Itinerary
At 8.30am, we pick you up from your hotel and take you to the start of the tour. We travel from Cusco, past Saqsaywaman over the mountains towards the Sacred Valley. We descend 1500 feet to the valley floor, where we find ourselves by the sacred Urubamba River and the village of Pisac. In Pisac, we stop to visit a traditional market, where you can browse and buy some local souvenirs if desired. We will spend about 30 minutes here. Then, we drive up to the ruins of Pisac. Here, we explore the extensive ruins whilst enjoying stunning views over the valley. You will be given a guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac, in which we will see temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves and the famous Intihuatana, "The hitching post of the sun". We have about 90 minutes to explore the ruins. For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, advise your guide so he can organize a time and place to pick you up when returning through the market.
We continue on towards Urubamba, where we make a stop (45 minutes) for lunch(not include).
A 30 minute drive takes us to Ollantaytambo, which is surrounded by the sacred mountains. Here, we will spend about an hour. In Ollantaytambo, we get further exposure to Incan constructions, mainly the amazing temple of the sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs and terraces. We also get to see the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress surrounded by the sacred mountains and Valley of Patacancha and Willoq.
On our return, we make a quick visit to the famous church and archaeological site in Chincheros. We return to Cusco at about 6:30-7pm.

We spent the day with Miguel & had a fantastic day exploring the salt pools in Maras, the huge terraced structures which served as agricultural laboratories in Moray and then Patchacuti’s royal estate in Ollantaytambo. It was fascinating and Miguel was a fantastic guide helping to explain what we were looking at. The buffet lunch at the end was the best buffet we had in 17 days, the choice was extensive. Thoroughly enjoyed the excursion.
Our family had an amazing experience with the bookings and tours offered by Valencia travel. In 5 days, we traveled a lot, learned a great deal about the culture, ate traditional food and visited amazing places including- Cusco city, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Koricancha, Tambomachay, Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, Sacred valley, Machu Pichu, and Rainbow mountain. Our guide, Reuben Soto was amazing! He took the time to explain the history of each place, took excellent pictures, even brought a photographer, Franco on some trips, who took all the pics we could ask for and they were amazing. Reuben took us to amazing local restaurants so we could try the local cuisine. He was very patient, kind and thoughtful. We would highly recommend him to anyone!
Mariela is an excellent guide who shared her knowledge of her language and culture with us and gave us some great insights into Inca history and culture. She always arrived on time and answered all our questions to the best of her knowledge. The car and driver(s) were also very good. We would recommend Mariela wholeheartedly!
My wife and I had an absolutely magical experience touring the sacred valley and many destinations with our local tour guide, Miguel. He and our driver John made the day unforgettable by showing us all the sights, providing interesting background information and even taking us to enjoy the best local food. It was wonderful!
We booked with Valencia tour company which was recommended by my cousin. We had Mariela for our tour guide and Speedy and Eddy for our drivers over 4 days. It was a wonderful experience for my family. Mariela was very attentive to all our requests. Her restaurant recommendations were brilliant. She is very knowledgeable and she helped me on the hikes by holding my hands and encouraged me to continue. I may not have completed the hikes without her support. We would highly recommend Valencia Tours and specifically Mariela She is a very knowledgeable Spanish and English language guide, who taught us a lot about the Inca culture and indigenous plants.
We have been on a Trip A Deal Ultimate South American tour that had Valencia Travel undertake the Peru section. We had Juan Collado collect us from the airport as our guide for the next 12 days he was fantastic & so professional looking after all 20 of us whilst on our tour. I learnt so much from Juan imparting his knowledge of the Inca culture it was a great trip. Thank you do much Juan
Having Delia was the highlight of our trip in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. She was so accommodating and patient, and went above and beyond our expectations. Especially when we wanted to spend extra time at certain spots. She tailored the itinerary perfectly to our interests, was a wealth of knowledge and was a pleasure to be with. Thank you for such a memorable and special experience!
We have just completed a 12 day tour of Peru with Rolly Carrasco. Rolly showed us the highlights through his love and passion for his country and its history. We saw the history of the Incas, the impact of the Conquistadors and the Peru of today. We trekked some of the Amazon, we climbed Machu Picchu and we ate Peruvian food. Through all of this Rolly called us his family and he looked after us like family. Nothing was too much. Thank you Rolly. You are the best guide we have ever experienced and TripaDeal and Valencia are lucky to have you.
My husband and me did the whole day private tour of Sacred Valley , Ollantaytambo, with wearing experience and visit to silver factory store. We were very lucky to have Rene Fernando as our guide. Rene is very informative, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. Thanks to Rene we learned a lot about impressive Inca’s history and culture. We are very grateful to Rene for his time, energy and enthusiasm and would highly recommend him as a guide.
We covered so many incredible places in a single day; it was fantastic! Oscar was my guide and Ronald was my driver and they were both absolutely incredible at making sure we went to the places I wanted to go and see the things I wanted to see. They also gave me options and were happy to make tweaks to the itinerary based on my preferences. Oscar was also highly knowledgeable on all the sites we went to and taught me a lot. I highly, highly recommend!
This tour of the sacred valley far exceeded my expectations. First of all, I wasn’t expecting for it to be a private tour, so that was a pleasant surprise. Our guide, Edward was an excellent communicator and I appreciated that he reached out to inform me he’d be a few minutes late due to traffic. It’s a small detail but it just shows the commitment to clear communication. The tours of the sites were fantastic, with Edward providing great info but also being open to questions. He was very proactive about keeping the activities accessible to my mobility-restricted mother. We loved the visit to the textiles store, where we learned so much about how local textiles are made. Our driver, Edwin, was a fantastic driver…he kept moving to get us to places quickly, but did it in a manner in which we felt safe, including driving through switchbacks. The process of booking was also perfect, with actual humans answering the phone and directing you to a specialized person providing what I thought was a very reasonable price, considering how last minute we booked. I was genuinely impressed with the professionalized operation of Valencia Travel and plan to use them again when visiting Cusco.
Viktoria was a wonderful tour guide - very knowledgable and passionate about the history of the region. Highly recommend!
Amazing tour! Special thanks to Rene, our tour guide. Very nice and knowledgeable. We asked so many questions and requests, he's able to satisfy all. It's very very important to go with great tour guide especially at places that has rich culture and history.
We are a group of 4 (2 couples) private tour. Rene was our guide and he was very responsive the day before the trip to confirm all the details. He waited at the airport to greet us politely and the car is of good condition - clean and new. Our guide Rene is the shining star of the tour, he is knowledgeable and explained to us the inca sites in detail. We learnt that he is also a trekking guide and I will come back to him next time!
Had a great time with Valencia Travel and Cornia was an amazing guide. She was very informative and cared about giving us the best possible experience. I would highly recommend her.
We loved our tour and we loved our guide! They picked us up at the airport in a nice van and customized the tour to our specific preferences. Then they dropped us off at the train station in Ollantaytambo. It was great. The guide spoke good English and the driver was very competent.
What really set this tour apart was our guide, Rene His love and knowledge were evident in everything he shared with us. We felt so lucky that he was willing to share his culture with us. If you have the chance to visit the Sacred Valley, do it! It was is a magical place. Rene’s expert knowledge of the history and culture made it even better. Thank you Valencia Travel and Rene for making this dream trip a reality! of course i will remember this tour forever
We had a wonderful day exploring the Sacred Valley with our guide Rene. He explained everything before hand that we were going to see and answered our questions throughout the day. We got to see how llama and alpaca sweaters and other goods are made and try on traditional clothes, then went to several Incan archaeological sites including Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac. Stunning views and lots of fun! Rene was very knowledgeable and accommodating and really made it an amazing day. I would highly recommend this tour.
