Our 4 day Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour with TreXperience was the perfect honeymoon experience. Everything was exceptionally well organized—from the private transfers and hotels to the train journey and Machu Picchu visit—so we could simply relax and enjoy every moment. A special thank you to our guide, Juan. His knowledge of Inca history and traditions made every site far more meaningful, and his seamless planning ensured the entire trip ran effortlessly. We especially loved Chinchero, Moray, Maras, Ollantaytambo, and of course the unforgettable experience of Machu Picchu. We highly recommend TreXperience to anyone looking for a private, comfortable, authentic, and memorable way to discover Peru.

We’ll collect you before dawn from your Cusco hotel and travel through the Andean highlands to the Inca Trail trailhead. If you’re staying in the Sacred Valley, pick-up will be approximately two hours later.
Enjoy breakfast at a local Ollantaytambo restaurant overlooking ancient stone houses and terraced slopes.
We’ll then drive to the Km 82 checkpoint. The official starting point of the iconic Inca Trail.
Begin your first hike on forested paths, reaching the atmospheric Llactapata ruins just in time for a gourmet lunch. Continue alongside the Cusichaca River, admiring verdant hills and orchids as you make your way to camp.
Arrive at Wayllabamba camp to a refreshing pisco sour or glass of wine, then soothe tired muscles with a hot shower and optional massage before settling in for a sumptuous dinner under the stars.
Day 2
2
Start your morning in camp with a hot cup of Andean tea and a hearty breakfast before setting off on a rewarding climb. Trek through pockets of cloud forest, pausing among Polylepis trees whose twisted trunks glow in the mist.
Break for lunch on the open Llulluchapampa plateau, where valley panoramas stretch out beneath soaring peaks.
Then, summit Dead Woman’s Pass (the highest point of the Inca Trail) and take time to admire the sweeping views of snow-capped mountains stretching across the horizon, an unforgettable reward after a challenging ascent.
The descent delivers us to Pacaymayo camp, where hot showers, soothing massages and hearty dinner await, accompanied by mountain-fresh air.
Day 3
3
As dawn breaks over the Urubamba Valley, you'll wake to breathtaking views of the Andes and nearby waterfalls before setting out on a two-hour hike toward Runkuraqay Pass, the trail’s second-highest ridge
Visit the Runkuraqay archaeological site before crossing the trail’s second-highest point with sweeping views of the surrounding Andes.
From the pass, descend for two hours through fern-filled cloud forest to explore the circular Inca ruins of Sayacmarca, perched beside a high-Andean lake, where ancient stone walls rise mysteriously from the mist and a delicious lunch awaits. Lunch amid ancient stones, then onward through hanging valleys carved by centuries of water.
Arrive at Phuyupatamarca camp, the “City in the Clouds,” perched high above the valleys, and be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink. As you settle in, watch the sun slowly sink behind Machu Picchu Mountain, casting golden light over distant glaciers and the endless ridges of the Andes.
Day 4

Wake at 5:00 a.m. to watch the mountain sunrise with coffee, then enjoy your final trail breakfast before bidding farewell to the chef, porters, and massage team.
Follow the trail to sweeping agricultural terraces. Learn how the Incas shaped the slopes for farming and views across the Urubamba Valley.
Enter a pocket of cloud forest with orchids and mossy walls. Explore graceful terraces and vaulted niches set on a steep hillside.
Arrive at the Sun Gate. Take in your first panorama of Machu Picchu framed by rugged Andean Mountains.
From the Sun Gate we will follow Circuit 1 on a gentle descent to the iconic photo viewpoint, then head to the main entrance for your second entry via Circuit 2, a relaxed, guided exploration of the citadel’s plazas, temples, and sacred lookouts
Enjoy an unrushed lunch just steps from the entrance of Machu Picchu at the exclusive Sanctuary Lodge, savoring gourmet dishes in a serene setting with views of the surrounding cloud forest.
Take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and board the Vistadome Observatory Train back to Ollantaytambo, with panoramic windows and an observatory car featuring live music.

Made some memories we'll carry with us forever. Jose Abad was our guide and saw us through a tough event. Record 3 day rainfall closed the Inca trail while we were in day 2. He saw to our safety first and foremost and led the entire team with confidence. The whole crew Jose, Alex, Marley, Celso (chef), and all the porters - all were incredibly supportive The meals were delicious. Hot showers, massage, wawa's.... The attention to detail in all they did showed through. If you manage to get Jose as your guide, you'll be in great hands. After making our way back to Ollytantambo, we caught the train to Maccu Piccu as the weather was turning into the usual beautiful August day. Once again, Jose was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the Inca and Maccu Piccu.
What an Absolute AMAZING time we had on the Inca Trail with the TreXperience team!! They really went above and beyond for everything we can think of. From 2 private hot showers for our group of 7 to 2 masseuses to take care of us after a long day of hiking to simply awesome meals - Jose and his team of guides, chefs, porters and massage therapists were all a delight to do this journey with. We had 3 kids ages 9, 11 and 13.. And as soon as the youngest two struggled, they immediately grabbed their backpacks and stayed with them to ensure they're hydrated along the hike. Our beds and tents were super comfortable. They even gave us hot water bladders to keep our feet warm during the cold night. Jose was so knowledgeable in every aspects of the Incas, Machu Pichu and Peru overall. Patiently answering all our questions and really making sure all our needs were taken care of. Just simply Awesome!
A memorable adventure for many reasons! We booked our Luxury Inca Trail with Trexperience and met our head guide Monica and 2nd guide Alec the night prior to departure. Heading out on Day 1 we were very excited to hike the Inca trail. Unfortunately, due to severe altitude sickness and a stomach flu we were unable to continue past Day 1. Monica was very compassionate and caring with helping me recover as best as possible. Monica liased with her team of porters and staff in the office constantly and reorganised our entire trip so we could get to Machu Picchu as planned. That might sound easy but you have to remember hotels, train and bus tickets are booked well in advance so they did an amazing job securing this for us. I would recommend Trexperience if your looking for a company that will totally look after you and your needs in Peru!
Overall, our experience with TreXperience was mixed. Some team members were outstanding and made parts of the journey memorable, but there were also serious operational, communication, and guiding issues that affected our confidence in the experience. First, Rosmel from the sales team was excellent from the beginning — professional, responsive, and very helpful in resolving last-minute confusion before the trek. Unfortunately, the operations side felt disorganized. A few days before the trip, Edith contacted us again requesting food preferences and payment information that we had already submitted four months earlier. I had also completed the wire transfer more than 10 days before departure and emailed proof of payment, but never received confirmation. Being asked again shortly before the trek was concerning and made us question how organized the company really was. There was also a major issue with one of our Machu Picchu circuit tickets. We were a party of two, and one permit had been booked for the wrong date by TreXperience. Thankfully the guide team resolved, but this should never happen with such time-sensitive permits. Another major concern was the lack of a proper safety and logistics briefing. The “briefing” was only a four-minute phone call and did not adequately explain emergency procedures, altitude concerns, trail risks, or what equipment the guides carried. We did not feel properly prepared. The rushed briefing also caused avoidable problems. Freddy told us water was included but failed to explain that we needed to carry our own water for the first several hours of the trek. As a result, we did not bring enough water and were left unprepared. Lourdes, the guide assistant, was absolutely outstanding. She stayed with us throughout the trek, checked on us constantly, and was attentive, kind, and customer-oriented. She genuinely made the experience better. Daniel, the chef, was also amazing. The meals were excellent, especially considering the conditions, and his work added so much comfort to the experience. Eli, the masseuse, was incredible to have during the trek and provided a level of care and support that was deeply appreciated. Lourdes, Daniel, and Eli were all extremely customer-oriented and helped make difficult moments much more manageable. Unfortunately, Freddy as the main guide left us disappointed. We booked Circuit 1/3, but during the tour he made us cross into Circuit 2 areas, and I am not even sure that was permitted. More importantly, his explanations about Machu Picchu often lacked depth and historical understanding. When asked meaningful questions about the site and the Incas, he sometimes answered with “coincidence,” which felt dismissive and inaccurate considering the intentionality and sophistication of Inca engineering and culture. I wish he had demonstrated a stronger knowledge base and a deeper appreciation for the historical significance of Machu Picchu. TreXperience clearly has some exceptional staff members, but the operational coordination, safety communication, and consistency in guide quality need significant improvement to match the level of experience being advertised. There were also smaller but still important details that did not match expectations. The porter bags did not have proper hip support, which made us question whether adequate attention is given to porter comfort and equipment quality. In addition, we did not have the Andean Shaman/Pachamama ceremony that had been part of the experience we expected, which was disappointing because it is presented as a meaningful cultural component of the journey.
Such a wonderful trip! The 4-day luxury tour is Inca Trail glamping at its best. Our guide, Monica, was fantastic. She brought the Inca history to life and tailored the experience to our preferences. Our chef, Alejandro, created delicious, creative & healthy meals -- he should open a restaurant! Toro, our head porter, seamlessly handled all of the logistics and added lots of personal touches to enhance our comfort at every turn. Rosmel, in the front office, promptly answered our many questions and made sure we were taken care of from our arrival in Cusco to departure. Overall a magical, amazing Inca Trail trek and Sacred Valley visit. Highly recommend TreXperience!
Our 4 day/3 night Inca Trail Luxury Experience with Trexperience was superb! Every detailed planned and executed to perfection by the office staff and trail crew. Our head guide, Abelardo, was first and foremost concerned with our health and safety and helped each of us successfully navigate the high elevation and difficult terrain. He shared extensive knowledge of Incan history and managed the crew of 57 expertly. Our assistant guides, Efrain, Fernadino, Rosa, John Cesar and Evangelino were helpful, friendly and attended to our every need. The head chef, Daniel, and his assistant, Vincent, prepared absolutely fabulous 4 -course meals with the freshest ingredients, beautiful presentation and excellent flavor- they even provided a birthday cake for one of our hikers. The massage experience was excellent. Elisabeth and Merili are well trained and the dedicated massage tent and comfortable massage beds added to the luxury of our daily massage. Our porter crew of 47 was wonderful. They cheered for us each day as we entered camp and were friendly and respectful and a delight to encounter on the trail. The porter boss, Santos, ran his crew with expert efficiency. Each porter knew his assignment and all worked in harmony. Among our porters was our shaman, Climaco. Our sacred service with him on the third afternoon was a blessing to us all. Our only frustration was in trying to obtain proper tipping information. We were stunned to realize that our trek required a staff of 57 people, but the day we entered our first camp we understood why: Beautiful tents, luxury beds and bedding, a dining tent, a shower tent, a private restroom tent, real dishes and silverware, 4-course meals, and lovely decorations were only made possible with a crew of this size. Our tips in total equaled 21% of the cost of the trip and they were worth EVERY penny!!! Others considering the Luxury Trek are encouraged to plan accordingly- you will want to when you experience this incredible level of service. This was the experience of a lifetime for the seven people in our party, each who have traveled extensively. The crew, the amenities, the food, the hiking, the scenery, the history- all of it was extraordinary. Thank you to all who made this trip a complete success!!
This TreXperience expedition was so far beyond our expectations in EVERY way! The delicious and nourishing meals, cozy beds, superb guides, preparation!
Wow! What an adventure! Jose and the rest of the crew were simply amazing! They made every minute wonderful! The hike is tough but they make you know you can keep going! Extremely knowledgeable even with all my questions about the history of the Incas. The food every meal was spectacular from Chef Daniel!! Still don’t know how you make a cake while camping! I highly recommend this group. If you’ve been looking around and researching, look no further…I saw many groups on my hike, and I knew I was experiencing the best of the best!
I joined the 4-day / 3-night Inca Trail expecting an incredible hike and breathtaking views. What I didn’t expect was how deeply human this experience would feel. The trail itself is stunning — ancient stone paths, misty mountains, changing weather, and the quiet power of history under your feet. Machu Picchu at the end is, of course, unforgettable. But for me, the most meaningful part wasn’t just the destination. It was the people. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient, and deeply respectful of the land and its history. He didn’t just explain the Inca civilization — he helped us feel connected to it. And the porters… I honestly don’t have enough words. Their strength, kindness, and quiet smiles made every day lighter. They worked incredibly hard, yet always made us feel cared for. I’ve been traveling solo for a long time, and somewhere along this trail, sharing meals, stories, laughter, and tired legs, I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long while — a sense of family. Eating together after long days, checking in on each other, celebrating small moments… it felt like home, even though we all came from different parts of the world. This trek gave me more than memories and photos. It reminded me how powerful simple human connection can be. If you’re considering the Inca Trail, know this: Yes, it’s physically demanding. Yes, it’s iconic. But if you allow yourself to be present, it might also give you something far deeper than you expect. I’ll carry this experience with me for a very long time.
I just returned from an epic 4-day Inca Trail hike with Trexperience, and it was unforgettable! The logistics were seamless from Cusco, letting us immerse in stunning Andean views, ancient ruins, and challenging paths. Our guide, Edi de Puma, was fantastic—passionate about Incan history, flora, and fauna, keeping spirits high. His evening flute sessions under the stars added a cultural touch that was pure serenity. Edi, you're a legend! Chef Alejandro blew us away with gourmet Peruvian meals and even baking a cake at high altitude—all hearty and diet-friendly. The porters were heroes, hauling gear efficiently with smiles, sharing their traditions for a deeper experience. Trexperience excels in organization and sustainability—it's more than a hike, it's inspiring. 5 stars! Thanks to Edi, Alejandro, the porters, and crew for lifelong memories.
Listen. If you are on the fence- book this tour. It was perfect. Frank was the most knowledgeable guide we could have asked for. His assistant David was helpful, kind, and also very knowledgeable. They answered exactly one million questions every single day. Birds? Flowers? Mountain names? Inca History? They knew every single thing. David saved bird calls and pictures on his phone JUST IN CASE we had questions. The food? Perfect. The showers? Warm. The bedding was cozy even at the highest elevation. The porters were lovely. Zero complaints. 10/10. Spend the extra it costs for the luxury tour- just to have these fantastic guides and all of their knowledge on hand. It made our once in a lifetime experience absolutely perfect.
Seeing Machu Picchu had been a dream of mine since I was a small child, so I feel incredibly privileged to have shared this experience with my husband for our 10th anniversary and to have been guided by everyone on the TreXperience team! We chose the Luxury Inca Trail 5 days to Machu Picchu: trekking the Inca Trail in 4 days, saying goodbye to almost everyone on Day 4, then spending a night in a hotel in Aguas Calientas, and concluding our journey by spending Day 5 (our actual anniversary) touring Machu Picchu with our guide, Cesar. From the start, our in-office contact, Gabriela Conde, was nothing but kind and accommodating while communicating clearly with what was expected of us and what we could expect out of this journey. Gabriela mentioned that we would have 14 porters, which was a shock... until we were on the mountain and we saw just how much work was involved in moving us from campsite to campsite each day. For some reason, we had thought that there were dedicated campsites for TreXperience, but no... The team of 14 mostly from Lares, led by Head Porter, Alejandro, literally moved our lives for us, keeping us safe and in luxurious comfort. We had an incredible chef, Lucio, and sous chef, Jaime, who created delicious breakfasts, lunches, tea times, and dinners for us... an unbelievable feat!! To our delight, every meal was completely different, delicious, and included traditional Peruvian cuisine. There was almost TOO MUCH food for us, which we were so grateful for! Additionally, somehow, Lucio baked us a cake for our anniversary on Day 4. Hooooowwwww did they manage this magic?? We're still speechless! We had a masseuse who came with us; Alicia was a shining star of happiness who helped us relax at the end of each day. Without her, we would have been piles of aching muscles!! Last but not least, we were with our lovely guide, Cesar, throughout the entire journey, and assistant guide, Wilbert, who left us at the end of Day 4. Cesar was wonderful storyteller, leading the way, making us laugh, and specially pointing out the different orchids growing on the mountains for me simply because I briefly mentioned that my best friend is obsessed with orchids. So thoughtful! Wilbert was sweet and kind, patient, and genuinely caring throughout the trek. We were thrilled with TreXperience and the lovely group who supported us along the way: Gabriela Conde, Travel Specialist Cesar, Guide Wilbert, Assistant Guide Alejandro, Head Porter Alicia, Masseuse Lucio, Chef Jaime, Sous Chef The team of 14 porters, mostly from the town of Lares
After my trip to Peru with my family I am feeling incredibly grateful to have found Willian and his tour group. Their attention to detail, care, and support was unmatched. We knew we were in great hands. For our 4 day trek, we were able to make memories for a lifetime all thanks to them.
It’s hard to put into words how extraordinary our luxury Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu truly was. From the moment we were met in Cusco by our guides and support team, we knew this was going to be something special, not just a hike, but a deeply moving, flawlessly orchestrated journey through history, nature, and culture. Every detail had been thought of. Our guides were knowledgeable, full of warmth and humor, weaving stories of Incan engineering, ancient rituals, and mountain legends into each day’s trek. They had a sense for when to pause for photos, when to rest, and when to simply stand in silence as the clouds rolled across the Andes. The staff, the team of porters, chefs, and support crew were nothing short of heroic. Somehow, while we hiked with light packs, they would race ahead to set up an immaculate campsite! Reaching Machu Picchu on the final day felt like the culmination of something much greater than a hike, it was a pilgrimage. Our guides secured the perfect timing to enter through the Sun Gate just as the first light hit the citadel. This journey exceeded every expectation of comfort, care, and connection. The professionalism and heart of every guide, porter, chef, and organizer turned a challenging trek into an unforgettable, soul-stirring experience. If you’re dreaming of the Inca Trail and want to do it in absolute style and comfort, this is the team to trust.
This has been the best of the high altitude hikes that I have done not just because of the scenery, but because of the team that took care of us. Frank and his team of guides, chefs and porters took care of all of our needs.
This is an amazing way to experience the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. TreXperience took care of all of the details, and we had a wonderful group of porters, guides (Fernando, Lourdes, Ephraim, Wilbur, and William) and an incredible chef, Julio. Most importantly, the lead guide Roger Calsin really took care of us- waited patiently, pointed out so many things that we would have missed, and spent a lot of time teaching about the Inca culture. He also was our guide for the Cusco city tour, the Sacred Valley tour, and Rainbow Mountain, and really made our week special.
Amazing adventure! Amazing history! Amazing beauty! And, most of all, amazing guide and support staff! Roger was our fearless leader on the Inca Trail and visits to the Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain. He is so knowledgeable about the history of the area, the Inca culture and all things nature. Clearly passionate about his work. He is patient, and knows just when to step in to offer support and when to give space. His great sense of humor kept our spirits buoyed even during the challenges including rain and snow(!). The support of the other guides and porters was wonderful too. Everyone made what was surely extremely challenging look easy and seamless (a luxury glamping trip in difficult terrain!). Julio is an amazing chef! Delicious, gourmet, traditional food at every meal! If you are considering the luxury trip, you won’t be disappointed. Can’t recommend Roger and his team at TreXperience highly enough.
The professionalism, organization, knowledge, service, and friendliness of TreXperience was far beyond anything that I expected. The unexpected “extras” and the support that they had for our crew made this trek a top experience of my life, including a celebration and renewing of wedding vows at the Sun Gate. Above and Beyond.
EXCELLENT tour! Willian was a very knowledgable guide and full of history. Anything looked at as a need was taken care of immediately. The porters were so kind and worked very hard to make everything comfortable for us. The Chef took great care in providing excellent, hot meals. The massage therapists made sure we were ready for the next day of trekking. :) Willian's assistants were also there to provide knowledge on the trek as well help with additional duties, such as, providing hot showers for us. We could not have asked for a better experience and I would highly recommend doing the "luxury" addition.
Walking the Inca trail is much harder than people describe. It's hard work, especially if you are over 40. Having little comforts like a great bed, a quick hot shower, and a massage at the end of 7 hours of hiking makes a huge difference to the journey. When coupled with 5 star food, it helped us to recover every day. The food was amazing. Our experience could not have been better. Our knowledgeable, interesting, and professional guide Rene led a highly professional team, who made everything great. His offsider, Fernando, was also brilliant. This was a truly world-class team. Arriving at Machu Picchu after 4 days was one of the greatest travel experiences of our lives. It would not have happened without this team. I can't recommend them highly enough. A small tip. Take 2 days to acclimatise to the altitude. It makes a massive difference.
Our family completed the 4-day Luxury Inca Trail with TreXperience (August 26–31, 2025), and it exceeded every expectation. We traveled with our adult son with special needs, and the entire team showed extraordinary care, patience, and kindness. Our guide William Elvis was exceptional—knowledgeable, kind, and an inspiring storyteller. Assistant guides Evangelino and Efrain treated our son like family, forming a true friendship with him. The porters, led by Alejandro, were efficient, cheerful, and always one step ahead. Chef Lucio’s meals were simply extraordinary, and the massage sessions by Marili were the perfect finish after long days of hiking. From seamless transfers to unmatched hospitality, TreXperience made this journey stress-free and unforgettable. More than just a trek, it was a life-changing experience filled with beauty, laughter, and genuine care. We recommend TreXperience without hesitation.
Best ever! The food was beyond fantastic. The trail support went above and beyond. Jose and the assistant guides were awesome. Everybody was very kind. The porters were the best! Chef Daniel gets 5 stars. Jose, Werner, Danilo, Efrain, Jaimie, Fernando, and Lordis all did a great job and were a lot of fun. "Just 15 more minutes!!"
If you have been thinking about doing the Inca trail, just book it! It is one of the most incredible adventures and experiences. Trexperience made this trip phenomenal and unforgettable. The attention to detail, first class service, food, and staff were all amazing. Our guide, Jose, was great and made sure every possible need was met. If you decide to book this trip, the luxury experience is a must. The amenities you receive are worth every penny and I couldn’t imagine doing this trek any other way. Zero complaints or regrets booking the luxury trek with Trexperience.
This was one of the best tours and treks I have ever done. Our guide, Roger, was first rate. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful and communicative throughout our time together. The luxury experience was well worth it. The meals were fantastic and it was amazing what the chef, Alejandro, could cook in a pot over a propane stove. Most dishes were authentic Peruvian food and we even had a full chocolate cake on the last night of the tour. Our bed and bedding was warm and comfortable even in the high mountains. All the logistics and transportation were handled smoothly without any issues at all. Any questions we had beforehand with TreXperience were answered almost immediately on WhatsApp. There is nothing we would have done differently or that did not live up to expectations and it made for an incredible trek and visit to Machu Picchu.
Trexperience is the best! They really know how to treat their clients. Their hospitality was off the charts! We did the 4 day luxury Inca trail (hard, btw) and they spared no expense making sure every need we had was taken care of! Our guide, Jose was exceptional!! He was kind, courteous, knowledgeable and experienced. All of our staff were amazing. The work that they put in making sure that we were comfortable, warm, fed was beyond anything imaginable. They were the hardest working and most hospitable people we have ever met! Thank you so much for a trip of a lifetime! We highly recommend Trexperience and the luxury tour. You will not be disappointed !
One of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives — breathtaking views, stunning panoramas, and an adventure we’ll never forget, shared with great friends.
What an unforgettable experience! I feel so lucky to have done the trek with Trexperience. We had the most amazing guide, Roger—calm, cool, and collected as we made our way along this ancient trail. He went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, no matter how tricky it got. The whole trip was seamless! I also have to give a huge shoutout to Evangeline—“Evans”—who literally carried my heavy bag (along with his own!) to help me reach my goal. I couldn’t have done it without him. Lourdes was absolutely adorable and so helpful throughout the trek, and our chef, Julio Cesar—wow! His cooking was truly Michelin-star worthy. Every meal blew me away. And the wonderful masseuses, Analissa and Betsy—such a special treat! They were so kind and caring. Massive kudos to the entire Trexperience team for their hard work. What they do is truly remarkable. 💫 ⸻
My friend and I, both in our 60’s, had an amazing adventure hiking the Inca Trail. Our guides, chefs, and porters were fun, knowledgeable and encouraged us every step of the way! The bonus massage therapist was amazing too! The steep downhill steps in the rain were a challenge but Cesar and Fernando guided us with confidence and patience. 100% recommend this tour!
Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is something I've dreamed of doing for years. My family decided to go with the luxury experience, in part because the private tour meant we could set our own pace and really personalize the experience. TreXperience certainly delivered on the luxury, from the decorated tents with comfortable mattresses and bedding to the delicious plated meals. None of this would have been possible without our incredible guide, Roger Calsin. Everything about his leadership was professional, polished, and personable. He was acutely aware of our group's abilities, and knew exactly how to pace us so that we made progress along the trail without getting burnt out. He was also quick to lend a steadying arm to a member of our group whose knee mobility made going down steep staircases challenging (and it didn't go unnoticed that on these staircases, he always quietly positioned himself closer to the edge of the mountain). Over the course of our trek, he conveyed a vast amount of knowledge on everything from the flora and fauna to Incan engineering and farming techniques. His admiration for the Incan culture was palpable, and the way he told stories really made history come to life for us. For example, he walked us through the remarkable engineering that made the water fountains at Machu Picchu possible (something I would have completely overlooked myself, but after Roger pointed them out, really impressed all of us with their complexity and precision). In addition to the history, Roger also connected with us by telling personal stories from his family and childhood. On our last night together, he led us through a special ceremony to honor Pachamama and ask for a clear day at Machu Picchu (and it worked!) We were infinitely lucky to have Roger as our guide, and while there are a million more complimentary things I could say about him, I also want to make sure I mention the rest of his incredible team. Roger was joined by two energetic assistant guides, Lourdes and Evangelino. The two of them were always quick to help us with anything we needed, from picking up dropped hiking poles to helping us tie off our rain ponchos. Additionally, each night included a massage from Alicia, which was greatly appreciated after a day of strenuous hiking. Furthermore, Chef Amilcar really impressed us with his talent. Each meal was tasty, healthy, and unique, and we were delighted to have been able to sample a range of tasty Peruvian dishes. I ate better on the trail than I do at home! And finally, the porters worked incredibly hard to set up camp and make us feel comfortable from the second we arrived. Seeing the porters on the trail, practically jogging down steep stairs without missing a step, was a sight to behold. Their work ethic is something to be admired. Sore muscles will fade, but the memories we made together as a family will last a lifetime. Thank you Roger and team for making this the most incredible family experience!
Our satisfaction with Trexperience started with the information gathering and booking. Their team (Katy, Jazmin and Miguel) answered every question and ensured the booking process was smooth. Trexperience provided us a first class guide in Hendrik - he was knowledgeable and shared his knowledge from pre Inca to Inca to Spanish to current. He also provided many facts of the flora and fauna along the trail. He had a great sense of humor and was infinitely patient. His assistant guide Evangelino was a great asset, who was key to helping my wife complete the trek. The food served by Chef Amilcar, would stand up to any five star restaurant. He was beautifully presented, it was delicious and he provided a variety over the four days. Him and his sous chef are true artist! The massages by Alicia, were magic and helped keep us going and being ready for the next day. The porters were such hard workers, transporting, setting up and tearing down the camp. Despite the hard work they always had a kind smile and were ready to assist in any task. Hendrik and the team displayed a true commitment to keeping the trail clean and green. All meals were served on reusable dinner ware (how they transport China across the trail without breakage is another testament to their skill). Numerous times Hendrik would stop and pick up any piece of rubbish we came across as we walked. Our tents, showers and toilets were clean and ready at every stop. We found the deluxe trip lived up to everything promised and highly recommend. With that said even if you opt for the standard package I would have a hard time believing you would not be highly pleased, We cannot thank Hendrik, Evangelino, Alicia, Amilcar and the Porter team enough for all their work and helping to give us a great experience!
Amazing people for a real challenging hike, Juan, Sharon and the whole team were helpful every step of the way! The information, food, the whole experience was something I will never forget
We just completed a five-day private luxury Inca Trail tour, and it was truly the experience of a lifetime. Our guide, Señor René, was absolutely incredible—deeply knowledgeable, passionate, and knew every step of the trail and every Inca site like the back of his hand. His insights added so much depth to the journey. Señor René truly made the entire trip what it was—his leadership, warmth, and storytelling brought the trail to life in a way we’ll never forget. The food, prepared by our chef Julio Cesar, was honestly some of the best I’ve ever eaten in my life—a remarkable feat, especially on a remote mountain trail. We were also supported by two amazing assistant guides, Danielle and Alejandro, who were incredibly helpful and kind throughout the hike. This tour exceeded every expectation and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable way to experience the Inca Trail.
Unforgettable experience. Cesar is an incredible guide - super friendly, organized and a true expert of all things Inca. The accommodations were perfect and the food was all delicious. I highly recommend this tour!!
I had a wonderful experience with this company. A big compliment to the chef Amilcar and his team. The food was excellent and the team very hard-working to give us an amazing four days.
Absolutely Amazing experience! Such a personalised trip with fabulous facilities, food, tour guides & daily massage
This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had led by Cesar and the team. At every step (and there was a lot ) we had everything we needed to make this trip one to remember. I could not recommend this more highly. Top tier information and support provided, amazing food and all round adventure. Special shout out to Sharon! This was 5 star all the way to the top
Absolutely incredible TreXperience! From start to finish, this trek exceeded all expectations. The entire team was exceptional. Our guides, Cesar and Sharon had amazing depth of knowledge about Peruvian history, culture, flora, and fauna. They shared fascinating stories and insights that brought the landscape to life. Their warm personalities and genuine enthusiasm created a truly enjoyable and engaging atmosphere. The culinary experience was another highlight, thanks to the phenomenal skills of Chef Augusto and his sous chef. Every meal was a gourmet delight, featuring fresh, local ingredients prepared with incredible creativity and care. The daily massages were a luxurious and much-appreciated treat after each day's hike. The glamping tent setup was lovely, offering comfortable and stylish accommodations in the heart of the stunning Peruvian landscape. Finally, the porters were absolutely amazing and professional. Their hard work and dedication ensured that our trek was seamless and stress-free. We were truly impressed by their efficiency and kindness. In summary, TreXperience delivered an exceptional and unforgettable adventure. I cannot recommend them highly enough. It was a truly magical experience
We opted for the luxury experience and what a treat . 4 of us traveled . Frank - the lead guide and 3 of his team - Fernando , Alejandro , and Lourdes were a fabulous team handling all of us with tender care . We were blessed to have Frank giving us tutorials all along the way - a wealth of knowledge. He has been a guide for years and his passion shines through . The chef and team - made the most delicious entrées with attention to Detail and amazing presentation. One of our parties had food restrictions- and chef and team insured there was an option to accommodate. We had massages daily by Alicia, which helped with soreness etc - a spa experience on the trail . ❤️ Bless all of the porters carrying all the supplies , setting up tents , shower , and bathroom . Being in the travel industry I can clearly say this was 💯 luxury on the trail so worth it . ! Esp the care and attention on the trail from the guides they stuck with us all the way and help us navigate through some difficulty ( well to me that is :) . I would highly recommend this experience and the team.!
What an incredible trip!!! An experience of a lifetime. Our guide team headed by Frank including also Francisco, Alejandro and Lordes were so wonderful and competent. When things got a bit dicey with a lot of rain and major slippery mud we put our trust in Frank and his team. I felt 100% trust in Frank’s judgement regarding any and all safety matters. The luxury tour is well worth the splurge from the beautifully appointed tents with cots and down comforters wrapped in clean sheets, a nightly hot “ sailor type” shower, the amazing 30 minute massage each night after the hike with Alicia, and the truly gourmet traditional Peruvian food presented in a beautifully decorated table and tent. Frank’s historical and botanical knowledge was amazing and fascinating. His enthusiasm and love of the history of Peru, the Incas and the indigenous people prior to the Incas was so apparent. In addition to the spectacular beauty of Machu Picchu, I also learned a lot of history and also about the agriculture and medicinal uses of some of the botanical species. In addition to all of the above, there was also much laughter and friendship. I even got to go skiing “Machu Picchu style.” down a muddy hill with Frank’s assistance.! Finally, just also want to acknowledge all of the many porters on our trip who worked so hard and each day would give us welcome cheers for completing each day’s hike. Clearly, I recommend this experience 100% as well as this company which was professional from start to finish.
This was an amazing trip. It was organized and the entire staff was so friendly and encouraging. The showers, massages and food were incredible. Frank, our tour guide is so knowledgable and Alejandro was awesome and stayed with us and encouraged us the whole way!!
Awesome experience but could have used better communication from the tour provider. Our guide Jose was great company and gave us detailed explanations about the trail, archeological sites, and finally Machu Picchu. The chef Julius Cesar kept us very well fed with impressively tasty meals, considering all of the equipment and food needed to be carried along the trail. The porters basically ran the trail and set up a comfortable camp every evening. My only complaint was relatively poor communication from the tour operator. We weren't informed of just how many porters they hired for a two person trip until the night before we left (seventeen, plus three additional staff and two guides, for a total of twenty two people), and because of this we had a really hard time getting together enough cash to tip. We used all of our Soles, backup USD, and had to ask our guides to wait until we returned to Cusco. Just one more day with all the information would have let us avoid that.
Amazing trip! Appreciated the guidance and leadership from Edy, Balvino and Venedicto. The porter team were incredible.
I ended up getting a stomach bug on the first day of the hike. Daniel and his team went above and beyond to take care of me. I would highly recommend this company!
We actually did the 5-day Luxury Inca Trail trek because we all wanted to be able to take our time on the trail, and it was worth it. The Luxury package was deluxe!!! The food was amazing, the accommodations were so nice (cots in stand up tents), hot showers and messages every night. I don’t have one complaint about my experience. And TreXperience is first class. I was never disappointed, and always pleasantly surprised! Guides make all the difference. Our guides were awesome. They were so knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Edy and Maribel shared their culture and passion for their people, language, and ancestry. I have a new found respect for this area and its history and culture. I can’t say enough good things about our experience in Peru. TreXperience was amazing. I highly recommend going thru them.
After exploring several options for visiting Machu Picchu, we decided on the 4-day, 3-night Inca Trail Luxury Tour with TreXperience, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the start, TreXperience impressed us with their helpful communication, providing detailed information through emails, a packing list, and a chat feature that answered all our questions about the hike. The night before our trek, our lead guides met with us to go over the itinerary and address any final concerns. From the moment we began our journey to the time we parted ways in Aguas Calientes, our primary guides, Juan de Dios and Maribel, demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and care. We were also joined by two additional guides, Evangelino and Meliton, who kept us entertained and supported throughout the trek. While I’m sure all TreXperience guides are exceptional, I want to give a special thank you to Juan de Dios, Maribel, Evangelino, and Meliton for making our experience unforgettable. Their encouragement through the challenging Inca Trail, from the tough ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass to the steep descent at Phuyupatamarka, kept us motivated. Along the way, their insights into the trail and its history enriched our experience, allowing us to truly appreciate the grandeur of the surroundings. Juan de Dios and Maribel made us feel at ease throughout the entire journey. They were warm, knowledgeable, and a joy to spend time with. Once we reached Machu Picchu, Juan de Dios led us on an enlightening tour of the site, sharing fascinating details about the Incan culture and history. A special mention goes to our wonderful masseuse, Esmeralda, who was not only skilled but also incredibly friendly. As for the food on the Inca Trail – simply put, it was outstanding. Julio Cesar’s multi-course meals were nothing short of exceptional, offering a taste of Peruvian cuisine that could easily earn Michelin recognition. I would return to Peru just for another one of his unforgettable meals!
Exceeded my every expectation. So, so fun and unforgettable. Our main guide Edy Puma was amazing. So knowledgeable and passionate about his culture and so helpful with anything we needed. The main assistant guide Maribele was so friendly and helpful and made a big difference in our experience with her wonderful, positive attitude. Our cook, Julio Caesar literally made such good food. It was incredible. Every. Single. Meal. Our 4 assistant guides, Evengalin, William, Alejandro and Meleton were amazing. Any single thing we needed, they were all over it. They made our trip flawless and made us feel so special. Could not recommend this trip enough. What a wonderful experience with wonderful people.
This experience has exceeded my expectations. I didn't know exactly what to expect when I signed up for a luxury trexexperience but wow. Edy Puma- the guide, so knowledgeable, kind, patient, organized and attentive. Great english Maribel- the sweetest. She is also so kind. We had a few hikers that were slower and needed extra time and they were so understanding and helpful. I enjoyed our conversation and her love for what she does. Assistant guides- I love these sweet boys. Seriously I could not believe how good they are at their job. I had every need net with a smile. Porters- what hard working people. Holy cow. I was so impressed. This trip is a must. Seriously 15/10.
The Trexperience luxury Inca trail trip was 100% worth it. Even with our high expectations, they were exceeded at every opportunity. Food, tents, staff, logistics, etc. The porters were amazing - all smiles and always working hard. Edy and Maribel (our primary guides) were fantastic! Food prepared by Julio Cesar was amazing both in taste and presentation. 100% recommended!
I went with 8 other friends and the most spectacular tour guides in all of Peru! We hiked four days, spent four nights and came through the sun gate and every step was beyond beautiful! Edy Puma was our lead guide and he was passionate sharing his culture! His knowledge of history and culture was the best! Maribel Tumpay was his assistant and she smiled and encouraged during the whole adventure. I had a broken foot and was able to keep up because these two, along with our guides helped me along the way and were never impatient! The assistant guides, Alejandro, Melaton, William and Evangeline were the so helpful! You may hear people claim to have the best food but I am here to tell you Julio Cesar, our chef was over the top with food taste and presentation. We could not believe the quality and amount of food we had at our daily sit down meals. Of all the experiences I've had hiking and camping this exceeded my expectations on every level. I could not rate this trip and the incredible people more highly!
