Wow, we had the most memorable day, from start to finish the experience was amazing. A shout out to David Cha, our amazing guide who was knowledgeable and carried one of our bags all the way when my friend was not feeling well. Shout out to Sinchi, our chef who produced the best food we’ve had in Cusco, both at lunch and breakfast, preparing us well for the trek ahead. We were looked after from booking, with a full briefing the night before. The trek itself was incredible, we feel truly blessed to have had such a wonderful experience.

The arrival to the Inca Trail at Chachabamba around 8:00 AM. You will show your original passport at the checkpoint, prepare for the hike, visit the first inca Site of Chachabamba archaeological site, and start the Short Inca Trail hike to Wiñaywayna and Sungate.

Frank, Alejandro and entire team were great. The 1 day trip with short inca trail and getting to and from Cusco was a long day but worth it! Trekperience guides were fun and personable, and all of the food was made fresh on the trail and amazing! Highly recommend for those that like a challenge with an awesome reward at the end!
We had a great experience during our 1-day Inca Trail tour. Our tour guides were David and Gary, and they were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Amazing time. Went with Fillio as our guide and it was an incredible time. Great history lesson at a modest pace as we saw the beautiful views of the trail. We will be back!
The trek experience was awesome Jason our guide was very knowledgeable and answered every question that I had. Alejandro, was our second guide saved my life. I got elevation sickness really bad could not carry my pack and had not been for Alejandro. I would not have finished. The guy carried my pack. The whole trip. Great job. Overall, I would 100% recommend trek experience to everyone Jason and Alejandro were great guides very knowledgeable and spoke everything clearly and the instructions were very clear. Food was outstanding overall I would give this company and the guides a 10 out of 10.
The trail is of decent difficulty, challenging, but fun. The guides are absolutely amazing: Julio, William, and Jason. Definitely recommend.
We just did the one-day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu, and we can’t recommend it enough — especially if you’re lucky enough to have Renato as your guide. This was a challenging hike for us since we’re not used to the elevation, and my wife wasn’t feeling great that day. Renato was patient, supportive, and incredibly attentive the entire time. He inspired her — even when I couldn’t — to keep going, and we’re so grateful for that. We had amazing weather too. It started out a bit cloudy but turned in our favor throughout the day. Along the way, Renato shared so many fascinating details about the history of Peru, the origins of the Incas, and the story of Machu Picchu. He made it fun, answered all our questions, and brought the whole experience to life. To top it off, Renato went above and beyond — he even ran to get us some pizzas just before the last train so we’d have food for the ride back. From start to finish, he took care of every detail and made sure we felt supported and safe. This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we can’t thank Renato enough for making it so special. If you’re considering this trip — do it! And ask for Renato!
Highly recommend Katie, our tour guide. She is highly knowledgeable about Incan history and knows her way around the Incan trail like a boss. She got us to where to where we needed to be, on time, every time. The combination of her warm and friendly demeanor and rugged hiking skills was an excellent motivator during the sometimes difficult trail. Love her spirit, and her love of her land.
Katie was excellent! She was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She was timely and was both patient with us but also kept us on schedule. Very pleasant personality and good sense of humor! Would highly recommend using Katie!! You will not be disappointed! Would give over 5 stars if I could.
The tour was very thorough- every question was answered with great detail. Filio took his time through the tour and made sure we saw everything we wanted.
We scheduled too late to do the four-day full Inca Trail, but loved the one-day hike alternative. Our guide Juan Jose (Jota) was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We saw some of the best sections of the trail including Wiñay Wayna and entered Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate. TreXperience put together an entire custom itinerary for us for two weeks. With the shorter hike we had time to do a second day in Machu Picchu and climb Wanya Picchu. Overall, a great trip with good arrangements with a small personalized treatment instead of a large group.
Our family of 5 joined a small group for this one-day hike along the famous Inca trail leading to Machu Picchu. This hike gives you exclusive access to certain areas of Machu Picchu, in addition to visiting 3 different Inca sites along the way. I must mention our energetic guide Wilian Elvis - of course he passionately explained the history of these sites of his ancestors, as well as countless flowers, fruit, and birds, but more than once he saw someone looking hot or tired, and without a thought threw their backpack over his own for a couple of miles. As for the trip: we took a train from Ollantaytambo to the Inca site Chachabamba, after which we climbed around 1500 feet through the majestic Andes mountains towards Wiñaywayna. This was the most difficult part of the hike, and was quite warm as the sun came out, but overall it was fairly moderate with plenty of places to rest in the shade, and always an amazing view. You can see the Inca site Wiñaywayna as you approach, and you immediately appreciate the fact that it was carved from the side of very steep and inhospitable terrain. This fact was reinforced as we huffed up a few hundred incredibly steep steps just to get from the bottom of Wiñaywayna to the top. From here, the trail leveled out for a few miles of shaded, cool, and incredibly lush jungle, marked with occasional green serpentina stone, followed by a climb to the Sun Gate, from where we could see Machu Picchu. The final part of the hike was all downhill descending into the upper part of Machu Picchu for photos. It's incredibly rewarding to see Machu Picchu for the first time after hiking the Inca trail, even if it's just for one day. We highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed our guide and our travel experience. The arranged food is also really good but the hotel conditions could improve.
We are traveling in a group of 7 and was paired with our guide Gary. He met us online a day before to give us details on the day hike. We started the walk at around 8am and ended up at our el mapi hotel ( booked on our own ) by 430pm. Gary helped us with bus and train tickets and gave a clear and encouraging instructions on the steps and how to navigate the terrain. Gary fed us stories and gave great explanations on the history of the Inca empire. It was a very scenic walk with slight rain and misty landscape. The view was worth all the workout involved!
What a perfect way to end our trip to South America and visit the beautiful Peru and hiking to Machu Picchu! Weather was amazing, very doable and the most INCAredible part was Gary which is super passionate, funny and his knowledge is just impressive. Able to accomodate any of our requests by going to the extra mile or answer to every question we had!
It was an amazing experience with Gary. He is knowledgeable about the history of the incas and the sights we visited throughout the trail. His English is excellent and we learnt so much from his explanation. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Just ask for Gary if you book with the company.
Jota and Rosmel are wonderful guides. Initially I was worried about the high altitude hiking. Both of them are very attentive to a couple of us that walk slowly. The group energy is great and encouraging. Everyone is friendly and patient with us to finish the first day. The itinerary is great that we could enjoy the Machu Picchu scenery with less crowds. Both guides are very knowledgeable and gave grant tour with detailed explanations about history and culture of Inca . Highly recommend the tour
The tour was amazing. We really enjoyed the time with our guide Roger Salvador. He knows so much about the nature and the inka culture. I can really recommend this tour with him. He really took his time explaining and showing us plants and animals. The best part which was a really amazing feeling when going through the sun gate and seeing Machu Picchu the first time.
Getting to Machu Picchu was simple and when I met my tour guide, Jose, he was able to show me around the town of Machu Picchu Pueno. The sites of Machu Picchu were incredible and we were able to fit everything's I wanted to do there, and Jose explained everything well.
Amazing trip! Once in a lifetime chance to hike the Andes and be rewarded by Machupichu. Be able to experience the Inca trail without camping.
We went as a group of 3 families with 5 kids, ages 9-12. Wilian and Sara were excellent tour guides. They kept us together and helped us navigate the trails with the kids. It was a great way to see Machu Picchu and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to go to Peru (which you should do!!)
Our trip was outstanding, WILIAN RODRIGUEZ and SARA Zamalloa did a wonderful job. Highly recommend
Filio is a wonderful hiking guide he made us feel very welcome and he’s very knowledgeable about the trail.
The whole journey is incredibly awesome, our guide Mejia is the No.1 is really helpful、sincere、native and knowledgeable, best of the best! Highly recommended !
The trip was amazing, we had the most knowledgeable guide, Katia who gave us so much information about the Inca culture, the architecture, their beliefs as-well as plenty of info about the flora and fauna. I would recommend this trip to anyone
The views were amazing, the places are breathtaking, with the panoramic train the views are incredible, when arriving to Machu Picchu my guide Sara, was really kind and all the time she shared the history of every place, I highly recommend this package.
The two day private Inca trail was excellent, spectacular views the whole trip and was absolutely fascinating. Sarah our guide was very helpful, professional and made sure we were okay at all times. She was also very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
We had a great « short Inca trail » tour with TreXperience. They have been very professional starting with efficient communication pre-arrival by email and WhatsApp. The tour itself was just perfect. Sarah our guide was very passionate, fun and knowledgeable we had a great time all along. The transports, food, hotel and visits were of good quality and well organised. We can definitely recommend this well run local company and our guide.
I and my partner had 2 days immersive in Inca culture with the most charismatic guide: Leo! He shows us all the knowledge about Incas on the way to Machu Picchu. We talked about traditions, architecture, medicinal plants, food, and religion and all this made our trail so much more interesting! Is important to be ready for one long and hard journey, but Leo knows all types to be easier. We recommend it, and we promise it will be unforgettable!
I have to say this has been the highlight of my vistit to Peru. Do not leave Cusco without doing the 2 day experience. You get to see macchu pichu from the most iconic views on day 1, trekking through the Forrest in a nearly extraterrestrial landscape. To say it is stunning is an understatement. Great hotel after the tour, simple but comfy and great breakfast. Great meals as well. But I have to say that MIJAIL (aka Mica - our guide) made the experience unforgettable. He was knowledge, kind, mindful of our pace, and also strategic as to when to keep going. The end result was arriving just a group of three at sunset at the sun gate and enjoying the view while he played his flute for us. It makes my eyes teary just remembering it. THANK YOU MIJAIL❤️
Fantastic tour with an incredible crew. They cooked amazing meals for us and shared local information of the Inca’s. The camp site was fantastic and Machu Picchu was breathtaking. Highly recommend!
My wife talked me into going on this trip- I quickly realized it was going to be one of the most memorable times of my life. I am a history buff, so hearing about Incan history from JJ and Manolo was amazing. I am a big guy, and the amounts and quality of food cooked by Balbino and team was amazing. I was also skeptical about sleeping in a tent, but it was super comfortable and has everything we needed. Would recommend this trip to anyone for an amazing experience!
Juan Jose (JJ) and Manolo took such great care of us! JJ was so impressively informative. At one point I heard someone in our group remark that he seemed like a scholar! The treck up the mountain was super hard for me because I came with a head cold. He made sure I was always ok and had the group move at a pace that was conducive to all abilities. The food was outstanding every time we ate. Beyond our wildest expectations! Worth. Every. Penny. Fantastic experience!
Very well organized, beautiful and informative! J.J. And Manolo were fantastic! They were fun and very knowledgeable! We all loved it and had people from early 30’s to 70’s in our group! Everyone did great and our guides were patient and helpful. The food was amazing!!!! Our cook was Balbino and so sweet and great chef! Our lunch up in the mountain was my favorite!!! I’d highly recommend taking this tour!
Once in a lifetime opportunity made incredibly special by our guides J.J. and Manolo. They were organized, helpful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Our cook Balbino was great and every meal was fantastic. We enjoyed every minute and would do it again if given the opportunity. Do not hesitate to book a tour with these amazing guides.
We had a group of 8 and had an amazing time! Our guides JJ and Manolo were so knowledgeable, friendly, funny, helpful, and kind. They had a vast knowledge of the history of the Incas which was perfect for my history teacher husband. We also had a wide age range in our group- we were traveling with young couples, but also my 72 year old dad and 74 year old aunt. They kept a pace that was perfect for them but also exciting for us! Balbina the cook also provided multiple amazing 5 star meals. Thank you again for the trip of a lifetime!
This is absolutely the trip of a lifetime! We had Jose as our tour guide and our chefs and porters were Celso, Juvenal, and Zenon and WOW how incredible each of of them was!!! We had some of the best views, food, and fun of our entire trip to Peru on this excursion with these guys. Jose was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable, he totally made our trip! Thank you so much to all 4 of them for making our anniversary so special!
Great! So beautiful and tour guide was very helpful! Roger was great! We would definitely recommend.
We had a brilliant time! Our tour guide Roger was absolutely fantastic. He motivated my girlfriend when she found the trail challenging and encouraged her to finish when she was ready to curl in a ball and give up. It was more like hiking with a friend who knew everything about the history and the area. Great quality service from start to finish. We highly recommend.
I had such a great experience wi try this company. 2 wonderful day in some of the most epic places I have ever seen. I wanna thanks my tour guide Josè, such a great person, he was helpful from the beginning until the end and was really prepared about Machi Picchu providing all the necessary informations The tour is simply amazing, organized at the perfection. All the transportation LS were covered including the panoramic train, the hotel and the food they provided it was delicious. Thanks! 5 stars
Truly unforgettable place, 2Days tour is perfect. Real thanks to our super-star guide Jhony, trip was greater with him, we've incountered several unexpected things like delayed train, extra routes, etc., and thanks to Johny all was sorted out very well, we felt we were in the right hands.
It was a great experience!! The first day is a little bit hard, as there's a lot of walking going up the mountain, but the experience and the views are stunning. There's no other option to see all of that, if not like this. Luis was our guide and he was perfect with us. Knows a lot about history and made us comfortable all the time.
The trip was greatly organized and well explqined in advance. Jose Luis was a great guide, very knolagable and knew how to manage the group perfectly. I enjoyed every minute of it
The experience was incredible. 6.5 mile in Inca trail for the first day and 2 hour tour in Machu Picchu for 2nd day. Guides William and Jose are amazing! Learn a lot of knowledge and history. Recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous trek to the ruins of Macho Picchu. Dan the man was an excellent guide. Encountering other groups I was so happy to be in his group. Very informed and excellent skills in making our hike rewarding, interesting and worthy of a visit to a world destination.
We did the 2 day Inca trail trip and had an amazing time and would definitely recommend the tour. The views and scenery are spectacular and definitely worthwhile…but do keep in mind the hike is steep and not easy (even though it is paved the whole way). The real highlight was our guide Roger. We went as a couple on a private tour and one of us really struggled within the first hour with altitude sickness. At this point I thought there was zero chance we’d be able to do the hike. Roger however stayed very calm and patient and over a period of probably 2-3 hours in the first hike persisted with various techniques to help overcome it. This allowed us to complete the hike and have a great time in the second half when we both felt much better! He was a real credit to the company and we can’t recommend him highly enough. Also worth mentioning his great knowledge of all the sites, scenery, history and local traditions that we both enjoyed learning about. He was also great company during dinner and lunch. Final thing to mention is that trexperience is locally owned and the guides seem very happy working for the company. Something we consider important when picking a tour.
I’m just coming back from this trip and realistically, this may be my best trip ever. The scenery is unbelievable, the support and service is great and TreXperience has been helpful as well. Monica, our tour guide though, made all the difference. I’d ask for her if you have the option. The trek is not a walk in the park, but it’s very doable. Once you get to Machu Picchu though, every little pain is forgotten. Unseen, would highly recommend
Filio is an amazing tour guide with a fun personality and big heart. He really makes sure you are enjoying your experience & he is full of knowledge and smiles
It was amazing, our guides José and Alex did a great job. Very interesting explanations and stories. I would definitely recommend booking through them. Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu were great.
We decided to go with TreXperience due to the great reviews they were having and we were not disappointed. We got a personalized private tour, where we were picked from Ollantaytambo instead of Cusco, and did first the 1 day short Inca trail starting from in 104 and ending in Aguas Calientes and the next day we visited Machu Picchu including Wayna Picchu. We were people from all ages (65 the oldest and 28 the youngest) and our 2 amazing tour guides kept us all always safe and in good speed. We managed to enter the IntiPunku(sun gate) with sun and had an impressive view of Machu Picchu. Also the very steep Wayna Picchu was not an issue for our guides to help us all get to the top and down safely. We appreciated the explanations all the way about the sites but also about the flora and fauna of the place as well as the insights into Peruvian culture. Thank you Jose and Alex for the great experience!
