What a wonderful experience. We literally only discovered this the night before the tour and I’m so glad we did. I was originally going to join the tour as a solo female, and would have felt thoroughly safe if I had. As it was, I managed to drag my Mum along with me and the guides were so helpful getting her on and off the horse which was a big worry for her! They really couldn’t have been more lovely, caring, and explaining so much about local culture to us. The horses themselves were gorgeous, clearly very well cared for, and great with beginners. Mine was a bit cheeky and wanted to go its own route, but the guides were fabulous when I got a bit scared!! Do prepare for a fair bit of standing around talking about the local area, I would suggest bringing a small snack and extra water (they do provide one small bottle). I would also suggest not having anything to rush back for as the tour is so thorough it can’t really stick to time. Hugely recommend – don’t miss out!

Itinerary
Inca agricultural centre where advanced cultivation techniques were applied. A place full of ancient wisdom.
Mystical place where the sacred duality of female and male energy is honored.
Stone-sculpted zoomorphic figures such as monkeys, snakes and toads stand out, representing forces of nature and spiritual aspects in the Andean worldview. Unlike other temples, the monkey is openly displayed, without the need for imagination to identify it, making it a symbol of visible and direct energy.
Chuspiyoq is a little known but deeply spiritual Inca archaeological site. Its name comes from Quechua and is linked to water, a sacred element in the Andean worldview. It is believed that it was a ceremonial center dedicated to purification rituals and connection with nature, where the Incas honored the life cycle of water as a source of life and energy. Surrounded by silence and greenery, Chuspiyoq offers a mystical experience for those looking for something beyond classic tourist destinations.
Horseback riding tour through Andean landscapes and ancestral trails connecting sacred temples. During this journey you will enjoy panoramic views of the Cusco mountains, eucalyptus forests and local countryside, accompanied at all times by an expert equestrian guide who will adapt the pace to your level of experience.

Wonderful experience! Enjoyed the ride and chance to visit smaller Inka sites. Beautiful and peaceful.
This experience was excellent. Saturnino was a super fun guide and very accommodating. We enjoyed learning the history. And there’s no better way to see things than by horseback in my opinion. My daughters and I went, and although 1 of my daughters had relatively limited experience, she was comfortably trotting and loping at good speed at the end. Almost full gallop. We’d absolutely do it again.
I had a really great horseback riding experience in Cusco. My horse was very calm and easy to ride, so I could really relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Juan Carlos was a fantastic guide — friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the local area and culture. He made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks again, Juan Carlos.
The overall experience was really great, the guide(s) really are amazing with the horses and make sure you feel secure -- my friend and I ended up in a tour with people who had never ridden horses before and the guide was very attentive to them. They even switched their horses partway through if they didn't feel comfortable on their chosen animal. Firstly, it was very fun and if you are more experienced you can trot and gallop with the horses. The scenery is incredible all the way through. The spots are cool to visit and you get told history at each location as well as opportunities to take pictures. Our pickup was about 20 minutes after we were informed we would be picked up though they were communicative the whole time. It says they provide water, but they stop at a shop so you can purchase water. If you have water, it's best to just bring it. Make sure to wear sunscreen! Lastly, we were done around 1pm but the transportation back to Cusco arrived about 30-45 minutes after that and they dropped us at Cusco at 2pm. This made it difficult for my friend and I to make our next reservation later in the day, so just be aware of that. Overall, I highly recommend, just be aware of some of the things listed, nothing that would keep anyone from doing the tour but might help with planning and timing.
This horse ride was perfect for me and my 12 year old daughter. Gentle horses, wonderful guides and you gotta learn quite a bit about the area. I highly recommend this.
The horse back trip was amazing. Our guy made sure to match us with horses according to you experience with horse riding. Since I’m was in experience he had one of his family members lead my horse the whole trip. The guide was extremely informative of the Inca site and history. You could tell he was very proud of his heritage.
Saturnino and crew are a bunch of passionate people, of the culture, their roots, and the horses. The tour was absolutely fascinating, both the guides really knowledgeable, ensuring we have the best experience, trodding on our horses through the valley. Learnt so much, had a lot of fun riding the horses and the energy they brought to the tour was really a highlight. Highly recommend you do this unique experience to get closer to the local culture.
My group and I booked this as our first tour in Cusco, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Saturnino, was absolutely wonderful and treated us like lifelong friends from the moment we arrived. He even offered his home to us if we ever needed anything during our stay. Before the ride, he introduced us to each horse with such care and detail, making sure everyone was perfectly matched. As we rode, we would occasionally dismount to give the horses a break while Saturnino guided us through hidden ruins and temples that most tourists never get to see. His passion for his culture, history, and horses was incredible, and his excitement to share that knowledge with us made the experience so special. We learned so much about Inca history and even picked up a few Inca words along the way. The atmosphere was so welcoming, not only from Saturnino but also from the two ladies helping the less experienced riders. As an equestrian myself, I was especially impressed by how well cared for and loved the horses were. The trail from the pasture was breathtaking and truly felt like stepping away from civilization into another world. I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone visiting Cusco. It’s so much more than a horseback ride — it’s an authentic cultural experience told from a local native perspective, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip.
It was a very informative tour and I learned how to ride a horse . The guides were very helpful
Ridding the Horse was truly excellent with wonderful views all around! (Make sure your phone is with your guide so that you can take photos at every stop!)
Such a great experience, the views and scenery were exceptional. You can tell they care about their horses and take good care of them.
This was one of the highlights of my trip to Cusco. Well worth the money.
I loved my trip!! We spent the day exploring the valley and hillside, where we were treated to breathtaking views and the chance to visit the beautiful ruins of Incan temples. The scenery was nothing short of spectacular, and riding through such a historic and picturesque landscape made the experience unforgettable. Our guide was both knowledgeable and fun, sharing fascinating insights about the area, the history of the ruins, and the culture surrounding the region. Their enthusiasm really elevated the tour and made it feel personal and engaging. The horses were very well taken care of and were easy to ride. My daughter and I have limited experience on a horse but we had no problem riding these horses even on a muddy day. Overall, I would highly recommend this horseback riding tour to anyone looking for an adventurous way to explore stunning landscapes while learning about the rich history of the area. It’s a perfect combination of nature, culture, and adventure!
The best tour we’ve ever done! Our guide Juan Carlos was incredible, his knowledge of the Inca temple sites, the horses and his English was great! We were allowed to gallop and felt so safe with these horses to do so! The horses are so soft and clean, and they are allowed to roam freely, which is so different to most tours we’ve done before. We learnt some Inca, got to try some local herbs and even got to take some back for my tea 😁
Best tour I’ve ever been on!! The horses are so well looked after, our tour guide Juan Carlos was also amazing, he had such good English and lots of knowledge about the Inca temples. We felt very safe in his company and the horses are very well trained and tempered. They roam free most of the time even when we got off them to see the temples and are never harshly treated which is very different from some tourist horse riding we’ve seen. Perfect for both experienced horse riders (we even got to gallop) but also very suitable for first timers. Very reasonably priced too. We will be reccomending this to everyone coming to Peru!! Thank you !!
My first time on a horse, what a great experience. There was time on and off the horse to give both of us a rest. The horses seemed well cared for. The guide was so polite, informative and patient. Learnt a lot about local culture and history as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery, bonding with my horse, Santi. So peaceful and small group number of six was perfect.
One of the Best Moments had in Cusco, was my first time riding a horse tooo and I really enjoyed, riding trough nature and visit ruins otherwise not accessible with other transportation! Saturnino was very passionate and accommodating with any request! Really a great experience! I truly recommend it!!
Our tour guide was the most lovely guide I ever had. Saturino was a wonderful person and really gave us a lot of information and learned us a lot about the history. We had such a wonderful time, with his humour we couldn’t have wanted our experience to be any better. I would recommend everyone to book this tour!! They took pictures and videos of us and treated us very very nice
Most magical experience just outside of cusco. Juan was an incredible guide, who had so much knowledge about the history and nature of the place. We never rode a horse before and juan choose the horses accordingly and explained us everything so we felt safe and even were able to do some galopp in the end. I cannot recommend this tour enough if you are looking for an authentic experience in the middle of stunning nature and history! We felt like riding in paradise and the energy of the place is unmatched. Thank you so much!
A wonderful and unique experience to discover the surroundings, culture, and history of Cusco. Santurnino knows a lot and can share a wealth of information on any topic! He chose a horse that suited my riding experience and we galloped through the beautiful countryside. He went to great lengths to give me the best possible tour and definitely succeeded. The horses were also well cared for and in good condition. Thank you very much for the wonderful tour!
This was a great tour on horse back of the ruins above Cusco. The tour guide Saturnino, and his crew were excellent. They assigned the horses due to your ability, which was important. We had a few stops during the tour and the guides would explain the history of the ruins, and the Incas. We saw Temple of Monkeys, Temple of the moon and Temple of Water. Each one was different and very interesting. The guides brought extra water for the group. Make sure to bring snacks and your sunblock as the sun is very strong. I would definitely go again.
I could not recommend this tour more. Saturnino and his team were wonderful in caring for the horses, and matched each horse with the rider perfectly. I was worried my youngest would get left behind as she is a complete beginner, but they looked after her well, and all horses were exceptionally well behaved, far better than any other riding centre i have been to. The tour itself was fantastic, a combination of stunning scenery, enjoyable riding and interesting knowledge sharing of local history and culture. A great way to experience different sights of Cusco, we fully recommend Saturnino and his team to provide an unforgettable service. Thank you!
What an amazing day! Saturnino was such an amazing guide. Funny and really caring about how we were on the horses. He has such a wonderful knowledge of the land and the religion of his people. The horses are amazing and so well looked after, you can really tell. Only allowing 1 horse to do the tour per day so they never get over worked. Such a beautiful day and even got to gallop for the first time! It was our first time on a horse and we were made to feel safe and comfortable Thank you again!
It was an amazing experience. You to see places/things you would let get to see by car !!! The guides are so nice and helpful. Even if you aren’t an experienced rider, you can still do this. 10/10 recommend.
An unbelievable tour, a highlight of a trip full of highlights. A combination of incredible scenery, history, and botany lessons courtesy of our fabulous guide Saturnino
Everything is nice, the horses are well trained and the views are interesting. The reason for no 5 stars is because he doesn’t speak in english most of the time, even when I asked for, so my girlfriend couldn’t understand most of the trip.
Fantastic experience, with amazing landscapes, and well trained and well treated horses. The guide, Saturnino, was very careful, friendly and had an excellent didactic in all the sights we passed!
For my husband and myself it was the first time on a horse and that was no problem. Saturnino and Juan Carlos paid close attention to everyone. Beautiful surroundings and lots of information received. It is about half horseback riding and half visit of various historical sites. Recommended!
An absolutely awesome experience!! Satuko is very attentive and shared a lot with us. We have a very good memory The horses are very well treated and the beautiful scenery Thank you again.
Had a fantastic experience. Horses are healthy, well looked after and Saturnino is a great guide with a lot of knowledge!
A fun and informative tour, where the horses are treated super well. For example, there are two groups of horses that are alternated every other day to go on an excursion. You can see that they get a lot of love from the guides, which we thought was super important. The information was also very interesting about the sun and moon temple and we were even allowed to do our own ritual. Highly recommended!
