My daughter and I just finished the 4D/3N Inca Jungle Trek with Vidal Expeditions and had an amazing experience from booking to the end of trip. Pickup in Cusco, Hotel Accommodations, Meals and our train/private car back to Cusco all worked out perfectly with our jammed packed schedule. Chino was our guide and was amazing, we talked about Peru life in comparison to life in the US over meals, he took into account my being out of shape and the high altitude allowing us to shift some of the activities for the Day 2 and Day 3 to still make it enjoyable. The experience and his knowledge up at Machu Picchu was perfect to finish our last day in Peru where he sent us off with a hug and plans to send us pictures that he took for us. Would highly recommend.

We used Vidal Expeditions for our trip to Machu Pichu. Amaru was our guide and he made it an unforgettable trip. We fully enjoyed the mountain biking, the white water rafting, the ziplining (monkey style position :-D ) and of course the hiking. Amaru's company, knowledge and sense of humour was top class and on top we were really impressed with some of the accomodation and local restaurants selected. Really worth mentioning was the Bella Victoria Ecolodge and the Kat Café in Santa Teresa was impressive. Happy to give our best recommendations to Vidal for this awesome expedition.
We have done the Inca Jungle Trail with Vidal Expeditions, it was four amazing days with biking, rafting, hiking, zip lining and exploring Machu Picchu. One of the best journey I ever had. The company included everything for us, from the extra activities to the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu (Circuit 2). Our guide was very knowledgeable, he always looked after us. The food was great and varied. I am very happy to had chosen the Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu with VE and his team. 100% recommended!
We had a great 3 day 2 night and private experience at the jungle trek to machu picchu with this well organized company. Thank you
What a great time we had on the Inca Jungle trail to Machu Picchu. It was four days with a variety of adventures of what we did on the way to Machu Picchu. The tour started with mountain biking, descending from 4,300 meters towards the high jungle, passing stunning landscapes, followed by water rafting. Day two was mostly hiking in the forest and some stops in the houses of local families where we learned about the coffee farms and cacao trees. We finished the hike at the thermal baths. Well deserved! Day three we flew in the zip line and hiked to Aguas Calientes town, this section was kind of pretty walk following the train track. Day four, the most important day, we had a guided tour in Machu Picchu. We had the first schedule for the entrance and enjoyed a magical sunrise moment in Machu Picchu, explored the highlights and learned about the history. I highly recommend the Inca Jungle Trail and what a great way to do it with Vidal Expeditions, all included in your package.
I did the Inca Jungle Trek with Vidal Expeditions last week of May. Our guide was Francisco who was excellent, he provided us with all the information that we needed before, during and after the tour. Always smiling and very patient. Biking tour during the first day were awesome, we descended around 38km from the Andes mountains to the lush forest, and the views are breathtaking. Rafting in Santa Maria was great with professional instructors, for my first time it was great experience. We hiked for several hours on the second day that allowed us to visit and learn from the locals who showed us their coffee farming culture, Francisco told us the Inca history. Zip-line on the third day also was fun, and the hike beside the train tracks was gorgeous. We visited Machu Picchu in the final day through the circuit 2 and had great time. Definitely the service was more than I expected. Traveling alone is a big complication to finding a group for this tour, but thanks to Vidal Expeditions and Francisco I had a great time with the group along the Inca Jungle Trek, this was my favourite tour in South America. .
A wonderful tour to Machu Picchu! We had the pleasure of being led by Vidal, who is the owner of this company. He is an excellent guide and friend who helped us organise all the details for our tour. We decided on the Inca Jungle Trail because this was a combination of different activities such as mountain biking, water rafting, hiking, and zip-lining. Vidal Expeditions did a great job providing us with what they had offered us. Pick up from the hotel on the first day; transportation, bike, and equipment were provided in good condition; raf and zip were very safe with professional instructors; our accommodations were always private and with a bathroom; food along the tour was varied and with local ingredients. All included services were provided during this tour: tickets, a guide, transportation, extra activities, and a train ticket. It was more than what I expected. Honestly, Vidal Expeditions offered great service during this four-day trip. Highly recommended!!
The Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu was one of my favorite tours in Cusco. From the beginning to the end, it was well organized, especially the guide, Urbano, making this an experience of a lifetime. We took the full package, which includes the extra activities rafting and ziplining; these were very fun. We did biking from the high altitude to the lush forest, where the landscapes changed drastically from dry and cold mountains to want and rainforest. Rafting was great even for me, who doesn't know how to swim, but the guides were very professional. Hiking for several hours in the forest was also great; it was not a very demanding hike due to the many stops on the way. Zipline and Machu Picchu were great; we had the best guide with us who took incredible photos on the way and provided such great information. Highly recommend this tour to everyone and get Urbano as your guide.
We chose the Inca Jungle tour with TERRA QUECHUA and it was an excellent choice. From the exciting biking down the mountains to the rafting and ziplining adventures, every part of the trip was full of excitement and discovery. The jungle hike was an educational experience, with a guide who shared his knowledge of the local fauna and flora. We really enjoyed the natural hot springs, which allowed us to relax after days full of activities. The visit to Machu Picchu was the highlight of the trip, leaving us with unforgettable memories.
A wonderful adventure tour to Machu Picchu along the Inca Jungle Trail. We had an amazing time on our Inca Jungle Trail expeditions. Vidal and Jose Antonio went above and beyond to make our time on the trek and our visit to Machu Picchu the best it could possibly be. Day one involved mountain biking and whitewater rafting. Both activities were so much fun (even for me, who has never done these). The bikes were in great condition, and Jose, our guide, supported us the entire experience. We also stayed in some beautiful lodges along the way, where we were treated to amazing food. Day two involved hiking through the forest and across the side of the mountains with some stunning views. We learned so much about Inca history and local life and tasted incredible jungle fruits as well as coffee. Jose took us to different water falls, where we saw some wildlife of the area, including snakes, frogs, and many birds. We ended this trip in the hot spring, where we relaxed our tired bodies after hiking for more than 6 hours. Day three was more relaxed; we enjoyed the zipline on different cables in the valley, followed by a couple hours of hiking along the railway until we reached Aguas Calientes town. Jose explained to us about the area and gave us a chance to see a bit of Machu Picchu. We were so excited to be close to it. And the important day comes when we finally arrive at Machu Picchu. It obviously doesn't need to be described how incredible this was. Honestly, this local company, Vidal Expeditions, adds extra details to make your journey totally different from other operators in Cusco. A small group of maximum eight people allowed us to have more connection with nature, learn more about the area, have more time visiting each place, and don't wait too long during the different activities. Jose Antonio was a super guide who has always been attentive to everyone in the group. The food was the most varied that I have ever tried during any other trip. I could not recommend this tour more!
We had an incredible experience on the 4 day Inca trail trek. Vidal was an amazing guide and Vicente and his team of cooks and porters made the journey so much more accessible by carrying our gear and cooking our meals. They even provided special attention when I had altitude sickness symptoms for about 24 hours which got me through to the end. Vidal has an amazing depth of knowledge about the trails history, the various sites, and inca culture. This trip was challenging, fun, and rewarding. If I am ever to do another similar trip in South America, I won't call anyone else.
This was an absolutely amazing experience. Vidal and his team are incredible, and I can’t recommend them enough. Bisete was our cook and the meals always left us full and happy. The food tasted incredible, and the scenery of the hikes was beautiful. Vidal seemed to know everything you could ask about the Incan culture, and would always provide us with interesting facts along the way. The service and experience was 10/10 and I’m so happy to have made such great new friends on this journey. Thank you to Vidal and his team for an unforgettable trip.
We had incredible days during the hike to Machu Picchu through the Inca Jungle 4-Day with our guide Junior, we enjoyed the cycling from the high mountain down to the forest thought incredible bus route, we stop a few time to capture the best moments and see how the huge mountains turn in green lush forest. Whitewater rafting with Juanca was the best, we had some fun while we Raf down in the rapids. This was my first rafting tour in all my entire life :) Hiking in the forest and visit some local farms and learn their traditions also was great, we got some fresh fruits and prepared our own coffee and chocolate so yummy!! The views were espectacular from the Inca Trail...We ended up the hike in the thermal baths. Zipline and Machu Picchu were amazing, stunning views, fantastic history and great guides. We had nice time by exploring those places. Definitely will back to do again this trip in the future.
I highly recommend this tour! It was a lot of fun and a once in a lifetime experience! Vidal and Urbano were very helpful and accommodating. Due to unexpected weather conditions, I decided to delay my tour by a day so Vidal organised a day excursion for me to do in the meantime. I was well looked after by Urbano who provided such good service. To due to my delay and other factors, Vidal arranged for me to join a group who were doing a similar tour to me but with a different tour company - this meant I wasn't doing my tour alone which I really appreciated. This did slightly affect how smooth the tour was run at some points due to differences in activity and accommodation providers, but I was always safe and got the experience I paid for. I think the tour does usually run a lot smoother in normal circumstances. All the activities were thoroughly enjoyable, even for me as someone who had never done white-water rafting before. I also added Huayna Picchu to my tour which Vidal arranged for me. I'd highly recommend hiking up this small mountain as it's a great way to enjoy views of Machu Picchu and its surroundings in a less crowded environment. If you're thinking about doing this tour I say go for it! And if you're not sure, I found Vidal to be super helpful and responsive when I contacted them with all my questions.
I did the Inca Jungle to Machu Picchu and honestly the four-day adventure was 5/5 from the booking til the drop off they lookef after us. The guide Jose was very knowledgeable about the circuit in general. The food and accommodation very good and clean. We did raf and zipline which was the highlights of this trip, very professional instructors and safety was the priority. Thank you very much Vidal Expeditions and your team for the magnificent experience in the Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu.
We have done the Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu for 4 days; it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience from beginning to end. Mountain biking was awesome—26 miles going down to the forest and some incredible views. Whitewater rafting with some rapids and great instructors Hiking into the forest, we visited some local families and their lands. After a few hours of hiking, we have reached the hot springs (a great way to relax). The zipline and the last hike were also fun, and Machu Picchu at the end of the trip is what makes it totally different from other treks. Overall, the whole trip was a life-changing experience, and Vidal Expeditions is the best team ever along the route.
We have done the Inca Jungle Trail four-day to Machu Picchu with the extra activities included Raf & Zip. Our awesome guide was Chino we been excellent from the beginning to end, even during the extra activities he been with us taking photos, lot of information, very funny and patient, he always look after us during the entire trip. The food was awesome every day we got different varied and mostly these were fresh veggie ingredients. The accommodations were great as well, every couple got private room with private bathroom, these were clean and away of the noise village. Extra activities were really fun we recommend to include on your package although VE they will always include these. Machu Picchu was very nice, Chino took us super early to avoid the crowds and enjoy Machu Picchu with not many people, this is highly recommend. Vidal Expeditions organize very well this trip and entire group were happy to have chosen then as our tour operator, very responsible and professional wit their customers. Thank you Chino for an amazing experience in Peru, we definitely will recommend you and VE.
This was the best adventure I could’ve imagined! Chino was our guide and he made the trip so special. He was very patient and always made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. I am so grateful we chose Vidal Expeditions! I would highly recommend their company!
Inca Jungle trek with Chino! We just back from the Jungle trek 4-day to Machu Picchu. Honestly it was an experience of the lifetime, from the beginning to end Vidal Expeditions made everything sellado organized during the tríp. Extra activities whitewater rafting and zip line were incredible and fun. Food and accommodations always great, and Chino our guide told us all the history about the Incas and many jokes. I definitely will back to choose again these team.
Inca Jungle Trek!! We did ths tour a few days ago, Vidal Expeditions organized everything for us from the beginning to end they were professional, bus, bikes, food, hotels along the route were great , however they need to work more in the lodge of the first day, ;) Our guide was Chino who been amazing, very experienced guide whit lot of knowledge about the history and area. very attentive and patient, he always been looking after us during these 4 days of adventures. The extra activities raf & zip were great lot of fun! The hotel in the last day was awesome, it makes us happy to rest in comfortable bed before to explore Machu Picchu, this is great to rest properly before such an incredible day. If I will back to travel to Peru definitely I will choose Vidal Expeditions!
Excellent!! Had an excellent time with Vidal Expeditions, they were very organized and had everything taken care of, they even walked to our hotel to pick us up because the van couldn't fit in the street. Our guide Marco was fantastic more that what we expected, very knowledgeable, kind, took tons of photos for us and shared his traditions with us. VE very lucky to have him as part of their team. 5 of 5 stars! Book with VE if you want to have great experience!
Vidal Tours offers personalized tour experience with a well planned itinerary and experienced guides who are glad to work with you on any needs that may arise. This clearly distinguishes them from the larger tour companies. Communication all along the way was superb. Roger, our tour guide, was able to coordinate perfect lunch spots, help keep us on track with the schedule, organize all transportation between multiple spots on the tour, and was all around an awesome, friendly person we loved hanging out with. He was even able to help us get COVID-19 tests in a pinch within 24 hours of boarding our return flight to the US. Vidal tours has local connections to restaurants, hotels, and recreational companies throughout the region, and puts together a perfect itinerary for each trip. The personalized touches from our guide including food recommendations, tips on what to expect at each step, and any safety considerations all along the way. We did the 3 day / 2 night jungle trek which included white water rafting, zip lining, hiking through the forest, mountain biking, and finally a trek up to Machu Picchu at the end. We could not be happier with Roger and the whole team at Vidal Expeditions. We will definitely choose them again for our next trip to Peru!
This was an incredible aventure in the Peruvian Jungle, since the begin to end Vidal Expeditions has organized very well every details (transport, guides, meals, camping and team) they worked hard to create unforgettable experience for us. Our guide Roger made even better during our hike, he knows very well the Incas history and traditions in this area. The hotel on the last night before to explore Machu Picchu was great and we were happy to rest comfortable after 3 days of full adventure. I am more than satisfied to have chosen Vidal Expeditions as our local tour operator.
Incredible experience!! We were 2 people who took the service of Vidal Expeditions, and we did the adventure tour through the Inca Jungle 4 days to Machu Picchu, this tour combines different activities along the route. BIKING, this was amazing descending from the mountains over 14,130ft to the semi-tropical rain-forest area, our group was leaded by Chino who was incredible guide looking after us every time, the water rafting was fun with some rapid in the river, the instructor always making joke and fun, I had never done the rafting before, however these guys kept me safe while been in the river. HIKING, through the dense jungle visiting some local families with their farm land was different kind of experience that we have learned some local custom. Nice view from the Inca trail and great histories, The best thing of the second day was to end the hike at the hot spring SO GOOD TO RELAX!! ZIPLINE, we have flown over the valley via zipline with stunning views, afraid to the altitude? NO worries, these guys know very well about this activity and they will make you feel safe. they are very professional and with good standard equipment. MACHU PICCHU, this is the best way to end your journey with incredible views of Machu Picchu, the new seven wonders, our guide took us there super early to avoid the crowds and enjoy Machu Picchu with not many people, we had guided and we have heard the history of this place. I highly recommended!
My friend and me have been in the Inca Jungle tour with Jhonatan, he made a lifetime journey hiking and join the extra activities (rafting &zipline) the organization was great the same as the food and accommodations. We got private room and towels on the hot spring which was a plus of them. Our tour guide Jhonatan always very attentive and helpful, his knowledge about the Incas history and the area was good enough for this journey. It worth to take Vidal Expeditions as your tour operator and even better when they take small group more personalized during your trip. The Vidal Expeditions plus : Private room in the hostels and a hotel in Aguas calientes Towels at the hot spring Extra activities included Small group guarantee Great tour guides I highlight recommend this company and Jhonatan as your tour guide!
We had amzing experience with Vidal Expeditions hiking on the Inca Jungle trail 4 day to Machu Picchu, professional, well organized, social responsible, and fun tour company, our grupo had a wonderful time with our guide Guido. The tours are little bit more expensive than others but that ensures that the guides, meals, and accommodations are really good and well prepared, we had our own private room with private bathroom which the nicer things with VE. Also the equipment were in good conditions and they highlight is that Vidal Expeditions provided us a towel while we are enjoying the hot-spring that was such nice thing for us. it means we did not take with us the towel from Cusco, the same every day we found towel in our room. I recommend this company for any tour in Cusco, they are very professional with all customers. I'd definitely chose Vidal Expeditions again in the future.
I did the Inca Jungle trail with them, this was such a nice experience with various activities along the route, we started the tour with cycling from over 4300m down to the valley each corner had incledible view and while we were descending we saw how the scenery turn grean and more rainforest area, white river rafting in Urubamba river with some rapids was super fun even more with these incredible guys. The next days we hike through the Inca Trail visitin some local families who shared with us their traditions, also we visted part of the original Inca trail, our guide Niko explained very well about each of them, third day was the zipline and short hike to Machu Picchu town and the last day we had stunninig views of the magical Machu Picchu, we just got there early and had this incredible place only for us, and enjoy in a plenty time each area. Vidal Expeditions team made of this experience a best journey in South America, I hightlight recommend to everyone.
INCREDIBLE!! We just return from the Inca Jungle trail 4 days, we had various activities along this tour mountain bike, white water rafting, hiking through the rainforest visiting some local families, the end of our hike was on the hot spring the best way to relax your muscles after the hike. We have fun on the zipline and Machu Picchu at the end of the jouney was incredible. We couldn't see really well Machu Picchu in the morning but after to wait little bit we had the chance to capture the best moment for our life, Machu Picchu appeared out of the mist what a nice moment. Definitely VE create memorable experience along their tour. If you are looking for a good company who takes care about you and your family along each trip GO with them for sure you will LOVE THEM!!!
Incredible days in the Jungle trail to Machu Picchu. We took the tour of Vidal Expeditions with everything included also the extra activities(Rafting & Zipline) at the beginning we thought the price is little higher comparing the rest of the companies who do the same tour. However it was more personalized tour. Firstly, they have great bikes in good conditions, all the gears works well, comparing that the other group we so align the route they had some issues while they were cycling down to the jungle. Second, Our guide called Antonio was the best tour guide ever we have during our South America journey, he was very passionate about his job even with the rain he is always smiling and positive attitude, also he is very knowledgeable about the area and culture, we really been lucky to have him as our guide. Thirdly, all the meals which we got along the tour were awesome fresh, local ingredients, and lot of vegetables, each meal comes with the appetizer and dessert which was lot of food for us :) even they made a cake for a member of the group who was his birthday. Fourth, the accommodations each nice was comfortable, small and mostly clean that is the most important thing that everybody look for when they left their home. Our room always had private bathroom with hot shower and it was open area with nice views. Finally, they organized very well everything since the tickets always on the right time to have incredible views along the route and Machu Picchu, even they were the only one who gave us the options take the Vistadome returning train with awesome views and the best Zipline company which was very professional and safe. We didn’t hike up to Machu Picchu because Vidal Expeditions included us the bus ticket round trip so we avoid the hardest part of this trail. Honestly this is one of the best company that we found on our different tours in Perú, they really take care about small details since you contact them the first time. We definitely will take again them in case we'll return to Peru, and for sure we are recommending them for everyone who want to leave an incredible experience in Cusco and Peru. Big thanks to everyone of this company specially to Antonio who made the best journey of this trip. Gwen California, USA
We had unbelievable days hiking through the Inca Jungle trek with Vidal Expeditions, our guide was Urbano and he couldn't have been better- His knowledge of Peruvian history was phenomenal as was his sense of humor and ability to guide and lead a rather rambunctious group on the jungle trail for 3 nights and 4 days all the way to Machu Picchu. The different activities to do along this tour makes incredible experience for everyone who loves the adventure, biking from 4300m to 2000m is one of the highlight. White water rafting with various rapids along the river, hiking into the forest visiting some local families and learn their life, and finish this hike on the hot spring is very lovely, Zipline and Machu Picchu also was amazing. I truly cannot recommend Vidal Expeditions enough (Especially Urbano) he is the best guide in South America.
We loved this 4 days tour to Machu Picchu, our guide Steven was the best ever we had. Since the first time we met with him he was really good friend and professional tour guide he was extremely knowledgeable, went above and beyond, and was extremely attentive with making sure that everyone had a great time, the accomodations were good enough to have nice time, these were always private for us, we only been 5 people in our group small enough to enjoy every part of the adventure, that is the best thing of Vidal Expeditions small group/ big speriences, they organized everythign very well, even with the rain we had incredible times with Steven. Thanks one more time for this lifetime experience.
Have just returned from the Inca jungle trek with our guide, Marco. My mate and I had the best 4 days of our trip so far. If you don't feel like hiking fo 4/5 days straight this is the trek for you. So many great activities, from biking to rafting. Our guide was amazing as well, he spoke great English, and explained the history of the sites/trails we wallked and was always happy to help. The icing on the cake was seeing Machu Picchu on the final day!! Great food, supporting local restaurants. Great, clean, simple accomodation the first day, however the next following days it was perfect. Very affordable for those on a budget. I definitely recommend to everyone Vidal Expeditions and the Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu, you'll give me the thanks later.
A huge thank you for this amazing trip with amazing guide Chino. After doing this for so many years he still have the energy to share all his knowledge with every single group as if it was the first one. Every single moment was blast with him. Could never thank you enough for what you did for us along the trail, the Machu Picchu will stay the best memory of my trip!! Everything very well organized from the beginning to the end always taking care about the small details. Tickets and accommodations were well organized, the same as entire food along the trip.
Had an amazing time during my trip to Machu Picchu, I took the service of Vidal Expeditions for the Inca Jungle trek with our guide Chino, he was very professional tour guide from the beginning to the end, Vidal the owner of the company was a kind person who organized everything for us, they pick up us from the airport without any charge. The Inca jungle trek is one of the most adventure tour i had ever experienced in my life, cycling from the Andes to the jungle it was such amazing experience, the highlight was the white rafting with excellent rapids, following by hiking throung the ancient Inca trail full of history and culture. hot spring and the ziplining also were fun...Machu Picchu en the end of this tour maked an incredible journey in Peru, Chino guided us early morning to enjoy the sunrise and avoid the crowd and had Machu Picchu only for us. The accommodations begin with a basic hostel in Santa Maria, and turned better in Santa Teresa and the hotel in Machu Picchu town was perfect to end this trip. Honestly worth to pay little bit more than the others companies and have incredible experience... remeber if you search for less price you will get basic service, this is a holiday so enjoy as best as possible.
I had chance to do the Inca Jungle trail 4 days to Machu Picchu with the extra activities, Rafting and Zipline, Vidal Expeditions complied with what was offered in their package, the service was more than i expected, my friend and I had a great experience during these 4 days hike with Jhon as our guide , we were only 5 people in the group that was a surprise for us, we thought it would be more than 10 people however it was such a fantastic group for us, we felt as private group with a great service, They included everything for us, the extra activities, hot spring fees, bus / train transport and Machu Picchu fees, we did not pay for anything else except for our drinks, So it was such a big difference between other companies along the tour. Our guide Jhon, a super hero for us, he was knowledgeable and very informative during the tour, we felt safe in his hands. The whole meals were great, I am still surprised about the varied of meals for vegetarian option which they have, my friend is gluten free and also made great foods for her. Accommodations were perfect, always private room with its private bathroom that was such a extra point for them. It was clean and only for us, Jhon made of this trip and incredible experience. I'll definitely recommend this trip to everyone and for sure Jhon of Vidal Expeditions .
We booked the 4/3 days Inca Jungle Tour with Vidal Expeditions and couldn't have been happier. Everything was very well organized and executed. Our guide Toño was fantastic, he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and share his passion for his culture and Peruvian history with us. The meals were all amazing and the accommodations were nice. This tour is slightly more expensive than some of the other tours we came across but it is well worth it. Highly recommended!
I just come backfrom the Inca Jungle trail 4 days to Machu Picchu. A friend of mine had recommended this outdoor adventure when he heard I was planning a trip to Peru. The adventure was over and above my expectations, the adventures, the actual visit to Machu Picchu and our Guide Raul Fuentes were all positive and this was a trip of a life time. We had a small group 5 of us and Raul made sure all of us were taken care of and did his best to make sure we all had a positive experience, he succeeded. I would highly recommend this adventure and would not go to Machu Picchu without a guide. This adventure included biking, river rafting, zip lining, hiking and educational discussions about the Inca culture. Vidal Expeditions team worked hard to turned our dreams into reality, even with this pandemic they been always in communication with us, worth it to take their tour and for sure you will get an experience of lifetime. Noreen.
Today i finished my Inca Jungle trail wiht Vidal Expeditions, it was very well organized since the booking way until the end the trip. I took the 4 day/3 night trek and activities to Machu Picchu. The trip was wonderful and I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure tours. Our guide, Chino, was the best. He shared such great knowledge about the area, culture, activities and environment. His guidance helped everyone to have a wonderful experience. The first day we rode the bikes down the mountain and Chino stopped us at several wonderful spots for photos, breaks for water and snacks and to share knowledge about the area. The afternoon was spent doing white river rafting. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were absolutely wonderful with several courses. Chino made sure special dietary needs were met for a group member’s health issues. The second day was a long day of hiking at elevations and heights that were both amazing and challenging. Chino made each group member feel successful and provided guidance to make the day great with an end at the hot springs to make our muscles feel better. The third day started with zip lining over the beautiful tree tops and river. The last ride was a Superman position with the harness on backwards. Unknown to us Chino recorded each of us coming in to the final platform. This was just one example of Chino’s special attention and care for the members of the group. The rest of the morning and afternoon were spent hiking through the jungle, visiting Inka construction sites and getting our first sight of Machu Picchu. We had a very special meal that night and wonderful fellowship before the next day at Machu Pichu. The day at Machu Pichu was fabulous, and after the 3 day trek to get there it was even more meaningful. This was an experience that I will never forget and was so much more than we expected. I can not recommend the Vidal Expeditions Experience enough and please request Chino as he will make your trip an unforgettable experience. Thank you much guys to create experience of lifetime.
I have done the 4 day jungle trek to Machu Picchu with activities. Booked this as a solo traveller and ended up with the most wonderful group of people. Our guide, Antonio, came across as genuinely passionate about his culture and country. Knowledgable and really put in the work to make it a special and unique experience for us. Had the perfect mix of wild nature, adventure, culture and fun people since the bus driver, guide, people of each hotel and each family visited along the trail We, as a group, liked our guide so much that we are meeting up with him a few days after the end of our trip and he's taking us to one of his favourite Cusco local restaurants. and finally we over it a great local bar. I would highly recommend this trip and Vidal Expeditions to make of it an experience of life time for sure choose to Antonio as your tour guide.
Mucho gracias, Chino! Wow! What an adventurous and memorable 4 days. Communication was seamless pre booking and pre arrival. Lots of walking / hiking. Make sure you only bring what is required. During briefing pre trip you will get a list of things you need. If you are backpacking, bring a small backpack in addition to your 65L or so backpack and leave most of your stuff at your hostel / hotel. All accommodations were great. Clean, HOT water, comfy beds, and tasty homemade meals. Here’s my experience: Day in parentheses: Biking (1), rafting (1), hiking through jungleish terrain and Inca Trail (2), zip lining (3), hiking (3), and Machu Picchu (4). Distance I logged on my phone (not always the best pedometer): Day 1: 2.7 Miles, Day 2: 17.8 Miles, Day 3: 14.1 Miles, Day 4: 9.2 Miles There is an option to take a taxi after lunch on day 2 but we didn’t. There is an option to take a train to basecamp on day 3 but we didn’t. There is an option to take a bus up to Machu Picchu but we hiked the trail instead. Depending on your physical shape, keep those travel options open to reduce walking / hiking because the sun and your gear will wear you out. I recommend compression shorts, compression knee sleeves, and a dry fit kind of shirt. Your clothes don’t really dry at night because of the humidity so it’s easy to just hand wash your undies and shirt so you don’t have to carry unnecessary clothes. Terrain can be uneven so lightweight hiking shoes or tennis shoes with firm soles are best. My guide was Chino and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant the entire trip. If you love nature, exercising, hiking, and history - BOOK THIS TOUR ASAP! You won’t regret it. Peru is one of my favorite countries in the world. Clean (surprisingly very clean), friendly, safe, and affordable. Safe travels, ciao!!
The trek was just incredible and Jose, our guide, was just the best! We had so much fun spending those days to discover nature in Peru with such a passionate person as Jose was! Among the different guides we had through our trip in Peru, he was definitely the BEST! He knows everything about every detail and share it with such motivation and humor...! Unfortunately, one friend in our group felt very very sick due to the altitude. The whole problem was pretty well handled by our guide. This trek will definitely remain one of the highlights of our trip in Peru! Plus we were lucky enough to be only the 5 of us in the group, not seeing many tourists along the way (except for Machu Picchu City and while visiting Machu Picchu...of course!) Thanks!
I had the chance to do the Inka jungle trek before the Covid-19 appears, we decided for Vidal Expeditions because we read really good reviews on TripAdvisor, and definitely was the right choice, since the beginning they were really professional they pick us up in the airport, the night before to start our trip they came to our hotel to provide us all the details (briefing) about the tour, it was completely clear we knew what to bring and don’t carry extra things. The first day of the tour they pick up in our hotel on time our guide Frank was really good, biking was my favorite I never had experience cycling 45 miles on the mountains, it was spectacular. Unfortunately we couldn’t do rafting because the river was high but we had time to go to explore amazing lake up to the town. Second day sincerely was great with unforgettable views along the hike, visiting some local families who show us what is the tradition in the rainforest area. I saw different wild animals (monkey, parrots, snakes, butterflies, ginea pig, etc.) our guide Frank explain us about the vegetation’s growing in this area, he alway was really good history teller and really professional we felt safe in his hands. Day three, had chance to do Zipline one of my favorite in this tour the guys are kind and professional doing their job and the gears were save and guaranteed, also we hike beside of the train truck with rivers in our right side. Day four finally we arrived our distinction Machupicchu, thanks to Vidal Expeditions and Frank we got the best view of Machupicchu which was before it get crowded I think that is why this company is responsible to arrive on time and get best views (better that other groups) our guide Frank explain us about the Machupicchu history... We had enough time to explore by ourselves this amazing place. Overall everything was very well organized the meals, the accommodation ( I got private room for me) all our tickets, and extra activities, honestly appreciate to Frank and all Vidal Expeditions team for such amazing experience in the jungle trek was more than i expected. Definitely I am going to recommend to all my friends!
We did the jungle trek with our friend Chino as our tour guide he was really knowledgeable and professional he always been patient. The organization was perfect starting from the pick up time in Cusco city, the transport, the accommodation was great always clean, private and safe, the meals were wonderful variety and delicious, we had the best 4 days of our life along this tour. Really thanks to Chino for this amazing experience and Vidal Expeditions to make real one of our dream to see Machupicchu with a lot of adventures. We highly recommend Vidal Expeditions to everyone.
Booking a tour from overseas can be a little nerve racking, which is why I was so glad a friend had used Vidal's Tours prior and could give us a good recommendation. We had a great time on the Inka Jungle Trail. It was the perfect combo of adventure, hiking, fun and hard work for our group. The guides were excellent; friendly and aimed to please. Had I been traveling alone, I probably would have chosen to do the traditional Inka Trail for the triumphiant feeling we had arrived. However, traveling with all different levels of abilities & comforts, the Inka Jungle Trail was still challenging enough to keep my interest, but laid back enough for everyone to enjoy. Overall, a fantastic experience! i recommed Vidal Expeditions to everubody.
I did the jungle trip with Carlos who was our best guide he was awesome always atentive and smilling the accommodations were great clean and safe and meals was varied with local products the only thing is they need to work in the hot shower these didnt work the first 2 nights, everithing was well organized since the pick up to the drop off highly recommended for everybody.

We have done the Jungle trek to Machupicchu 4 days it was great experience with our guide Jair he did a excellent job the biking 45km downhill to the jungle was amazing great views around the mountains the river rafting was perfect to to finish the hot day we hiked on the ancient trial with great views and finished it on the hotspring, zipline was fun the instructores were professional and Maxhupicchu the last day was wonderful... The meals and accommodations were great always clean and safe. Jair made of it a lifetime experience always ask for Jain and Vidal Expeditions.,
Chino was our guide on this trip...but guide is putting it lightly. He was a catalyst in our family transformation. Me my wife and our 8 year old son all grew as individuals, and grew closer as a family unit. The trail was fun yet challenging, and Chino helped to keep us motivated with his endless stories on history (Spanish, Inca, Egyptian, etc.) and local culture. The man is a WEALTH of information!! We learned to be happy with the simple things life has to offer...a lesson often missed in a rushed city life (at least it is with us). Adrenalin pumping activities like zip lining and rafting are obviously included in this jungle adventure, but others not listed as well. Meeting local people who live and farm in the jungle, eating fruit growing wild on trees, friendly dogs EVERYWHERE, napping in a hammock after lunch. Simply hiking some parts of the trail elevate many of the the senses with new sights and smells and sounds. Small pit stops in the jungle provide ample opportunities to rest and take it all in, as well to buy water and snacks (don’t need to bring a camelback water bladder). I’ve been all over the world and taken many tours in my 40years. I can say hands down this is an absolutely professional company with top notch guides. THIS is the way you need to see Peru and Machu Pichu!! With this company and THIS jungle adventure! You will not be disappointed.
Chino was our guide on this life changing experience. With an 8 year old on this trek we did not know how it was going to go. Turns out Chino made it safe and fun Every step of the way. The trek was challenging at times and intimidating because of the heights and steepness but Chino helped my son feel confident and gave my husband and I space to push ourselves through it. Chino was full of surprises with stops along the way that allowed us to be with locals and have a real feel for the jungle and mountain towns. The stops allowed us to not be tired and refuel. Every question was addressed with knowledge and lots of history. As we hiked Chino carved a hiking stick and flute for our son from bamboo and a stick! When we said good bye to Chino we all cried and are very thankful for the 4 days we spent together.
We did the Jungle trek with Jimmy who was excellent tour guide, the organization was perfect they were on time, they always answer the questions we had before to do the tour, Vidal the owner was professional and all the team there. The 4 days tour was more than perfect, five stars are not enough for them. They pick up us on time from the Hotel, the bus was safe, our tour guide Jimmy told us all the details along the tour, extra activities were the highlight of this tour with nice people and fun.. meals were variety and many local products and always ready when we arrived to lunch spots, Accommodations 5/5 we got private rooms and private bathroom every night and these were clean and safe. Machupicchu was great and we were lucky to had sunny day. Thanks Vidal Expeditions and we'll recommend to our friends.
