enjoyed the trip and the guidance to Machu Picchu very much and had a great time. The booking was absolutely worth its price.
Pick up in Cusco was 4am, 30 min. earlier than we were expecting until a WhatsApp notification 9pm the day before that also reminded us to carry our passports (needed for ID purposes for train, bus and Matchu Picchu). The early pickup was necessary as the train we were booked on was a 1hr-40min drive from Cusco. On the way, the driver stopped to pick up an envelope containing our tickets. Met our tour guide at the exit of the Matchu Picchu train station before boarding bus for last leg up hill (into a rainy, mist-shrouded, Machu Picchu entrance. Our tickets were for the Circuit #2 tour that covers all the public areas. Loved our guides coaching to ensure we took the safest and less slippery route up and down the many uneven stone stairways. The mist and rain cleared during our tour allowing for many pictures during our 2hr visit. The guide provided good commentary and some illustrations from his guide book at each stopping point, as well as answering our many questions. The guide ensured we found our return bus ride before leaving us. Voucher for lunch was stappled to our tickets and was for 3 course meal (a la carte) in restaurant overlooking a raging river. Drinks not included. Had more than 2hrs free time after lunch before scheduled return train journey (time to explore, shop, get a massage, etc.). Got back to Cusco hotel at 8pm, exhausted but happy!
Great experience and tour guide. Knew a lot about machu pichu. Showed us all the great spots to take photos. Would recommend this trip again
Machu Picchu was amazing! Our tour guide was also great.. Few complications and a few unexpected issues came up but overall it was a good experience
To be very clear, there was no issue with the tour itself, John was very pleasant and informative as a tour guide. To put it simply, they never sent our train tickets so we had to spend 300 and purchase tickets when we got to the train station, it is kind of a big deal that a tour that cost over 700 usd would drop the ball like that and I personally wouldn't take the chance with them if you are reading this review.
This was a great trip. John Munoz was my guide. He was awesome! He took some great pictures. I did circuit one. The staff brought me my tickets the day prior. Machu Picchu is one of the greatest sites in the world. Getting to Machu Picchu is not easy below I will lay out the logistics. 04:20 AM the day of the tour someone picked me up in a taxi from my hotel in Cusco and took me to a large double decker tour bus. This bus then took me to the train station where I took a train from Wanchq( Cusco) to Ollantaytambo. Then from Ollantaytambo I took a train to Machu Picchu town called Águas Calientes. There I met my guide John. Then all the tourists take these buses from Águas calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu. We explored circuit 1. This offers the best views. The tour ended then I took the bus to Águas Calientes. I ate at the restaurant provided. Then I took the train from Águas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. Then a taxi took me from there to Cusco! Long day but worth it
Amazing trip! A bit of a hiccup with the taxis but the tour company was super helpful every step of the way and helped us get it straightened out. Long trip to and from but Macchu Picchu isn't exactly around the corner from Cuzco so just know you're in for a long day of travel. Alfredo (Ryan) was an amazing guide who really made our time in the mountains memorable.
Amazing guide, John. Knowledgeable and very thorough. He was jovial and friendly. Beautiful place! Very awesome. The time we spent flew by and everything worked without a hiccup. Our lunch was tasty with a nice friendly staff. I’d recommend this excursion to anyone.
This company is a mess! We initially booked and paid, only to get a cancellation email a couple of hours later! I contacted Runas directly to ask why and they said that their funds were blocked, despite us having paid, so that sounded a bit dodgy, but tripadvisor confirmed our refund and Runas said they now had funds available, so we booked again. We were expecting our tickets the day before and heard nothing until a text from tripadvisor saying our tickets were on the attached link. All that link was, was confirmation of the booking and clearly stated these were not the tickets, so we had to follow up with Runas directly again. Only when we chased them, did they make contact and say they would deliver our tickets to us. We were being picked up at 4am and so went to bed early. At 9pm I had multiple messages, calls and even a video call from a driver and from Runas themselves, insisting they were collecting us now and taking us to Puno - we just wanted to go to sleep! On the day, everything ran smoothly until we arrived at Machu Picchu at 8.30am and there was more stress as they had booked us for a 6am admission! We were questioned at every point and we were grateful that we had a good guide who sorted it for us. After our Machu Picchu tour, we found ourselves with 4.5 hours to fill in Aguas Caliente which has nothing there except restaurants and a market, selling the same as you see everywhere, so 1.5 hrs for lunch and a quick wander is more than enough, so the late train made no sense. Machu Picchu speaks for itself, but I strongly recommend against booking through Runas.
Livorio was awesome! I highly recommend him- he was very patient and filled the breaks with a full picture of the history and placement in the larger global setting of the time. The lunch was really good and overall, I can’t speak about how awesome of an experience this was in using the tour.
Our experience with Michael was amazing! He made it so fun and educational, took the BEST pictures/videos and had a lot of knowledge that made our tour that much better. ¡Nuestra experiencia con Michael fue increíble! Hizo que todo fuera muy divertido y educativo, tomó las mejores fotos y videos, y su conocimiento hizo que nuestro tour fuera mucho mejor.
Overall if was a pretty good experience. Our driver, Alex, was AMAZING!! He picked us up right on time and did an amazing job navigating the roads and answering any questions we had. Train ride was also wonderful...and all the staff was super helpful in answering any questions we had. The problem came when we arrived at Machu Pichu....the tour company gave us tickets for 6am entry and by their own schedule we didn't even arrive til 8:45am. Luckily, the guide who received us when we got off the train was able to still get us in....but it definitely was stressful thinking we might had made the 4 hour journey for nothing. But after we got in we really enjoyed our time...our guide, Catherine, was outstanding in explaining everything and making sure everyone in our group was keeping up okay. She also took some amazing photos for us! After Machu Pichu, we had the lunch that was included at Julian's....lunch was amazing and we had a great view of the river rapids. Note that lunch includes appetizers, entree, and dessert but you are responsible for paying for drinks. We then had a little time to spend in Aguas Calientes before boarding our return train. Alex, our driver was waiting for us and did an amazing job of getting us back to our hotel before 7pm.
Very well organised tour, from the bus to train and meeting the tour guide in Machu Picchu. The entry to Machu Picchu was late however was able to get in a little later with no issues. The lunch was at a lovely restaurant and gave a 3 course meal which was lovely (recommend to get there early as they may run out of options). The tour guide was very helpful and even dropped off back at hotel after tour.
Excellent communication even though there was not one person to guide you throughout whole journey. Our driver from cusco came on time, train station at ollaytaymbo was chaotic but we eventually found out how boarding process works. the tourist train ride was pretty. a guide was greeted us at aqua caliente and helped us boarding chaotic line for bus. we finally for transferred to John, the MP guide for tour. John was knowledgable funny, and acdomodating. he took plenty of pictures for us and friendly. we had lunch at a local restaurant but had to find it which wasn't a problem. food was good Peruvian cuisine overlooking river. long day came to an end with transfer to driver back to cusco. tour was cancellable up to 2-3 days before and it was important to me bc I have a ill loved one that might of taken priority. we would recommend tour
Flawless complex trip made easy, van-train-bus-bus-train-van dome by the sencond, and the cultural guide excepcional great. I waited for 40 years to come back in Cuzco to visit Machu Picchu with my 25 year old daughter for finishing his Master Degree in College. The day was womderfull on middle July, very sunny and warm, allways taking care of us with stories and fully detail history on the site and sorroundings. The place was full of tourists but everything was fluent and easy, we will repeat other destinations with Viator and the great local partners in Cuzco Peru as Runas Trip local operator. Thank you !
The organisers were very responsive in the run up to the trip, which I appreciated. But they showed up early for the pick-up (that matters at 4am!), then we couldn’t find our guide at the top of the train, the woman who finally met us after we waited for a while and rang the organisers didn’t have our bus tickets. Then when we got to the entrance for Machu Picchu we finally found our guide and he didn’t have our tickets. It turns out when he got our tickets, they were booked for 6am when we were booked on a 6.40am train, so we had to fill out a form at the entrance to explain why we’d missed our start. The tour itself was great and the experience overall was fantastic. We did circuit 1, which had lovely views. But there was a lot of waiting around while we tried to find our guides or our tickets.
It was an iconic visit. It was much better in person than in any photograph. Our guide Uber Cardenas was fantastic and knowledgeable. He had a lot of patience and wait the perfect time to take the best photos. Beyond the historical significance The natural beauty surrounding Machu Picchu is stunning.
MP was amazing! Loved it so much, train ride is a great experience as well, and we were lucky to sit on the ‘better’ side with nicer views on both rides. However, the tour itself could be better organized - the guide was not waiting for us at the MP entrance, I was not sent tickets for bus and MP upfront so it was stressful…
John and the team at Runas was excellent, knowledgeable, thorough. We really enjoyed the experience with John ,especially, and the team!
We had the most breathtaking experience with the help of our wonderful guide, John Muñiz, who made Machu Picchu unforgettable! Still can’t believe we had the opportunity to visit one of the wonders of the world! We give John a 10/10 for sure!
This was the worst trip I have taken with Viator. They asked us to be ready at 4 and driver showed up at 4:20. The drive to the train station was NOT PRIVATE which meant we had to pick up another couple. The driver being late drove way over the speed limit and covered the trip that typically takes 2 hours in less than 1.5 hours we were terrified the whole ride. We were dropped off outside the station and told to run to the train. We met our guide at Machu Pichu station. He said he will only spend 3 hours with us and so dropped us off in the middle of our tour at Machu Pichu after quickly going through the sights. We had to find our way back to bus and then lunch and station. The crazy part was we were done at 1 and the return tickets were for 4:45!!! The icing on the cake was our train was delayed indefinitely. At this point we just gave up, bought our own tickets on another train and got back. What an absolute nightmare.

The whole experience was good and safe with clear instructions. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour around each pichu
Not as private as they advertised. Part of the trip you have to handle on your own. Not everyone is professional. The driver who picked us up at the hotel was very rude because he said we were supposed to be waiting for him at 7:30 sharp when we were given a pick up time between 7:30-800 am. A bimodal bus will take you from the station to the train station. There is no private guide in the bus station but one of the staff will assist you with your tickets and tell you which bus to get on. The bus is not private (20-24 people) were on that bus. After a 2 hour ride, you will get to the train station. No personal guide to assist you. Make sure u listen for your embarquement time from the announcer. The train ride takes about 1h40. A guide will be there to direct you to the line to take the bus to Machupichu. When u get to Machupichu, a private guide will take you to the tour. The tour was ok. We were booked for circuit one ( we had a view but could not go inside the structure itself). Not the best and the company seemed to just book what is available. The guide was good in helping us take picture but I could have done this circuit myself without anyone. I don’t think it is worth spending all that money for this. May be just hiring a tour guide for Machu Picchu only may be helpful other wise you r just paying extra for public transportation.
It’s a mission to get there from Cusco in rainy season - 2 hour car - 1hr 40 train - 30 mins bus - and then a moderate climb to the viewing point. But it was so worth it. We had a great driver and fabulous guide. It was invisible on arrival due to cloud but Edwin predicted precisely when it would clear, gave us great history, and when it cleared, helped with photos and innovative video. It was truly amazing and completed lifetime dream. On return lunch was excellent at Julian’s, adjacent to the river that becomes the Amazon, and return journey all worked. Long day though. But fabulous.
Astonishing trip to amazing Machu Picchu! Very well organized and great and knowledgeable guide Carlos.
It was great to be able to do Machu Picchu in a day and have lunch ready. Everything ran smoothly - someone to guide us at each step (taxi, bus, train, bus, tour guide, bus, train, taxi). Our guide, Shawn, was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a long exhausting day, but we were so glad to get this experience in our limited time. Gracias!
Our guide Wilber was super knowledgeable and fun. The communication was great from the tour company. It is a long and early journey from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, but worth every minute
Everything went wrong since the beginning. The trip is very confusing, since there's no guide to accompany you since the beginning. The agency will leave you with the tickets and some info and that's it. It would have been a lot cheaper to organize everything by myself. The guide at Machu Picchu was hard to find, since he didn't come to greet me. He was waiting near the stairs to start the track on the mountain. I got circuit 1, but the guide said he would just accompany me until the classic sight to take photos, he didn't accompany me to Puente Inca, so I decided not to go, since I was afraid to get lost. The Machu Picchu tour lasted about 55 minutes. The guide was private, so he obviously wanted to finish as soon as possible. He just explained some basic stuff that I had already checked online, nothing new. No curiosities or fun moments. Then I went back to Aguas Calientes by myself (there is no helping you to come back, so exercise your memory to remember the way when you're going). At lunch time they asked me to go to a restaurant that had just SALAD as a vegetarian option. And it was sweet. Totally awful and awkward, I just thanked and left to eat some pizza elsewhere. Later the agency paid most of the lunch via PayPal, but not everything. In the end, this tour wasn't worth my time and money. It got me totally exhausted and frustrated just to take a few pictures.
From reading the description it seems you get escorted from Cusco to Machu Picchu, this is not the case. The company sorts out your bus and train tickets, the guide for Machu Picchu and the transfer back from Ollantaytambo but you don't have a guide for the full day only at Machu Picchu. Initial communication with the company was great and they sorted out our tickets promptly. The day before the tour, the communication was not as good about how to get our tickets and the delivery was delayed. The private tour we had of Machu Picchu was fantastic and our guide was very knowledgeable. He was happy to answer all our questions and help us get the most breathtaking pictures. The lunch was good and tasty, although the service was slow due to lots of tour groups attending. Give yourself a couple of hours here. The private transfer back from Ollantaytambo. Was comfortable
I was so lucky to have Bryan as a guide. I didn’t know much about Machu Picchu previously, and after taking the tour with him I really got all the details and the understanding of why Machu Picchu is so important and even more beautiful than what we can see visually. Plus the tour company really set up everything for me from bus to trains to even lunch. I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone interested!
Great communication from the staff. The tour was great along with the tour guide who was knowledgeable. Lunch was good too. Definitely recommend this.
The tour was amazing. Tour company accommodated all of our special request. They even arranged vegan lunch for us. Everything was taken care by them. We didn’t have to worry about buying bus tickets or train tickets. It was a fantastic experience.
The tour was incredible, especially because of the guide Uber, kind and always attentive to us, an incredible experience thanks to him!!
We loved it, super attentive, very punctual, a personalized service. Highly recommended
I arrived in Peru on the 3rd and we returned today the 13th. Those 10 days were wonderful. We enjoyed more than 10 unforgettable experiences. I was able to record documentaries at all the activities, the people are very friendly and Peru is beautiful. This company made everything perfect. Carlos is a master and knows how to treat clients, I hope they continue to value you at the company and you continue to climb. Rodrigo is a tremendous person, super polite, thank you very much for the gifts, we take away a great memory. I would like to thank the great work team, drivers and tour guides, everyone was excellent. I recommend them 🙌🏽 We will meet again one day 🫶🏽
Everything has been wonderful, they have an organization that shows commitment and quality, the guides were very kind and experts in their field, punctuality is something important to highlight that it was 10/10, we are very satisfied with choosing this trip with Runas trip, all the staff have been attentive and always respond. Excellent experience Peru, is magical!
Highly recommended, they were very kind in addition to being very attentive with their service
Excellent experience, it preserves its culture and wonderful experience.

Excellent attention, service, punctuality, and human quality.
An incredible, responsible, and attentive agency, I recommend it with my eyes closed, I have no complaints, it was recommended to me and I recommend it just the same, I did tours in Cusco and Lima and I am delighted
Great agency. All the necessary support to make a wonderful trip
It is a really good agency, with an excellent cost...
