Excellent experience in the mountains around Cusco. Gabriel was an excellent guide who clearly takes great care of his horses. Beautiful experience.

A lovely afternoon ride in the nearby hills out of town. Horses were very patient and easy to ride guides and overall organisation was excellent. Would recommend this as a relaxing afternoon trip.

Gabriel’s tour was phenomenal. None of us in our group knew what to expect and this tour exceeded our expectations. Gabriel was patient and understanding to those who had never ridden a horse before. He paired each of us up to a horse he thought we would work best with. I got Finnicks and enjoyed every step of the ride. We got to see so much history and asked so many questions and got detailed answers. Cannot recommend this tour enough! Gabriel even explained how he makes sure the horses are rested and properly taken care of to ensure they are treated humanely. He has hundreds of acres for the horses to roam free!

This was a wonderful experience! We were not experienced in horseback riding and Gabriel was taking this into account carefully choosing the perfect horse for everyone. He gave us a very knowledgeable and authentic tour. The tour itself was very well organized. It was also a great way to get out of the hyper touristy city and experience the great landscape. This was hands down the best tour we took while in Cusco. Gabriel is an absolute gem. If you have the opportunity to learn from him about the local culture, the Inca people, and life in the region, you'll leave both happier and more knowledgeable. He guided us on a wonderful ride through the mountains and hills, sharing fascinating information while allowing plenty of time to take in the breathtaking scenery. The horses were well cared for, gentle, and easy to ride, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire experience. This tour was the perfect way to acclimate to the altitude while enjoying some of the most beautiful views around Cusco. We only wish we had booked another tour with Gabriel during our trip. I cannot recommend this horseback riding tour highly enough.

What a great way to spend the day! The horses were well trained and the views were amazing. We made several stops to soak in the scenery and Gabriel spoke about the history of the land. I was worried about getting on the horse but Gabriel was right there and I used his shoulder for support. A perfect way to see the beautiful countryside. I highly suggest this activity.

Great experience, the most beautiful countryside I've seen, and horses were wonderful. Would absolutely recommend. It was also a half-day excursion so you can still do something else during the rest of your day.

We were very excited about horse riding in Cuzco. Gabriel picked us up from our hotel, and it was approx 20 minutes to the ranch. As there was only the two of us for the morning ride, it felt like a special private tour. The horses were extremely well looked after, and all the tack was in excellent condition. A handy ‘stump’ helped us up into the saddle.. Our first stop was the temple of the moon. What a super historical site! We covered quite a distance in the few hours - with a stop to get wet gear on when the heavens opened. This was a great fun thing to do away from the usual archeological treasures. Gabriel is obviously very professional and caring and loves his work. Would i recommend? Definitely yes!

Excellent tour, guide shared so much fascinating archaeology about the Inca I didn’t learn anywhere else and the horses were so sweet and seemed very well taken care of, highly recommend this tour!

This was a really great ride on Peruvian Paso horses to Inkan ruins. Gabriel was a wonderful host, full of information, and it was clear that he cares a lot about his horses. Safety was also priority here. I would highly recommend for any level of skill rider.

It was amazing. First of all Gabriel and his team helped all the 7 of us get familiarized with our horses, they accompanied us to the whole route and even offered us a tour in the caves and Luna temple. We saw amazing views from the top of the town, and extra points for offering us a small snack. Highly highly recommended, very nice experience if it is your first time horse riding

Amazing afternoon spent riding the lovely Phoenix. Gabriel and our guide were knowledgeable and passionate about the archaeology and the horses. Highly recommend if you have a free few hours in Cusco!

What a wonderful experience we had with Gabriel and his team. Everyone had a brilliant time on the tour - Gabriel had lots of historical and local information about the area, the horses seemed very well treated adn were easy to ride, riders who hadn't ridden before were assisted and lunch was eaten with spectacular views all around. A fabulous time was had by all.

Interesting horseback ride with some local information and history thrown in. The horses were well cared for and well behaved. Gabriel picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off. The mountains were beautiful and the sites we visited were really interesting.

Gilbert was gracious and fitted us with the right horses, the horses were gentle and well behaved. The tour included going to the ruins, dismounting, and getting guide! Moon temple. Then a ride up to a glorious red tile rooftop view of the entire city of Cusco. A light snack and back to the stables. It was one of the highlights of my trip!!!

Gabriel is the real deal - his ranch has been in his family over 100 years and has bred and trained Peruvian Pasos that are calm, strong, gaited, and beautiful. His horses are well-loved and cared for and enjoy getting out for a ride. Gabriel is extremely knowledgeable about Inka and Peruvian history and culture, and the tour is both informative and fascinating. For anyone thinking about going for a ride near Cusco, I definitely recommend Gabriel's ranch. We had a fabulous day.

Gabriel was very punctual and, his workers and the gentleman that picked us up from our hotel was very friendly. Gabriel's workers were kind answered questions and made us feel welcomed and at ease with there horses. And as well the horses were perfectly trained and had zero problems for being first time on horse back, would absolutely recommend him and the temple of the moon ride to anyone that is visiting cusco area 5 star.

We took the trail with Gabriel (the third) himself. He explained to us that his family has owned this place for three generations (originally owned by Gabriel the first)! He did such a great job of explaining the history of the moon temple and other sites. The place is still family owned and you can tell they take amazing care of their horses. This is my favorite thing I’ve done in Cusco so far - I highly recommended this!! This is also suitable for all skill levels.

This is a fantastic experience, especially for those seeking something less "touristy". Gabriel is an amazing guide and speaks perfect English. I was the only person on the tour for the afternoon I went, and Gabriel was still super thorough and patient and did not skip anything. The horses are beautiful, tall, clean, well-groomed. You can tell Gabriel's family really loves and cares for them. I highly recommend this tour to enjoy some relaxing time and get to know the local communities better.

What a fun tour! I went on my honeymoon with my husband to peru for 11 days with tons of tours scheduled and this was the best tour! I have 20 years horseback riding experience, my husband had 0. Gabriel accommodated both of us allowing us to travel at comfortable speeds even in a group setting. He was very knowledgeable about the ancient sites we visited and clearly passionate about the history and culture. His ranch was impressive and the horses were all so friendly but definitely excited to get on the trail and get moving, which we loved because that was the energy we brought. 10/10 to Gabriel, his assistant, and the horses!

It was an amazing experience! It’s my first time riding horses. I was kinda worried when arriving. However, Gabriel and his helper helped me a lot. They led the horse “Bonito”, who is super sweet and friendly, to me, taught me how to control a horse and helped taking videos and pictures. When horses were scared by a motor cycle, they gave immediate response and instructions. Bonito is kinda emulative when on an open grass area and wanted to catch up with the horse in front of him, but Gabriel went down his horse and helped leading Bonito so he wouldn’t jump and would behave better. It was on an uphill path and I know it was super difficult to catch breath when walking this much on a plateau. Thank you so much Gabriel! Muchos gracias ^-^ We also had a small snack lunch on a mountain, it’s great! It was such a great experience, I now know how to ride a horse (hopefully). If I ever had a chance to come to Cusco again, I will definitely try again!

One of the best and most authentic experiences I have had in Peru, such a wonderful time! Gabriel's English is very good, and he seems very knowledgeable about the Incas and the old temple ruins around Cusco. I originally went just for the horses, but climbing into the caves associated with the temples was a whole adventure trip on top of the riding. Gabriel and all his team are lovely people, and most importantly very gentle with the horses. The family has had this ranch for almost a hundred years, they breed their own horses and put new shoes on them. I have very little experience riding horses, and others in the group had none at all, but everyone still had a great time! And they also have horses suitable for more seasoned riders and offer lessons. Big recommendation, I wish I had time to stay in Cusco and take some lessons with them.

We had a free day in Cusco and decided to ride horses the night before. When we arrived at the ranch we had booked the wrong ranch. We were supposed to go on a cheaper ride with a different ranch. We decided to make the best of it and go. We are so glad we spent the extra $ . This was a highlight of our peru trip. It was an incredible experience. This is a family run ranch and Gabriel’s family has owned the ranch for generations. The horses were Peruvian Paso breed and they Gabriel the owner takes pride and treats them with love. It was apparent that Gabriel’s passionate nature for his love of the Ranch. This is a must do in Cusco.

It was amazing! I enjoyed the ride so much. I had no previous riding experience but felt comfortable. Gabriel is knowledgeable and great to connect with. Overall, a wonderful opportunity to be in nature and learn more about Inca history.

Gabriel was a fantastic tour guide and shared so much information about the Incan culture and traditions with us. His horses are well cared for and well trained. They were great with my kids and even walked the entire way with my 11 year old to make sure she was safe. My teenage son said this was his favorite part of our week long stay in Peru. This is a definite must do with kids while in Cusco!

Gabriel was so knowledgeable and a great guide! The snack bag was such a nice touch. He selected horses according to riding experience and they were the best behaved. I will 100% do this again next time when I come back.

This was an amazing experience. After being picked up, we started from the ranch by being paired with amazing and gentle horses and started riding towards the moon temple and Chacan mountain. Gabriel was very knowledgeable and an amazing and kind host providing us with both historic and local information. Visiting a communal alpaca farm at the end was a great bonus.

The tour was a great mix of visiting some different cultural sites and riding through the mountains, and Gabriel was a great guide. Really nice touches of a family business, local stories and homemade snacks.

Instead of riding a bored horse that was tied to other bored horses like in the USA, I was able to ride Apu, see Inca ruins and the countryside near Saqsaywama (aka, Sacsayhuam), and listen to Gabriel's stories about the Incas. It was relaxing and invigorating riding Apu away from the hustle and bustle of Cusco. Apu is one of many sure-footed horses at Gabriel's Ranch. The pictures I took, cannot convey how I felt riding Apu on very narrow trails, which I didn't think to photograph.

It was an amazing ride! Even for the kids with no experience at all. All the cultural aspects of the tour was really interesting too. An adventure we are not ready to forget! Thanks you mr. Gabriel!

Gabriel is a great host and his horses are well taken care of. The tour is very interesting and Gabriel provides great context of the Inca constructions. It’s also a great way to see the countryside around Cusco. I would absolutely recommend this tour, and it’s suitable for all levels of riding ability.

We were a family of 8 with a range of skills for horseback riding. Our trip was wonderful. Our hosts were so pleasant and made sure we were very comfortable on the horses they chose for us. The ride was at a good pace and scenic, with a stop at some ruins. Snacks were provided. Pick-up and drop-off at our hotel made planning very easy. It was an absolutely wonderful morning. In addition, while planning our trip to Peru, I needed to contact our hosts on a few occasions. Response were quick and helpful. I strongly recommend this tour- you will not be disappointed.
