Machu Picchu 1-day Tour: Vistadome Panoramic Train From Cusco

We had an incredible once in a lifetime experience, the booking agents were impeccable and on top of everything. I worked with Christian Perez personally and everything was coordinated with the utmost professionalism. Trying to handle logistics when coming from other countries can always be challenging, but I was so impressed with Christian Perez and the prompt responses that we got to our queries and questions and their sincere responsiveness to everything. No need to tell anyone about how magical Machu Picchu is. This review is about the tour organised by Libertrek Perú Travel. Everything ran smoothly from getting pick-up early morning by a minivan to getting the train, the bus and meeting up with our fantastic guide (Noé). He’s very knowledgeable, energetic and answered whatever questions we had. Although this is not a private tour, it feels very private as there was only 4 of us. Libertrek Perú Travel‘s WhatsApp number gets answered very quickly for any questions/queries. I would recommend booking using this company.

I recommend travelers to visit this wonderful place of Machu Picchu while they are young, can walk, and climb a high altitude mountain. The best place to visit. Highly recommended.

We all had an absolutely fantastic trip. EVERY aspect from pick up at hotel to getting back to Cusco was on time and easy to connect with. We received the Circuit 2 tickets as we entered the citadel. Again, everything was on point and extremely enjoyable. The only suggestion we had was our tour guide in Machu Picchu did an excellent job in presenting detailed information about the Citadel, and he just needs to break up the information at intervals along the way. We found it hard on our backs standing in one spot for 15 or 20 minutes during one of the information stops. Our guide was excellent, just that one suggestion. Several trains a day, so choose if you want to go straight to Machu Picchu or stay overnight. Try to get seats NOT at a table of four; you get more legroom. There’s an at seat service of a snack and tea. You can also purchase extras. A great way to get there.

I was coming to Peru last minute for work with limited time in the country and purchased this package. They took care of everything! Quick to respond and very accommodating. They made the trip so easy and safe. The travel company was thorough and friendly. The train was an incredible experience and my tour guide was the best. We had a wonderful day visiting Machu Picchu with our tour guide Augustin, who was fantastic. He shared fascinating facts about Machu Picchu and the Inca people that really enhanced our experience and made the tour memorable. Transportation to the train station in the morning was easy and efficient. But due to the train schedule and bus delays in Aguas Calientes, we arrived nearly an hour late to the site entrance. We were fortunate they still let us in, but the tight schedule was stressful and we would have appreciated an earlier train departure to allow more buffer time. **Recommendation for the tour company:** Allow customers to review the detailed itinerary in advance and share preferences (such as seating requirements or timing preferences) before the tour day. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this day trip to Machu Picchu!

Our Machu Picchu trip was absolutely amazing. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we knew exactly what to expect, explaining every detail clearly. All of the staff were wonderful, especially our guide, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable during the mountain hike. He gave us great photo recommendations and even took some pictures that looked professional. The host also ensured we arrived at every venue on time so we didn’t miss any activities. Out of all the trips I’ve taken, this team truly stood out for their care and attention to detail. A special thanks for holding onto our luggage — it made our journey home so much easier. The transfers were smooth and all staff including the bus and train ride provide the best hospitality. It was a long journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu but it is all worth it! We love Peru!!! The tour of Machu Picchu was a wonderful experience. The guide was highly knowledgeable and shared a wealth of historical context that truly enriched the visit. However, the experience fell short of expectations due to moments when we were left without guidance. When booking a tour, one generally expects to be fully accompanied throughout—especially during key transitions such as boarding the correct bus or train. These gaps in support made the experience feel more like a series of coordinated bookings rather than a fully guided tour.

I took the last minute trip to visit Machu Picchu, no advanced ticket booked. When I contacted the tour operator, Katheryn helped me from beginning to end. (Thank you for holding my hands!) Took care of all the logistics aspects of my trip. Helped me secured a token to buy ticket to circuit two, on same day I arrived Machu Picchu! I was very lucky! If you are planning your trip, let them take care of you so you can enjoy an experience of a lifetime. My guide Wibuer was the best! I hope you get him to guide you! Excellent journey, with a special mention for waiter Felix, his kindness, attention and professionalism. Furthermore the music band on board (of which I forgot the name) with a variety of typic airs to rock and pop, very entertaining. Not to forget the dancers in magnificent costumes.

We used Libertrek to go to both Machu Picchu on Vistadome Observatory train and to Humantay. They are top notch across the board: - Thorough and responsive always addressing any issues and questions. - Operation runs like clockwork with nothing getting lost in any of the handoffs between guides, drivers, scheduled service, etc. - Guides were very friendly & knowledgeable making the experience very pleasant; particular “two thumbs up” to Eduardo (our guide to Humantay)

Liberty Peru Travel provided excellent service from begging to end. Service was professional, courteous and timely. They took care of all of details, timing, instructions and most importantly they provided a contact for each part of the tour. Les recomendamos esta compañía para sus usos turísticos. Our guide Beltrán went out of his way to take care of us. Elio helped us with coordinating and pick-up and drop-off at our hotel.

Be prepared to bring snacks/food/water. They do serve you once on the trip but it's a granola bar and some quinoa chips. Also make sure you bring bug spray, I forgot mine at the hotel and it was $20 for a small can when I got to Machu Picchu (not the trips fault, my own). The experience was amazing, going through the Andes is surreal to look at in the panoramic view. It was a long ride and once you get there your guide will meet you, our was Rafael and he was amazing. I had just flown in the night before and still was adjusting to the altitude (give yourself 24 hours at least and don't make my mistake). He took his time while we were hiking up to stop and give us plenty of history about Machu Picchu including the people, crops they produced, the flowers/plants, how Machu Picchu survived the Spaniards invading Peru and of course the llamas. I also loved how I got picked up and dropped off at my hotel and even got my tickets delivered to me the night before the trip. Everything went smoothly and I highly recommend this trip. It's definitely worth the money.

We took the train from Aquas Calientes to the bus after visiting Machu Picchu. What we thought would be an ordinary train ride, with scenic beauty, the unexpected entertainment and service were a wonderful surprise! I had no idea that the servers on the train would entertain us with dancing and a fashion show! they were so friendly and very nice. I'd like to personally acknowledge Joseph and Miguel!

Very professional, a day earlier I was given all the information of what my tour would be like in a clear and friendly way. They passed on time, a good guide. It was an excellent experience I would do the same tour again

I paid for the most expensive option entitled to the carriage with restaurant bar one way was nice, but back it was disappointing. Initially it is chaos to tackle because everyone fists without anyone ordering, they put me in a wagon that was not the one I had paid for I had already made friends with whom I planned to live on the return and in the end I was left alone and in the dark, I was upset that I paid a higher price to return in a lower category wagon.
