Humantay Lake 2 Day Trek With Sky Camp From Cusco

We picked this tour as it mentioned that it had a MAXIMUM of 10 participants (as we prefer small groups) but we were 19! We were the first to be picked up at 4.20am and spent the next 35/40mins picking up other people around Cusco. Therefore it added more time to the journey. It was a rough start but the rest of the day went as planned. Humantay lake is challenging but definitely worth it!

The tour operator was incredibly unorganized. They woke me up at 3:45am one day before because they didn’t know which day it was. They say they pick you up at the hotel, that is a lie. Someone comes and walks you to the spot where the van is parked (in our case, around 6 blocks). It says the tour is for maximum 15 people, and they were 20. The van was very old, the air conditioning didn’t work, in general, in a very poor condition. Both breakfast and lunch were disgusting. The tour guide was nice and helpful, the place is stunning, but use a different operator.

The Humantay Lagoon tour is really worth doing and the lagoon is spectacular when you arrive. The whole hike is about 12km round trip (3hrs total) and it is up quite a sustained gradient. If you’re not used to hiking at altitude, this could be quite a difficult trek. The day is quite long with stops for breakfast and lunch, so do bear that in mind. You will be gone for the whole day and the majority of time will be spent in the van. The tour is quite self led - you hike up and back independently and don’t have a lot of contact with the guide during the hike.

It was a fantastic experience travelling to Humantay Lake with them. They took a great effort in making our trip a memorable and a pleasant one. Due to COVID-19, they also took great care and maintained protocols. We felt very safe and we highly reccomend Machu Picchu Peru Tours.

This ciould not have been any better trip. The guide, the driver the locals who joined the hike every one were smiling and friendly. The food, both breakfast and lunch were exceptional. Certainly it was of a good value for money

Laguna Humantaty was always on my list and this was an exceptional tour, all thanks to Machu Picchu Peru Tiurs team for their assurance and positive attitude of the guide. Was not sure of this high altitude clkimb, it was very smooth with the expert tips and advise of the guide. Humantay is very scenic and beautiful.

Do not miss this incredible attraction just off Cusco. The turqoise lake is quite high and is quite an hike to reach but it is proceless. It was the best thing we saw in Peru. Absolutely pristine view. Our tour guide Savio, from Machu Picchu peru Tours was very nice and helpful too. An excellent day with a lot of fun!

A very merry trip. Luis is an mazing guide. Just the person who made all our things effortless. Laguna Humantay is a spectacular sight with a lot of pictursque sights on the way up. The breakfast and lunch they served were very delicious. We enjoed this trek.

Although the clomb up was somewhat ardous, Machu Picchu Peru Tours did a great job. The guide took good care of the group. The communication from the moment we bokked this tour online, was very perfect. The trip was one of the best experiences we had in Peru.

Joel is a wonderful guide with a great knowledge of Humantay and the trekking route. They were quick to reply to all my mails. We stopped for breakfast at Mollepata which was filling untill i got back for lunch. It was very smooth trip. The hike was somewhat challenging but absolutely worth.

The view and the sight of this turquoise lagoon was simply wow. Thanks to Fredy, my guide who was exceptionally well. Extremely kind and knowledgable with a great sense of humor and kindness. I applaud Machu Picchu Peru Tours for making this trip and unforgettable experience.

A serene and calm lagoon just on a day trip from Cusco. We had a great time. The hike was a bit tiring as we felt short of breath at high altitude, but Machu Picchu Peru Tours took great care of us. Thanks to Jorge.

Trip to Humantay was just next to Machu Picchu on my bucket-list, for the photos I had seen and the blogs i read. Booking this tour with Machu Picchu Peru Tours was just the right thing I did. The whole trip was extremely joyful. We were picked up early in the morning in a Sprinter. We drove for about two hours to Sorayapampa where we stopped for breakfast. I was served with a coca tea, rice, salad and avocado. Great meal to start the hike. We then drove a bit further to Mollepata from where we started the hike. Our guide was a gem of a person. He accomodated all our requests and never rushed. As we started hiking back to Mollepata, i felt a bit dizzy, he was quick to bring in a can of Oxy Shot which was of a great relief. From that point till I got back to my hotel, he was always besides me making sure that I was doing well.

We have an amazing experience with Machu Picchu Peru Tours. We did the day trip to Humantay Lake and we choose the private tour so we can be there before anybody else ... and we achieved our goal !!! Alex and Coco pick us up in a private and very confortable small van around 3:15am, we sleep very well in those fully reclinable seats , they stop to bathroom whenever we ask and Alex give us an amazing class of Inca culture, he is a great tour guide !!! We arrived to starting hike point at 6am , 90 minutes hike after we were at Humantay Lake and the best part is that we had all that beautiful scenery to our self. We spend about 2 hrs there , Alex did a beautiful Inca ritual and then we head back. Half way back we passed the first group of people heading up. Can't say enough about our private tour experience , will do it every time if I get to return one day.You paid a little more but is a excellent experience, in your own time. Julio Cesar the owner was extremely friendly and convincing right from the moment I walked in to their office. I booked my tour to the Humantay Lake with them which was a great experience. Julio my guide was just lovely with p`lenty of knowledge and fun.

Another tour I took with Machupicchu Peru Tour and I was happy. The remote guidance via Whatsapp, schedules, guides, and the landscapes are perfect. I really liked Lagoa Humanthay.

Excellent, the best option for taking excursions in Cusco!

Beautiful place, a challenging trail, you can go up walking or by horse, for the horse there is a fee, so you need to bring soles. The reward of the lagoon view on the climb is compensatory and the descent is super easy

Excellent experience with the agency on the excursion to Humantay Lake. From the beginning everything was very well organized: the transportation, the schedules, and the accompaniment throughout the entire tour. The guide was always attentive to the group, explained every detail to us, and made us feel very accompanied during the hike. Although the route can be demanding, the agency's organization made everything much more comfortable and safe. The company MachuPicchu Peru Tours is not reliable. They sold us a package with accommodation in the SKYCAMP with glass-roofed domes, but they placed us in another camp. When we complained about what happened, they did not bother to refund us. Their advance payment policy is intentional to make it difficult to refund in case of claims. They accommodated us in a place of inferior quality to what was promised. There were problems with the shower, limitations on the supply of firewood for the heater, and even toilet paper was replaced with napkins. I paid a high price to have the experience advertised in the brochure, and they gave us another place. They did not even bother to apologize and say that nothing is wrong.

We were a group of 12 people who booked all tours in Lima and Cusco with Machu Picchu Peru Tours and were super responsible and attentive with us. We enjoy all the tour guides and the experience of each place. On the tour of the Humantay Lagoon, we had a problem on the way as one of my companions lost his passport and the guide Erick was helping us until we could find him, another tour guide had found him and handed him over to the Ministry of Tourism. We really liked that gesture. Erick was attentive to the guide and although we arrived later on the Lagoon tour, he was understanding and patient with us. That tour is more than excellent. The Lagoon is a place that no one should miss when visiting Cusco. The agency again was present, complied and was very attentive to us. We will continue to recommend her and her guides, especially Erick who has a place in our heart!

The tour was challenging, but it's magical to get to the end! The professionalism of the agency is enormous, from the search for accommodation at the right time to the quiet around. The breakfast and lunch place has a beautiful view and everything very tasty! You can repeat at will! It is a very challenging course in terms of fitness, the climb is not complicated but tired, but when you arrive at the Lagoon everything is forgotten, it is a sight to see the lagoon under the snow covered hills.

It is a wonderful Treking, the view of the lagoon and its beautiful turquoise color is an enriching experience, I would do it again

Visiting this place is a wonderful thing, it has a demanding climb but you can arrive patiently and at your pace, I find the beauty of the place incredible.

It was very nice, very worth it and the guide (Sandro) was very attentive and careful with the whole team. I highly recommend everyone on TripAdvisor. The walk is a bit difficult due to the altitude but everyone in the group finished. If you do not have physical conditions and possible to ride a horse.

My experience on this tour was phenomenal, great punctuality and first class attention. Carlos our guide certainly makes the trip more interesting and enjoyable, the Lagoon is a beautiful place, it is worth knowing this wonderful place, plus the landscapes you can admire during the hike makes it even more spectacular.

The place is beautiful, if you do this excursion you have to take the walking route. Enjoy the weather, nature and listen to what the guides have to say. Excellent!!! The Veronica Guide has a good vibe and gave an excellent service I recommend 💯 the visit to the Humantai lagoon although it is strong the climb up the steep when you get to the place until tears come out.

A wonderful experience. There is no denying that we had a bit of concern about the mountain climb, but everything went perfect. They rented Creole horses to part of the group and the others went up on foot. At the end we walked a bit and found that beautiful turquoise lagoon. It feels incredible peace. We arrived early at the suggestion of our Guide Max and it was the best, because we were among the first. We took the cutest pictures and some explored the surroundings. It is very nice, and we enjoyed the experience enormously. The snowfall caps the landscape next to rocky mountains of the beautiful Andes.

The Humantay Lagoon was my favorite place I visited in Peru. It is a sacred and magical place. Wilson, our Guide, took the time to explain how Humantay is sacred to the locals and did a special activity for our group, in addition, he was always attentive to our well-being. The only reason I don’t put 5 stars is because our group was very large and the van we were transported in was not so comfortable, which prevented us from resting on the rides.

The hike is tired but worth it, the incredible mountain views, it is cold, you have to be prepared for the hike, the guides are friendly and help in all situations. Horses are rented to climb, which also look tired.

There are so many agencies in Cusco it's hard to pick one. After searching and consulting we chose Machu Picchu Peru Tours and I can say it was an excellent decision. Responsible, good communication and service. On this specific tour we were assigned Veronica as Guide and Don Fer as Pilot. Vero was aware that we were okay and any discomfort we could feel about the height, he gave us recommendations and Fernando is a very good driver. How they picked us up around 4am and it was cold, they gave us a blanket to cover up on the way out. It was a nice experience accompanied by an agency which he did not hesitate to recommend.

Amazing tour, something heavy the climb but when you reach the lagoon it is totally worth it! The buffet food we were given delicious and the attention of the Veronica Guide excellent, we highly recommend it ☺️
