The experience was amazing! I was a bit worried, but it was very smooth. The guides like Ricardo and Luis made the experience very smoothly for us.
This tour is an excellent way to discover a quieter and more authentic side of Lake Titicaca. The organisation was very good throughout, with friendly staff and guides who provided clear information and ensured that participants always knew where they needed to be. The overnight bus was comfortable enough for the long-distance journey, offering a practical way to travel between Cusco and the lake region. Most importantly, I felt safe throughout the entire experience, both during the transfers and while visiting the local communities. The island itself was peaceful and unspoilt, providing a welcome contrast to some of Peru's more crowded attractions. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the homestay on Amantaní Island. Staying with a local family offered a fascinating glimpse into daily life in a traditional Andean community and was far more rewarding than simply passing through as a day visitor. Before arriving at Amantaní, the tour included a visit to the famous Uros floating islands, where residents continue to maintain artificial islands constructed from totora reeds. While the Uros Islands are one of Lake Titicaca's most well-known attractions, my favourite part of the tour was experiencing life on Amantaní itself. In particular, visiting "El Pueblo", the island's main community, provided an opportunity to observe local customs and appreciate the slower pace of life that characterises the island. The atmosphere was remarkably calm, the landscapes were beautiful, and the experience felt genuine rather than overly commercialised. Spending the night with a local family added a personal dimension that made the visit especially memorable. There are, however, a few aspects that prospective travellers should bear in mind. The journey between Cusco and Lake Titicaca is quite long, and the return trip can feel tiring, particularly on a short itinerary. Accommodation on the island is intentionally simple, and in my case the host family did not have hot water available, which unfortunately made it impossible to have a proper shower during my stay. In addition, the USB charging ports on the bus were somewhat unreliable. Some sockets were slightly loose, and the available power was insufficient to charge my Samsung S26 effectively. These inconveniences were relatively minor in the context of the overall experience, but they are worth knowing in advance. Overall, however, this was a rewarding, culturally enriching and memorable tour that offered a genuine insight into life on Lake Titicaca.
You did a really good job!!! Thank you
I loved the trip, it was well organized and I felt I was taken care 100%. The Homestay was a fantastic experience. Both guides on the boats, Angelo & Pablo were very knowledgeable and caring. Gabriel was incredible knowledgeable and kind Peru Hop host & Moni as well was kind, organized and helpful too. Thank you. iI will recommend Peru Hop to others and hope to come and travel with you again in the future.
PeruHop’s Brenda is a real diamond of a gem… she’s every traveller’s expert guide and assistant when in need… I left my GoPro13 at the previous hotel and she co ordinated everything and had my GoPro sent to the next hotel by the next day’s bus….she also was advising in a clear manner how to go about all the processes of the tours and bus rides for PeruHop! …
My journey with Peru Hop has been fantastic. Brenda was an excellent guide on this tour taking care of all the details and paying attention to each traveller and their onward journey. Very friendly and professional. Best wishes!
Brenda assisted us from Cusco to Puno. Very kind and helpful guid! I’d like to cooperate with her more!
I joined several tours with Neil as our guide, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was always attentive to everyone in the group, shared fascinating information about every destination, and made the whole trip fun and enjoyable. Thanks to him, we were able to discover the wonderful places such as Cusco, Puno, Arequipa and Huacachina in a truly memorable way. Neil's positive energy and professionalism made this journey unforgettable. I highly recommend touring with him! My family and I we'll miss you so much my tocayo!!
We loved staying with a peruvian, traditional family and see how they live on the Amantani Islands. We ate their food, we went to local festivities and we even worked together with them on their fields. We were welcomed warmly by the family and we can definitely recommend!
Amazing experience. Best for who want peace traveling but also want to have flexibility of choosing the length of the visit and trips to do. The staff is very well prepared! The hosts Boris from Peru part and Emanuel from Bolivia part were extremely patience, explained everything in English and Spanish, had nice recommendations. For me, solo traveller, this was an amazing experience.
Amazing experience with Boris ! He speaks perfect English which is a life saviour
Amazing organisation and always good vibes and tips with Boris on this trip !
Had an amazing experience. Our guide was super helpful and I would definitely recommend doing this tour.
he is very experienced and kind. he tried to do his best and he cared about every member of tour. i am sure everyone might be satisfied with him
Staying with a local family on Lake Titicaca was one of the most meaningful travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and generosity. Sharing meals, learning about daily life on the lake, and spending the night in such a peaceful, authentic setting made the experience feel real. Also a huge parte of this trip was our bus guide Julio Caesar. He is very knowledgeable, handled everything smoothly and professionally, always making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable.
Traveled from LA Paz to Puno. Miguel and Andreas were our guides. Both were excellent. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Great job, highly recommend this service.
The 2-day tour of Lake Titikaka with overnight on Amantani Island was amazing. The floating island visit was so interesting. The overnight with Wilbur & Sonya on Amentani was awesome. Tho there is no running water, we were very comfortable and well fed. Taking part in the community dance in costume was fun. The next morning we pulled weeds and cleaned quinoa, then hiked around to the dock. Wilber carried almost all of the bags! The lunch at Llachon was very tasty.
Overnight on the bus is OK if your good at sleeping anywhere. The speed bumps in the town's along the way could wake the dead. The experience at the end of the ride is worth it.
The guides particularly Jose Carlos, made this experience worthwhile. We arrived from a place that requires a visa for entry, though we had all the necessary documentation, we encountered some hiccups on the crossing— Jose Carlos not only stayed with us the entire time but he ensured our process continued smoothly, made sure we made our bus connection, and made us feel safe in the process.
It was a different experience. It was a first for me, it was different but I enjoyed it, definitely wouldn’t take a toddler again, a bit to challenging.
Peru Hop was simply amazing! Their organization is impeccable and allows you to travel completely stress-free when it comes to transportation. In the bigger cities, they pick you up and drop you off right at your hotel, and in smaller towns, they’re always ready to help you arrange a transfer if needed. Even when small inconveniences happened (which can easily occur on long trips), the team handled everything with incredible efficiency and professionalism. During the journeys, they always include short stops for meals and cultural breaks, which make the trip even more enjoyable and interesting. We had an excellent experience with all the guides we met – they were kind, accommodating, funny, knowledgeable, and always available to answer any extra questions. We traveled with Raúl, Franco, and Johann, and they were all outstanding. Raúl solved a small issue we had with the bus quickly and kindly. Franco was super engaging – he shared lots of fascinating facts, was fun and entertaining, but also very organized and serious when needed. Johann was extremely friendly and cheerful; he made the trip from Puno to Cusco fly by and gave us lots of great tips. Overall, everything was perfect – we couldn’t recommend Peru Hop more!
I was slightly apprehensive about travelling on my own considering this was my first experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of planning and how easy Perú Hop has been. Would definitely recommend it for anyone who wishes to travel here.
He was kind and smart. He explained about our schedule very clearly and he addressed requests and questions very well. Good.
The bus was really comfortable and not crowded and organisation was good. The guide Juancho was really nice and makes sure everything for you is fine.
Miguel: top guide on the bus, the ride is a little bumpy though ;) Uros: very special, being able to see locals handcrafting and taking a ride on their 'Mercedes Benz' aka straw-boats Amantani: life changing, had the pleasure to be there at the San Sebastian Festival at fullmoon with local party included, living at the host family was a very pleasant experience, dining at their place & eat local foods included and don't forget to take a trip to Pacha Tata or Pacha Mama (one of the best sunsets on earth) would do it again anytime, 10/10
Had an amazing tour, guides were knowledgeable and fun and when in amantani the hosts made us feel very welcome. Miguel on the Peru hop bus was so helpful and helped us in the bay the whole way through.
Very efficient and friendly service. Our host Jirack was really helpful and kept us informed at all times. Would definitely recommend Peru Hop!
We did the Perú hop bus from copacabana to puno - (border cross into Peru) our tour guide Jirack was amazing and was very helpful thought out the whole process. Thank you Jirack!!
Luis and Mar were very good guides who gave the right amount of information during a 12 hour bus ride! They were able to answer all questions and had many recommendations for us.
We had a great time on this tour! Got to see so many different places, every one of them well worth visiting. Boris, our guide, deserves special praise. If not for Boris, we might not have been able to do the tour at all. When one of us got sick, he got medical care and medicines that made it possible to recover quickly and continue with the tour. Throughout the four days he was our guide, Boris was informative, friendly, helpful and would always go the extra mile to make us comfortable and keep us safe. Boris made the tour more than interesting - it's an experience we will treasure for life!
'MAVERICK' im from KOREA. he is so kind and the best travel instructor I've ever experienced, and if there's anything to travel in the future, I'd like to join him. I want to give him the highest rating and I always want him to be lucky.
Christopher and Ana were both amazing tour guides and struck a good balance between providing information and providing a relaxed atmosphere for the journey! One aspect that could be improved is that Peru Hop advertises hostel drop off and pick up but in fact they have a central meeting point.
Smooth and effortless trip from Cusco to La Paz (overnight on bus). We were lucky to have Franco as guide who gave us great tips for adventures in La Paz and supported with border crossing. Unfortunately there were strikes in Bolivia so we missed Copacabana but nonetheless crossed the border at Desaguero. Can also recommend the Floating Island tour from Puno!
Peru Hop was the best option to discover Peru. This is a experience that could save all my time in Peru. They are vey professional even when the things don’t happen the way we were hoping. I did all the south route and all was really nice.
Franco was the best guide we could have wished for. We had 4 days with him and shared a lot of laughter. He was super helpful!
I had one of the best overnight bus travel experiences with Peru-Bolivia Hop team. From a punctual start at the departure point (in Cusco), the staff showed great amount of patience in briefing and taking care of small details to make this trip worthwhile. Upon next day arrival in Puno, early morning breakfast was ready and onwards short trip to the floating islands with the perfect timing to watch the sunrise was spot on precise. The main highlight of crossing over to Bolivia and immigration support was well managed. Excellent and friendly support from Abner all along is greatly appreciated and worthy of praise. Thereon, after crossing over to the Bolivian side, Luis took over and he was such a fun, calm and lively guy to give valuable tips and make the journey like a breeze. As informed/advised by the Bolivia Hop team, i had chosen an accommodation in one of the recommended areas and was dropped off accordingly, thanks to Luis for being such a great help and super warm friendly guy to drop us off at the doorstep of the accommodation. In a nutshell, I would recommend Peru-Bolivia Hop with every positive adjective in the book. These guys are experts at managing and organizing for a hassle free and memorable experience of these Latin American (Andean region) countries. Wishing them huge amounts of luck and keep up the great work guys!!!
Lorenzo was a very good guide! We could always go to him with our questions and concerns. It was very nice traveling with Peru Hop, I felt very safe and was glad that I didn't have to worry that much about practical stuff, I recommend!
Thanks to all the assistance and efficiently of our guide Felix in booking Hostel, tour to Titikaka and confirming change of Peru bus all went perfectly well. Keep him please for the benefit of other travellers .
Avoid booking with this company at all cost to save your peace of mind. The amount of issues that not only I had but other passengers on my tour had is too long to list here but the major issues were customers getting left behind and luggage that was supposed to stay in Peru ended up in Bolivia. Tip: use their itinerary that you find online and book your own trip with the locals. It might take more effort to plan but not only will it save you money and provide more money to the locals, you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle in the long run. Getting forgotten and left behind (even when they look you in the face and say they will be right back to get your group) is extremely stressful and they don’t take responsibility for their business mistakes. Worst tour I’ve ever experienced. Don’t waste your money with them. Zero stars.
Andrea was a great guide, very helpful and Peru hop itself gets my recommendation to any traveller in Peru. The night busses were also comfortable and it was easy to get some rest for the next day.
The bus service was good. However, I do not recommend the optional tours. I broke my shoulder on a golden shadow hike. The description online said it was an easy to moderate hike. Also mentioned walking pole will be provided. The hike was treacherous with steep ascents and descents. No poles were provided. The guide was not equipped to guide guests on the easiest and safest way to go up and down. Lake Titicaca- Tourist trap once you get there. The residents of Lake Titicaca guilt you into giving them money. Very uncomfortable experience.
Really good experience booking my trip with Peru Hop. Booked the hop on hop off option from Cusco to Lima via Arequipa, Nasca and Paracas. The team was super responsive to my queries and it was very easy to book tours on the bus for the next day. Sandra and Andrea were our guides and were really helpful. A major advantage of booking with Peru Hops are some free tours offered plus the pick up and drop off from partners hotels (if you didn't choose with their partners they will drop you off at the nearest partner hotel).
Very dirty buses, expensive and uncomfortable. Save money and just book with local bus companies. The buses after lima were not cleaned between 'hops' so became dirty/ the toilet became blocked and full, which meant the rest of the bus stunk. Also the seats do not recline much, so on the overnight stops it is not comfortable. Peru-hop have affiliations with restaurants and stop only there, these places have limited options (I am GF so struggled) and they are expensive with bad quality food. I asked the reps if there were nearby alternative restaurants, they said they didnt think so. Ignore the reps and go down the road and you will find other local alternatives and bring some snacks. Also do not book any tour with the reps as they are wayyyy more expensive than going to a local tour operator.
Very well organised tour. Slightly expensive for what it is. I had the guide Alvero would was really lovely and would recommend :)
We loved this trip! Leonardo was an awesome guide! Our favorite was dune buggying in Huacachina and ATV tour in Paracas. Peru Hop does a great job putting everything together!
PeruHop is one if not only the best tour/transportation companies for exploring Peru especially for first time travelars. This company is so well organized, user friendly and flexible to accomodate travelars needs such as prolonged stays and reliable transportion from city to city. PeruHop takes the guess work and the stress out of figuring out where to go, what to do and where to stay. The communication with this company is crystal clear and they have a very good online system if you need to update your travel itenary. It really is a one stop shop and I am so glad to have chosen this company for my trip to Peru. I have met so many special people on the way as well on this bus journey. A special shout out to Danna who was our tour guide from Lima to Arequipa, her attention and customer care was phenomenal.
The experience was fantastic. The buses were great. Our guide Maricielo did our trip so easy, everything perfect organized. She was explaining us a lot of things and give us a lot of good advices about the different tours options and where to eat. I can only recommend Peru Hop!
Horrible, nightmarish experience with PeruHop. The experience was great till Puno, but the journey from Puno to Cusco was nothing short of a nightmare. The guide, Jerry, made the entire bus smell like a sickly hospital ward. He continuously snorted for the entire 10 hours (didn’t stop for a second). He was continuously consuming coca leaves and some pills which filled the entire bus with a sickly smell. We could not get a single second of sleep, and felt nauseous because of the bad smell and loud snorting noises. It felt very unhygienic and we’re concerned that we would even fall sick because of the conditions that we were in for the 10 long hours. If this guide was sick, shame on PeruHop for forcefully making him to be on duty. Regardless, we were shocked to see the low standards of PeruHop, they’ve employed extremely unhygienic and unprofessional guides. What a disgrace. We earlier had a guide called Sandra who was absolutely wonderful. We were excited to recommend PeruHop to our friends and family, but now we’re filled with doubt after such a horrendous experience. - Arunima and Smitul
